A stack of posters was next to me at the signing. They all talked about my performance and asked when I would release the song for download. I smiled and repeated the same line, 'after the show.'

"Who should I sign this out for?"

"One for Azazel Ameri" I looked up to cheerful Demoness. "Can I say that ending was amazing. You took her challenge and crushed her dreams of winning. That last song, I could defeat terrorists like my dad to that." She punched the air. I smiled, looking past her to Henri.

"A goal of making the world a safer place, is a good one. I think you can be a great leader one day."

Her ears fell and her cheeks redden. "You think so?"

"I know so, I'm sure you already protect those around you with the up most care." I signed her poster. 'To Azazel Ameri, Love Velvetrose. Always keep that fire in you.' I handed it to Ameri who squealed, hugging the poster.

"Write it out to Vi." I wrote the name, and my heart thudded in my chest. I knew that voice, I looked up and handed it to Narnia.

Ameri pushed over him. "Can I hug you, please." Ameris eyes were wide, and heart filled.

"Move along, she has other fans waiting for the same thing." Mar pushed them out of the way. Thank you, Mar.

Afterwards, I pulled Mar to the side. "I might not be able to come back anymore."

"Why, you're doing great. That last song is sure to hit number one soon. Your changing the way music is done. I can see the press now. I must call them and leak the story first." She turned, calling someone. "Yes." And she walked off.

Kumoru looked over. "Everything alright? After Ameri showed up you have been on edge."

I shield us. "Nari came."

"He came? Wait who is Nari?" I explained. "Kalego's brother, Narnia." She covered her mouth. "Oh, my Devi. Girl he is dangerous, haven't you heard the rumors. Why would you ever want to work for him? I thought he looked like Kalego. You know Kalego has liked you forever. Why do you think he put you in the same class as him?" She Face palmed.

"He also did things that hurt me. Nari is the sweetest thing since, I don't know, fairy sugar. I can't get enough. I think… I might be in love or it's my clinging issue. All around me, was for him." I covered my face. "He's always there, and I lied to him about not being available. I told him I was with Eli watching a movie."

"Wait, he does not know you are doing this? Hold up, is he the courting partner?" I nodded and she looked like she was about to faint.

"Did Sullivan match you to for political gain?"

"No, it was our decision." I snapped.

She held her hands up. "Relax, I'm just curios on why you picked what could be the most dangerous known demon." She shivered. "Just the Thought."

"I like this, I'm liked. Do you know how alone I've always felt? I was the odd one, the misfit. I used to have no one. Now I have all of this. I feel like something other than a monster, or an outcast. I'm this cute thing that makes a lot of people happy, not Violetta the girl who ruined a kids carnival."

"You were never a monster."

"I was, don't lie. I can hear a little to well."

Her lips pressed. "Just tell him. He should know so he does not think you are avoiding him when you come."

I took a deep breath. "Okay."

I finished up and went home. Putting all my things in the black duffle bag and shoving it in the closet. I leaned against it, sighing in relief. That was way too close. He was no dumb man by any means, I am sure he realized who I was.

I sat on the couch in his office, looking for the news channel. There were dozens of articles. And I read a lot of them. Some were speculating the rivalry to the sudden popularity. Noting that Gyuri has had a heart on for Kumoru for years. They made comments about me being almost deaf, I frowned.

I clicked a link to devi-tube and watched my performance. I was feeling it all over again. The rush, the release of anger that I held inside. The fans, my hearing suppressants. I covered my mouth. When I flipped my hair out of the way they showed. It was a close-up of my face at that.

I had tugged and adjusted the wig; the tips of the crow visible. This was on the big screen too. I sighed. Damn it I was so into the song I forgot all about those things. Narnia came in, I threw my phone to the side, and hugged him.

"Your chipper this morning." He moved my arms.

"When am I not when I see you." I followed him to his desk. I rested my hand on the back of his chair. "Are we going anywhere today?"

"There is no leads yet."

"What about after?"

"My plate is loaded."

My face lowered, just tell him. "Can we talk about something?"

"About?"

"Last night, I wasn't trying to avoid you. I was…"

"Watching a movie with Eli?" My phone was ringing, Mar.

"I wasn't where I said I was. I know you know that."

"Ah, that. Yes, you couldn't go with me because you were too busy having a singing competition." My phone was ringing again.

"I can stop, it was not something I planned to do long."

"Thirteen crowns is having another dinner; they wish for you to go."

"Nari."

"What Vi? You want me to be happy that you lied to my face? You had two options, and you chose the wrong one. You know that I do not care what you do most, if not all the time."

"I was going to tell you, but when I was ready. If there is nothing for me to do, then I will go." My phone buzzed again, and I answered. "What?"

"You said you could do an interview for the morning talk show, you have ten minutes to get here and be dressed. I sent a picture of the dressing room."

"You know I work at this time."

"You told me last night you could be here."

I facepalmed. "I was distracted."

"Just go, we have nothing for you today." I looked over my shoulder at Narnia who was waving me away.

I turned, frowning. "I guess I will be there."

"Great, get here soon." I looked at the picture and teleported myself there. Changing in seconds. Mar looked me over, fixing my hair and adjusting my mask. "It is going to be just you, and they might ask a lot of questions about your songs, be prepared for deep questions. If you need help look at me."

She moved behind me and was pushing me out the door. A behind stage demon directed me where to go and where to sit. He placed a mic on my shirt and told someone I was ready. A small audience of maybe fifty demons sat in red chairs.

I scratched at the seats armchair as the timer went down. One minute, thirty seconds. Why was I more nerves about this than anything else? Do I lie, tell the truth. What do I do, what questions?

"We are back live, and we have a very special guest this evening. Velvetrose is here and she is going to answer some of your most asked questions."

I smiled and waved. "Hi, everyone."

So, Velvetrose, or might I call you rose?"

"That is fine."

"What got you into music?"

"Oh, that's easy. They way it feels. Music is more than something that can make you happy, it has feeling behind it. The words, how they are portrayed. The beat making your heart move with it."

"Your first song how did that come about? For the first song, you already seemed like you had a fan base to sing it to."

"It was for… someone I hold very dear to me." I looked at my hand. "I always reached for them, relied on them, worried they might leave me like all the rest. When they said they would never do that, I believed that for the first time in my life. I believed."

"You look sad, is this person gone now?"

"No, no. Next question please."

"Everything at once is taking storm, what about that one."

I smiled. "It's right in the words. I want to be everything, all at once. Sharp as a tooth, but sweet as sugar."

"You have sweet as sugar down. What about when you said deep as a bite, sounds vicious."

I chuckled. "You took that to literal. Deep, like digging deep within yourself to show others who you are."

"You played many instruments at once; how many can you play."

I raised my wrist. "I could count them, but this many. I can also play them all at once." I twisted my wrist, the charms jingling.

"That is impressive. Everyone is wondering what rivalry you have with Gyuri. That last song seemed targeted for her. Can we all know what is really going on?"

"If I am honest." Mar was on the side. Nodding her head. "Yes." She gave a thumbs up. "She has been the rival for Kumoru for a long time, you know the history. Well, she thought she could target me like I could not hold my own. She is not the only one who can rock and do metal music." Mar was giving nods and thumbs up.

"What would you call that, the thing you did. You spoke so fast."

"Rock rap, it is like a poem in a song. Spun quickly like silk off the lips."

"That is deep as a bite."

I made a bite the air. "And the lyrics are as sharp as a tooth." I chuckled.

"We fans noticed something during that performance. You have something on your ears, what were those? Some say hearing aids, others thought them manager mics to tell you what to do."

I looked over at the audience. "They are neither." He leaned in. "Hear suppressants. I don't need them so much anymore, but it saves mana to wear them." I uncovered the painted green pieces. "I hear things better than the average demon."

"How interesting. Would you be willing to preform that song or even one of the others?" Mar was nodding her head. Vigorously moving her hands for me to move. "Uh…"

I was not looking to perform here. "I just caught word that another star has entered the building." Mar facepalmed. "Yes, send him in."

I shook my head. 'Help' I mouthed to Mar, and she gave me a thumbs up.

"Look at all the beautiful faces in the crowd." I looked at the stage right.

He grinned and the ladies in the crowd shrieked. He had small bat whings as horns. Short honey brown hair, and green eyes. He walked up to the couch, sitting down with his arms draped crossed around the back. The crowd let out an 'ooh' and whistles as he smiled at me. Who was this guy, and why were they acting like a sit com?

"I am Beerber, nice to be next to you." The crowd was not helping with their encouragement to his attempt to charm.

"Likewise. Come to challenge me too?"

"Relax, not all are against you. I would like if you and I wrote and performed a song together."

Nope, I moved is arm. "I like space."

He leaned over, whispering. "Think about it. You are the most popular demoness, and I am the most popular demon. We would be a power couple."

"Explain what you mean by couple."

"You and I, together. The crowd loves it."

I stood. "No, I'm taken." The crowd awed, one booed. "That's fine if you do not agree." Mar was swiping her hand in front of her neck. Rolling her hand. "Maybe a duet, but do not insinuate things, your half my age and that's weird. Devi-cool?" I gave a thumbs up.

He grinned brightly, arms on the back of the couch again. "Done. Our managers will be in touch."

"You heard that everyone? Expect to hear a duet from Beeber, and Velvetrose. That's all we have time for today. Till next time, stay Devi-tuned." I stormed off to Mar.

"That was awful."

She held my shoulders. "You did great, get those creative juices flowing. You got this."

"I am going home." I closed my eyes, going home. I jump on my bed, pulverizing my pillow with punches. "That little, insignificant. How dare he try that on me. Thinks he's so cute, if only he know how much I wished this pillow was him!" The pillow exploded.

"Um, Viola?" I looked up, turning my head.

"Opera."

"Wait, your Velvetrose?"

I looked down. "Um… maybe." I pulled the wig off. "Yes. I just need to be alone for a moment."

He slowly closed the door. I went back to beating my pillows up. "Thinks a smile is enough to charm someone, ugh. I could ruin that smug smile with a swipe of my claw." I swiped at the pillow, the insides flying all around me.

"I bet there are only two brain cells in there rattling around like rocks. I bet he's never made an original song, riding around on another demon's work. I bet he's trying to use me for just that! Now Nari's not even talking to me." I ripped it apart.

A heartbeat was in my room, I threw the pillow, and it hit something. I about faced, standing on my bed, ready to pounce. I took hold of their body, pressing in. I bared my claws, ripping my suppressants off, and throwing them.

"I know your there, if you don't leave you will find out the hard way not to intrude as Opera will be cleaning you off my floor in a bloody mess!"

They moved closer, I pushed back harder. Narnia's face appearing as he leaped for me. His hands grabbed my wrists, both of us falling back. The room shifted as we landed, I narrowed my eyes on him. Wiggled my wrists, and he shook his head with a sinister smile raising.

"What are you doing?"

"Your reflexes are lacking."

"My power is not." I wrapped my legs around him, flipping him. I stared down at him, smirking.

His hands opened and closed. "I like this."

My eyes looked around the room, this was his room. I leaned down to his ear, speaking low. "Were you trying to get yourself killed." I looked him in the eye.

"I debated if you would, seeing the pillow mess."

I chuckled in my throat. "Oops." I released his hands, laying on his chest. "I am sorry I did not tell you sooner."

"Where did all that fisty attitude go?"

I leaned up and lightly hit him in the chest, he covered his chest smirking. "I'm apologizing. I am a little mad at you're not being at least a little understanding. You have Fenrir."

"And you know about him."

I narrowed my eyes. "You were busy and the first time I see you in days you brought Velvetrose up. That's like… like… me coming to you asking about Fenrir because I think he's cute or something but did not know it was you."

"Yeah?" His hands moved up my body and to my waist. "You think he's cute, and not me?"

"Hmm, I do not know. He has more humor, though his jokes tend to leave a workload on me." I poked him in the chest. "You need to get that one under control."

"Stop spending his money in the cafeteria."

I kissed him, then his cheek. "You mean yours?" I whispered, then bit his ear. His hand came up, running through my hair and gripping a handful.

He pulled me back. "Vi."

"Naberius Narnia." I took a fingered claw down his shirt quickly, cutting a slit. "Oops."

He flipped me over, eyes looking at me up and down. "That was a nice shirt."

I grinned. "Oh, well not anymore. Someone like you should not wear any type of ripped clothing. Let me help you with that." I slid my fingers in, pulling it apart. I bit my lip, as I took in the chiseled physic. Scars littered his chest from countless fights and battles.

I reached my hand up, he hooked his fingers in mine. I smirked, reaching with the other. He snatched it up so fast and had it above my head, my heart raced, and I giggled. He leaned down, our lips colliding in a passionate kiss, lips moving like a lapping sea on a shore.

He kissed down my neck, breathing me in. "You drank the tea?"

"Everyday."

His free hand moved up my thigh, tingling ran up my body. My hands were aloud to roam freely, I touched every curve, and concave of his muscles. Taking his shirt off and using it to pull him closer to me, kissing his soft lips.
