Make Up Work Club Classroom
"Morning everyone," The teacher entered the classroom.
"Good morning Sensei!" Hifumi returned the greeting cheerily.
Azusa nodded silently while Koharu had her attention deep in a book. The teacher raised his brow. "Good morning, Koharu."
The girl still didn't respond. Hifumi tilted her head. "Want me to?"
The teacher shook his head, "Allow me."
With catlike strides, he snuck up behind the girl and peered over her shoulder. Upon seeing the book, he raised his brow. "Oh my, I didn't know such content was part of the Trinity reading list."
Like a feral cat, Koharu shot out of her chair and tried to claw the teacher's face. "Hey! Wha-don't look at that!"
The teacher chuckled as he deftly evaded the girl's hands and instead plucked the book from her hands. "I think I'll be holding onto this until class time is over."
He glanced over to the pink haired student, expecting her to make a comment or tease, but instead he found her slumped on her desk, her eyes half open. Still keeping the book out of reach of Koharu, he casually strolled over to Hanako. "Morning sleepy head."
"...I 'ate you…" Came the grumpy voice from the mess of pink hair.
"It's time for class. You'd better get up."
"S'ut up…let me sleep." the blob of hair and angst retorted. "Tish is all your fault."
The teacher sighed, "But I was just about to hand out the practice exams."
Finally, the mess of pink pair and skin raised itself to reveal a student with dark circles around her eyes. "Fine, just 'ive it to me. I'll acesh shit. Shen you let me sheep…"
"If you really can, I guess I can let you do that." Sensei shrugged.
Dodging an attempt from Koharu to leap from her desk to grab the contraband, he allowed her to fly past him and crash into another set of desks and chairs. "Koharu, please return to your seat. Testing is about to start."
He returned to his desk at the front. "Right then, Hifumi, pass out the tests and we'll get started on the hour."
As she stood up, Hifumi gave the teacher a concerned look, but he waved her off. "Don't worry. Just pass out the tests."
Hifumi nodded, taking the stack of papers on the desk and beginning to hand them out as Koharu begrudgingly returned to her desk.
The teacher looked up at the clock in the back of the room. "Right then, you may begin your tests…NOW!"
Make Up Work Club Cafeteria
Hifumi looked over her exam results and smiled. "An 85 isn't bad, right Sensei?"
"If it passes, then it passes." Sensei agreed. "Azusa, you've definitely improved, getting a 67. Nicely done."
"Your encouragement was of great assistance." The silver haired student gave her stoic look.
The four were seated around the lunch table, enjoying their lunch. Koharu seemed to be stuck in her book while Hanako was slumped on the table, softly snoring.
"Do you feel proud of your accomplishment?" The teacher asked the silver haired girl.
Azusa frowned as she thought about it before smiling softly. "Yes. The test was difficult and hard. But by studying and working hard, I managed to pass it. I feel…proud."
"Thatta girl." Sensei nodded in approval. "Meet me after class and I'll give you some tips on how to spot observers and watchers."
"Yes, Sensei."
Hifumi watched the two banter before her eyes lit up. "Oh, I almost forgot. I had brought rewards to those who passed the exam."
She picked up her backpack and pulled out a large plastic bag. Opening the bag, she took out a trio of stuffed animals. The teacher smiled. "Ah, I see you opened up your Per-"
"-SO CUTE!"
The two turned to see the silver haired girl uncharacteristically pick up one of the stuffed animals, her eyes widened as she spun around, holding it high. "These are so adorable. Where did you get them?"
"From my collection. They were the spares I had and I thought it would be nice to-"
"You mean you have more of them?" Azusa stared at the tawny haired girl in disbelief. "As in…a lot of them?"
Hifumi's eyes lit up. "Yes, I have a ton of them! Do you like them?"
The silver haired fanatic nodded, "Yes! They're super cute. They make me want to hug them all." She frowned, "What are they called?"
"Ahh, they're from a show called Momo Friends. The one you're holding is called Peroro. Do you like her?"
Azusa froze. "Peroro?"
"FOR PERORO!"
BAM!
"FOR PERORO!"
BAM!
"FOR PERORO!"
BAM!
Slowly but surely, the silver haired girl turned away and shook her head. "No…P-Peroro."
"Y-you don't like Peroro?" Hifumi's jaw dropped in disbelief. "B-But…"
The teacher frowned as he watched Azusa's eyes carefully. Noticing the clear signs of panic and distrust, he gave the a pat on the shoulder. "You know, maybe you could offer her a different stuffed animal. There are plenty of friends in Momo Friends."
"Oh, that's right!" the tawny haired girl's head perked up as she put the white bird back into her bag. "There's plenty of other members, like Captain Momo, Yuusha Ashby, Ast Rickley, and…ahah!" She pulled a black demon like creature, "This is Skullman."
Now certain that the white monster was gone, Azusa looked over the other plushies before setting her eyes on the black demon. "This one is…It's cute I guess."
"A good choice." The teacher nodded in approval. "Skullman acts mean and rude at first to those he doesn't trust, but once he gets to know them, he's actually very kind and protective of his friends."
"That's the perfect choice for Azusa!" Hifumi agreed. "Don't you think Azusa?"
The silver haired girl carefully looked over the black demonic creature. "You are protective of your friends? You are a good person."
With that, she pressed Skullman against her chest and wrapped her arms around it. "I approve of this plushie."
Hifumi and Sensei shared a high five. "We got another convert."
The teacher leaned in closely to speak only to the Peroro addict. "Just be certain not to show her Peroro. Azusa might need more time to get used to that her."
Hifumi nodded. "Sounds good. I'll do that."
With that matter out of the way, the teacher turned back to his other two students. "I believe it's time to get back to studying."
Koharu didn't respond, her head still stuck in her book while Hanako's head was slumped against the table, a faint snore heard from her.
"Umm…is there a reason why Hanako is so sleepy?" Hifumi asked in concern. "I've never seen her like this?"
"Don't think too hard about it, Hifumi." Sensei smiled, "Just let me handle them."
With the same cat like strides, he snuck up to the pair of slackers and put his finger to his lips. Hifumi and Azusa didn't make a noise, their eyes wide to see what he was going to do.
Raising his hand slowly, the teacher counted to three before slamming his hand on the lunch table hard. The resounding noise resounded through the room.
"NYAA!"
Koharu reacted alright. She jumped three feet into the air before dropping back to her seat, her eyes wide and alert. .
On the opposite side, the pink haired sleeper merely snorted and turned her head over.
Azusa's eyes widened. "That was impressive. I didn't know one could sleep through that."
The teacher leaned in and spoke slowly. "Hanako, it's time to return to classes."
"...fine…"
Sensei turned to Azusa and Hifumi and gave them a thumbs up. Koharu stared at the teacher in disbelief while Hanako grumbled.
As the school bell rang, Sensei put down his piece of chalk and turned to his tablet. "Alright, that will be it for tonight. I'll give you an hour for personal recuperation and exercise until dinner at 1800. You are dismissed."
Hifumi stretched her arms up and stifled a yawn as she stood up from her desk. "Thank you, Sensei!"
Koharu rolled her eyes as she jerkily got out of her own seat and walked towards the classroom exit, Hanako and Hifumi close behind her. Only Azusa remained seated, her eyes carefully observing the teacher.
Sensei raised his brow as he reached for his blackboard eraser. "I believe I told you you were dismissed, Azusa."
The silver haired girl stood up and robotically marched towards the teacher. "Sensei, you told me you would teach me about observing sniper scopes if I passed the quiz."
Now remembering, the teacher nodded. "That's right, I did. And you passed the quiz. Well done."
He passed her the blackboard eraser. "I need to clean up the classroom and log my lecture objectives, but if you can help me with the blackboard, I'll quickly fill in my report. Then we can head outside and go over some observation training, sounds good?"
Azusa nodded, taking the eraser and walking over to the blackboard. As the student worked, Sensei sat down at his desk and turned on his tablet. "Arona, how does it look?"
"Everyone has been making steady progress, Sensei." The AI chirped. "Azusa and Koharu are getting closer to the objective. Hifumi isn't progressing as fast, but her grades were already passable."
Arona rolled her eyes, "Hanako scored a 100."
"As expected." The teacher nodded, "After last night, it's clear that she was purposely failing exams. Thankfully, she's a lot more motivated now to pass."
"Sensei," The AI pointed out, "You dropped the biggest scandal of the year on her lap and basically forced her to actually care about the club and the treaty."
"I never forced her." Sensei countered, "I did nothing of the sort. She simply insisted on getting involved."
"Sure, Sensei. Whatever makes you feel better." Arona drolled.
"Since when did you start getting sassy with me?" The teacher frowned in concern. "Haru wasn't remotely this bad. Have you been learning from Rinny?"
"I…don't know. The point is Sensei, I wouldn't need to be like this if you were actually capable of not screwing things up."
Sensei was about to respond when he felt a presence behind him. Turning around slowly, "I see you finished?"
Azusa nodded, handing him back his blackboard eraser. "I finished. When will you finish?"
Noticing the eagerness in her eyes, the teacher smiled. "Yes, I'm almost done. How about you head outside with your rifle scope and I'll grab my maintenance kit and then we can get started?"
"I'll be there." The silver haired student nodded before exiting the classroom, grabbing her rifle and slinging it over her shoulder.
Sensei watched the door close before sighing. "Right then, Arona, let's go over the progress for the Tea Party…"
Crack! Ping! Shuck-Shuck!

Koharu put down her rifle and sighed, "Empty clip."
Four hundred meters away, the metal plate stood, with several dents inside. The JTF member glared at the target before sliding in another clip. She raised her rifle and peered down the ironsights.
Crack! Ping! Shuck-Shuck!
Crack! Ping! Shuck-Shuck!
Crack! Ping! Shuck-Shuck!
Crack! Ping! Shuck-Shuck!
Crack! Ping! Shuck-Shuck!
Crack! Ping! Shuck-Shuck!
Click!
The JTF "Elite" frowned. "Empty clip already?"
She lowered her rifle and looked around. The open field around the Make Up Work Club building was just large enough that she could see everything going on around her. The Trintiy students walking to and from the main campus, the regular JTF patrol unit, a couple of students meandering a little ways away, Sensei and Azusa seated on the grass with their weapons, and…
Wait.
Koharu spun her head back to see the blue haired teacher sitting on the grass with a tarp before him and her silver haired classmate. Laid out on the tarp was what looked like a stripped down rifle scope. Sensei seemed to be showing Azusa different components, with Azusa taking notes as he lectured.
The pink haired JTF member was tempted to go down and watch when she remembered the teacher's conditions for the lesson. Azusa had passed her quiz. Koharu hadn't. And thus, Sensei probably would prefer that the pink haired student not join in on his lecture.
Koharu sighed. She knew how bad her grades were. She was just not good at it. It wasn't her strength! That's right, she was an elite, one of Hasumi's most trusted She was beyond such trivial things like exams and grades!
"What am I kidding?" Koharu mumbled, recalling her conversation with Hasumi just before she had joined.
"Koharu, this is serious. I am not one to overlook talent and skills, but your grades are atrocious. I cannot have a member of the JTF fail their exams repeatedly."
"But I am trying my best!" Koharu protested. "I'm acing all my weapon exams and JTF courses! Just let me prove myself on the field and-"
"Koharu, if you fail your grades, I will have to expel you!"
The junior winced at her senior's serious tone. "I…I see…"
Hasumi noticed the girl's expression and sighed. "Please, just go to the Make Up Work Club and get some help. Once you pass the exams, I'll accept you back into the JTF with open arms, alright?"
Wiping a tear from her eyes, Koharu nodded glumly.
Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out another clip and slid it into her rifle's feeder chamber.
"Damn, you went hard on those targets."
Koharu spun around to see a white haired girl leaning against the wall of the Boot Camp building. Her eyes narrowed, "Who are you?"
The white haired girl chuckled, raising her hands casually. "What? Don't recognize a member of the Vigilante Crew?"
"Vigilante Crew?"
"Are the JTF too arrogant to recognize the girls who work in the dark for them?"
Koharu protested, "That's not what I meant!"
The Vigilante held out a hand. "Morizuki Suzumi. And you are Shimoe Koharu, member of the Justice Task Force…and a member of the Make Up Work Club for failing grades."
"Shut up! The reason I got those is because-"
I'm not good enough for the JTF
Koharu winced, "Ahh…never mind."
Suzumi gestured over to the sight of the teacher showing off a reassembled scope to a sparkly eyed Azusa.
"What's keeping you from joining them?"
The sniper groaned, "Azusa passed her quiz…I…"
You're a failure
"I…I'm not allowed to."
The vigilante frowned, "Huh, well then, if your classmate gets a special lesson because she passed Sensei's test, then how about I give you a special lesson if you pass my test?"
"Your test?" Koharu raised her brow.
Suzumi stood up and walked up to the girl, unslinging her rifle from her shoulder. She pointed at a pair of targets six hundred meters away. "How about those two? First to put 10 in the deadzone wins."
The JTF student stared at the Vigilante's Sig MCX assault rifle. "That's it? I don't know my Sig rifles very well, but don't they max out around 500 meters?"
"Relax, I got this." With that, she raised her rifle to her chest and closed one eye, bringing the other to be level with the tactical rail. A second later, she squeezed the trigger, sending a bullet shooting out of the barrel.
Koharu heard the target ping against the target and raised her own rifle scope to observe. Sure enough, a small ding was a mere two inches from the target. "Wha-how?"
Suzumi frowned, "I missed. Guess I'm more rusty than I thought."
She raised her rifle and cracked out a trio of shots. Koharu realized she was running behind and raised her own Enfield. The pair shot in silence, their complete attention and focus being put into putting shots into the target. Clips and magazines dropped to the ground without either of them noticing.
Finally, Koharu gave a cry of celebration. "Did it!"
She put her rifle down and panted as sweat poured down her face. "I did it. I actually beat you."
Suzumi raised her brow as she lowered her rifle, looking none the worse, "What are you talking about? You had the bolt action. I had the semi automatic. Of course you were going to win."
The sniper sent a glare at her rival. "What are you talking about? I thought you were going to win, what with the way you kept nailing shots into the deadzone. How did you do that?"
The vigilante smirked. "Lots and lots of practice."
She glanced back at the teacher and silver haired student watching them from afar. The blue haired teacher returned a smile and gave a thumbs up. "Right then, you passed the test, so you get a special lesson, courtesy of yours truly."
Koharu frowned, "I agreed to the test just because you forced me into it, but what can you actually teach me?"
Suzumi gave the JTF member a knowing look. "I know you think you're all hot stuff because you're JTF, but don't underestimate us Vigilante Crew members. You already saw my sharpshooting."
"I guess so. But don't you guys normally just hunt delinquents and trouble makers?" The JTF member raised her brow. "Hasumi and Tsurugi lead the JTF to much more dangerous missions and assignments on a regular basis."
"Sure, that is what it looks like on the outside." The Vigilante rolled her eyes, "Everyone sees the JTF and everyone remembers the JTF when they do a big bust. But you know how they can pull off those big busts? Who gives them their intel? Who finds their targets and sets up those gangs to be caught by the JTF?"
Koharu frowned, "Doesn't the JTF do that? We have an intelligence department. Also we work alongside the Tea Party and Sisterhood's networks. Where does the Vigilante Crew fit in?"
"That is where you're both right and wrong." Suzumi agreed, "Yes, Hasumi, Tsurugi, and the other heads of the JTF have good intelligence services and cooperate with other factions here in Trinity, but they also have their own limitations."
She held up a finger, "For example, the JTF is the primary law enforcement and peacekeeping force in Trinity, but they have to uphold their own rules and regulations. They need search warrants, or need to be called in by the Sisterhood, Tea Party, or regular students. They rarely are allowed to instigate their own investigations or catch a crime before it even begins."
"That makes sense." The JTF member nodded, "Such measures exist to keep us in check and prevent us from trespassing over the rights of students."
"Exactly! And I agree, a public law enforcement force like the JTF needs checks to keep it in balance. But sometimes, those checks can restrict them from taking action when it truly matters. If you talk to Hasumi, I'm sure she would agree with me. That's where the Vigilante Crew comes into play."
Koharu paused as she tried to keep up. "The Vigilante crew…doesn't have those restrictions?"
Suzumi gave her a thumbs up, "Pretty much. We're technically just a group of volunteer students in an independent club. But in exchange, we don't operate on a search warrant or have to get called in. We patrol independently and have the skills and equipment your typical JTF member doesn't have. And if we actually find something big, then we "normal students" can call in the JTF."
"I can see how that is useful." Koharu agreed, "It's just, we never learned that in our basic training."
"It's not a story Hasumi would tell you." Suzumi chuckled, "She doesn't like to admit it, but she relies on us to get around red tape, observe hard to reach parts of the district, and most importantly…get around politics."
The JTF member winced. "Politics?"
"Every faction has secrets they want to protect." The Vigilante lowered her voice. "And oftentimes, they're not the legal kind of secrets. And if said factions use their authority to keep the JTF from acting, then Hasumi can't catch their illegal activity."
"But since you don't answer to the Tea Party or the Sisterhood, you can investigate them…?" Koharu didn't really like where the conversation was going.
"Pretty much." Suzumi nodded, "Remember when several Pater Faction members got arrested for stockpiling illegal weapons last year? Ever wonder how Hasumi knew about those weapons?"
Koharu's eyes widened. "That was you guys?"
"I can neither confirm nor deny." The Vigilante smirked, "So then, do you think this upperclassmen can teach you a few tricks?"
The JTF member nodded, "Yes please."
Suzumi smirked, "Right then. Let's go over your role as a sniper. What goes into your job as a sniper?"
"I need to provide covering fire and neutralize targets of high value." Koharu recited.
"Good, Hasumi trained you well. But what happens when someone sees you and decides to shoot back?"
"Then I need to fall back, reposition, and resume when I can get a clear shot."
"But how do you know if you're going to get shot at? What if your opponent is another sniper?"
Koharu frowned, "I think I would notice if I was getting shot at…"
"But a sniper only needs one shot, wouldn't they?"
The sniper paused. "Oh…they would…"
"Exactly." Suzumi nodded, "That's why today we're going to go over how to spot a sniper or spotter in your vicinity."
She glanced around the open field with buildings surrounding them several hundred meters away. "Actually, we can start with that one."
Koharu squinted. "Where?"
Suzumi handed Koharu a set of binoculars and pointed. "Look in that direction. The Fifth Institute rooftop has a sniper and spotter set up on its rooftop."
Raising the binoculars, the JTF member looked through opticals. She frowned, "Okay, I see the rooftop but I don't see anyone on top of it."
"What do you see?"
"I see the caged fence around the rooftop, and a pile of refuse on the far side. Nothing else."
"Look closely in that pile of refuse." Suzumi knelt next to Koharu and pointed her finger. "The refuse pile looks pretty inconspicuous, but you can just barely see a rifle barrel and the glint of a spotting scope next to it."
The sniper narrowed her eyes as she zoomed in. Sure enough, after a moment of looking, she found a very clear rifle barrel sticking out from the pile in their direction. A moment later, she saw the glint of a scope next to it. She jerked back. "Umm…they're pointing at us. You think we should do something?"
Suzumi nodded. "Yeah, I got just the thing."
With that, she stood up and waved over to the sniper and spotter duo.
Trinity Fifth Institute
"Shoot, put away the rifle!"
"What?"
"I said put that thing away!" Kayoko cursed as she put away her scope. "We've been spotted."
She pulled her radio. "Haruka, our location has been compromised! Get the van around, we need to regroup."
Next to her, Aru carefully withdrew her sniper rifle from her location. "How did they see us?"
The white haired Problem Solver shook her head. "It's not like we weren't completely hidden. It's completely possible that we would have been spotted if someone were actually looking for us."
Under her breath, she muttered, "I thought only Teacher Ao and Otogi could spot snipers without need for visual assistance."
The red haired Problem Solver frowned, "So we're going to withdraw?"
Kayoko nodded, "Pretty much. These JTF outfits we're wearing will help us avoid being recognized as Gehenna students, but if we stick around here, they might realize we're not actually JTF members."
Aru stood up and brushed off her outfit. "It was very nice that you had these outfits lying around. Where did you get these anyways?"
"The client provided them." The senior member responded, packing up her own surveillance kit, "Don't think too hard about it."
The Problem Solver leader raised her brow. "Kayoko, I trust you a lot. We all trust you. That's why we didn't question where you got this commission from. But we spent the last week stalking the Schale Sensei and that's it." She frowned, "It just doesn't seem right. This isn't how Problem Solver 68 is supposed to operate. Are you sure everything is alright?"
Kayoko gave her friend a soft smile. "Thanks for worrying, but I'm alright. I've been sending the data to our client and they're very satisfied with our results. What matters is that our client is concerned about the activities of Teacher, I mean, the Schale Sensei."
Aru gave her teammate a concerned look but sighed. "'Tis truly the life of an outlaw, a life of bonds, of friendship, and of trust. Alright then, Kayoko. Let's wrap up and move out!"
Make Up Work Club building
That evening, Sensei stifled a yawn as he stretched out on his chair. "Right then, time for my own studying. Arona, bring up the content for tomorrow's lesson. What do I need to know?"
"Of course, Sensei." The AI chirped. "Azusa and Koharu need to work on cubic roots, Hifumi needs help in balancing chemical equations, and Hanako needs no assistance."
"Thank you Arona." The teacher frowned, "Go over cubic roots. What are cubic roots?"
"Of course Sensei," Arona smiled, bringing up a presentation. "A cubic root is…SENSEI, INTRUDER ALERT!"
The teacher jerked out of his chair and reached for his rifle. "Bring up camera feed and intel."
"Unknown female wearing dark clothing. Spotted breaking into the pool enclosure."
Sensei ran through the halls, checking how many clips he had on him. "Dammit, I only got two clips. Better make this count."
He paused outside of the building entrance, rifle held at the ready. "Arona, where is she?"
"She's…just sitting on one of the pool chairs…"
The teacher frowned as he raised the tablet to see the feed. Sure enough, the dark figure was simply lounging on of the chairs, her legs crossed over in a relaxed position. "What the…"
He sighed, "Ok, the intruder doesn't seem to be hostile, but we can't take chances."
Counting to three, Sensei slowly opened the door and peered out, barrel first. Slowly, he exited the building and made his way towards the intruder's location, her back turned to him. He raised his rifle. "Put your hands up nice and slowly."
The figure raised her hands and giggled a high pitch laugh. "Why Sensei, that's no way to treat a princess."
The teacher raised his brow as the figure stood up and turned around, revealing a certain pink haired girl dressed in a dark bodysuit and head covering.
"Misono Mika?"
