The SUV hit the water and began to sink immediately. Jack quickly undid his safety belt and reached for his lover.

"It won't undo, Jack! It's stuck!" The horror showed on the young Welshman's face. "I...I can't budge it!"

The water began to fill the interior of the SUV., and Jack knew he had to act fast or Ianto would drown. He struggled out of his greatcoat, letting it sink to the floor. He pulled at Ianto's seatbelt, but it wouldn't budge.

"You need to go, Jack!"

"Not without you!"

"They can't find you in here with me! They don't know you're immortal! Please Jack, if you love me...go!" The water was almost up to Ianto's chin. "Go!"

Jack had tears running down his face, as he kissed his lover. "I'm sorry."

Ianto forced a smile. "Don't forget me."

"Never could. I love you." Jack kicked the glass out of the passenger door and swam to the surface.

Blue and white lights flashed. Police. Ambulance. Firebrigade. All in attendance.

Andy Davidson shouted down to Jack. "Were you alone?"

Jack shook his head.

"Ianto?" Asked Andy.

Jack knoded.

A Fireman threaded a water pipe over the rail down to Jack. "Grab on. We'll pull you up."

Jack did as he was asked and as he climbed over the rail, a Paramedic draped a blanket around his shoulders.

"Couldn't get his safety belt to open," Jack told Andy. "He made me leave him down there."

Gwen picked her mobile phone up as it vibrated on the counter top. It was Owen

"Andy Davidson just called me," he said. "The SUV went into the Taff off Clarence Embankment...Only Jack made it out."

Gwen's hand went to cover her mouth. "Ianto?"

"Still in the car."

Rhys was by her side in an instant. "Gwen?"

"Er...the SUV went into the water at Clarence Embankment. Ianto's still in it!" She fell into Rhys' arms.

"He'll need you, love. Get your coat."

Moving back, Gwen nodded.
