The question now became what abilities did Dudley and Damian even possess? No one knew that although they had asked the sorting hat to place them there he would have done so anyway as every Slytherin member always had an ability those in other houses did not have. Some were physical such as Draco's new ability to become such that he could easily float through any surface no matter what protections were on it. Actually Lucius himself had a special ability as did Narcissa. They had never told Draco though in case he didn't manifest his own ability at age eleven in school like they had. Lucius could write anything on parchment by moving his hovering hand over any parchment piece quickly. It was how he had taken such efficient notes in school. He was also imbibed with the ability to write the most influential speeches and love letters for this reason. It was his main reason he'd even gotten so far in his life. His love letters had been the main reaon Narcissa loved him so much. He could be truly romantic on paper at least. As such his ability was more mental than physical which was why not many people had noticed it. The same was true of Severus too of course. Not many had noticed his amazing academic abilities because they were not always physical except when he had actually brewed something innocuous and gotten recognition for it.

Narcissa herself had the great ability of weather manipulation. If she wanted a sunny day it would be so and if she was angry with anyone in her family there would be storms in and around the area surrounding her home. Once twelve years ago when it was rumoured Lucius might have had an affair she conjured a typhoon so fierce it almost totally destroyed Malfoy manor. Since then he'd known to never get on her nerves. "Severus everyone in Slytherin has an ability whether that be physical like Draco's or mental like Blaise's. Now then let's test the twins and see what abilities they have!" she said removing their privacy wards and stepping out of her office to greet them. It turned out that Dudley couldn't ascertain what his ability might be.

"Mr Dursley can you do anything abnormal others cannot do for example?" she asked as he glanced at Damian and blushed his head off.

"I actually can but it's not eh physical. I discovered it while watching a programme the other week. I didn't realise it was unique to me though!" he replied as she asked him what it was.

"I'll just show you!" he said as rattled off a speech in fluent Russian, French, Chinese and Mermish. It would seem his special ability was the understanding of every language out there and the ability to converse in it freely. Severus was wildly impressed. He was essentially multilingual and it was amazing to behold. He'd be well sought after for many career opportunities when he grew up and graduated from school. The question would be of course which career he'd take and it would be interesting to see which one he'd choose for himself. He'd have so many options and he'd need to be careful he wasn't abused for his ability

"Mr Dursley would you mind terribly if I told a dear friend of mine who was a Slytherin in his own youth? I imagine he'd be very interested to work with you in the future. That is certainly a wonderful talent you have and may I say you may well be one of the most sought after students in your year for this ability alone as it is unique to you!" he said as Dudley looked unsure.

"Fine you may tell him but tell him I am not a fool and will know if he tries to abuse it for his own personal gain. Also it doesn't end their ma'am. I can communicate with all animals. For example Professor your owl Midnight would really prefer if you got him chicken treats instead of the normal ones you usually buy as he would prefer them. He is telling me now telepathically although I don't know where he is currently!" he said addressing a stunned Severus Snape.

"Well yes I will of course. Please ask him if he understands me when I talk to him and if you wouldn't mind I will try to find a way with you to help me communicate with him" he said as Dudley looked thoughtful.

"Can I try an experiment sir?" he asked as Snape nodded warily as he took the Professors hand in his and Severus gasped.

"I see! Poppy this is amazing. When I hold his hand I can hear the things my owl is saying to him. It's remarkable. Thank you Dudley. Now Damian what about you?" he turned to Damian who looked highly confused.

"To be honest with you sir I've never thought about it. I wouldn't even know what to look for!" he said feeling and indeed looking ashamed. Maybe he didn't have one after all.

"One moment Mr Dursley!" Madam Pomfrey exclaimed while giving him a potion to drink as a blasting sound emitted from his core. Some unique children did display their abilities before they were eleven and he had been one of them. In the situation as it had stood his parents had blocked the ability within him because it had scared them a little bit. On his first birthday when it had manifested both Lily and James had screamed. His eyes had glowed slightly before the glow faded away again although they hadn't seen it. What scared them was when they looked around things were moving on their own and they no longer believed they were at home although they knew for sure they were.

"Well yes I can see now that it was blocked. I think I scared my parents with it. It's a long story. Not to worry my ability is physical though unlike Dudley's" he said smiling as she smirked at him herself.

"Could you please show me?" she said in trepidation. The last time when she had said that to Marcus Flint for example she ended up with a massive headache all of sudden which went away as soon as he determined that it should. He had the ability to make people sick on command not that he used it very much as he didn't see the point in it. Damian concentrated as they all suddenly found themselves in Paris outside the Louvre as they all gasped their heads off. They were still in the hospital wing but it didn't feel like that at all. When they returned so to speak to the hospital wing Poppy gasped as her potions started to organise themselves via telepathy which he was using. This was indeed a great ability and Severus was proud of it very much. They left after Damian said he could inform his friend of his telekinesis but not his other ability which Severus thought was only fair.

Pansy Parkinson could control the element of water and Daphne Greengrass the element of air. Tracey Davis could teleport to and from her classes in a mere flash which was indeed handy especially since she could bring a group with her if they all held hands. Vincent Crabbe had tested for the ability to freeze things. This meant he could freeze someone if he wanted to and all he would need to do was wave his hands again to unfreeze them. Gregory Goyle possessed the ability of inhuman strength and could quite easily lift the entire Slytherin table with just his hand alone. He would be a hard one to beat if you ever got into a fist fight with him. Theodore Nott could manipulate peoples thoughts if he wanted to which was a thrilling possibility. He would be able to tell what everyone who wasn't either soul bound or a twin was thinking and alter it if he chose to. The last first year to get an ability from Slytherin was Millicent Bulstrode. She could shoot flames from her body at will if she wished to. She demonstrated it that evening in the Slytherin common room when she shot her hand out in the direction of the fire lighting it as all those present in the common room ooh'd and aah'd at her ability.

Severus entered his office and flooed Lucius and Narcissa to come over but then remembered Lucius was still with Marvolo so summoned him to his office at once. He was stunned as Lucius and Marvolo arrived together. "Severus do tell what Draco has done now?" he drawled as Narcissa who sat down beside him scowled at him slightly.

"Well essentially because you never explained to him he'd be getting an ability at age eleven at school he freaked out and tried to glamour himself. He didn't know how to do it properly and then freaked out having a panic attack when he saw a rogue boggart on one corridor!" he snapped as Riddle looked amused.

"We are sorry we didn't think of it. We weren't sure he'd have an ability as my grandparents had one but my parents did not!" he said as Severus groaned and pinched his nose in barely concealed rage.

"Lucius you fool every Slytherin does. For example Tom Riddle could cause pain in others if he wanted to without even raising his wand. Your power is not physical and theirs probably wasn't either. Draco can essentially walk through any kind of wall, floor or ward. I tried the strongest one I know and told him to walk through to me. He couldn't see me but he could come through none the less!" he said as Lucius gasped.

"That is mightily impressive!" he smiled as Snape smiled then.

"Yes Lucius it is indeed. Allow me to introduce myself Mrs Malfoy. I am Professor Marvolo Riddle and I am an old friend of your husbands. I do so love teaching children about defence. Tell me Severus did anyone get an ability you can tell me about?" he asked curiously as Narcissa nodded her head in greeting.

"Yes actually. Dudley Dursley can communicate in any language out there and with animals. What's more if you hold his hand you can hear what the animal is saying to him. Damian Dursley is telekinetic. This of course as you know means he can move things with his mind!" he said as Riddle considered this and smiled. Both would be very valuable and powerful in the future.

"Well that is most useful Severus. I will retire for the evening before heading down to dinner. I will bid you farewell. Lucius I would advise talking to your son!" he said pleasantly but with a thinly veiled threat in place too. Draco was summoned and had them all scream as he rose up from the floor.

"Did you know Professor that there is a library down there? And a potions lab?" he asked as Severus gasped.

"I did not Mr Malfoy. Now you have shown us all your ability your parents will show you theirs. Yes Draco they have them too. Not the same ones you understand. My ability was for exceptional potions and ingredients understanding. Sit down and they will demonstrate them for you just now!" he said smiling at Draco who looked highly relieved. Narcissa and Lucius had the good sense to look ashamed. He looked to Lucius gasping as his fingers roved over a blank parchment piece writing reams of sentences while Lucius looked at him and smiled.

"That must have been so handy for exams and homework dad!" he said giggling a little bit as Lucius smirked.

"Yes son it was. It also enables me to write the most amazing things and has helped me out so much in my career. Now your mothers' ability is indeed very different!" he said as Severus raised his wand and asked them to come out the office door and into a side spare room so she could demonstrate it. Draco was very nervous indeed I mean his mother could do anything. The door closed as she smirked and conjured a whirlwind with an extreme thunder storm which thoroughly trashed the room they were in. They were all windswept and soaking wet by the time she was through and Draco promised to never get on her nerves as a passing rat was quickly killed by being stunned with some lightening which shot out from her hands. Conjuring a heat wave she had them dry in moments and they exited as she smiled at them all.

"Remind me never to annoy you mum. That was so cool!" he squealed as she smirked at him.

"Yes Draco our abilities are all cool but you must not abuse your ability in any way unless absolutely essential. What does your ability do?" she asked wanting him to explain it.

"Well I can go through any material even the strongest ward and bring someone with me if I am holding them. I can also see through things if I want to but I don't want to do that. For example if you blasted through that wall there you would find a hidden door but I don't know where it goes. I am not foolish enough to try and get through it without knowing first where it goes. I cannot see through clothing thank goodness but I can see into bags and through walls and things. Marcus Flint just experienced what it's like to be in the Antarctic!" he said as they all gasped. Dudley was loving conversing with all the animals of his house. It really was cool. They all generally loved their owner's treatment of them. It had been a great day of discoveries so far. Blaise of course hadn't gotten total control of his ability so their house spend the rest of the evening cycling through every emotion he felt which was generally happiness and confusion. Professor Riddle was miffed to see this behaviour from Slytherin house as it wasn't at all like them. Some of them were even laughing. As soon as someone had explained to him what was going on though he understood. It would take a few days to for things to calm down but they would eventually. It would be an interesting day of lessons tomorrow for sure.
