Chapter 313 Deeply Burying Him Underground
So it seemed that the origin of this matter was Evan's fire.
Evidently, Aragog was filled with resentment towards both the incident and Evan. He waved his large pincers at an unprecedented speed, and his whole body trembled.
If he could, he would rush towards him now and tear him apart...
Evan tightened his wand. It wasn't until Aragog regained his composure that he relaxed his guard.
He could understand Aragog's thoughts. From his perspective, he set fire to hundreds of Acromantulas and made things worse each time.
However, the root cause was Aragog's belief in dark forces, bloodlust, cruelty, and rebellion. He had set himself on a path of self-destruction.
At that moment, if he had been able to keep his promise and let Evan and Peter Pettigrew go, none of this would have happened. Aragog and his descendants could have lived in the Forbidden Forest as before, continuing to rely on the method of offering sacrifices to the unknown creature living deep underground to sustain their wicked lives.
Evan sighed coldly and looked at the old spider with disgust. It was truly repugnant to survive by sacrificing the lives of others.
In a way, Aragog in front of him was no different from the gigantic female spider outside and had turned into a monster.
However, he also knew that Aragog was not to blame for this.
It was a dark creature in itself, finding it hard to adhere to human moral standards, let alone consider what it did as wrong.
Few can accept death, and whatever they have to say can only be described by fate.
And Evan could be certain that even without his own fire, the malevolent creature hidden deep underground would not be willing to give up.
In the original story, Aragog continued to live for many more days.
After his death, his descendants soon joined Voldemort's camp to take part in the final battle, but how Voldemort treated that creature remains unknown.
Was it direct extermination or some unknown secret?
Now that things had come to this point, it no longer made sense to think about it further.
Now Evan only hoped that Aragog would do as he said and not hasten to settle the debt of killing his descendants before taking out their common enemy.
Of course, if he truly wanted to do that, Evan would not be afraid.
Seeing Aragog's current state, he was certain he could kill him with just one spell.
"Your existence has always been a secret. Only I knew about it, I never let the children come near here." Click, click, Aragog waved his large pincers and said excitedly, "But since that day, it has grown stronger and whispers throughout the Nest. It started to ignore me and take direct control of my children. I want to stop it, but nothing can be done. It stopped supplying me with energy. I have become extremely weak, aging, death is closing in on me. I can only be here, alone."
A strong icy wind blew from the deep abyss, and Aragog huddled like an elderly person on the brink of death, completely stripped of his former vitality as King of the Spiders.
Evan was not dismayed by the sight before him. He quietly raised his wand and aimed it at Aragog in the midst of the cobwebs. "Before coming here, I was in the great cave outside. I saw your mate with ten thousand spider eggs..."
"My children!" Aragog weakly responded. "How are they? I haven't seen them for a long time since I was imprisoned here."
"Very poorly. With the transformation of dark forces, they can no longer be called Acromantulas. They have turned completely into monsters." Evan narrowed his eyes and continued, "I cannot allow these monsters to live in the Forbidden Forest, so I eliminated them. Devoured by the Cursed Fire, they will leave no ashes. I'm sorry, but it had to be done. Perhaps Hagrid will find a way to help you find a new mate."
Aragog remained unresponsive upon hearing Evan.
He did not speak and lay there in silence, his thoughts well hidden.
In the darkness, Evan held his breath, extended his arm, and grasped his wand, awaiting Aragog's decision.
He was ready to use magic. If Aragog did anything wrong, he would kill him first and then find a way to deal with the creature below and save Malfoy.
"As you said, they have all mutated into monsters, disobeying my orders. They are no longer Acromantulas and must be eliminated..." Aragog spoke bitterly, "it is all because of the creature beneath us that my offspring and I have become what we are today. I swear to kill it, I want revenge!"
"Very well, I am glad you have this awareness." Evan breathed a sigh of relief and continued. "Tell me your plan. What do you want me to do?"
"It is simple, kill the creature below and help me seek vengeance!" Aragog advanced, his large pincers waving fiercely. "It's right below here with the human boy. I don't know what happened. It is extremely weak and has little power now. If you go down, you should be able to kill it quite easily..."
"How can I descend there?" Evan looked again at the deep pit beneath his feet. He was more aware than Aragog of the current situation of the hidden individual in the depths of the earth. After failing to cast his spell on Evan, he suffered grave consequences.
The question now was how could he reach the bottom of this pit?
"My son can assist you." Aragog's large pincers closed quickly as if beckoning something.
A few seconds later, Evan saw a black-blue Acromantula descend from above.
It slowly descended between him and Aragog, and as it approached, Evan noticed a strand of spider silk hanging from its tail.
"It can help you reach the bottom of this deep pit, Hagrid's friend." With each step, Aragog spoke slowly, "After killing that individual, it will bring you and your companion up from below, and I will give you an extra gift to show my gratitude..."
Evan regarded the two Acromantulas suspiciously in front of him. He did not expect any reward from Aragog at all. He only hoped he wouldn't be thrown from the air.
Considering the nature of Acromantulas, it was highly likely that something like that might happen.
He hesitated. The Acromantula hanging in the air gazed fiercely at him, its eight black eyes gleaming maliciously in the wand's light.
"I can descend, but you must accompany me." Evan took out a glass bottle filled with green liquid from his pocket.
Having learned the lesson since he could not take many cherished magic books from the ancient house of the Blacks at Christmas due to lacking packages.
Over the past few months, Evan had been researching and experimenting. Eventually, he managed to successfully cast an Undetectable Extension Charm on a small package.
Although this spell was not flawless, it was useful.
Now, this small space was filled with magic books Evan had been studying recently, commonly used potions, and other everyday items.
