Chapter 8: Trekking Through Eterna Forest! Tending To The Ill Guardian Leafeon!

During breakfast the following morning, Michael, Twilight and Roxanne were quickly going out the group's shared supplies.

Michael - "What do you two think? We have enough till we reach Eterna City?"

Roxanne - "For now, yes. But we will need a restock once we DO reach Eterna City. Especially with Fluttershy, Fauna, and Clair joining us there."

Twilight - "I'm more curious to see just what can be found in Eterna Forest while we walk through it."

Once breakfast was done, the party resumed their journey, heading back east onto Route 205, then turned north as they headed towards Eterna Forest. Upon entering the forest, they noticed a woman with braided emerald green hair looking around.

Michael - "Are you ok there miss?"

The woman then turned towards Michael and the party.

? - "Hello, my name's Cheryl. And you all are…?"

Michael - "I'm Michael Masi. And these are my friends. We're on our way to Eterna City through the forest here."

Cheryl - "Oh, I see. I'm sincerely glad to meet you all. Oh, may I ask a favor of you all?"

Twilight - "What is it Cheryl?"

Cheryl - "I want to get through this forest, but I'm afraid of doing it alone. Especially since I've heard that there's a sinister group of people that call themselves Team Galactic were about. I think there'd be safety in numbers. Please, may I go through with you all?"

Michael - "Sure, why not. We're all going to the same location anyway."

Cheryl - "Thank you very much. And don't worry, my Blissey and I will keep you all in prefect health."

Cheryl then brought out her Blissey, which Michael quickly recorded as seen in his PokéDex.

Roxanne - "Michael. Isn't that…?"

Michael - "That's correct Roxanne. Thanks to Cheryl here, I now have ALL of Johto seen."

Cheryl - "Well I'm happy to help you a bit with your PokéDex Michael."

Soon the party, helping escort Cheryl, started making their way through the forest. Upon reaching the halfway mark, they stopped for lunch. While no one else noticed, Delcatty spotted something out of the corner of her eye.

Delcatty - "What's that?"

Espeon - "What is it Delcatty?"

Delcatty - "I thought I saw something in the bushes."

Delcatty then suddenly rushed into the bushes.

Espeon - "Wa-Wait for me!"

Espeon then quickly followed Delcatty, with no one else realizing they were gone. After lunch was over, Swampert suddenly noticed that Delcatty was missing.

Swampert - "Michael. Delcatty's missing."

Michael - "Strange. That's not like Delcatty to not tell either you or me she was going to be doing something."

Blaze and Tundra then walked over.

Blaze - "Delcatty's not the only one missing. Espeon's missing too."

Michael - "That's a bit strange for the both of them to be missing. Especially in a forest as big as this one.

Tundra - "I did hear Delcatty say something her spotting something out of the corner of her eyes in the bushes. Then she rushes into the bushes to chase after what she saw, with Espeon quickly following her."

Michael - "I see. Let me inform the others about this."

Michael then walked over and informed the girls about Delcatty and Espeon going missing. After a few moments, he returned to his Pokémon.

Delphox - "So what's the decision?"

Michael - "For the time being Delphox. You, Brionne, Blaze, and Tundra are to stay here with the girls in case Delcatty and Espeon return while Swampert and I go out to look for them."

Brionne - "You both be careful."

Swampert - "Don't worry sis. We will."

Michael returned most of his Pokémon. Then he and Swampert quickly head into the forest to find Delcatty and Espeon. After a few minutes of searching, they found the female feline duo.

Swampert - "There you both are."

Delcatty and Espeon turned to see Michael and Swampert. Swampert then hugged Delcatty.

Michael - "You both had us all worried."

Espeon - "Sorry Michael. Delcatty spotted someone spying on our camp and went to track them down, and I followed to support her."

Michael - "Well you two aren't in trouble for trying to protect the rest of us. But still make sure to inform us all of the current situation."

Delcatty - "Yes Michael."

Michael - "So… Have you two found our spies?"

Espeon - "It's… A bit more complicated than it looks."

Swampert - "What do you mean by that?"

Delcatty and Espeon quickly explained the current situation. Michael and Swampert were then shown by Delcatty and Espeon what they found. In the clearing they were looking at, they saw a Leafeon laying down, and it was very sick. Moving back and forth throughout the clearing tending to Leafeon were a Fomantis, Bounsweet, Cottonee, and Petilil. After a few tense moments, Michael slowly entered the clearing, Delcatty and Espeon on either side behind him and Swampert bringing up the rear. Formantis then spotted them.

Fomantis - "Halt!"

Michael and his three Pokémon stopped in their tracks. The Grass-Type quartet then marched over to them.

Bounsweet - "Who are you and just what do you want?"

Fomantis - "Relax Bounsweet. Something tells me this lot are the good ones."

Michael gave a caring smile to the four Grass-Types. He then turned his attention to the ill Leafeon.

Michael - "I take it Leafeon here is the leader of the entire forest? And just by looking at her current condition she's not doing so well right now."

Cottonee - "That's correct. The four of us have tried EVERY single natural remedy we can think of to cure Miss Leafeon's bizarre illness. But nothing works."

Petilil - "Also how did you know that Leafeon's a girl before we said so?"

Michael's eyes then flashed a mix of bright purple and silver.

Fomantis - "An Aura Guardian… Please. There must be a way for you to save Miss Leafeon."

Michael - "Have the four of you ever considered of taking Leafeon here to the Pokémon Center in Eterna City."

Bounsweet - "To be honest, we wanted to. But due to how extremely rare the four of us are outside of Sinnoh, we didn't want to take the chance of being separated from Miss Leafeon and her illness going uncured."

Michael - "That's fair."

Michael then suddenly had an idea.

Michael - "How about this then? The four of you accompany me to the Pokémon Center so Leafeon can be looked at. Besides Swampert, Espeon, Delcatty and a few others, I have the rest of my Pokémon on me. So I'm more then capable of protecting the four of you.

Swampert - "What do you want the three of us to do for the time being Michael?"

Michael - "For now, just return to the others and explain to them the current situation. And then I'll meet you all in Eterna City."

Espeon - "Leave getting the others out of the forest to us. You just worry about getting Leafeon to the Pokémon Center."

Michael - "Of course."

Michael then gently picked up Leafeon as Fomantis, Bounsweet, Cottonee, and Petilil jumped on his shoulders. He then rushed towards the Pokémon Center in Eterna City. Meanwhile, Swampert led Delcatty and Espeon back to their campsite. Upon reaching it, the trio quickly informed the girls about the current situation.

Twilight - "I see. That truly is grave news."

Cheryl - "I know I asked you all to help me get through just Eterna Forest here. But now I want to stay with your group a bit longer. At least until we know how Leafeon's doing."

Roxanne - "I'm ok with that. Besides we're all worried for Leafeon as well."

The rest of the party agreed to Cheryl staying with them for longer for the time being. Soon they continued on their way to reach the other side of Eterna Forest. When they reached the other side, it was nighttime. They then finally reached Eterna City.
