Anime Insaniac chapter 2: I like where the reviewer is coming from as far as using youkai, however, if you try to go in that direction, you might want to consider using the Bijuu as the main reference point. And I'm not talking about all the animals in Naruto, they only used 3 of the Bijuu from the legend. 3 of them wouldn't be usable because of their elemental affinities or simple affiliation. I can also specify which one would work for which ranger, although some are obvious.
Ichibi no Tanuki: 1-Tailed RacoonDog, Shukaku
Element: Wind(White or Pink Ranger)
Nibi no Nekomata: 2-Tailed Cat
Element: Darkness(Not Applicable, this one is the pet of the Shinigami, too much of a risk of death)
Sanbi no Same: 3-Tailed Shark, Isonade
Element: Water(Blue Ranger)
Yonbi: 4-Tailed hybrid of a bird and lizard, Soukou
Element: Poison(Not Applicable, POISON, Enough Said)
Gobi no Inu: 5-Tailed Dog, Houkou
Element: Illusion(Black or White Ranger)
What's interesting about the 5-Tailed Dog is that each tail represents a different element, Wind, Water, Fire, Earth and Lightning.

Element: Lightning(Yellow Ranger)
Nanabi no Kaku: 8-Tailed Badger
Element: Earth(Black or Green Ranger)

Chapter 4: Project Legacy
It's been only a month since they were teleported to the Command Center and David was quite happy. He got to spend time with his daughter installing equipment in the command center that was 10 times more advanced than any equipment he could ever get. For both of them, it was like kids in a candy store, and to his surprise izuku was quite knowledgeable about engineering himself. He was nowhere near the level of himself and Melissa of course. But his theories on possible uses of the equipment, their capabilities, and theoretical modifications or upgrades are quite amazing. It was clear to David that even if they didn't get the chance to become a Power Ranger, izuku and Melissa would have made great Heroes by simply working together.
His musings were cut short by a phone call. Answering the phone and hearing the voice on the other end, He quickly recognized the emotionless voice of his boss. He did not know how long he sat there listening to the man, even when the man hung up he did not move from the spot he sat at. It was only when he heard the voice of Deca that snapped him out of his shock-induced stupor.
"David is everything okay? I could tell from your reaction to that phone call that you got, that you received some bad news. Is there anything I could do to help?" Deca said obviously worried.
David did not know if he could tell her. But then again she is an AI and she was programmed not to lie. So he swiveled the seat that he was in towards one of her cameras and asked her a question.
"Can you keep a secret?" David asked.
"David I have privacy protocols built-in to my programming. I'm incapable of telling anyone anything when it comes to personal information that the individual does not want to be disclosed. For this reason, I was a confidant for most of the Power Rangers. Although I must warn you if you tell me something that May Danger the lives of any of the Rangers, Power Ranger operations, the innocent, or yourself, I will inform the others." Decca said calmly and in a reassuring tone.
David was quite happy such a protocol existed, it was like having a therapist that you can trust from day one not to spill your secrets. With that thought in mind, he decided to tell her.
"My research and prototype that I've been working on have been seized by I-island and I was fired. All because they deemed what I was working on too dangerous." David said dejectedly.
David wasn't too concerned about being fired. After working at I-Island for 10 years he was quite wealthy. It was his research that made him upset, for five long years he's been working on this prototype to help his friend and it's all gone now.
"And what have you been working on that would provoke such a reaction from your employers? " Deca says curiously but in a tone that a trained therapist would use.
David debated only for a few seconds if he should tell her. After reminding himself that the research would most likely be destroyed as well as the Prototype locked away in the I-Island Vault. Which, was one of the most secure places in the world, there was really no point in not telling her.
" I was working on a quirk enhancement device, It had the capability of increasing somebody's quirk Factor by a factor of 20. Although you do not need to worry about the prototype and the research. I-Island most likely destroyed my research and locked away the Prototype to prevent it from being used." David said with a sigh.
" I got to know you quite well over this month David, I know you wouldn't create such a dangerous device without a reason and it must have been a desperate one. If you wish to tell me your plight perhaps I could help you. I do contain all of the knowledge and records of everything the Power Rangers have encountered and developed."
Hearing this brought hope to David's eyes, but this meant telling somebody about one of his closest friends Secret. Then he remembered DECA wouldn't be able to tell anybody thanks to the privacy protocols. So he told her about All Might's injuries and how he was losing the capability of using his quirk. How he was hoping to use the Quirk-enhancing device to fix that.
" I see, luckily what you described of his injuries there might be something that we could do. "
Activating a monitor in front of David she showed a circular chamber that looked something similar to a Bacta tank from Star Wars. It was a pre-quirk movie that was recently introduced to the group by Tommy and his wife.
"This is a healing chamber, using the morphing grid energy and multiple chemical compounds. It has the capability of regenerating internal organs and even entire limbs. But there are problems with this idea. You see we do not have the required materials to build it and the chemical compounds are quite expensive. " Deca Explained as she showed the materials and chemical compounds required.
She was right the chemicals are going to be quite expensive, but David had that covered. " I have a couple of contacts who deal with these chemicals regularly, so I should be able to get ahold of them quite easily. The materials though would be a problem. I have the money to order them but nowhere to deliver them two and I'm pretty sure it would be suspicious if I told them to deliver them to a beach full of trash. " David said as he Strokes his chin in thought.
"May I offer a suggestion then? " Tommy says as he appears on one of the monitors out of nowhere. This shocked David.
"How long have you been listening and how much do you know?" David said a little bit nervous. He was hoping to keep this between him and Deca.
" I heard everything after you got off your phone call. I'm sorry that I eavesdropped, but you were going to have to inform me anyway if you were going to use those blueprints." Tommy said shrugging.
David just sighed upon hearing this. "Okay that's fair, so what is your suggestion then?"
"two words, Takoba Beach." Tommy said, but seeing David's Confused expression he decided to elaborate. " Takoba Beach is right above us as you know, and it's one of the biggest trash heaps I have ever seen. It's full of all sorts of goodies that we could Salvage. This is also a good opportunity to increase the training of Melissa and Izuku." Tommy said smiling
David nods in agreement upon hearing this, but another thought crosses his mind, and decides to voice it. "How goes their training anyway, and weren't you supposed to be training them today."
"Oh yes, their training is going well, Melissa and izuku are in the simulator sparring with Kimberly." Tommy says nonchalantly. David could not help but flinch in sympathy for his daughter and friend.
Kimberly was quite intense when training them, Every time they came out of one of their spars they were completely exhausted and covered in bruises. At least they're not going against Tommy at the moment Since he was even worse. His thoughts wandered a bit to the piece of Power Ranger Tech that made David and Melissa's day when they were asked to install it. The simulator was a piece of power Ranger tech that made It possible for them to be trained by the two legendary Rangers in the first place. Within a small area, it allowed the creation of solid Holograms, which allowed Tommy and Kimberly to manifest themselves and any enemy that you could think of.
But there were limitations to this though, especially when it came to Tommy and Kimberly. Since Tommy and Kimberly were human before they became AI, their holographic forms are limited to what their previous bodies were like at their Prime. So they could not increase their strength, durability, or reaction time. Which was pretty fine since they were already pretty strong thanks to their experience of being a Power Ranger.
"I Hope she's not going too hard on them, I would not want to explain to Mrs. Midoriya if her son comes back looking like he went through a war zone. " David said amused at the thought.
"Don't worry I'm making sure to only leave bruises and I'll be the one to explain if she has any problems. " Kimberly says as her image appears on one of the monitors.
" Wait, what are you doing here Kimberly, weren't you supposed to be training Izuku and Melissa?" David said surprised.
" I was until we got results from the Legacy protocol, " Kimberly says seriously.
"Wait, what's the Legacy protocol," David asked curiously.
"I think it will be better if we get everybody together before we discuss it any further so we're not explaining it multiple times." Tommy said which made the rest of them nod in agreement.
As inko arrived she was greeted by the sight of a disheveled Izuku and Melissa, they were covered head to toe in bruises and small cuts and scrapes. The two were huddled around the consoles in the middle of the Command Center with David. The images of Kimberly and Tommy were also on the monitors. As she heads to the group she speaks up.
"What was so urgent that you needed me to come here immediately? I was just getting ready to make dinner after all, And why is my son and Melissa look like they just came out of a war zone?" Inko said, a little bit annoyed and tired from the long day.
"We're sorry for interrupting your dinner preparations inko, but what we have to talk about is very important. As for your son and Melissa, they just finished a round of intensive training which you can talk to Kimberly about later," Deca said. Seeing no further protests deca continued.
"3 Days ago we were able to contact 4 out of the 24 Possible candidates from the Legacy program," Deca said.
"Legacy program what's that? " Izuku asked curiously.
This time it was Kimberly who spoke up. "It's something that me and Tommy created Using already existing blueprints that Billy made. It was supposed to be the original way for us to find candidates. But it took longer than we thought for the morphing grid to regenerate itself. Hell, it would have been even longer if it wasn't for the destruction of Mirinoi. Anyway, we designed little devices that when activated will scan the area for somebody related to one of the original Power Rangers. These little devices hold enough grid energy to last a hundred years And since it's been around 200 they obviously ran out of juice. It was only 3 days ago when 4 of them reactivated due to the recharging function. To be honest we weren't even expecting them to reactivate because the power core would have decayed past the point of not being functional. So you can imagine when 4 out of the 24 devices that we Handed out sent back a signal, and Confirming that 4 candidates meet all our criteria Was quite a surprise for us."
"And two convenient," Tommy added which Kimberly nodded.
"Yes, We are worried that they modified these devices to give back false readings. that's why I am currently organizing a meeting with the three candidates' parents In a public setting. We just have to pick a spot that we feel comfortable with. I have located several spots with multiple Hero Patrols nearby and in a public enough venue. So if they try anything they would have multiple Heroes on them within minutes. We'll also have to decide who will be going and if we should not have izuku and Melissa there." Kimberly said Finishing her explanation.
"I'll go, but I think I should go by myself. We cannot expose Melissa or izuku quite yet, especially on the first meeting, " David said. But before izuku and his daughter could protest he continued.
"Deca and I have been working on extending the range of the teleporter. All I have to do is make a beacon of sorts and have it on me at all times. I can also connect Deca and Tommy to my tablet so they can talk during the meeting. I also have combat experience which I developed during my time as All Might sidekick. So anything happens I could easily get away or hold out until help arrives."
"I will have to agree with David on this one. He is the best candidate to go out of the four of you. We cannot expose Melissa and Izuku quite yet. Especially when they can only hold their Ranger forms for a minute before being completely exhausted." Tommy said agreeing with David.
"This also brings us to our next topic. We will increase your training. Will do this by making you two clean the entirety of Takoba Municipal Beach. Doing this will increase your strength and stamina. This will also allow us to scavenge for parts for projects that David and Melissa are working on." Tommy said
After that statement, Inko left to finish up dinner. Kimberly took izuku and Melissa to the training room to smack them around a couple more times before dinner. This left David in his thoughts and after a small moment, you could easily see the Flames of determination in his eyes.
'I will save All might and more importantly, I will save my friend.' David thought as he vowed to himself that He would save him no matter the cost. Turning around to the closest terminal he started working on the device that would heal his friend.
