What if Drew McIntyre wasn't fired
2014's spring cleaning of the WWE roster saw two members of lovable jobber heel group 3MB get fired, in canon it was Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre.
When both returned, they saw huge improvements in regards to their previous positions. With Jinder becoming WWE champion, which was totally natural and not at all a desperate attempt to capitalize on the Indian Market, and Drew winning the 2020 Royal Rumble and winning the WWE title.
But this time, Heath was fired in Drew's place.
And so, without his friends Drew was basically in roster purgatory. Used as enhancement talent to elevate other stars until his contract expired, being stuck in WWE kept him from rebuilding himself into the star he was always destined to be.
So no NXT stint, no tag reign with Dolph, no Wrestlemania moment, none of it came because Drew never got fired that year.
