Sea of Monsters Chapter 9:

The Calm before the Storm.

(Warning: This chapter contains sexually explicit content…and one horny snek lady. Viewer discretion….and possible horniness, is heavily advised.)

Day 19

Dawn was starting to crack. The repairs to the Golden Hind were finished yesterday, thanks to the help of Asterios and Perseus. While they all agreed that leaving the next day would be preferable, a huge storm forced them to remain on land until noon the next day when the storm would subside. However, not to let this opportunity slide, Drake took this as an opportunity to have everyone celebrate the repairs to the ship. All throughout the night, food and drink were plentiful, and Drake was not one to let drinks go to waste. The entire time, she and Medusa would drink just enough for a slight buzz, and started to flirt back and forth, much to everyone's amusement. To no one's surprise, they snuck away at some point, and weren't seen for the rest of the night.

And so the tale resumes at dawn the next day.

In an unspecified tent, two women woke up at the same time, naked as the day they were born. Drake yawned as she realized she was still spooning Medusa, and the Rider turned to look at her. Both women couldn't help but grin in amusement at the arrangement before Medusa turned her body around to face Drake better, their naked breasts pressed and squishing together.

"Well that was a lot of fun." Medusa said.

"Yeah, this was exactly what I needed." Drake said. "I was pretty pent up."

"I was in the same boat." Medusa said. "Honestly I'm glad we could…..solve that problem."

"Well you were pretty good, not going to lie." Drake replied.

"And you were more tender and loving than I thought you'd be." Medusa said flirtatiously.

"I make it a priority to make sure my partners genuinely love the experience." Drake chimed.

Medusa grinned. "You think you can handle another round or two then?"

Drake grinned back and kissed Medusa, the Rider reciprocated, allowing their tongues to dance for a moment. Drake took the opportunity to slide her hands down Medusa's toned stomach before finding their way to their target. Medusa purred with delight as the pirate fingered her gently, causing the Rider to grind her hips slowly to the thrusts of Drake's fingers in her pussy. They soon broke their kiss revealing Drake's devious smirk. "Does this answer your question?"

Medusa smirked as she slowly cupped one of Drake's ass cheeks with one hand, and snuck her own fingers into the captain's pussy, causing Drake to gasp at her touch. Medusa could only chuckle at the woman's amusement.

"I think we both know the answer now."

(Meanwhile)

As that was happening, the two Masters were walking alongside Ushiwakamaru having a conversation. Since Mashu was whisked away to speak to Medea over something, the two Masters were alone with the black haired Rider to check to see if everything was ready for the voyage. As they spoke, something gnawed at the back of Ritsuka's mind, and it would just not leave. The male Master had to ask, and now was a good time.

"Ushiwakamaru, I have a question, if you don't mind." He said.

"Do not hesitate to ask!" Ushiwakamaru replied. "I'll answer it to the best of my abilities."

"Why are you a Rider?"

Ushiwakamaru tilted her head in confusion. "I'm sorry?"

"I mean why are you in the Rider class?" Ritsuka asked again. "I've never seen you use a mount, and you tend to only use your sword, so you're operating more as a Saber instead of a Rider."

"Oh yeah, you're right!" Tatsuko said. "Speaking of, how come you use a sword? Samurai were mainly mounted archers, and used spears as their go to weapon when combat got up close and personal."

Ushiwakamaru laughed. "You two are pretty observant."

"So….do you have another weapon besides that sword?" Ritsuka asked.

"No, but I'm fast with my sword, so it doesn't really matter." Ushiwakamaru answered.

"I will admit, that's impressive." Tatsuko said.

"And what about your mount?" Ritsuka asked.

"I have a white horse." Ushiwakamaru answered. "Their name is Tayuuguro."

"Oh that's a really good name for a horse." Tatsuko said.

Ushiwakamaru smiled proudly. "I picked the name myself."

"Well you sure have a talent for it." Ritsuka said.

"Thank you, Lord Ritsuka. Now I actually have a question for both you and Lady Tatsuko." Ushiwakamaru said. "What do you two want to do after saving the world?"

Both Masters stopped in their tracks in unison. Ushiwakamaru turned to look at them, only to raise an eyebrow as she saw them in deep thought.

"You know, I don't think either of us ever considered what we'd do afterwards." Tatsuko said. "For me, I'd probably move all my stuff to Chaldea and finish highschool there."

"Are you really okay with leaving your landlady like that?" Ritsuka asked. "You've known her almost all your life, right?"

"She'd understand why, and agree that it's probably for the best." Tatsuko said. "I'd still call her and make sure she's doing okay, though. I owe her for letting me stay for almost free after all."

"Sounds like you really hated living in Tokyo…." Ritsuka muttered.

"Look, can we please just stop talking about that?" Tatsuko asked. "I'd rather we move on."

Ritsuka put up his hands apologetically. "Sorry, I didn't mean to upset you."

Tatsuko stared at the male Master sadly. "I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have snapped like that. But let's just move on to you."

"Me?"

"Yes, Lord Ritsuka, you never said what you would do after saving the world." Ushiwakamaru said.

"I…don't really know." Ritsuka answered. "I never thought I'd be in this position in the first place."

"Well why did you agree to come to Chaldea in the first place?" Tatsuko asked.

Ritsuka rubbed his chin in deep thought. He always kept his reasons for coming to Chaldea in his mind to remind him why he was doing this, so it shouldn't hurt to…tell…them….

Ritsuka's eyes widened in realization. "I think I just figured out what I'd do after saving the world. I'd be doing exactly what I intended to do when I agreed to come to Chaldea!"

"Which is?" Ushiwakamaru asked.

"Money!"

Tatsuko and Ushiwakamaru stared at the male Master in confusion. Tatsuko grinned in amusement though.

"Wow, I never expected such a selfish answer from you." Tatsuko said playfully. "What would Mashu think if she heard this?"

"That isn't what I meant." Ritsuka said.

"Then what did you mean by it?"

"Think about how I lived." Ritsuka said. "I wasn't the only one having a hard time back home. Who else can you think of that fits the bill?"

Tatsuko's eyes widened in realization. "You were planning on sending money to them!"

Ritsuka nodded. "I was going to send the money I'd earn to them so they could leave that district and start over with a clean slate."

Roman appeared on the communicator with a curious gaze. "What's stopping you from asking her to come to us when everything returns to normal?"

"That might not be possible…." Ritsuka muttered.

"Why?"

"Chaldea is under the control of the Clock Tower, and was run by the Animuspheres." Ritsuka said. "She hates both of them with a passion, so trying to convince her would be incredibly difficult, and since we have an El Melloi in the mix, unless I can give her a good reason to come, she'd probably refuse."

"Oh I think she'll come one day." Roman said. "Honestly, I'm hoping we can meet one day."

Ritsuka chuckled. "She'd definitely not like you much."

"Joke all you want, Ritsuka, but I meant what I said." Roman replied. "I still think what you were planning was incredibly sweet. It just shows how much Doctor Williams and the prostitutes meant to you."

"I just want to make their lives much easier." Ritsuka said. "It's not really fair for such wonderful people like them to be treated the way they are."

Ushiwakamaru put a hand to her chin in deep thought. While she agreed with her Master in that sending them money was a wise move, she couldn't help but think there could be more they could do. Chaldea has a lot of resources, so they could probably find a way to get them on their feet and free of their troubles. The Rider's eyebrow furrowed as she stared at the communicator.

"Acting-Director Roman, I have a question." Ushiwakamaru said. "Does Chaldea have any jobs available outside the Antarctic base?"

"We have some places that deal with applicants, some that deal in record keeping, and some that deal with finances." Roman answered. "We even have one that deals with information gathering."

"Are these places willing to hire on the spot?" Ushiwakamaru asked.

Roman smiled at Ushiwakamaru apologetically. "I know what you're trying to do, Ushiwakamaru. But we only have a couple offices stationed in Fuyuki. The other ones they'd have to move to different cities."

"I apologize, Lord Ritsuka, I was hoping that they'd hire the girls at these offices to give them a better life while keeping Mystery a secret…" Ushiwakamaru said.

"I appreciate the gesture." Ritsuka said. "Wait….I might be able to figure something out. Roman, which offices are in Fuyuki?"

"Information gathering and Record keeping." Roman answered.

Ritsuka smiled. "Tomiko would be perfect for gathering information!"

"Who the heck is that?" Tatsuko asked.

"She was kind of the leader of the prostitutes in the area Doc and I lived in." Ritsuka answered. "She looked out for them the best she could, and she was the one Doc and I were the closest with."

"What's her full name?" Roman asked.

"Kimura is her family name, and Tomiko's her given name."

"Kimura Tomiko…. Okay I have her files and criminal records right here!" Davinci said. "Well it only says prostitution for that, but we can overlook it considering the circumstances."

"And with that, consider her hired!" Roman chimed.

"Would you like to take a moment to discuss this in private?" Ushiwakamaru asked.

"I think we can discuss it here, if that's okay with you two." Ritsuka replied.

"Hey, it's all fine with me." Tatsuko said. The male Master nodded, and the three of them resumed their walk around the camp. However they soon stopped when they saw an interesting sight.

A lone tent at the edge of the camp was moving and shaking. The three of them looked at the tent curiously for a moment, before the gears turned in their heads. It all made sense now…..

"Oh my god, Drake and Medusa are at it again." Tatsuko said in amusement.

Ushiwakamaru couldn't help but chuckle. "It's good to see they have energy to spare."

"Let's….just ignore them and give them their alone time." Ritsuka said.

Tatsuko nodded and the three of them proceeded to walk away. They did not turn to look back, for if they did, they would have seen the tent finally cease its shaking…..only for it to resume its erratic movements just seconds later.

(Noon)

"Okay, Improvements and repairs complete!" Drake said. "We fixed the hole in the bilge. No leaks were found, and we also equipped the ram with the leftover scales."

Everyone nodded as they got the last of the supplies onto the Golden Hind. While they all enjoyed their stay on the Shapeless Isles, it was time for them to leave and hunt down Blackbeard. However, Drake and Medusa both coincidentally had a pep in their step, and seemed much more relaxed and calm. What's more was the fact they were positively glowing. Whatever caused this was surely to be a mystery…..or rather it was obvious.

"Soooooo, Ritsuka, Ushiwakamaru and I saw something interesting at the crack of dawn…." Tatsuko said.

"Let me guess, you saw the tent Drake and I were using." Medusa replied playfully.

Tatsuko blushed and nodded. The Rider saw this and grinned. "So, what did you do after everyone saw Drake and I kiss and leave for some….privacy?"

"Are you sure this is an appropriate subject to talk about with Drake present?" Tatsuko asked.

"I can hear you two you know!" Drake said. "Don't worry, I don't really mind, but if Tatsuko wants to talk about this somewhere more quietly, then do so."

"That actually sounds like a plan!" Tatsuko said. Drake nodded and turned to her crew and the Chaldeans as they waited for her instructions.

"Weigh anchor!" Drake shouted. The crew nodded and cheered before immediately getting to work raising the anchor and unfurling the sails. Drake walked up the stairs as the sails were finally unfurled, and took the helm. The moment the ship was in motion, Medusa and Tatsuko went below deck, no doubt to resume their discussion in privacy. As that was happening, Ushiwakamaru decided to check up on the others in Medusa's stead, and see how they were handling being out at sea once more. It was here that she saw the most interesting sight. Medea was speaking to Perseus, Orion and Artemis. The black haired Rider had a feeling like something would happen, so in order to make sure Medea was being pleasant, she had to step in.

"Do you mind if I join you for a while?" She asked.

"You're more than welcome to join." Medea said.

"We were just discussing the most powerful creatures we ever fought." Orion said.

"And what were they?" Ushiwakamaru asked.

"The scorpion that killed me." Orion said. "I managed to kill it, but it took everything I had to do so."

"And what about you, Lady Artemis?" Ushiwakamaru asked.

"I actually don't have one." Artemis answered. "I am a huntress afterall."

"And I'm pretty sure what Perseus's answer will be." Orion said.

"I know who you're thinking of, but it's actually not Medusa." Perseus said. "She's a close second, however."

Everyone stared at him in shock. Medusa was one of the most terrifying figures back in Ancient Greece. For Perseus to consider her his second most powerful opponent was hard to fathom.

"Who is it then?" Medea asked.

"Cetus." Perseus answered.

Artemis gasped. "Oh that actually makes sense now!"

"How is that more powerful than Medusa?" Medea asked.

"We'll have to explain that one together." Artemis said as she pointed at Perseus. "You see, it was much larger than Medusa by a good margin. It was also incredibly durable, and it proved that when it took a dozen blows from Harpe."

"I thought Harpe could damage it." Medea said.

"It did." Perseus said. "However its hide was thick enough that most of my cuts were little more than bug bites. There were some areas that I could cleave and cut, but most areas on that creature were much harder to get through."

"Anything else to share before you tell us about its skills?" Ushiwakamaru asked.

"It was difficult for me to even try and land a blow." Perseus said. "Its reach and strength almost made me fall off Pegasus a couple of times. And if that happened…..Cetus would have won."

"Wow, it sure sounds like a terrifying creature." Ushiwakamaru said.

Perseus shivered. "I hope to never see that…..thing again."

"Maybe we should have someone else go next." Orion said. "So Ushiwakamaru, what was the most powerful creature you fought?"

"A bear." Ushiwakamaru answered.

"Okay considering you came from a time where mystical creatures were rare, that makes sense." Perseus said.

"I actually knew some myself." Ushiwakamaru answered. "In fact I met some tengu before I joined my brothers in war."

"Their name was Kiichi Hougen, right?" Medea asked.

Ushiwakamaru nodded and smiled. "They taught me a lot of things regarding the art of war, and I still remember the first thing she told me to do to become her disciple."

"What was it?" Artemis asked.

"To play, of course!"

Medea flinched and winced. "I'm not sure that was meant to be a lesson….."

Ushiwakamaru cocked her head to the side in confusion. "What do you mean?"

"Nothing. Just thinking aloud."

"You know, you still haven't told us the most powerful creature you faced, Medea." Orion said. "What was it?"

"Some sea monster I encountered during my time on the Argo." Medea answered. "I don't know the particular name or species, but it was an aggressive and persistent one."

"What happened to it?" Perseus asked.

"We didn't have Heracles, Caenis, Atalante, or Theseus with us at the time." Medea answered. "We had to run away until we could get to land."

"That sounds similar to the Ravenous Dreadlord we saw." Ushiwakamaru said.

"You actually managed to escape from a Ravenous Dreadlord?" Artemis asked.

"Only barely." Medea replied.

"That's actually pretty damn impressive." Orion said. "Not a lot of people can say they've been able to do that."

"We were just lucky." Medea countered.

"Luck or no, you should all count yourselves blessed." Artemis said.

Medea smiled. "I remember Atalante would always tell me the same thing whenever we did an adventure."

Artemis smiled back. "I was always fond of her, you know."

"You know, I've always wondered about something." Medea said. "You punished Atalante when she broke her oath by turning her and her husband into lions. Why did you do that despite the fact people thought lions couldn't breed with each other?"

"That's because people were stupid enough to believe it." Artemis answered. "I always knew lions would reproduce with each other."

"Then why is that a punishment?" Perseus asked.

"It actually wasn't." Artemis answered. "You see, Atalante was in a precarious situation. If she consummated her marriage, then she'd break her oath to me. If she didn't consummate her marriage, then she'd be breaking her oath to her husband. So I gave them a way out. So I turned them into lions, and I led them to a place where they would not be recognized, and turned them back into humans."

Medea smiled brightly. "I'm glad you didn't punish her too harshly. She deserved better than to be transformed into a lioness for the rest of her life."

Artemis grinned. "I didn't completely change her back to normal. Atalante wanted to keep the ears and the tail, and I decided to oblige to her request."

Medea raised an eyebrow. "I am scared to ask, but why did she want to keep those?"

"Because we thought they looked cute on her."

Medea stared at the goddess blankly. "I…wasn't expecting that answer…"

"I wonder how she'd be able to put on clothes." Ushiwakamaru said.

"Hey Perseus, can I get your help with something?" Ritsuka asked on the other side of the ship.

Perseus looked at the others with a smile. "I'll talk to you guys later. I need to see how I can help."

Not a second later, Perseus walked towards Ritsuka to see how he could help, leaving the four others by the stern.

"I have to get going as well." Ushiwakamaru said. "I promised to speak to Okita about something, and I don't want to keep her waiting."

"Have fun!" Medea said. Ushiwakamaru proceeded to take a small bow, and walked away, leaving Medea with Artemis and Orion.

"So, Medea, is there anything you'd like to talk to us about?" Artemis asked.

Medea shrugged. "I guess there are a few things I'd like to discuss."

Artemis grinned. "Well we do have all day, so let's discuss away."

The two women smiled as they decided on their topic. That of their favorite green haired huntress.

(Night)

Silence filled the night sky save for the two people on deck. Their playfulness and mirth as they talked proved just how close they have become in such a short time. Their constant competitions only improved their opinions of each other, and their rivalry. It was then that Alexander's face lowered into a frown, and turned to Ushiwakamaru with a serious expression.

"Ushiwakamaru, I have a request regarding our next fight with Blackbeard and his goons." Alexander said.

"What is it?" Ushiwakamaru asked.

"Those two female pirates, Anne Bonny and Mary Read. I want to face them alone."

The black haired Rider raised an eyebrow. "Why?"

"I have this Charm Skill, and I want to try and use it on them to see if we can bring them over to our side."

"Are you sure that's going to work?" Ushiwakamaru asked.

"I don't know." Alexander said.

"That doesn't really inspire confidence, Alexander."

"Please, reconsider." Alexander begged.

"If I did agree to this, what would happen to them when this Charm Skill activates?" Ushiwakamaru asked.

Alexander blushed. "I-it would be kind of akin to….seducing….them…."

"That IS intriguing." Ushiwakamaru said. "Wait, why are you blushing over this?"

"W-well, it's just because since you're the Vice-Captain of the Servants here, that makes you my boss." Alexander said. "I just thought you'd think it would be unprofessional…"

Ushiwakamaru smiled reassuringly. "I understand your concerns. My only problem with this was if it could work or not."

"Thanks."

The two Riders fell into a comfortable silence as they stared at the moon. As they did so, Ushiwakamaru thought about their conversation, and turned to look at Alexander with a curious glint in her eyes.

"Have you ever used your Charm Skill on me?"

Alexander chuckled in amusement. "No. If I did, it would take the fun out of our competitions."

"I'm glad to hear that you'd rather be on top of me fair and square." Ushiwakamaru said.

Alexander grinned and raised an eyebrow in amusement. "Do you even know what you just said?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about." Ushiwakamaru said playfully. The two of them laughed at where the conversation was going. The moment they managed to catch their breath, they stared at each other, but unlike before, they could not pull their eyes away. It was as if something compelled both of them to look into each other's eyes.

"You know, I heard about that conversation you had with our Master's earlier this morning." Alexander said.

"Which part?" Ushiwakamaru asked.

"About suggesting giving those prostitutes Ritsuka knew growing up jobs in Chaldea's other offices." Alexander answered. "You really made his day with that one."

"I just think it's only right for those girls to be able to escape from that life, and start over." Ushiwakamaru said. "So, have you heard anything from Lord Ritsuka about Doctor Williams? Has he reached a decision?"

"I have no clue what you're saying." Alexander said.

"Nevermind, it's not important." Ushiwakamaru replied.

"Speaking of Chaldea, what do you think of it so far?" Alexander asked.

"I love it there, but there are some Servants that don't work well with others." Ushiwakamaru answered.

Alexander shrugged. "Well you can't expect everyone to get along."

"You may be right." Ushiwakamaru replied. "But I think these individuals just need some time and let their hair down."

"I'm not exactly sure that's possible." Alexander said. "Some either have bad blood between them, or are under the effects of Madness Enhancement. One wrong move, and things could go south."

"Perhaps. But we should wait and see for sure." Ushiwakamaru countered. "So how have you been liking Chaldea?"

"It's been great." Alexander said. "But I can't help but feel like something is….off."

"I think I know what you're feeling." Ushiwakamaru said. "I felt the same way when I was first summoned. You've been with us almost a month now, so it'll probably go away."

"You're probably right."

Ushiwakamaru smiled. "I really like your attitude. You seem to always know how to lighten the mood."

Alexander smiled back. "And I like how dedicated you are to our friends here. And your beautiful smile."

Ushiwakamaru's smile turned into a grin. "I like your cute smile too."

Alexander raised an eyebrow. "Oh? What else do you like?"

"Your personality." Ushiwakamaru said.

Alexander blushed at the comment. Not a moment later, Ushiwakamaru blushed alongside him. Both of them were now questioning why they said those things, and because of this, their hearts were racing.

"W-we should probably stop talking for a few minutes." Alexander said.

"Y-yeah….g-good idea…." Ushiwakamaru muttered. The two Riders reluctantly looked away, and decided to stare at the moon in awkward silence.

Unbeknownst to them, two people were listening in. Drake and Medusa looked on in shock and disbelief. They had no idea how to process this.

"Did….did that just happen?" Drake asked.

"I….have no clue what we're seeing." Medusa whispered.

"I….I think they were flirting with each other." Drake whispered back.

Medusa's eyes widened in realization. Drake was right, it did sound like they were flirting. "I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting this kind of development."

Drake snickered. "I wonder how long it'll take for them to figure it out."

"I think they should probably take their time." Medusa replied. "People their age shouldn't just rush into this sort of thing."

"I can definitely see them happening in at least a few months." Drake said.

"That's possible." Medusa whispered. "Let's just leave so they don't realize we're here."

"Yeah, that sounds like a plan." Drake whispered back. "I'll see you in the morning."

And with that, the two women snuck away quietly, with Drake silently entering her cabin, and Medusa going below deck. They closed the doors, trying to not make a sound. Thankfully, both Alexander and Ushiwakamaru were too dazed to have even noticed a thing.

OC: Well…that was…..honestly this was an interesting turn of events, if I do say so myself.

CV: It is, but to be fair, fate and the future are a fickle thing, and it can change on a whim without notice.

OC: True, but that's what makes this story fun and worthwhile. You know what else is fun?

CV: Oh, should I do the honors?

OC: Of course! Go right ahead buddy!

CV: Very well then. Ahem, we're both pleased to announce that Chaldean Chronicles has officially surpassed the 50K mark!

(Confetti pops!)

OC: That's right folks, we're now passed 50K views! Honestly I was shocked at how quick we managed to get here in the last few weeks.

CV: Looks like quite a lot of people enjoyed reading about the antics of the trio.

OC: Definitely. Now I know we occasionally have guest appearances for such things, but unfortunately everyone is booked this week, so we won't be getting the star of this chapter to come say hi. Sorry folks.

CV: Everyone was busy doing their own little things, but it's fine. After all there's a lot to talk about besides us hitting a new milestone..

OC: That is true on all accounts. And we shall be doing our regular scheduled programming of discussing parts of each scene. And starting with scene one we had a…..interesting beginning. A naked pirate and snek. Yeah we had Drake and Medusa sleep together after getting drunk at a party. Does this mean that they're going to be a ship and a couple? No. They just needed to blow off some steam…..and also because we thought it would be funny to have two of Fate's hottest girls fuck offscreen. And the fact they went back for more even at the end of the scene was also hilarious.

CV: Besides, let's be real here everyone, who wouldn't get in bed with Drake and Medusa given the opportunity?

OC: I sure would take that opportunity. And since they both liked it enough to keep going, you KNOW they had a great time.

CV: No doubt about that one.

OC: And for the rest of scene one we decided to switch focus to the star of this chapter, and the two Masters. That's right, while Ushiwakamaru seemed to be sharing the spotlight with everyone else, this chapter was mainly about her as the main focus. And boy she probably proved why she's Medusa's second in command of the Servants, and fourth in command overall of the Chaldean team.

CV: Ushiwaka is, in my humble opinion, one of the best Servants that Chaldea currently has access too, and her having the spotlight helps show that.

OC: Exactly. I mean take what she just did in scene one for example. The moment she heard Ritsuka's original intent on joining Chaldea, she immediately came up with a plan to try and hire the prostitutes that befriended him and Hannah, and with Davinci's and Roman's help, managed to make sure Chaldea will hire them in some of their offices in Japan. And in Scene two she saw Medea talking to a Goddess, and a famous hero, knew how she feels about such things, and tried to make sure everything was civil. And in scene three, Alexander asked her for her permission to use a skill to make the fight against Blackbeard easier. Medusa might be the captain, but Ushiwakamaru has proven herself to be a very capable commander here.

CV: A capable commander and strong warrior, two things that everyone wants in an army.

OC: That is pretty accurate. But back to scene one. We got some interesting development for the two Masters, and what they want to do after this is all over, but we also learn why Ritsuka signed on in the first place. He just wanted to get a high paying job and make money so he could send all of it to Hannah and the prostitutes back home. I find that incredibly sweet, and shows that he always keeps them in his mind.

CV: Our boy is pretty selfless over all, caring more about the wellbeing of others. I wonder if that will bite him in the ass someday…

OC: This is Fate. Trying to do good by anyone bites you in the ass because apparently SOMEONE thinks that all humans are bastards. And this line of thought will be coming back later in this discussion. Just wait and see everyone ;)

CV: Humanity is peak actually.

OC: Well in any event, it was still nice for him to try and send money so they can all have a fresh start. But now onto scene two. We decided to have the main topic be about the most powerful creatures they ever fought because we have two hunters, a famous hero, and a witch who's been on a voyage such as this before. You know you're in for a good time with those guys.

CV: And they had quite the stories to tell about their biggest exploits.

OC: And Perseus had the biggest bombshell in that he only considers Medusa his second most powerful opponent. To him, Cetus was even more terrifying, and more ferocious. The reason we did that was because having it be Medusa would be too obvious, and, while it might sound respectful of her abilities, it would have been pretty mean of Perseus there because it would be like he's gloating about overcoming her, when the reality is he only killed her because he had to. So we decided Cetus was the next best thing.

CV: Exactly, gloating about killing someone who's sitting 3 feet away from you is not exactly the best way to make friends.

OC: That and it would just be even worse since he'd be in front of some of her friends. They'd really be pissed at that.

CV: A problem all around. However things turned out fine in the end, and thank god for that.

OC: And now onto scene three, and wow, I wasn't really expecting that conversation to go into that direction.

CV: Truth be told, we didn't plan for that to happen at all, but since it did, and we both liked the result, we decided to keep it.

OC: Yeah for some reason it just happened, and it just felt….natural, I believe that's the word? But the fact that those two were getting that….flirty with each other was definitely fun to do. We wanted to make them friendly rivals because both of them seemed to be the type to love competitions, and now we're seeing them compete in another area.

CV: It's a bit of a slow start but I think it's better that way.

OC: Well we're just going to have to see where this goes. But the best part was Drake's and Medusa's reactions to this happening. Want to know why? Because that's basically our reactions to the entire thing lol.

CV: We basically spoke through them on that situation lol.

OC: That we did. Well, that's it for discussing the chapter, but we're actually not done yet folks. Vlad and I talked about this a few weeks ago, and I'm pretty sure he's forgotten, so I'll be the one to inform everyone. A few weeks ago, I suggested to him that when we hit 50k views, we should discuss some things we love about the Nasuverse, but also some criticisms. We wanted to give you all a bit of a treat so you can get to know us a little better, and to show how much we love Fate in general.

CV: Right, right, sorry about that buddy.

OC: Eh, I forget things all the time, so it's not like I have a right to complain. However, since you were the one to announce the milestone, I think it's only right that you go first.

CV: Alright, so a criticism… I think it would be how complicated some of the stuff is in-universe, like the separation between the different Ages or the reasons as to why magic isn't known to most of the world, which I do find kinda dumb and thus chose to ignore it on a lot of the stuff I write.

OC: Huh, I wasn't really expecting that. So what is there that you love about the Nasuverse and Fate?

CV: If I had to say, it would be the underdog factor in the Nasuverse. 90% of the time the protagonist is weaker by a lot compared to their enemies, but they still come out on top. FGO is a good example, especially with the Lostbelts and how the threats there are beaten.

OC: Interesting pick. For me I have a LOT of both ends, so I'm only going to share a couple. Which one would you like for me to share first, Vlad?

CV: Hm, I went for the dislike first, so I think it's fitting you go for it too.

OC: Okay then. So I'm going to share one criticism, then one like, then one criticism etc. So for my first criticism, it's…..well, okay lots of people are gonna blast me for this one….It's how Chaldea has been handled after the Indian Lostbelt. What I mean by this is that their decision making, and their competency took a serious dive. They essentially lost quite a few IQ points. Here's what I mean. In the first and Second Lostbelts, they struggled and barely won because of lack of resources and manpower. That's okay, because we made solid decisions, and were able to adapt with what we were given almost immediately. In China, they were able to go back to their EOR versions and showed how strong they really should be. They took losses, but that was due to the Lostbelt King being clever and having back up plans that no one could have foreseen. In India, they had heavy hitters throughout the story, and while they suffered loss, it was due to the King being OP as hell. They also showed how smart they were by noticing some flaws in the King's powers, and exploiting that. However, in Atlantis and onward, that all went out the window. They decided to not use the briefcase to summon anyone ahead of time, but while they had a decent reason, they should have probably suspected, nay, they should have KNOWN Wodime would be expecting them, and would have planned ahead. They should have known this, and decided to throw caution to the wind, and have Servants summoned BEFORE going in just to make sure. The result of not doing that? They basically get humiliated. Sure I loved how strong Wodime and the enemies were, but Chaldea's decision making really took a dive there. And after that, they never learned their lesson regarding this until Lostbelt 7, where they realized "Hmmmm, maybe we SHOULD summon Servants before entering again. That actually was incredibly smart of us before."

Yeah, you can see why I say they took a level in dumbass. And the fact that the writers try to make excuses for it in the game is even worse. I know there are supposed to be reasons for this, but it got old really fast, and it also felt like they weren't cautious enough.

CV: Wow, I was not expecting for you to go for that long. Let's change the subject now, what do you like about the Nasuverse/Fate?

OC: I'd say the music. Almost every one of their pieces is top notch.

CV: Good pick, the music of the Nasuverse is godlike.

OC: Another thing I like about the Nasuverse is the lore. The amount of time it took to make the world this rich is astounding, and it has really influenced how I write. However, this is also one of my biggest criticisms, because I think they don't go into detail enough lol. I'd actually like to know even more about the world, not just what they've given us so far, and it's a shame they don't because I think they could do so much! I mean Lostbelt 6 had a rich lore and history, and I loved learning about it. And that's one of the good things about Lostbelt 6 that I absolutely loved. Everything else? Yeah…..I still need to actually play it myself.

CV: It did, Nasu really went above and beyond for that one..

OC: And with that, we are out of time. Thank you for 50K views everyone, you have no idea how much this means to us! Please stay tuned next week for the next chapter of Chaldean Chronicles! Owen Chaser and Cosmic Vlad, signing off.
