A bit longer chapter this time.

Draco Malfoy found himself standing outside the Great Hall, his heart heavy with a mix of uncertainty and determination. For weeks, he had noticed Pansy Parkinson's subtle attempts to avoid him, and he couldn't shake the feeling of unease that gnawed at him.

With a steadying breath, Draco pushed open the doors and stepped inside, his eyes scanning the room until they settled on Pansy, sitting alone at one of the long tables. Ignoring the curious glances of his fellow students, Draco made his way over to her, his steps hesitant yet resolute.

"Pansy," Draco began, his voice soft but filled with an underlying urgency.

Pansy looked up, her expression guarded as she met Draco's gaze. "Draco," she replied, her tone betraying a hint of apprehension.

Draco took a seat beside her, the weight of the unspoken tension hanging heavy in the air between them. "We need to talk," he said, his words tinged with a sense of urgency.

Pansy's eyes flickered with a mix of emotions—uncertainty, fear, and a glimmer of hope. "About what?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Draco took a moment to gather his thoughts, his gaze never leaving Pansy's. "About us," he said finally, his voice steady despite the turmoil within him. "I've noticed that things have been... different between us lately. And I can't ignore it any longer."

Pansy swallowed hard, her heart pounding in her chest as she awaited Draco's next words. "I've been avoiding you," she admitted, her voice barely audible.

Draco nodded, a flicker of understanding crossing his features. "I've noticed," he said, his tone gentle. "But I need to know why. What changed between us?"

Pansy hesitated, the weight of her words heavy on her tongue. "I guess I was scared," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "Scared of losing you to them," she added, her gaze flickering towards the Golden Trio seated across the hall.

Draco followed her gaze, a pang of realization dawning on him. "Pansy, you have nothing to be afraid of," he said, turning back to her with a reassuring smile. "You've always been there for me, through everything. You're my best friend, Pans. And no matter what, that won't change."

Pansy's eyes softened at Draco's words, a sense of relief washing over her. "I'm sorry for avoiding you," she said, her voice tinged with regret.

Draco reached out, gently taking Pansy's hand in his own. "Apology accepted," he said, his gaze unwavering. "But from now on, let's promise to be honest with each other. No more secrets, no more avoiding. Just us."

Pansy nodded, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "Just us," she repeated, her heart lighter knowing that the bond she shared with Draco was stronger than any uncertainty or fear.
