Chapter 14: A Beautiful Ghostly Dance! Vs. Gym Leader Fantina!
The following morning, the entire party, along with the newly joined Cynthia and Mars, got together during breakfast.
Michael - "Cynthia. Mars. You both feeling ok after last night?"
Cynthia - "We are Michael. And again. Thank you for saving us both."
Michael - "Not at all."
Mars - "By the way. Can we all ask about the Pokémon egg next to you?"
Cynthia and the rest of the girls were very surprised that Mars spotted the egg so easily.
Michael - "Well a few of my Pokémon joined me for my morning jog around the city. During the jog, we spotted a hiker who looked like he needed to find someone. I called for a quick break, during which I walked over and talked to the hiker. He admitted to finding the egg, but not having the time or means to tend to it. So he offered it to me. After taking the egg, I cancelled the rest of the jog and we returned to the Pokémon Center. I then showed Nurse Joy the egg and she kindly gave me an incubator for it. And so here we are now."
Soon everyone got their food and began eating.
Azura - "So what's the plan for today?"
Michael - "Well Bijou and I have out gym challenges. By the way Bijou you can go first."
Bijou - "Thank you Michael."
Michael - "Then afterwards I'll update the Professors on my PokéDex."
Azura - "You want me to stay hidden during that time?"
Michael - "Yes."
Twilight - "Why would you have Azura do that?"
Azura - "Michael and I agreed that it'd be better to surprise the others with me and Artoria returning in person rather than through a screen."
Rarity - "That does make sense."
Michael - "Also before I forget. What was it that you two found that caused you both to betray Cyrus?"
Cynthia and Mars shared a quick glance with each other.
Mars - "While the both of us do want to share what we found. We're both willing to wait till we reach Lake Valor before explaining everything."
Roxanne - "That's fair. Helps that you two don't need to explain multiple times."
Cynthia - "However. We WILL admit this tiny piece of info though. The name of the operation that nearly took Michael's life was called Pokémon Soul."
Calli - "Pokémon Soul?"
Mars - "Yes. The file for it, which I had thought was destroyed for a good while now, was sitting on Cyrus' desk. Something tells me that the plan for it failed due to Michael's interference back then."
Michael - "We can go over that in due time. For now, let's just focus on today's events."
The rest of the party quickly agreed. Soon they finished breakfast, then made their way over to the gym. While the others went into the stands, Bijou took her place as she took her gym challenge. The battle was back and forth, but Bijou won and earned her gym badge in the end. Soon she and Michael switched places.
Fantina - "Ohohoho! Finally, you have arrived! Since I came to this country, I always try to learn new things. They hold contests in this city? I say to myself, enfin, I will excel. That is why I dress this way. C'est une performance! Also, I've studied Pokémon very much. I've come to be the Gym Leader. Even though I've accepted your challenge, I know that I'll win. That's what a Gym Leader does, non?
Samantha - "This is a 3-on-all battle between Gym Leader Fantina and challenger Michael Masi of Pokémon Island! The battle will continue until all Pokémon on one side are unable to battle! Are both sides ready?"
Both trainers activated their Battle Disks.
Fantina - "Dance Dusknoir!"
Michael - "Delcatty I choose you!"

Fantina returned Gengar. Then she and Samantha met Michael at midfield.
Fantina - "I am dumbfounded! So very, very strong! You, and your Pokémon, so very strong! Your power is admirable! I shall honor it with this Gym Badge!"
Samantha held out a tray with the gum badge in it. Fantina took the badge off of the tray, then held it out to Michael, who happily took it.
Michael - "Alright! Gym Badge Number 3! We just won the Relic Badge!"
Delcatty - "Yay!"
Soon rejoined the girls, where they returned to the Pokémon Center to update the Professors on his PokéDex.
