Pokémon: Pokédex no Isekai
Chapter Four: Fossil Fightin' Fugitives
The crew of The Big Beauty had just had their first run in with Team Heart in this timeline, at least the first one that the reborn trainers, who are the only ones who remember the previous timeline, can remember. And they were forced to take an 'L', being dealt it by Jessie no less. James's and Meowth's former companion from their Team Rocket days actually scored a win against the good guys, despite being on the side that is NEVER supposed to score wins.
Because their side is the bad guy side.
But then again, the bad guy side in this timeline had scored some rather major wins, given that they had conquered and now currently rule over half of the known world. And the crew of The Big Beauty will have to go to a lot of the lands ruled by Team Heart for the quest that the reborn trainers are on to complete the Pokédex for all of the regions. They have, in this timeline, most of the Paldea region Pokédex completed, they just need to get a few (hundred) other species from all of the Pokédexes registered as caught.
Now the reborn trainers had Heath pilot Dawn's flying ship to Cinnabar Island, where the fossil revival lab was located. There, Dawn would take the fossils she got from the Pewter City museum to the scientists running the lab and have them revive the fossils into Kabuto and Omanyte. Getting all of the fossil Pokémon may be a bit tricky, and the Galar fossil Pokémon are arguably ethically unsound due to being unholy chimera fused up by scientists who either lack morals or lack a proper amount of sleep.
But at least the Kanto fossil Pokémon will be a snap, as Dawn already owns her named Aerodactyl Ieyasu, and she has the fossils for Kabuto and Omanyte which she can evolve into Kabutops and Omastar. Dawn and the other reborn trainers won't have to worry about other fossil Pokémon until they get to the Hoenn list, although that list comes with worries aside from having to get the fossils to revive into what they need.
Dawn along with Kenny, Trip, and Mina all made their way to the fossil research lab on Cinnabar Island and got the scientists there to agree to revive Pokémon from the fossils that Dawn brought them. After some time waiting, the scientists let Dawn know that her fossils have been revived into a living, breathing Kabuto and a living, breathing Omanyte, both revived into their youthful prime. Surprisingly, both Kabuto and Omanyte are female.
Dawn, not necessarily having the time to do so, skipped nicknaming her new Pokémon, as she and the other reborn trainers had work to do. They had to finish up catching what all they needed, then evolving what all they had to, and then filling up what spots are missing in the Kanto Pokédex before they can do touch trades with Ash to get the Kanto legendary birds registered as caught. That was the last step they had to complete the Kanto Pokédex.
...
"Hey, I'm just curious," Mina said as she and the other reborn trainers had a private meeting in the meeting room aboard The Big Beauty, "But is the identity of the Boss of Team Heart known to the world at large, yes or no?"
Gently shaking his head, Trip said, "No, no-one knows who the Boss of Team Heart is. Not even the Boss's Assistant knows, the Boss reportedly always appears before their assistant wearing a very covering disguise. The Boss's Assistant doesn't even know if the Boss is a man or a woman."
"Well is the identity of the Boss's Assistant at least known?" Dawn asked. It struck her as odd that the way command structures in Team Heart is set up has a lot of similarities to how they were set up in Team Scorn, the multi-region criminal organization in the previous timeline which Dawn and a bunch of other heroes were able to defeat.
As a side note, the reborn trainers ought to look into how Ideku, the hero who defeated the head of Team Scorn in the previous timeline, is doing in this timeline.
Trip let out a troubled sigh. "...Yes, the identity of the Boss's Assistant of Team Heart is publicly known, they're the public face that rules the entire Team Heart Regime. But you guys..." Gently shaking his head, Trip went on, "You guys are NOT gonna like hearing who the Boss's Assistant of Team Heart is."
"Why, is the Boss's Assistant Ayane again?" Kenny asked, remembering how, in the previous timeline, Ayane was the Boss's Assistant of Team Scorn. Granted, it ultimately turned out to be part of a long and very risky ruse that Ayane and Ideku were running to bring down Team Scorn from within, but it was still rather unsettling some of what Ayane had to do.
Trip gently shook his head again. "No, it's not Ayane. I have no idea what Ayane, or Ideku for that matter, are up to in this timeline." Looking to the other reborn trainers, Trip with a grim look on his face said, "The Boss's Assistant of Team Heart is Bianca."
"Bianca?!" the other reborn trainers said in surprised unison. They were NOT expecting Bianca, the blonde haired mid-teens girl from Unova, to be the Boss's Assistant of Team Heart. The last they heard of Bianca, she was steaming in the previous timeline due to being unable to avenge the death of her father who was killed by Admin Swordsman of Team Scorn.
Trip nodded once before using the big monitor screen to pull up a video of a recent address that Bianca, in her position as Boss's Assistant of Team Heart and public head of the Team Heart Regime, made to the territories that were all a part of the Team Heart Empire. The reborn trainers were not prepared to see Bianca of all people being a part of an empire of evil.
She wore a variant of her outfit from the Black and White games in Dawn's previous life, the outfit that Bianca in the previous timeline wore. But the blouse under the sleeveless vest was long sleeved rather than short sleeved, also the long sleeved blouse was black, the skirt which was as long as it was in the previous timeline was also black, the sleeveless vest was pink, Bianca wore glasses like her Black 2 and White 2 counterpart but the frames were pink, the hat Bianca wore was pink with black highlights, and a black Team Heart 'H' was over Bianca's left breast. Bianca was seated in the video so her shoes weren't visible, but Dawn was betting they were black or pink.
The reborn trainers were also shocked to see that Bianca here had gotten rather obese, clearly looking to be at least a quarter-ton. The video showing evil fat Bianca was a little under five minutes long, and it was basically Bianca giving a public announcement to the citizens of the Team Heart Empire, with a bit at the end focused on urging Empire citizens in Unova to help the members of Team Heart in Unova deal with some group of rebels in Unova called Aincrad, a group that had been labeled by the Team Heart Regime as terrorists.
When Dawn asked about Aincrad, Trip was able to explain, thanks to the info that he had been able to get, that Aincrad is an organization of trainers operating in the Unova region, and whether they are rebel fighters fighting to liberate Unova from Team Heart rule or terrorists trying to cause all sorts of mayhem to push their political ideologies onto the Unova region is up to the opinion of the person you're asking about it.
Dawn and the others were surprised to learn that Admin Swordsman who is still alive in this timeline is a leading member of Aincrad, although he's going by his real name of Yoshitsugu. The reborn trainers remembered how Yoshitsugu in the previous timeline valued freedom, and people especially trainers having freedom, above all else. It didn't surprise any of the reborn trainers in the least that Yoshitsugu would lead a group of rebel fighters to try to liberate Unova from the Team Heart Empire.
The reborn trainers were also not surprised that Bianca was, once again albeit in another timeline, up against Yoshitsugu. Dawn and the others were wondering what all exactly happened to drive Bianca to her position here in the current timeline, although Mina asked how in blazes did Bianca get so damn fat. "I think figuring out how and why Bianca joined up with Team Heart is more of a pertinent point here, babe," Kenny remarked.
"And it's a point that we can go over later," Dawn said, "For now, let's just focus on our work to complete the Kanto Pokédex." The other reborn trainers nodded in agreement as they got back out the list of Kanto Pokémon. It still amazed them that they didn't have to worry about getting Mew or Mewtwo, thanks to Dawn getting Froot Loop and catching Kahn. Only the legendary birds, which will have to be touch trades, are going to require help from an outside party.
Hopefully said outside party will be in a good enough mood to help the reborn trainers out when that point rolls around.
The Big Beauty later landed in the route east of Celadon City, where the reborn trainers went about looking to catch more Pokémon to cross off of the Kanto Pokémon list. It was there that Dawn had found and caught a Kanto Pokémon that she was rather eager to get; a Kantonian Growlithe. It was a boy who she ended up naming Fafnir.
"So you're planning to have Fafnir learn tips and tricks from Argent when it comes to certain attacks, huh?" Kenny asked.
Nodding once in the affirmative, Dawn explained, "I want Fafnir to at least learn Iron Head from Argent. It's rather surprising that Fafnir came knowing Flame Wheel, and I'm considering moves like Crunch and Bulldoze to round out the eventual moveset that Fafnir will have."
"Well we've gotten everything that this route has to offer," Trip said, "So I say we head on over to Celadon City and plan out our next course of action."
"Maybe the Kanto Safari Zone is available here," Mina pointed out, "You guys can catch loads of Pokémon there, including Chansey which if I recall can be a pain in the fanny so you ought to get it taken care of so the fanny pain won't persist."
Dawn looked like she was about to say something, but ended up backtracking instead. "That's is a valid idea actually," Dawn said, "Alright, we'll rest in Celadon City, then it's off to Fuchsia City to see if we can hit up the Kanto Safari Zone." The other reborn trainers all gave cheers of agreement, glad to know that the next part of the 'complete the Kanto Pokédex' plan had been laid out.
They just hoped that nothing will crop up that will put a dampener on their plans. Although since Team Heart in Kanto is actively trying to take over the region, then chances are that they may run into some more Team Heart trouble while in Kanto. They're going to be running into Team Heart, multiple time in fact, regardless over the course of their quest to complete the Pokédex for all of the regions. Team Heart, after all, had actually succeeded where the likes of Team Rocket and Team Scorn had both failed.
...
Over in Celadon City, the reborn trainers after The Big Beauty was parked in a public park, decided to go see how Erika, the leader of the Celadon City gym, was doing. Along the way, they passed by Erika's infamous perfume shop, the very place Erika had been known to prioritize over her duties as a gym leader, leading her and her gym trainers to make multiple decisions that by all rights can land them in hot water with the League Commission responsible for Kanto.
To the mild shock of the reborn trainers, however, Erika's (infamous) perfume shop was shut down, and it clearly looked liked it had been attacked by people using, at the very least, Molotov Cocktails or the Pokémon world equivalent of Molotov Cocktails. The signs of fire damage to the storefront could not be denied. "What in the name of Artemis happened here?!" Kenny asked, "It looks like a Charizard cut the cheese in the perfume shop!"
"Well we were going to be seeing Erika anyway," Dawn remarked, "And this is, or rather was, her perfume shop. We can just ask her for the details when we wee her." The other reborn trainers all nodded in agreement and proceeded to follow Dawn to Erika's gym, hoping to find her there so they can check up on her. It's obvious, given what happened to the perfume shop, that Erika could use someone checking up on her to see how she's doing.
...
"Team Heart were the ones who destroyed my perfume shop," Erika explained when the reborn trainers met up with her at her gym, "Although why they attacked and destroyed my perfume shop is up for debate. Some of my girls say it's because Team Heart had accused my store of having racist attitudes, while some of my other girls say it's because Team Heart was demanding monthly pay from them as a 'protection fee'."
"Why would Team Heart accuse your perfume shop of being racist?" Trip asked, looking confused, "I mean I can understand them demanding regular payments to not rough up the perfume shop, but accusing the perfume shop of being racist? Don't tell me that your store doesn't serve customers of a certain range of skin colors."
"I made it store policy to never turn away anyone solely due to skin color," Erika replied, "Fair skinned, cocoa skinned, tannish skinned, none of that should matter. All that should matter is a fine appreciation for quality perfumes. So long as that's present, then customers of all races are allowed to shop at my perfume shop."
Folding her arms over her chest, Dawn asked, "Maybe customers of a certain skin color are a hell of a lot more common at your perfume shop than customers of other skin colors, and that may be the reason why Team Heart could accuse your perfume shop of being racist."
A hint of realization appeared in Erika's eyes. "...Now that you mention it, my perfume shop did tend to get a lot more fair skinned customers than customers of other skin colors. But it was never due to my perfume shop excluding customers of other races! Why would a business turn away potential customers solely due to race? That's turning away revenue! More customers means more income, after all, so customers of all races ought to be welcome to a business!"
Dawn actually agreed with Erika in that sense; customers, regardless of race, can pay for the goods and or services being offered by a business. Gently shaking her head to get back on track, Dawn asked, "So when will your perfume shop be back up and running?"
"No clue," Erika replied, looking a bit lost on what to do, "And there's no guarantee that Team Heart won't try to wreck the perfume shop if it's able to open back up again, unless it's made clear to them that my perfume shop isn't racist."
"How would you go about proving that your perfume shop isn't racist?" Mina asked, "Also, why in blazes would Team Heart care about that, especially to the point that they attacked your perfume shop due to thinking it's been racist?"
Shrugging, Erika replied, "I have no clue as to why they'd care about a store being racist. As for proving that my perfume shop isn't racist, maybe I can find some non-fair skinned persons to come in and act as customers on the regular basis."
"A plant like that may be risky, especially if word gets out it's been done in an effort to dispell the accusations of racism," Dawn remarked.
Throwing her hands up into the air while giving off an air of defeat, Erika complained, "Well I can't think of anything else to dispell the accusations of racism against my perfume shop," Erika said, "Also, it's Team Heart that's fired the accusations at me! No-one else has ever said that my perfume shop has been racist!"
"But you HAVE been known to ban trainers from challenging your gym if they said anything bad about your perfume shop or your perfume in general," Trip said dryly.
"It's my girls who ban trainers like that, I put my gym leader duties above my passion for perfume," Erika said, "I can't tell you how many times I've had to scold my girls when their acts of banning trainers from challenging my gym have landed me in hot water with the League Commission that's responsible for the Kanto region. I very nearly had my gym leader position stripped from me once over a particularly notable incident where a challenger to my gym was barred from challenging my gym by my girls because said challenger declined any perfume, but the challenger said that they had asthma and as such they didn't wanna risk their asthma being triggered."
"Yeah, that sounds like something that can happen," Dawn remarked; another thing about the current timeline that pisses her off is how she still has asthma. Regardless of what world she's in or what timeline she's in, Dawn STILL has to contend with her old friend asthma. It's been a rather big pain in the fanny for her, to say the least.
The reborn trainers next decided to hit up the Celadon City Department Store, figuring that they ought to do some shopping for more supplies to help them with their quest to complete the Pokédex for all of the regions. When they got there, the reborn trainers were searched by some security men who were part of the regional security for Kanto to protect against any possible act carried out by Team Heart.
The regional security men were a bit more asshole-ish than what Dawn would have liked, but they still let Dawn and the others pass into the Department Store. "Well I got it from hearing other customers here in the Department Store as we came in that the attack that had been carried out against Erika's perfume shop by Team Heart was rather recent," Trip said, "Maybe regional security for Kanto here in Celadon City is just wound up over it."
"It still doesn't give the regional security men any excuse to be assholes towards us," Dawn replied as she browsed the selection of various models of Pokéballs. The reborn trainers all agreed that any wild legendary or mythical Pokémon that they came across would be caught in the Master Balls that they still had in this timeline, and there was a plentiful amount of them. But for the Pokémon they were gonna catch that WEREN'T legendary or mythical, other models of Pokéballs were going to have to be used.
They weren't gonna waste a Master Ball on something like a Magikarp. That'd be both wasteful and just plain silly.
As Dawn picked the amount of various models of Pokéballs that she'd be getting, she was startled when an explosion went off, making her and the other customers inside of the Department Store all flinch as smoke and fume filled the air. When that cloud settled down, Dawn and the others all saw it as a good number of Team Heart members all stormed into the Department Store, crying out loud and angry demands for surrender and for the stores at the Department Store to cough up all of what money they have.
The regional security men, all of them sporting expressions that made Dawn think they just found their asshole-ery had been justified, ran in to confront the members of Team Heart. But the regional security men were stopped cold as just some the grunt level Team Heart members present were enough to keep all of the regional security men at bay, letting their fellows go on as they pleased with their crime-doing.
The reborn trainers all got ready to confront Team Heart, but stopped short when a male voice called out, "Aww crap, Dawn Berlitz is here! I was not expecting this!" The reborn trainers all turned to look in the direction that the cry came from, and saw a Team Heart member who, judging by his unique outfit, had to be the Team Heart Officer that was leading this attack.
He had tanned skin and black wavy spiky hair. His outfit was a pink tracksuit top that had black highlights, a black armband on his left bicep, tracksuit leggings to match the top, and black shoes with pink highlights. A black Team Heart 'H' was on the tracksuit top, above the left pectoral. This uniquely dressed Team Heart member was accompanied by a male Team Heart member dressed in the standard male Team Heart grunt outfit. Said grunt was fair skinned and had his hair in a black bowl cut with bangs long enough to cover his eyes, but his left eye was peeking through.
Pointing an accusing finger at the obvious Team Heart Officer, Kenny said, "Your discount dastardly deed-doing ends here and now, Team Heart!"
To the surprise of the reborn trainers, the obvious Team Heart Officer actually agreed. "Yeah, I had no warning ahead of time that Dawn Berlitz and her companions were going to be anywhere here in Celadon City," said the Team Heart Officer, "I'm gonna have to call for all of my men to abort the mission here and get the hell out of town."
"So I have you guys worried," Dawn said, figuring she might be able to get some info out of Team Heart via intimidation.
"Well you and your companions here are some of the strongest trainers around, with multiple legendary Pokémon each," said the Team Heart Officer, "Captain Jessie was sent out of Kanto to a territory under Team Heart rule to better protect her after her run in with you guys, but I don't know where she's been sent to."
"Damn it, Jessie's been sent to a safe zone for Team Heart," Kenny scowled. Given the political climate right now, trying to get any payback against Jessie while she's on ground belonging to Team Heart is more or less not an available option. To make matters worse other Team Heart members don't know where Jessie's been sent to.
Looking to the Team Heart Officer before her and the others, Dawn said, "Can we at least get your name?"
"I'm Mendoza, Third Captain of the Kanto Sector of Team Heart," replied the now identified Mendoza, "The fellow with me is Rivera, the Captain's Assistant who serves me."
"And right now we ought to do as Captain Mendoza said and get out of here," the now identified Rivera said, "We don't stand a chance against you guys."
"Fat chance of that happening!" Mina declared, "The chance of us letting you guys get away is fatter than your Boss's Assistant, and we've seen what she looks like so we know she's hella fucking fat!"
Mendoza looked rather pissed the moment Mina made her comment. "...Change of plans," Mendoza began, his tone calm but clearly concealing a brewing storm, "My men and I will kick the ass of the girl who had decided to make a bunch of fatphobic comments about Lady Bianca, THEN my men and I will all high tail it out of here."
A few more Team Heart grunts came over to even the numbers, and the battle began with Mendoza sending out a Dodrio and Rivera sending out a Koffing. "Go, Kermit!" Kenny said as he sent out his named Politoed Kermit.
"Go, Jolteon!" Mina said as she sent out her shiny Jolteon, "Use Thunderbolt on Dodrio!"
"Kermit, use Scald on Koffing!" Kenny called out as he and Mina fought Mendoza and Rivera as Dawn and Trip fought the nameless Team Heart grunts.
"Dodrio, use Drill Peck on Jolteon!" Mendoza ordered.
"Koffing, use Sludge on Jolteon!" Rivera commanded.
Mina was surprised that Team Heart was ganging up on her, but it was redundant as Dodrio and Koffing both went down before their attacks could land. After Mendoza and Rivera recalled their fainted Pokémon, Mendoza sent out a Rapidash and Rivera sent out a Zubat. Again, both Pokémon were ordered to attack Mina's Jolteon, and again both enemy Pokémon went down before their attacks could land.
As Mendoza and Rivera recalled their fainted Pokémon, Mendoza scowled bitterly in defeat. "You had just made a bitter enemy, girl," Mendoza spat at Mina, "You had just committed the ultimate taboo in accordance to Team Heart creed. You had best not make the mistake of committing said taboo in lands under the banner of Team Heart, otherwise you can AND WILL be arrested and put into jail for it."
"Oh boo hoo, so I insulted your dear leader's Assistant," Mina taunted back, "What's the big deal about it? I bet people outside of Team Heart insult your leader's Assistant all the time!"
"What made your slander against Lady Bianca so unforgivable is that it was fatphobic in nature," Rivera pointed out, "Team Heart creed holds fatphobia as the worst form of discrimination. When Team Heart takes over a new land, stamping out fatphobia is the FIRST thing that's done."
"You... you guys think fatphobia is the worst kind of discrimination?" Kenny asked, "I meam sure, all forms of discrimination are bad, hell before we came to the department store we had a talk with Gym Leader Erika who said you guys wrecked her perfume shop because you had accused her of being racist. Racism is a rather bad, harsh form of discrimination."
"Well Team Heart creed holds fatphobia as worse than racism," Mendoza said, "We hold it worse than all other forms of discrimination." Kenny and Mina wanted to try to grill Mendoza and Rivera for more on Team Heart creed, but a few Team Heart grunts came over to distract Kenny and Mina so that Mendoza and Rivera could get away. "The girl had been fatphobic!" Mendoza said to his men as he and Rivera fled, "Try making her pay!"
Kenny and especially Mina were forced to let Mendoza and Rivera get away, given that fresh to battle members of Team Heart got all up in their faces. The exchange with Mendoza and Rivera, however, did give Kenny and Mina some insight into the mentality of Team Heart as a whole.
But just how far exactly does said mentality go? What could have caused Team Heart to view fatphobia as the worst form of discrimination, apparently worse than racism at least? Such a way of thinking was a mystery that was wrapped in an enigma that was wrapped in a burrito. But it was a mystery that Kenny and Mina, plus Dawn and Trip, were gonna look into.
Out of the twenty-eight Team Heart personnel who attacked the Celadon City Department Store, six rank and file level members were actually captured. The regional security men who were present claimed credit for all of the captures of Team Heart personnel at the Department Store attack, all of said regional security men boasting and bragging about how their efforts help to keep Kanto safe from Team Heart.
The boasting and bragging of the regional security men was met with complaints from various trainers who were present, with many of them pointing out how the regional security men had been largely ineffective, all of them being defeated during the Department Store attack and the regular trainers themselves had to pick up the slack. The regional security men as a response attempted to arrest and or detain several of the trainers who had called them out.
While all of that business was being sorted out, some law enforcement personnel were speaking with the reborn trainers. "Yeah, those regional security men are acting well outside of the limits of what authority they have," the first officer said, "But that's besides the point. I got it that two of you had confronted a Team Heart Captain and his Assistant?"
Nodding once, Kenny said, "Yeah, me and my girlfriend Mina. Those guys went off because Mina made a comment about the Boss's Assistant Bianca of Team Heart that referenced Bianca's weight in a rather unflattering manner."
"Yeah, a general idea of Team Heart creed is known to the world at large," the second officer said, "They hold all forms of discrimination as foul, making it punishable by law in the lands that they had taken over. But for some odd reason, Team Heart has decided that fatphobia is the worst form of discrimination. There had been at least two known reports of a person in a Team Heart-ruled land that had been reported to have been fatphobic actually being put to death because of it."
"They had actually put people to death for making fun of fat people in their lands?" Dawn asked, looking surprised.
Nodding once, the first officer said, "Oh yeah. And that reminds me. I got it that you have a flying ship and go from region to region. A bit of advice, avoid going to Team Heart-ruled lands if you can do so, but if you can't then take care while in Team Heart territory to not openly say anything that can be taken to be fatphobic."
After a few more issues were taken care of, the reborn trainers were relieved and allowed to go about their business. The Department Store owner even let them take what all they were planning to buy free of charge as thanks for helping to drive off Team Heart. With their business done, Dawn and the others returned to The Big Beauty.
...
"So Team Heart is very anti-discrimination," Kenny began as he and the other reborn trainers had a private meeting in the meeting room aboard Dawn's flying ship as said ship flew onwards towards its next destination, "And they hold fatphobia to be the worst kind of discrimination. Worse than racism apparently."
"It's obviously a sign that hints to the deeper psyche of the higher ups of Team Heart," Trip said, "It may even hint to the motivation of the Boss of Team Heart themselves."
Shrugging, Mina said, "I'd be willing to bet good money that it's also a motivation for Bianca, given how fat she is here."
"But there's still a lot about Team Heart that we don't know," Dawn remarked, "So until we get some more info on them, it's best that we play it safe when it comes to Team Heart." The other reborn trainers all nodded in agreement before they moved on to discussing how to best go about filling up the rest of the Kanto Pokédex.
(Opelucid City, Unova Region)
Bianca, the Boss's Assistant of Team Heart and public head of the Team Heart Empire, was sitting in her office at the stately manor in Opelucid City's wealthy neighborhood. She was at her desk, going over some forms related to Team Heart enforcing its rule over the various territories that it had taken over in its various conquests.
A notable growl escaped from Bianca's very considerable belly, making Bianca stop and rub a plump hand over said belly. Bianca was undeniably a rather well fed girl, clocking in at a shade over two-hundred and forty-three kilograms. But by no means was being fat a bad thing to be made fun of. At least not in the Team Heart Empire.
Bianca got up from her chair, waddled her way over to the double doors that led into her large and stately office. However, a maid wearing a maid outfit with long sleeves and the dress reached halfway down the shins entered the office when Bianca was halfway between her desk and the double doors. The maid's outfit was pink and black, with a black Team Heart 'H' over the left breast.
"Oh, Lady Bianca," the maid greeted, a bit surprised, "I was just about to come see you."
"Why, what's up?" Bianca asked.
"There's some terrible news out of Nimbasa City," the maid said with a troubled expression, "The terrorist group Aincrad carried out an attack at a fashion show that Nimbasa City gym leader Elesa was throwing. No-one was killed, but seven Team Heart men were injured while trying to fight off those terrorists and protect civilians. Two of the injured men were critically injured."
An unamused scowl appeared on Bianca's round, plump face. "The men are being treated, right? Wait, were any Pokémon seriously hurt?"
"Only a Krokorok was in the line of fire for attacks from the Pokémon used by the Aincrad agents," the maid replied, "But it only took two Thunderbolts and a Psychic. As a dual ground dark type, Krokorok was immune to every attack that hit it, so it got out of that chaos without injury."
Bianca let out a relieved sigh as she held a hand over her chest in a gesture of relief. "Good, it'd be in poor taste if we don't help the Pokémon who also fight to fend off those evil terrorists who'd try to bring harm to the Team Heart Empire."
The maid looked concerned. "You're still upset with the injury your father suffered at the hands of Aincrad Leader Yoshitsugu, aren't you?"
"My father is still alive and in one piece," Bianca said, "But that doesn't make the injury he suffered any less severe. Anyway, what's being done to resolve the terrorist attack that Aincrad launched on the fashion show that Elesa held?"
"As we speak both law enforcement and Team Heart men are scouring all over Unova, fanning out from Nimbasa City," the maid replied, "We'll catch at least one member of Aincrad before the week is out, at least according to what I was told by one of the Team Heart men who informed me of what all had happened in Nimbasa City."
Bianca nodded approvingly. "Good, I'm glad to hear it."
Looking curious, the maid asked, "Umm, why were you leaving your office before I came to see you, Lady Bianca?"
"Oh, I was getting hungry so I was going to grab something to eat," Bianca replied.
The maid looked relieved that Bianca's reason was so simple. "Oh, I can let the kitchen staff know and have them make something for you. Oh, I don't mean to tell you what to do, but Champion Nate and his girlfriend Rosa are here. Champion Nate said something about his older sister Hilda, but he seemed annoyed, as if he were being pressured into going out on a limb for someone else's sake."
Bianca sighed in a knowing tone. "Oh yeah, Hilda was arrested last night because she made a snide comment about my weight while we were having dinner as friends with Hilbert and Cheren. I guess Nate wants me to have his older sister pardoned."
"Hilbert and Cheren are also here with Nate and Rosa," the maid said, "They seem like they may also want to argue for letting Hilda out of jail."
Bianca smiled a bit. "Well I suppose that the boys can join me for lunch. Rosa too, she's such a sweet girl, I wonder if Hilbert being her older brother has anything to do with it. If so, then it's rather amazing that Nate is nothing like Hilda." The maid then led Bianca out the rest of the way from the office, escorting her out to see her guests while lunch is prepared.
END, CHAPTER FOUR
Author's notes;
This chapter shows the reborn trainers getting a few more Kanto Pokémon, with Dawn getting Kabuto, Omanyte, and Kantonian Growlithe. The crew of The Big Beauty then heads to Celadon City and learn that Erika's (infamous) perfume shop was attacked by Team Heart, with one theory as to why being that Team Heart had accused the perfume shop of being racist.
The reborn trainers later learn that discrimination is something that Team Heart simply doesn't have the heart for; probably why they'd react so strongly to a shop accused of being racist. Kenny and Mina during an attack on the Celadon City Department Store learn that the form of discrimination that Team Heart abhors above all others is, surprisingly enough, fatphobia.
The attack is eventually stopped, and a few Team Heart men are even captured. But both Captain Mendoza and his Captain's Assistant, Rivera, escape capture with the rank and file men who weren't caught. Dawn and the rest of her crew see it that Team Heart, although their men are captured more easily than Team Scorn's were, are still a dangerous and tricky force to deal with.
And a scene at the end shows Bianca, who is the Boss's Assistant of Team Heart, in a manor home in Opelucid City, Unova. She's informed by a maid of a terrorist attack that was carried out over at a fashion show in Nimbasa City, and that she has some guests visiting her to try to convince her to let the female player character from the original Black and White games out of jail.
The next chapter will see Dawn and her crew further work on completing the Kanto Pokédex, as well as deal with more Team Heart shenanigans. Until then, take care.
