What if Charlotte Flair was never added to the WM35 main event story?

The first ever all female main event of Wrestlemania was an achievement for women's wrestling, however it was littered with questionable decisions. Becky Lynch was riding high on her popularity since becoming the Man in WWE, her rumble win gave her the chance to vie for either women's championship.

And she picked Ronda Rousey Raw Women's championship.

However, Stephanie and Vince MacMahon feared that the injury sustained by Lynch during the rumble would be too severe for her to be cleared by Mania, they replaced her with Charlotte Flair. That video has remained WWE's most disliked video on YouTube even when they blocked dislikes because reasons.

The fans have long grown tired of Charlotte always in the title picture and for being propped up at the expense of other talent, like Roman Reigns back when he was John Cena 2.0 except without the plastic surgery. And the fan support of Rousey had almost completely vanished after Survivor Series where her own home town booed her out of the building.

The triple threat match, though historic, was to put it lightly... mediocre. Not the worst main event, but not the greatest. On top of coming after 6 and a half hours of wrestling content, the action was clunky at times and the finish was totally botched as the ref counted the final pin, even though Rousey's shoulders were way up during the count. Also it was winner take all and Charlotte beat Asuka to win the Smackdown women's title, because Charlotte Flair.

Would things be different if Charlotte wasn't included? Hmmmmmmmmm.

Becky wins the rumble, which was good. And she picked Rousey to face, which set up the dream match of Becky and Ronda at Mania 35. And she didn't get injured, which meant that the MacMahon's had no need to bring in Charlotte.

With that, Charlotte was put into a feud with Asuka for her Smackdown women's championship. With the queen winning an elimination chamber match to determine who would face the Empress of Tomorrow at Mania. Asuka would go on to get her win back after a gruelling match that saw Asuka put Flair to sleep with the Asuka Lock.

And in Rousey and Becky's feud, was fairly similar to how the original timeline went. With the former UFC champion and hall of famer getting more angry at the fans booing her out of buildings. Rousy called out the fans for their habit of singing the praises of those that sacrificed their health in the squared circle, and then dumping on them for almost no viable reason.

When it came time for the showcase of the immortals, the first women's main event of WrestleMania was a one on one match between Rousy and Becky. After a long night of wrestling, where Seth and Kofi won their world title matches, and the PPV and preshow had gone on for nearly 7 hours. The crowd were still exhausted, but the two women still managed to keep them entertained before they went home.

The bout was hard hitting, a couple slips on spots. Rousy was still new to wrestling professionally. But luckily this time, the closing crucifix pinfall wasn't botched as Rousy's shoulders were kept firmly on the mat.

Becky was now Raw Women's champion, Rousy left in maternity leave. She had her year long reign, and Charlotte ended up winning the Smackdown's women's title from Asuka at Money in the Bank. But after she attacked Asuka after the match, Bayley made the save and beat Charlotte down with the briefcase she won earlier in the night. Then after some deliberation cashed it in, and hit an elbow drop to pin Charlotte and win the title.
