Author's Note: Hey everyone, I'm already experiencing writer's block, hooray! But don't worry, I can still write at a slower pace, and this story will probably not be discontinued or canceled anytime soon. I still have some juice left in me.

Journal: Day 1
Okay, I'm literally a dumbass for not thinking about writing a journal sooner. I need to record and maybe help solve the inner mysteries about me. I'm still not sure if I can use Aura. I can't even feel or use it at all, don't know how Aura feels like, and I'm not sure if I am a Pokémon. I can't use moves either. Maybe I'm like N from Unova?
To be real here, understanding Poké-speech is really useful and convenient. I can pretty much form bonds easily and remove 99.9 percent of misunderstandings and miscommunication. For the past week, I've been reading books and searching online to find if there are any cases of people having the same condition as me. I found none, even in legends and mythology, which makes me even more confused. The only one similar to me is N. In my old life, there were theories that N is secretly a Zorua or Zoroark, which is why he can understand Pokémon.
Well, take those theories with a grain of salt. They have some evidence, but why couldn't he perform moves like a Pokémon? Maybe he's just like me? Who knows. There's also a possibility that I might be a Pokémon imbued with a powerful solid illusion or transformation. Sounds like crap if you ask me, and utterly ridiculous. Is that even possible?
Anyways, moving on. After dinner, we talked for a bit about my future journey and what I'm aiming for. I answered that I want to be a really good trainer, maybe an elite level. I could aim for Champion, but there are too many responsibilities in that role. You have to take care of an entire region as the most powerful trainer. Mom just nodded at my answer.
After that little discussion, I went to my bedroom and straight to my comfy bed. Just your regular bedroom with awesome posters of champions, professors, and Pokémon, and my cool little Squirtle blanket. I'm writing at my desk right now and I feel like I've written enough for today. Gotta go to sleep because, well, school of course.
7:30am
"Well, have fun, Genera! Listen to your teacher, okay? I know you're very smart, but you should always listen."
Ugh, mom, I know. I'm not stupid.
"Yeah, I will. Bye, Mom!"
Back at school again. It isn't boring, just kinda feeling lazy right now. I wonder if Jesus exists in this world because Christmas is apparently a thing here. Maybe there's a Pokémon equivalent of Jesus?
"Well, enough crazy and weird wonder questions. I should focus on sch—" I heard my name called in the sky, so I looked up and saw my good ol' Pidgey.
"Hey, Genera! How are you? Heading to school?" he asked and then landed on my head, making cooing sounds.
"Uh, pretty good and yeah, I'm heading to school," I talked back in a low voice. I don't want anyone to find out about me understanding Pokémon.
"Well, I guess I should go then to not bother you. Sorry about that," he said in a low voice, probably feeling a bit guilty. But I don't think that is needed, lol.
"Well, it's fine, Pidgey. There's no need to be sorry. You didn't bother or disturb me at all," I replied. I'm close to the building now, so I guess the little talk is over.
"Well, time for our little chat to be over. I'm going to enter, so have fun, Pidgey!"
"Oh, well, see ya, Genera!"
As I entered the building, I saw many familiar faces—my new friends, both from anime and real life. Not that I care about it anyway; friends are friends. I entered our classroom and saw Ash and Gary doing whatever arguments and shenanigans as usual. Then Ash noticed me.
"Oh hey, Genera is here now!" Ash, why do you always have to shout? My ears hurt.
"Sup Ash, and sup Gary. Talking about which Pokémon is better?" Oh, here comes the Charizard vs. Blastoise argument. I have to be honest here, I enjoy watching their little debate. It's just amusing to watch and listen.
"Of course," Gary retorted. "Blastoise is obviously better than Charizard because of type advantage and it's way cooler than Charizard."
"You're so wrong, Gary!" Ash angrily yelled at him. I saw Gary still smirking, as usual. "Charizard is better, okay? Fire is so cool. Just look at them, they look so awesome when they fight!"
Then some student snapped, "Can you two shut up? You guys are too loud and let's not get ourselves in trouble."
Before they could continue, they heard the door open and it was the teacher. The teacher is your regular stereotypical teacher you would see in American movies: blond hair, a Karen-like face, and unusually cool-looking glasses. Do they even use them for their actual purpose? Eh, they probably use them for cosmetic reasons, lol.
"Well, calm down everyone. We have a really big announcement!" the teacher excitedly said in front of everyone, which got an "Ooohhhhh" from the class. Ohhh... what is it? Must be important then. It's not every day we see our teacher announce something big out of nowhere.
"So what's this big announcement, teacher?" I asked.
"Now hold your Rapidash, kids. You will get your answers shortly, so wait a little." That got us a little bit confused. What could it be? Then a man entered our classroom. The familiar face, it's...
"PROFESSOR OAK?!" Everyone, including me, screamed his name. Well, I can't blame myself and everyone here. After all, he's the legendary professor almost everyone in the world has heard of. He was the Champion of Kanto for 20 long years before retiring and becoming the professor he is famously known for.
The professor chuckled and then proceeded to speak. "Well, hello my boys and girls. We will do a school trip to the SEA! To learn about Pokémon habitats and water-type Pokémon! After all, it's important for future trainers to learn a lot about Pokémon!" which got everyone excited. Well, for Ash, he's of course excited, probably thinking more about Pokémon battles. Your usual chosen one mindset.
As I finished gathering my thoughts, I asked, "Professor Oak, when will we start?"
"Oh, well, we depart today!" which got everyone happy except me. I mean, I am excited but shocked we are departing right now. I don't even have my clothes prepared for this.
"But Pro—" I got cut off by the professor as he clarified something for me. "Oh, no worries, Genera. We only use uniforms and besides, we have spare ones and got the right measurements! Though you sure are a smart kid for thinking about preparing!"
Oh… well, I don't see any issues with it. Either way, I don't think my parents will see any issues. As much as… well, sussy as they are, they at least care about my well-being and future. They're not that bad, I guess.
"Of course, you're thinking about it, Genera. You're such a big nerd!" one of the kids said out loud. How rude. I'd like to see their failures as they don't prepare for their journey.
"Oh, it's a good thing to be smart, my boy. That way you will always know what to do and how to care for and love Pokémon." Thank you so much, professor. Means a lot to my smart ass.
Then the teacher finally spoke up. "Well, pack up your bags, everyone. We will have your spare uniforms and donated clothes for you all. And as the usual smarty you are, Genera, don't worry about your parents. They are fine with it. And last of all, we will leave in an hour."
"Wow… am I that predictable…"
"You may not realize it, but yes, you are, Genera," the teacher said and chuckled a bit. "You are too much of a smarty kid and are already thinking about preparations for your future Pokémon journey."
"Yeah, yeah, right, whatever." Sucks being predictable here. God damn it.
Well, time to pack up my things. I should probably charge up my phone a bit before we head out. Too bad I don't have a Rotom Phone. I kinda want to talk with a sentient smartphone that can fly, talk, and search stuff for me. Very, very convenient for me.
(1 Hour Timeskip)
"Students! Get on the bus now. Make sure you have all your things needed, and last of all, we are heading to Vermillion City!" the teacher said.
"Wha—but isn't that far? Why can't we walk south because it's closer to the sea?" one of my classmates pointed out.
"Well yes, but there are many more diverse water types in Vermillion City. We will learn a lot more over there and enjoy the fun of fishing, of course!" the teacher happily explained.
Now this is getting exciting. New Pokémon for me to meet and maybe learn something interesting. Maybe I can get to see the Vermillion Gym and even meet Lt. Surge? Jeez, I'm really aiming for the stars. Got too many things to think about which makes me excited about a lot.
As I sat in a seat, there were about 20 students, I think? Too lazy to count, honestly. Wait, where is Ash and Gary?
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
"WAIT FOR US, WE ARE COMING!"
The hell? Was that them? What took them so long…
"Sorry guys, we missed something in the classroom and we ran as fast as possible."
"Whatever, Ashy boy. It's your fault for forgetting your bag in the classroom."
"Hey!"
Pretty much an amusing sight to see, watching them bickering. Just as I was about to relax, I saw Professor Oak entering the bus. Huh? Can't he just use a Pokémon to teleport? I'm pretty sure he has one, an Alakazam I think. He's a former champion, so he probably has one.
"Hi Professor Oak!" everyone greeted (except me) and waved.
"Well, students, I'm sure you are all excited for this trip! The world of Pokémon is beautiful and has a lot of interesting and amazing things to learn about them!"
Wait, I need to ask the professor something. I raised my hand, and the professor noticed and spoke.
"Go ahead, Genera. What is it you wish to ask?"
"Professor, I'm sure you have a Pokémon that can teleport. Surely you can teleport to Vermillion to cut time."
The professor smiled at me and chuckled.
"Of course I do, however, I'm joining you all on this trip so I can get to know you all better. At the same time, I'll share stories and knowledge about Pokémon! It will be boring without your trusty old man here," the professor answered with a smile.
"Though I'm actually surprised you know about one of my Pokémon capable of teleportation. How did you know about that?"
Shit, I think I spilled the beans here. Gotta maneuver my way out of this.
"Uhhh… you were a champion for such a long time, Professor, so I assumed you have a Pokémon or more that can teleport."
The teacher looked at Professor Oak and said, "Hm, he is truly very observant. He knows a lot, and he has a lot of potential."
The professor smiled and tapped his chin. "Indeed, what an impressive observation, Genera. Perhaps I have gotten rusty and forgotten that people assume I have powerful Pokémon due to me being a former champion."
I got flustered by the compliments. Can't believe I'm being acknowledged by Professor Oak himself.
Just as I finished gathering my thoughts, I noticed everyone was looking at me. Tf? Why are they looking at me? Is there a problem?
"Um... is there something on my face?"
"Hey, it's so unfair you know so much!" one of the students exclaimed.
"Well, uh, have you heard of something called studying?" I retorted. I smirked seeing their faces frown. Heh, not my fault they didn't study. I mean, I pretty much did the same thing in my past life, but I'm different now. Epic development, I guess? I mean, Pokémon is worth studying. It's just amazing to read and learn about, to be honest.
"What a nerd you are."
"Yeah, yeah, I know I'm a nerd," I replied, rolling my eyes at the comment. Despite the teasing, I couldn't help but feel a bit of pride in knowing so much about Pokémon. After all, it's what sets me apart from the rest.
As the bus rumbled to life and started its journey to Vermillion City, the chatter of my classmates filled the air. I put on my headphones, hoping to catch some peace and quiet with my favorite Pokémon tunes. But it didn't take long for someone to poke me on the shoulder.
"Hey, Genera, what do you think we'll see at Vermillion?" It was Lily, one of the more curious students in our class.
I took off my headphones. "Well, Vermillion City is known for its diverse marine life. We'll probably see a lot of water-type Pokémon, maybe even some rare ones like Dratini or Lapras."
Lily's eyes widened. "Wow, that would be amazing! I hope we get to see a Lapras. They're so majestic."
I nodded, smiling. "Yeah, Lapras are pretty cool. I'm excited to see what we'll learn."
As the bus continued its journey, I noticed Ash and Gary still arguing about Charizard and Blastoise, their voices carrying over the bus noise. It was a constant source of amusement for the whole class, and today was no different.
"Blastoise can shoot water cannons! How can Charizard compete with that?" Gary said, his voice full of confidence.
Ash crossed his arms, pouting. "Charizard can fly and use flamethrower! It's way more versatile."
I chuckled to myself and glanced out the window. The scenery was changing, with tall buildings giving way to more open fields and patches of forest. It was nice to get out of the classroom and see the world.
Professor Oak stood up at the front of the bus and began to speak, capturing everyone's attention. "Students, as we make our way to Vermillion City, I'd like to share some stories about my travels as a Pokémon trainer and researcher. There's so much to learn and experience in the world of Pokémon."
He began recounting tales of his adventures, from his early days as a trainer to his encounters with rare Pokémon. The stories were fascinating, and even the most restless students were captivated.
"And then there was the time I encountered a wild Articuno in the Seafoam Islands," Professor Oak said, his eyes twinkling with the memory. "It was a breathtaking sight, the sheer beauty and power of the legendary bird. A reminder of the wonders waiting out there for all of you."
The bus hit a bump, jolting me out of my daydream. I looked around and noticed that even Ash and Gary had paused their debate to listen to Professor Oak's story. It was moments like this that made me grateful for the chance to learn from someone so knowledgeable and passionate about Pokémon.
As the afternoon wore on, the bus became quieter. Some students dozed off, lulled by the steady motion and the warm sunlight streaming through the windows. I took out my journal and started jotting down some notes about the trip, wanting to remember every detail.
Just as I was finishing up, I felt a presence beside me. I looked up to see Professor Oak standing there, smiling.
"Mind if I sit here for a bit, Genera?" he asked.
"Sure, Professor," I replied, moving my bag to make room for him.
He sat down and looked at my notebook as I wrote down notes. "Ah, I see you're keeping notes. That's a good habit. Documentation is crucial for any researcher."
I nodded. "Yeah, I started keeping a journal recently to help me understand more about myself and to write down my progress."
Professor Oak raised an eyebrow. "That's very wise of you. Self-awareness and reflection are key to personal growth. If you ever have any questions or need guidance, don't hesitate to ask."
"Thank you, Professor. I really appreciate it."
We sat in comfortable silence for a few moments, watching the landscape pass by. It was nice to have a quiet moment amidst all the excitement.
"Genera," Professor Oak said suddenly, breaking the silence. "You mentioned earlier about assuming I have powerful Pokémon due to my past. That kind of insight shows you have a deep understanding of the world around you. Keep nurturing that curiosity and intuition. It will serve you well on your journey."
I smiled, feeling a warm sense of encouragement. "I will, Professor. Thank you."
As the bus continued its journey, I couldn't help but feel a growing sense of anticipation. Vermillion City was just a few hours away, and with it, new adventures and discoveries awaited us. I leaned back in my seat, ready to embrace whatever came next.
The road trip continued with students chatting, napping, and enjoying the scenic views. The excitement in the air was palpable, and I could sense that this trip was going to be something special. I closed my eyes, letting the rhythmic hum of the bus and the distant chatter of my classmates lull me into a peaceful state, dreaming of the adventures to come.
When I woke up, the bus was filled with the golden light of late afternoon. I glanced around and noticed that most of my classmates were still napping or chatting quietly. Lily was sketching something in her notebook.
"Hey, what are you drawing?" I asked, curious.
She looked up and smiled. "Oh, just a few ideas for my future Pokémon team. I want to make sure I have a balanced team with a variety of types."
I leaned over to get a better look. Her drawings were impressive, with detailed sketches of various Pokémon. "These are really good, Lily. You've got a real talent for this."
"Thanks, Genera," she said, blushing slightly. "I just hope I can catch all the Pokémon I want."
"You will," I said confidently. "With your skills and determination, there's no doubt about it."
Lily's smile widened, and we spent the next few minutes discussing our favorite Pokémon and strategies for building a strong team. It was nice to share my thoughts with someone who was just as passionate about Pokémon as I was.
As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the landscape, Professor Oak stood up and addressed the class. "Students, we're getting close to Vermillion City. I want you all to make sure you have your belongings ready. We'll be arriving soon, and I want us to be prepared for our adventure."
The bus buzzed with renewed excitement as everyone started packing up their things. I tucked my journal and pen away, making sure I had everything I needed. The anticipation in the air was almost tangible, and I couldn't wait to see what awaited us in Vermillion City.
As the bus drove on, we passed through the outskirts of the city. The towering buildings and bustling streets were a stark contrast to the peaceful countryside we had traveled through. It was a vibrant, lively place, and I could already see Water-type Pokémon in the canals and near the docks.
"Look, there's a Gyarados!" someone shouted, pointing out the window. Sure enough, a massive Gyarados was swimming gracefully through the water, its blue scales glinting in the fading sunlight.
"That's incredible," Lily whispered, her eyes wide with awe.
We continued to marvel at the sights as the bus made its way to our destination. Finally, we arrived at a large, modern building near the waterfront. The bus came to a stop, and we all gathered our things and lined up to get off.
As we stepped off the bus, Professor Oak gathered us around. "Welcome to Vermillion City, everyone. This is just the beginning of our adventure. Remember to stay with the group and pay attention. There's a lot to see and learn."
We followed Professor Oak into the building, which turned out to be a research facility dedicated to studying marine Pokémon. The walls were lined with tanks filled with various water types, from Magikarp to Vaporeon.
"Wow, this place is amazing," I said, looking around in awe.
Professor Oak smiled. "Indeed it is. This facility is one of the best places to study water Pokémon in their natural habitats. We'll be spending some time here learning about their behavior and characteristics."
As we made our way through the facility, we were introduced to several researchers who shared their knowledge and experiences with us. We learned about the different habitats and ecosystems that water Pokémon live in, as well as their unique abilities and traits.
One of the researchers, Dr. Marina, showed us a tank filled with Horsea and Seadra. "These Pokémon are known for their agility and ability to shoot powerful streams of water," she explained. "They're fascinating creatures with a lot to teach us."
I was completely engrossed in the information, taking notes and asking questions. It was clear that there was so much more to learn about Pokémon than just battles and training. Their habitats, behaviors, and interactions with each other were equally important, obviously.
After a few hours of exploring the facility, we gathered in a large conference room for a briefing on the next day's activities. Professor Oak stood at the front of the room, a map of the surrounding area spread out on the table.
"Tomorrow, we'll be taking a boat trip to explore the nearby islands and coastal areas," he announced. "We'll have the chance to observe water Pokémon in their natural habitats and learn about their interactions with the environment."
The excitement in the room was palpable. A boat trip sounded like the perfect way to immerse ourselves in the world of water Pokémon.
"Make sure you get a good night's rest," Professor Oak continued. "We'll be up early to make the most of our day."
As we left the conference room, I couldn't help but feel a surge of anticipation. This trip was turning out to be even more amazing than I had imagined. Then I heard something.
"Charizard is 100% better"
"Nuh uh"
Ahh, things just won't change with them... Oh well, time to head to our rooms.
