This story is a version of Legends of Tomorrow, which includes: Lisa Snart. In cannon Lisa had left The Flash in season 2, but in this we will see what happens when she sticks with her brother and partner, and later joins the Legends. If you read this the first time then you would know that I had made this chapter originally in two parts. Lazy, I know, but I'm fixing it now by replacing the chapters. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it just as much if not more than last time.
Central City 2016
In Central City Bullion Exchange, there was a robbery being done by Leonard Snart, Mick Rory, and of course Lisa Snart.
As they left the building they saw three cops pull their guns out.
"Drop your weapons." A police officer says
"Ah, fry you little piggies! Mick says as all three of them fire at the cops and knock them out.
"A minivan? Really Snart?" Mick complains about their getaway vehicle.
"Yeah Lenny, this doesn't seem fun." Lisa says
"Cops'll never hassle a dad buying diapers in the middle of the night sis." Lenny says
"Maybe, maybe not."
As they drive away a police car is already on their trail.
"Well, I guess you were wrong." Lisa says with a smirk
While driving away they notice a white man in a trench coat standing in the road.
"What the..." Mick says.
"Watch it!" Both Lisa and Lenny tell him as he hits the brakes just before they saw a flash and were knocked unconscious.
When they wake up they are on a roof with 6 people including professor Martin Stein, who was a former member of Team Flash.
"Aah. What a headache!" Mick says as he sits up.
"Stein? What the hell are you doing here?" Lenny says when he sits up.
"I'm as ignorant as you, for once." Stein scoffs.
"Where are we?" Some blonde in a coat asks.
"That's what I would like to know, along with who you all are." Lisa says confused about why they were all here if they didn't all know each other
"Ah. Why don't you ask the dude who knocked us out and kidnapped us? British dude with a flashy thing? Ring any bells?" A young man asks
"The name's Rip Hunter. I'm from East London. Oh, and the future." The man who kidnapped them all says as he stands before them all
"Nice to meet you, Rip. Now tell me what's going on unless you want to turn into gold." Lisa threatened
"Or burn." Mick says as he reaches for his gun
"Uh, while you were incapacitated, I may have tampered with your weapons." Rip lets them know. "I've assembled you all because I need your help. The future of the world is in peril because of a man by the name of Vandal Savage."
Two men and women with brown suits that are carrying hawk helmets stand there shocked when they hear that name. "That can't be. We destroyed him." The man says.
"Yeah, the Green Arrow and Flash helped us do it." The woman says.
"And therein lay the problem. Unless you or Mr. Hall deliver the death blow, Savage can be restored from but a single cell." Rip informs them.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Mick says confused.
"Vandal is immortal. Kendra and I reincarnate." The man apparently known as Mr. Hall explains to him
"Yeah, I've done that." The blonde says
"Wait, what? You've died before?" Lisa asks, confused on how someone could come back to life
"Last year, the names Sara." The blonde introduces herself
"Lisa, a pleasure to meet you."
"And what the hell does this Randall guy got to do with us?" Mick interrupts their conversation to get back to the matter at hand.
"Vandal." Rip corrects. "In the future, he will employ the evil he's perfected over his long life, and the power he has amassed throughout history, to finally conquer the world. I've been tasked with assembling an elite team to stop him."
"How?" Sara asks.
"To travel through time. To capture Savage before he grows into the monster he becomes."
"You got the wrong guy. "Hero" ain't on my resume." Lenny says as he walks away while Lisa and Mick follow.
"Or mine." Mick agrees.
"I know it's difficult for you to fathom, but where... when I'm from, the year 2166, you and everyone on this roof aren't just considered heroes... You're legends."
They all paused in amazement. Lisa felt like there was something off about what he was saying, but even she was fazed by the idea of being a hero.
"Legends?" a man in a metal suit asks.
"I, um, I hate to nitpick, but doesn't a legend have to be dead?" Stein asks.
"Yeah, see, uh, that's a deal breaker for me, so I'm gonna pass." The teenager says not wanting to die.
"Yeah I think I'm going to pass on that too. Not in the mood to die just yet." Lisa says.
"It's dangerous for any of you to know too much about your own futures, but I am here because each of you, as individuals, is destined for greatness." Rip says.
"I could get behind that." The man in the metal suit says
Rip turns from him and takes a few steps away and pulls out a device.
"And, because if you don't follow me, this is what is in store for your world 150 years from now."
He projects a future where the city is on fire and there is chaos everywhere. Ships are flying around the city, firing at buildings. It is absolutely horrifying.
I could have chosen any time and any place. Of all the people who ever lived, I chose you nine. I certainly hope that you won't let me, and the world, down."
These words makes Lisa think about what to do. If they fail they could die, but if they succeed they would save the world. What should she do?
Rip walks up to Stein with a card in hand. "If your answer is yes, meet me at this address in 36 hours." He gives Stein the card and walks away, leaving them all to think about this invitation.
While Mick and Lisa were objecting going with Rip, Lenny was actually thinking of going.
"I can't believe you're thinking of hooking up with the Englishman." Mick says while he is grinding something. "We're thieves. Crooks. Criminals. I have no desire to save the world. Especially 100 years after I'm dead."
"I'll have to agree with Mick here Lenny. Time travel is great and all, but going up against this Savage guy could get all three of us killed. Besides Rip is definitely hiding something." Lisa says
"What makes you say that?"
"Takes one to know one, and I have lied to a lot of people. How do you think I met Cisco?"
"He said across time, sis. What about the years before? Before fingerprints and surveillance cameras and DNA analysis. Why did we become criminals?" Lenny says, all while reading a magazine. "Because we hate working and we love money." Mick says while drinking a bottle of beer.
Lenny walks to them and says "We could steal the Mona Lisa straight off Da Vinci's easel, snatch the Hope Diamond before it was discovered. This is everything we got into thieving for in the first place. More than everything." Lenny walks away.
Lisa smirks. "I actually kind of like the sound of that. What do you say Mick. Up for a little thieving adventure."
Mick looks at them and says "You two want me in, I'm in. But I'm not gonna be anyone's hero."
This causes Lenny and Lisa to smirk.
When the Rogues go to the address Rip gave them, they meet up with Sara, Kendra, Carter Hall, and Ray Palmer. They then see Stein parking in with an unconscious Jefferson Jackson also known as Jax.
Lenny decides to speak first and say "Professor! This is the place." while they were all walking towards Stein and Jax.
"I think we're being punked. Do people still say "punked"?" Ray asks.
"No." Sara says.
"Nobody ever did." Lisa agrees.
"I see your buddy through himself a going-away party." Mick says.
"Yes, I believe he drank something that didn't quite agree with him." Stein says, but Lisa's skeptical.
"You don't look too happy to be here." Lenny says
"Perceptive." Kendra says
"Well, I see you've all decided to come." Rip says while Lisa tries to find out where he came from. "Well then, we can be on our way."
"I ain't footing it anywhere." Lenny says
"A Time Master's sacred charge is to do no harm to the timeline." Rip explains. "Can you imagine what a timeship would look like in, say, Victorian England?"
Stein looks impressed before he says "Holographic indigenous camouflage projection."
"You know you could have just said camouflage, right?" Lisa asks, not seeing a reason to have all of that in there.
"Indeed." Rip says as he presses a button and suddenly a gigantic grey ship with orange thrusters appears.
"It's called the Waverider. It's been my ship for over a decade." He turns to them. "Shall we."
They all walk to the ship, except Mick, who went to help Stein carry Jax inside.
As everyone entered Lisa was absolutely amazed by what she was seeing. She was in an actual time ship. Cisco would get a kick out of this. She sees Rip go ahead while Palmer, and Stein follow and have a nerdy conversation. Lisa chooses to ignore that and sees Lenny and Sara having a conversation of their own.
"Hey, I'm just trying to make conversation." Lenny said
"Yeah. I can tell by the way that your staring at my ass." Sara said before walking away and leaving Lenny with a smirk.
"Flirting with an assassin Lenny? I didn't think that she was your type." Lisa teases
"Well, you would know with that little Cisco of yours." Lenny retorts and Lisa pouts.
"That's not really fair."
Before Lenny could respond. Mick showed up along with an unconscious Jax saying "Are we moving or what?"
"Sorry Mick got side-tracked." Lenny said as the Snart siblings followed Mick to the bridge.
After Mick had put Jax on a seat in the middle of the bridge he decided to have a chat with Stein.
"Whatever you roofied him with, I'd like some." Mick says
"I did not roofie him." Stein defends, though it was weak.
"Oh, I ain't judging." Just as he said that the Hawk people decided to step in.
"I have never seen anything like this before." Kendra says since she is just as amazed as Lisa was of this ship.
"Neither have I, and considering I have 4,000 years worth of memories, that's saying something." Carter says as he looks around.
"How does a vessel of this size function without a crew?" Stein asks Rip.
"I don't need one. I have Gideon." He says as a holographic head shows up in the middle of the room, which startles Lisa.
"Welcome aboard. I am Gideon, an interactive artificial consciousness programmed to operate this vessel's critical systems and aid Captain Hunter in his mission."
"Captain?" Lenny asks.
"Yeah, your not the only one Lenny." Lisa teases
"Gideon's been working on helping me locate Vandal Savage." Rip says.
"I thought you said he's pretty active in the 22nd century." Palmer asks, which makes Lisa wonder if he is really a scientist.
"Isn't it obvious? If we attacked while he's at the height of his powers he would be heavily guarded and harder to fight." Lisa says embarrassing Palmer, though he agrees.
"Indeed. Unfortunately, Savage has kept his movements hidden throughout history. Not even Gideon can determine where or when we can find him. But I have the next best thing: the man who can. Professor Aldus Boardman." Rip says as he shows the team a photo of Professor Boardman. He's a tall old man with a brown suit black skin, grey hair, a beard, and glasses. He doesn't seem like much.
"Professor Boardman is the world's leading... well, only... expert on Vandal Savage. We're gonna pay him a little visit."
"Course plotted for St. Roch, New Orleans." Gideon says
"St. Roch?" Carter says, confused.
"What about St. Roch?" Lisa asks.
"That's where Kendra and I live." Strange. Maybe they have some sort of connection to the place in their past lives.
"October 17, 1975." Gideon plots the course.
"I suggest you all strap yourselves in. Temporal navigation isn't something one wants to be standing up for." Rip says as he sits down and straps himself in.
Everyone decides for their own safety that they should follow suit. Lisa sits in the empty seat next to Mick, and next to another empty seat that no one takes.
"Time travel. Cool." Mick says as he straps himself in along with Lenny and the others.
"Some of you may experience some slight discomfort. In very rare instances, there will be some, uh, bleeding from the eyeballs." Wait what? Is he serious or is he joking?
"I'm sorry, what?" Kendra voices her concerns just as the Waverider starts it's engines.
The human body is used to time unfolding linearly."
As the ships begins to take off, the Young Jax finally wakes up next to Stein.
"Oh. Jackson, I'm so glad you're awake. I didn't want you to miss this." Stein says in an excited tone.
"Miss what?" Jax asks with tired eyes and confusion, before he realizes that he's in a ship with everyone. "What the..." He tries to unstrap himself from his seat.
"Oh, no, I wouldn't unfasten those if I were you." Rip warns the kid."
"Get me off this... whatever this thing is!"
"Good luck explaining this." Sara says while smirking.
"I did him a favor." Stein says frustrated.
"He doesn't look very grateful." Lisa says before Lenny could.
"Just hang on and remain calm." Rip says as he turns his seat and seemingly prepares to make the jump. "All your worlds are about to change."
St. Roch 1975
They had arrived in 1975. Lisa had just time traveled for the first time. Just as the Waverider landed Mick had just vomited right next to her.
"Ew Mick. I didn't know you had motion sickness." Lisa says disgusted
"I don't!" Mick says
"Oh, I should have mentioned it before. Nausea is one of the side effects of time travel, along with..."
"Aah!" Palmer screams as he falls down. He's probably experiencing side effects too.
"Vertigo." He finishes.
"I can't see." Stein says as he takes off his glasses.
"And temporary blindness." Rip walks towards Stein to help out. "Oh, it should only last a minute. After all, that was a mere jaunt. The further back in time you go, the worse the side effects. Better?"
"It's all relative."
"Good."
Just as about everyone gets up Jax seems disappointed in Stein. "I can't believe you kidnapped me." He said just before getting up. "Hey, I want to go home."
"Good news, then. 2016 will be around in, uh, 41 years." Rip says sarcastically. "Now, you four, feel free to make yourselves comfortable back here on the ship, while the rest of you are coming with me to find Professor Boardman."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa." Mick stops Rip right there. "You're benching us?"
"I thought we were a team." Sara says in an annoyed tone.
"This mission doesn't require your particular skill set." Rip says "Yet."
"Meaning you don't need anyone killed, maimed, or robbed." Lenny defines.
"Precisely."
"Sure it's a good idea to leave these three unsupervised on a time machine?" Palmer asks, a little worried
"Hey, haircut! Deafness wasn't one of the side effects." Mick says annoyed
"Don't worry Ray, we will be sure not to cause any trouble unless we have to." Lisa says. However that doesn't make Palmer feel any better
"We better hurry up. Professor Boardman will die in less than 24 hours." Rip says
"What's the point in cutting it so close?" Ray asks
"Because if he's destined to die, then he doesn't have a timeline for us to disrupt, and his impact on the future will be minimal. How brilliant." Stein says
"And depressing." Kendra says with a smile. "How does he die?"
"Uh, he's found dead in his university from unknown causes. Come on." Rip says
As half the team prepares to leave Lisa notices Jax isn't moving.
"Are you coming?" Stein asks Jax
I'll stay put." He says
"You'd rather stay with them?"
"They didn't drug me." He says angrely
"Point taken." Stein says before they leave.
"So Gideon, do you have anything we can watch." Mick asks
"Indeed Mr. Rory."
This is gonna be fun.
It was not fun. The only things they could watch was stuff from 1975 and they had nothing to talk about. They hardly knew each other except for the Rogues.
"Why does this stupid station play nothing but reruns?" Mick asks confused
Sara was about to say something but Jax said "Don't even bother trying to explain."
"Am I the only one on this ship who could really use a drink?" Sara says bored.
"Maybe you're right Sara. I could use some time off the ship anyway."
"I say we go get weird in the '70s."
"Excellent idea." Lenny turns around to face her.
"I got the perfect outfit." She says as they all walk away to find a bar
"Perhaps Captain Hunter was unclear with his instructions to remain onboard." Gideon interrupts
"Shut it, metal mouth." Mick threatens.
"And if you try to stop us, we could just hack into you and break out, so you might as well just let us go." Lisa tells Gideon.
"Very well." Gideon surrenders
Lenny realizes Jax's age and turns to him. "Oh, you're not quite ready to run with this crew. Sorry, kid."
"Wait, you're just gonna leave me here?" Jax complains.
"I said I'd take care of you." He says before they all leave him.
After leaving they managed to find themselves a bar. Sara had changed into an all white sleeveless outfit with batons hidden inside. Mick had gone to order beers a few minutes ago and came back with four bottles.
"Ah. Dollar beers. You got to love the '70s." He says as he passes them the beers. "Who wants to listen to some Captain and Tennille? My mother played it. A lot." He goes to a jukebox and plays the song "Love Will Keep Us Together" by Captain and Tennille.
Some hippie lady shows up, looks at them and says "Wow, you guys are really far out." Then she leaves.
Sara smirks and says "You want to dance, Leonard?"
"You go right ahead. I'll watch." He says as he takes her bottle
"Suit yourself. How about you Lisa."
"Why not." Lisa says as she gives her bottle to Mick and goes to dance.
They soon draw attention to some big Biker looking man. He goes to them to talk.
"Can we help you?"
"Mm. How about you two join me in the parking lot?"
"Hmm, tempting, but you're not my type. But your lady, on the other hand, well, she looks just my speed."
"I'm gonna have to pass too. I'm more into brains than brawn."
"Maybe you didn't understand my request, b*tch." He grabs Sara's wrist just before she twists his easily.
"Aah! Son of a..." He walks away to grab a bottle of beer to attack
"We got this." Sara says to the boys as she and Lisa face big guy and his thugs with music in the background. He breaks his bottle and approaches them, but Sara deflects his arm and punches his face and kicks a thug while Lisa sucker punches another thug and punches another in the face knocking him out just before finishing the other guy off with an elbow to the face. They easily beat those thugs one by one but they got up pretty soon. It seems they're more durable then they thought.
"Now I could stand for a little help." She says and Lenny and Mick decide to join in. They drop their bottles, shattering them and Mick picks up a stool and slams it at someone and joins in. It's a full on bar fight. Things were just starting to get interesting. Lisa could hear Mick yelling I love the '70s, before she starting refocusing on the fight. She then hears sirens and tells the team they need to bail. They get out at the backdoor and they manage to escape in a stolen truck.
"Well, that was fun." Lisa says with a smirk. "To bad I couldn't get any money out of it."
"Who said we didn't." Lenny says as he pulls out a wallet thats not his and smirks.
"Seriously?" Sara says
"Just multi-tasking. Mick drive us back."
After a short drive they start to hear blasts and proceeded with caution. Once they got there they saw some guy in a metal suit trying to kill the team. Stein and Palmer were running to the ship while the Hawks were fighting off the stormtrooper reject. He then grabs a grenade and throws it at Rip and for some reason Professor Boardman.
"Get down!" Rip says as the avoid an explosion.
Just as the enemy prepares another grenade to attack, Mick slams the truck at him just before they all step outside.
"We go out for one lousy drink, and you guys somehow manage to pick a fight with Boba Fett." Lenny quips as he pulls out his Cold gun while Mick and Lisa pull out their Heat and Gold guns
Suddenly Palmer and Firestorm came to lend some assistance with their suit and powers. which bought time for the team to escape. Unfortunately "Boba Fett" ended up blasting near Boardman and injurying him. Both of the hawks came to help him and brought him back to the ship while the rogues and Rip blasted the enemy with their weapons.
"Professor Boardman has sustand severe internal injuries" Gideon informs them
"Prepare the MedBay to receive Professor Boardman and get us out of here!" Rip orders Gideon
"Course heading?"
"Anywhere but here!" The ship took off and they escaped into some weird green void.
"Our cloaking shield and aft entrance have been significantly compromised, Captain."
"Yes, I can see that, Gideon." Rip unstraps and leaves his seat. "Station us in the temporal zone while I work on repairs."
What the heck is a temporal zone
"Temporal zone?" Palmer asks before Lisa could.
"Yeah, it's essentially a time limbo." He says as he tries to fix the ship. "We can hide out there for a bit. Another temporal jump would risk revealing our position."
"A time limbo? Astonishing." Stein says amazed
"Oh, there's something you people don't know about time travel? That's surprising, isn't it? Considering none of you have ever time traveled before." Rip replies sarcastically and frustrated. "Bringing a family member from the past onto a timeship? Breaking out and carousing around the 1970s? We've barely begun, and already this is the worst, unmitigated disaster of my career." Once he turns Kendra goes to him and punches him in the face.
Mick only laughs and looks to Carter and says "I see why you got the hots for that one." Carter smirks in response before Rip gets slammed to the wall.
"My son is hurt because of you. Who attacked us?"
Rip sighs "Something of a long story."
"Better tell it fast, Rip, 'cause it doesn't look like the lady's in a patient mood." Lenny says while Snart
"Neither am I." Carter says, now serious.
Rip sighs, but answers. "His name is Chronos. He works for the Council of Time Masters." Kendra releases him.
"My former employers." he confesses
"I thought you were a Time Master." Sara says while glaring at Rip
"As I've expressed, time's not a linear thing. At some point I was, in fact, a Time Master. He says before he gets punched in the face again, but this time by Sara.
"Will you people please stop hitting me?"
"Tell us what you're hiding and maybe we will Rip."
Rip glares at Lisa before telling the truth. "I relinquished my position as a Time Master when I commandeered the Waverider. Chronos was clearly sent to bring me in."
"You lied to us." Stein realizes
"Of course I lied to you. I needed your help... you all barely said yes as it was."
"What about the legends part?" Jax asks, starting to get even more suspicious of Rip and judging by his freezing he was right to.
"Ooh, you lied about that too, didn't you?" Snart says.
"I chose you all because, a hundred years from now, your lives have minimal effect on the recorded timeline. I needed your help without disturbing the history of 2166." Rip confesses to them, revealing that they are nothing to the future timeline.
"So, we're like the opposite of legends." Jax defines.
"Give me one good reason why we shouldn't kill you." Mick demands angrely.
"Ditto the arsonist." Stein agrees.
"Because Gideon wouldn't listen to your commands and you'd be stuck here forever." Rip gives his best reasons, which is actually valid but frustrating.
"Great, so we're not an elite team of heroes on a sanctioned mission, sent to rid the future of its most horrific bad guy. Just a collection of nobodies who time really doesn't give a damn about." Palmer says disappointed.
"Got it in one Palmer."
"I didn't lie about the mission itself. Rip reminds them.
"Or the brutality and ruthlessness of Savage. Or my need for your help."
"I don't imagine you're the kind of guy who quits his job and takes on this kind of threat for altruistic reasons, so Rip, why don't you tell us: what did Vandal Savage do to you?"
Rip sighs before saying "The Time Masters discourage marriage. They urge against procreation even more.
A Time Master should be free of any personal entanglements that might compromise him. But... I fell in love, and we had a child. A boy. Jonas.
Then they all realize why he needed their help in the first place. He wanted to save his family.
"Savage kill your family." Palmer realizes
"He slaughtered my family. And thousands of other families. And that body that I swore an oath to serve turned a blind eye. They continue to turn a blind eye. I won't. The last thing that my child saw in this world was that monster's face. You can be damn well sure that when Savage dies, the last face he sees will be mine. I understand, given the circumstances, if you wish to return home. We can make the jump once the repairs are done, if and when Professor Boardman stabilizes."
They all pause and stare at him thinking about what they should do.
"I think we all need a little time to consider our options." Stein says
Lisa decided to sit alone and think about what to do. She then heard a blast and ran to the Cargo bay and saw half of the team.
"Watch it!" Mick yells at Ray(She got used to him enough to call him Ray). Something must have happened while Ray was working on his suit and nearly blasted Mick.
Ray apologizes and signs before saying "What's the point of us even giving this a second thought? Rip has already seen the future. He knows exactly what's in store for each of us. Might as well have stayed dead, 'cause the world doesn't need any of us. You're just a lost assassin. You're just a bunch of good-for-nothing criminals."
"I can live with that." Mick says while tinkering with the heat gun.
"Well, I can't. Can't live with somebody putting a cap on my destiny. Spent my whole life working to be something greater by becoming something smaller. Then some guy comes along and tells me that being the Atom is as insignificant as an actual Atom." Ray says sadly
"That's not what he said." Sara gets up and says "Rip said that in his future we're nobodies, but this mission is about changing the future. I mean, if we have the power to change the world, don't you think we have the power to change our own fate?"
Maybe she was right. When they have a time machine they can just about change anything. Why not start by taking on a psychopath.
"For better or for worse." Lenny agrees.
"That's a very good point." Ray agrees
As they all walked to the bridge they heard Kendra and Carter talking to Rip after the demise of professor Boardman.
"Chronos, even Vandal, won't be the only enemy we face. Very often, it will be time itself." Rip says. That was their cue.
"Whether it wants to happen or not, we're gonna change time, erase Savage's future, and earn our rightful place in history."
"Dr. Palmer is correct." Stein agrees "We may not be legends in your time, Captain, but we are going to decide our own fates."
"I don't give a damn about being a legend, as long as we end Savage once and for all." Carter says
"I can get down with that." Jax is more than happy to help.
"And our malcontents?" Stein asks Lisa, Lenny, and Mick.
"I like killing people." Mick says.
"Sounds like fun." Lisa says.
"We're in. For now." Lenny confirms.
"So how do we find this guy?" Sara asks Rip.
"Professor Boardman had a theory about that. Rip straps in. I've already had Gideon plot a course." And so they all strap in and the Waverider flies back to 1975 to find Savage.
And that is it. Thank you all for reading. I hope you all enjoyed it. If you did I hope that you can read the next chapter and maybe tell your friends about it. I'll see you next time.
Drift out!
