Severus gasped and rushed around his desk to Blaise who had since slumped onto the chair beside which he had been standing. He levitated the boy to the hospital wing wondering what had been going on with him that he was like this. Madam Pomfrey rushed out from her office seeing him there like that and gasped. He truly looked a fright.
"Poppy we were discussing something in my office when he proclaimed that he was not alright and promptly collapsed. This is Blaise Zabini of first year ma'am!" he said as she looked at him once more in awe before gesturing him to a bed onto which he placed Blaise very carefully. She muttered to herself and raised her wand scanning him. All of a sudden she gasped herself looking like she might faint as he looked at her in concern.
"Severus this poor boy has been going through some abuse at home and he has indeed been charmed by a Martius Grimm with an extreme glamour charm. As you know each persons magical signatgure is registered and with a name at that so all us medical professionals can identify who cast what. I would wager that Clarisse Zabini his mother never even knew anything about it. I know her personally and I know she'd never in her wildest dreams condone this. I will have to get his sister from Ravenclaw here to test her too. Martius was Clarisse's husband until he died a month ago. She's still not over it. I am so sorry my dear boy!" she intoned removing the glamour as they both vomited in a bin she'd conjured for this reason without getting any of it on the floor somehow. He was covered with belt welts, starved and quite clearly beaten if his broken ribs and several broken bones were anything to go by. Clearly he'd been told that shuold he ever get help for it he'd suffer worse than ever. Severus had seen him grimace many times but had assumed he was very nervous.
She firstly used her wand to fully clean and cleanse his body so it didn't look so filthy. "He has a problem Severus and it isn't just the abuse although it might have caused it. He is partway through a transformation of some kind. His abuse and filthy body did hide it from me initially. It was only when he was cleaner that I could see it. I will need to make him go through the change now and be warned he will scream and it will be awful but it will only last ten minutes. It would last month's otherwise!" she warned waving her wand as he screamed his head off. She placed up a silencing barrier as spell after spell left his system and she watched in awe as his bones healed themselves all in one go him passing out at the same time. He was still wreathing and she hated to see it as did Severus but it was a necessity. They watched as he visibly healed before them his hair becoming longer and his body glowing. His skin cleared up to the point of definitely being the purest skin Severus had ever seen. He seemed to go a lighter tan shade and his hair now hung in long dark brunette waves. He really looked very much like his sister now. His face looked way more masculine and muscular then it previously had too. He looked wonderful.
Having this transformation forcefully stopped before it could even begin to fully continue or even commence had done more damage to him then all the beatings in the world. He was thankfully over it now as the glow dissipated. He was woken up as they heard a scream and Draco was levitated into the room by a terrified Pucey. He looked like he wanted to be anywhere else if truth was told. He was looking around nervously his eyes darting everywhere quickly. It was obvious he didn't want to end up in trouble something which Severus admired him for.
"Sir he started screaming and thrashing moments ago! What the hell is wrong with him?" he asked both annoyed and panicked. Severus looked at Draco and groaned.
"Place him in this bed here please. Despite what he's doing I can in fact vouch for the fact that he's fine. As a punishment for his bad conduct today in Professor Riddle's lesson we decided as a punishment he should be fed a potion for empathy and used Blaise Zabini at random. We didn't know Blaise himself was sick. He'll be fine! For your quick reaction time Adrian take ten points to Slytherin and may I say well done for keeping a cool head when things got stressful. I know you couldn't find me but you did the right thing and should be proud of yourself. I know I am" he said with a smile as Pucey calmed down and thanked them both.
"Please Mr Pucey step over this way. I would like to check you over quickly!" she instructed as he gave her an odd look. He felt fine. She scanned him and smiled. He was alright.
"You may go Mr Pucey. Now Severus I am all about teaching young Mr Malfoy here a lesson but there is no reason he should have reacted like this even still!" she said in concern as Draco was only screaming every so often now. She bustled over to him her robes flowing out behind her as she did so.
"Mr Malfoy can you tell us what the matter is?" she asked as he looked at her tears in his eyes.
"I'm so scared! Ahh!" he called out screaming again. She held a calming draft up to his lips and helped him to drink it slowly bit by bit as he seemed to visibly calm down.
"I saw…saw…a boggart! It was awful. Father told me about those before. I was dying. It was so scary. A dementor was sucking out my soul! I know about those! I read the paper!" he said panicking again although in a slightly calmer manner now. She scanned him as he started to drift in and out of consciousness and then smacked her hand against her forehead in rage.
"Mr Malfoy! Why would you attempt a spell you didn't know how to do properly?" she asked him as he blushed.
"Because it was weird! I don't want to be weird ma'am. I am not…not…a…a…FREAK!" he said as Severus looked at her in awe wondering why she was so furious. What had he done to himself? He hoped it was nothing wrong.
"Well it would seem Mr Malfoy here changed and didn't like it so he attempted to glamour himself but didn't know how to do it and it backfired on him. This is more than likely when he came upon the boggart!" she said reversing his spell as he too gained some weight and height. He had been embarrassed because his voice had gone deeper as did his eyes and he too had changed in appearance. He had attempted to cover it up and failed. Just where had he gotten the idea to attempt to glamour himself? The more Severus thought about it the more he thought about Lucius and how much pride in his appearance Lucius took and chuckled to himself. Lucius always was different in that regard. It then stood to reason that Draco would want to look as normal as he could. As the last of her spells revealed him in his full form Severus gasped. Not only was his hair now turquoise in colour but he was quite literally vibrating. When his eyes opened they too were turquoise. When Severus cleared his throat so Draco would look at him Draco jumped falling through the bed and even the floor to one level below them all making Severus shriek in shock. He then floated up through the floor and looked at him in awe.
"You see Severus I am freak and we are not talking about my metamorphmagus abilities either! I can quite literally walk through anything and bring someone with me if I want to!" he said as Snape warded the area around him obscuring him from view and asking him to come forward which he did without any problems. It had been a high level ward. He could probably sink into the bank right now and rob it blind without getting caught not that he would though. What Severus didn't know of course is that every Slytherin member had an ability which qualified them only for that house. His ability had been his extreme knowledge of potions leading him to becoming the youngest potions master their world had ever seen. It was still as of yet unclear as to what Blaise was but they would find out soon when he woke up.
Severus suddenly started laughing till tears were streaming down his face. He seemed to think something was hilarious but he couldn't place it. As Blaise who had now woken up looked at him with wide eyes in awe he continued to laugh. He was actually irritated he was laughing so much as it felt totally alien to him. He genuinely wasn't used to doing this much laughing in one go. It was so strange.
"But I find it funny not him. I can just imagine the headlines now Malfoy Junior robs the bank!" he said giggling as Severus continued to laugh hysterically.
"For gods sake stop it! I find it funny not you!" he snapped as Severus stopped laughing at once.
"Mr Zabini you are not the first Slytherin house member to have an unusual ability and you will certainly not be the last. You are an empath and I would wager a brand new one so what you feel everyone else will for a while. Also you will now understand how everyone else feels too. You will need to meditate every day for fifteen minutes so your aura doesn't affect everyone else like it did Professor Snape here!" Poppy said handing him a book on meditation as he stared at her in awe. His long hair and paler complexion had meant to be there only it had been stopped by his now dead step father! His sister Maria entered looking at him in awe.
"Blaise I have always known you are different!" his twin said with a smile so bright it shocked him.
"Thanks Mars!" he responded happily as Severus now bore a kilowatt smile himself and felt very weird. He could quite literally feel the love Blaise had for his sister in him now and it was weird to say the least.
"Professor Vector is highly attracted to him by the way!" he said addressing Snape who flinched.
"To who me?" he asked in shock. He'd never thought of her that way. He was highly confused about how he felt for her or any woman for that matter.
" Please stop panicking sir as it's quite annoying. I meant Professor Riddle. She can't stop thinking about him. It's actually rather sweet. Professor Babbling does fancy you though sir and I think that's sweet as well. Wow this is amazing. Mars I am an empath!" he said happily as she smiled at him. All the rest of the Slytherins were brought up to the hospital wing to be tested one after the other and crossed off on a list Madam Pomfrey had in her hand. Severus had in all honesty been shocked to discover that every other Slyherin member had abilities too. What happened with each first year though is that they would go to the hospital wing to be seen for their check up and it would be dealt with properly then. It is for this reason that Severus never knew about it as he didn't need to know about it. He idly wondered what otheer abilities those in his year had. By now he realised his was obviously for potions and potions ingredients. He had asked everyone if he could stay and see what their abilities were and no one seemed to mind which he was relieved couldn't believe that Professor Babbling of all people liked him. That bore thinking about some more. Maybe he should ask her on a date. Actually the more he thought about it the more he realised he should probably be sure of what he wants first. He thought about talkign with Marvolo about it later next people who came in to see her were Damian and Dudley Dursley together what with being twins! This would be interesting for sure.
