Here is the next chapter. Please read and review thank you love Hermione xxx
"Welcome Mr Longbottom and please have a seat. I've just been having these five minute meetings with all those first years in my class because I wanted to discuss something with each of you privately. In my studies of the dark arts I came across Lord Voldemort and read a text somewhere that said he had only become that way as he had an awful childhood devout of any love at all. Now I am asking everyone how they grew up for obvious reasons. I just don't want to have ignored the text as myth and then find out someone had a terrible childhood. Dark arts can be found in any home and are not always magical but physical too. How was growing up in your home?" he asked as Neville blanched all the colour draining from his face scaring Marvolo a little. He didn't remember the Longbottom name so he'd definitely never killed his parents.
"I grew up with my grandmother sir. Bellatrix Lestrange used the crutiatus curse to torture my parents to insanity for information or something I don't know. I do know that the dark lord did not ask her to do it because she bragged afterwards about how he hadn't asked her to do it but she was taking the initiative, something he would like and reward her for. I might have been just over one year old sir but I still remember it. I still remember that I couldn't get to them and help them. I wasn't strong e…enough!" he said as he burst into tears while Marvolo seethed internally. She would pay for this and he wished to try something to see if it might work for them but first he'd deal with Neville. Neville was thankfully the last person he would be seeing today.
"Oh Mr Longbottom I am so sorry to hear that. That is indeed very tough. Where are they now your parents? Are they in Saint Mungos? If you like I can call by there this evening and give them some flowers" he said soothingly as Neville looked at him in awe.
"Wow yes they are. You'd really do that for me? Thank you so very much sir. No one has ever cared all that much about it till now if you don't include my friends of course. I just meant no adult has ever sympathised with me and I needed to hear it. Thank you again!" he said drying his eyes with the handkerchief he'd summoned for him.
"You are most welcome Mr Longbottom. I want you to know you can come to me about anything at all in the future ok? I may not be your head of house but I can still help you as and when you need it. Now I need to ask you because I am curious to know if you know if you know which first years are the Lords of the founders. I know that the sorting hat only repairs itself when they are all present as I read it somewhere in Hogwarts A History" he said as Neville looked highly panicked.
"Make a vow sir that you will not tell anyone at all about it and I will be able to tell you!" he said seriously.
"That is fine. I Marvolo Tom Riddle do hereby swear on my life and magic to not reveal the names of the new founders heirs so mote it be!" he intoned the vow shining brightly to show it had taken into immediate affect.
"Well Sir I am the heir of Gryffindor myself. Hermione Granger is the heir of Ravenclaw. Zacharias Smith is the heir of Hufflepuff and lastly Damian Dursley is the heir of Slytherin" he said as Marvolo gasped and then smiled.
"I am so honoured to know you like this Mr Longbottom and may I say congratulations. Slytherin was my old house but to be honest I have always admired all of the houses especially Hufflepuff. Here have a chocolate wand and you can be on your way!" he said handing a now smiling Neville the small chocolate treat who ate it at once and felt better. Chocolate really did solve a myriad of problems didn't it? Marvolo idly wondered why not everyone in their world knew of the healing and comforting properties of chocolate. He'd be sure to tell everyone in each of his classes why chocolate was good in an emergency. He loved the taste of chocolate and he idly wondered if that beautiful colleague of his would love chocolates too if he gave her a box of them. He'd have to try that out sometime and see what happened.
As class let out he called Ivy to him. "Ivy please come here a moment. I think I may be related to Damian Dursley but I do not wish to bother him with it unless I am absolutely certain. Could you please get me a drop of his blood to test please?" he asked the shocked head elf.
"Wow. I be doing it sir but not so to hurt him. Master Dursley be lovely. He be visiting the kitchen and giving us all sweets for our work. We is being very happy and if he is being related to you then we is being most happy!" she squealed popping away and returning with the blood he'd asked for in a small vial. Damian had felt the pin prick but hadn't really noticed so he'd kept going. However as house elves worked so fast he was healed before he even had a chance notice some blood had been taken.
Marvolo took the blood out and put some on an enchanted parchment and gasped at what he'd seen there. Hmm so Damian Dursley had been Harry Potter until he'd changed his name as a toddler. This was indeed interesting information to file away for later. Also he was indeed the new heir to Slytherin and indeed Peverell. This was excellent. As he'd broken all of his own horcruxes he'd made the prophecy null and void. He wasn't interested in killing Harry Potter anymore. Now his main interest was reforming their world in the right way. As he looked once more at the parchment he could see he was actually a cousin of Harry Potter something which amused him greatly. He would try to get on the good side of Damian later.
"Fawkes! Can you please come here if you can hear me because I need some phoenix tears to do good with?" he called out as the stunned phoenix appeared there and promptly cried into the vial he had produced for the tears. He cried into the vial filling it and was exhausted by the end of it but was delighted to do something good with his tears. Elsewhere Filius entered the room the Board of Governors were meeting in.
"Hello everyone! I discovered something made in the muggle world one of my students was using and tried it out myself. It was amazing. I wish you all to behold the pre filled ink cartridge quill. It is in essence a fountain pen designed to resemble a quill. The student in question a first year gave it to another first year as he had spilled ink all over his parchment ruining it. Please try it out and pass it along. I think you will agree it needs to become compulsory on the school shopping list!" he said as they all murmured about the quality of it. It did look spectacular after all. They all tried writing with it and were shocked indeed.
"It is indeed effortless to write with and I do find myself saying that I am amazed by it. My hand hasn't cramped once which it always does with a quill and ink and to be honest although I use one excellently even I spill ink from time to time. Filius how many of these cartridge things would we need?" Lucius asked as Filius smiled.
"Well ok so you screw it off here and put the fresh one in like this. You must hear it click to know it was put in correctly. Once that's done you put it back together and then you use a spare piece of parchment to write one or two words until it's writing smoothly. The student in question Mr Dursley told me it would take about forty cartridges for each student to use over their year here at school. He did tell me though that this does depend on how much you write. Some students will need more if they write more and less if they write and so on. Each cartridge should last one week in length if you're an average student" he said stunned as Lucius appeared to suddenly choke slightly on the pumpkin juice he'd been drinking and go very pale in the face. What on earth was wrong with him?
"Ok then I move to vote and I think we should all vote this in!" he said so quickly the other members of the board were stunned. He'd never done that before yet here he was doing it now. They agreed and the addition was made in school lists for next year. As Lucius was terrified of anything dark lord or Dursley related he was on his very best behaviour. It had been a good meeting where he'd accomplished a lot. He was still thinking about what he was going to do in relation to his order for good parenting. He'd never been parented well and so had done only what he knew.
Marvolo himself had even said he didn't have the right experience but would teach him what not to do. Draco would be in for a huge shock in the coming weeks and Lucius did have it all coming too. If he'd been a more sensible parent things might have worked out for Draco. Marvolo was still thinking about the advice he'd be needing to give Lucius as he left his classroom where he saw her again. His heart race increased and he blushed. She was divine and although he didn't know he didn't yet know her name he was determined to find out. She would make a perfect wife for him. Wow just wow. He was now standing fully fledged staring at her but in that moment he didn't give a fuck how he looked. He was happy for one of the first times in his life and felt amazing.
