The King

THIS EPISODE/CHAPTER IS DEDICATED TO JACK KIRBY - "KING OF THE COMICS"

"Living with mutant ninja turtles, I've seen all sorts of bonkers stuff during the past few years."

Alex and Donnie stood at the foot of a bridge to an extravagant city in an alternate dimension, weapons ready, as they faced an army that charged right towards them.

"And this is among the most bonkers, possibly THE most."

The army they faced is made up of various different monsters of different shapes and sizes.

"You might think I was dreaming…"

The monsters all roared at Alex and Donnie.

"But I know for sure that it wasn't."

Some of the monsters then charged at the pair.

Alex roundhouse kicked one in the face while Donnie pole vaulted over another with his bo staff. He then knocked another off their feet and Alex helped him take down the one Donnie avoided.

Alex then slashed at one with his katana as Donnie kicked one away in the stomach.

Then they were dodging swipes from one that had claws until they knocked it back, Donnie with his staff and Alex with a kick.

The two then backflipped to the foot of the bridge, landing with their knees bent.

"And even if it was, it'd be more of a nightmare."

All of the remaining monsters roared and charged at them.

On a street in New York, a red truck made a right turn, the same direction a taxi drove down after it pulled out from its parking space, driving past a yellow car, which drove past 2nd Time Around, the antique store owned by April O'Neil, who lives in an apartment directly above.

She allowed Splinter and his sons to stay with her because of the Foot searching the sewers for them, to the point that it would be impossible to make it back to the lair without being spotted.

Within the apartment itself, April sat on the couch, trying to watch a movie, Splinter was on his knees by the windows, Mikey and Donnie sat on pillows on the floor opposite each other, munching on some snacks and Alex, Leo and Raph stood in front of April, blocking her view of the TV as they argued.

"Look, we need to go back down there and flush them stinkin' Foot Ninjas outta our sewers." Raph argued. "And I mean flush."

"Raph, it would be the six of us against a whole army of ninjas. They'd overwhelm us down there." Alex pointed out.

"And we don't even know what they're doing down there." Leo added.

"I don't care!" Raph snapped.

"You should!" Leo snapped back.

"It's pretty obvious why they're down there!" Alex said.

"Indeed, Alexander. You all have thwarted their many schemes and defeated their master. Clearly, they are searching for our lair." Splinter agreed with his human son.

"I thought, with the Shredder gone, we'd seen the last of those bozos." Mikey said before turning to Donnie. "Do you really think they could find our lair? I just got my room the way I like it. And my famous ninja trading card collection is just lying out in the open!" He now started to panic, his hands on his head. "If they take that, I'll - I'll -"

"Relax, Mikey. With all the techno camouflage and security devices I've installed, there's no way they'll find our place." Donnie assured Mikey, calming him down, before grabbing a nacho chip. "Barbecue soy chip?"

"Fire away, bro." Mikey encouraged him and he caught the chip with his mouth, chewing it right away.

"Those ninjerks are keeping us from our home. We should be down there smacking heads." Raph growled, April still trying to watch the TV, but couldn't look around him, Leo and Alex.

"Running into battle without knowledge or preparation is foolish." Splinter sternly told Raph off. "Sometimes it is best to sit still. The answers will come."

"Master Splinter's right. Besides, our home is where we're all together as a family. That's what really matters." Leo reasoned.

"And the Foot won't keep searching forever. They'll give up soon." Alex pointed out.

April then cleared her throat, getting their attention.

"You guys are more than welcome to stay with me for as long as you need to, just as long as you don't stand in front of the TV." She said sternly, making the three move out of the way.

"Uh, sorry." Raph muttered.

"Sorry, April." Leo apologised.

"So sorry." Alex bowed his head slightly.

Then the doorbell rang, making all five brothers gasp.

"Oh, no. Who could that be?" April asked concerningly as she approached the door. "You guys can't be seen. You'd better all -" She stopped when she saw that Alex, the Turtles and Splinter had all vanished, not even any evidence they were even here. "Hmm."

Leo hid directly above the door, Raph swung on the chandelier, Mikey behind the blue armchair, Donnie behind the small table next to the couch and Alex behind the kitchen bench.

April opened the door and it turned out to be a delivery boy with a couple of bags of takeout.

"Chinese takeout, $22.95, lady." He told April, holding up the bags.

"But I didn't order any -" April shook her head, only to glance over at Donnie and Alex, realising they ordered the takeout. "Oh, of course, I did. I'll get my purse."

She walked off, leaving the delivery boy to look around, freezing when he spotted Mikey peeking out from behind the armchair.

"Huh?" He gasped, making him close his eyes and shake his head. When he opened them again, he saw a purple teddy bear, as Mikey hid elsewhere.

He would've entered to explore, but April got back with cash.

"Uh, thanks. Thank you so much. Bye-bye now!" She said, handing him the cash, took the bags and forced him, shutting the door in his face.

"Phew." She sighed, leaning against the door, seeing Alex, the Turtles and Splinter back where they were before the delivery boy showed up.

"Wow, you guys are good." She complimented.

"It's our job." Leo bowed as Raph folded his arms.

"Fifteen years of training doesn't hurt." Alex shrugged as he walked over to Mikey and Donnie.

"We're ninja." Donnie smirked.

"Yeah. Check out my ninja stealth action." Mikey said, grabbing the nacho bag and placing it in front of his face and then lowering it over and over again, saying "Now you see me, now you don't."

"Give me that, Houdini!" Donnie snapped, snatching the bag out of his hand. "You've been hogging the nachos all afternoon."

"Everyone else needs to eat as well, Mikey." Alex pointed out as April stood in front of the three.

"Your order, I presume?" She asked, lifting the bags up.

"He did it." Donnie and Mikey said, pointing at each other while Alex pointed at both of them, saying "They did it."

"May I have the privilege of getting you anything else, m'lords?" April asked teasingly.

"Nah, we're fine. Thanks." Donnie said as Mikey took the bags and Alex sat down with the pair.

"One from column A, two from column B." Mikey said, grabbing three boxes out of the bags, handing two to Donnie and Alex.

"Finally, I've been craving peking duck all day!" Alex sighed before they all started scarfing down their food.

"Ah, I feel like I've gone from happily single to mother of five overnight." April sighed as Alex pulled out prawn crackers and a box of sweet and sour chicken.

"Tell me about it." Splinter said, relating to what she said.

Raph then yawned and stretched his arms.

"Well, I'm hittin' the showers." He told everyone as he headed for the bathroom.

Ten minutes later, Donnie was tinkering with some electronics at the dinner table, where Alex also sat, finishing off his sweet and sour chicken and prawn crackers, Mikey sat on the armchair eating some nachos and both April and Splinter sat on the couch.

Leo was up on the roof to meditate and Raph was of course still having a shower, singing as well.

But then he suddenly gasped.

"Whoa!" He yelled, almost making Alex laugh his ass off by how sudden it was.

He then exited the bathroom, only wearing a towel, which was wrapped around his waist.

"Yo, Donnie! Can you do something about the hot water? A turtle can't even get a decent shower in this joint!" Raph barked impatiently.

"Been there, done that." Donnie replied, not taking his eyes off from what he was doing at the moment.

"Well, go there and do it again!" Raph rudely demanded.

"Ever heard of patience, hothead?" Alex rolled his eyes.

"And why does it always have to be?" Donnie whined as he pulled his goggles off. "Why don't you ask Mikey to fix something once in a while?"

"Are you trying to be funny, Donnie?" Alex raised an eyebrow before they looked over to Mikey, who was scarfing down nachos as he hummed a tune, grinning the whole time.

"Wha?" He asked the pair, who stared at him.

"Never mind." Donnie sighed, placing the trinket he was tinkering with on the table and took his goggles off and stood. "I'll go fix the water heater… again."

"I'll help you, Don. Two sets of hands are better than one. Plus, I'm bored." Alex volunteered, standing as well.

"Thanks, bro." Donnie said gratefully.

"I really appreciate it, guys." April said as they walked past her and Splinter.

"No problem." Donnie assured her.

"Happy to help." Alex waved off.

"But keep an eye out for Kirby. You know, the guy I leased the basement apartment to? I don't need you scaring my new tenant, Don." April advised.

"Don't worry, April, I'm a ninja. Piece of cake." Donnie smiled.

"There's cake? I love cake." Mikey said with his mouth full.

The pair opened the basement door and walked down the stairs, which creaked with each step, barely able to see in the darkness.

"I know there's a light around here somewhere." Donnie muttered as they searched for the light.

"What's this?" Alex asked, feeling a cable. He pulled on it and the light came on. "Oh, there we go."

But before they could go to work on the water heater, they saw a shadow ahead of them from something around the corner.

"What's that?" Donnie gasped.

Then they heard screeching and some bat-like creature flew in around the corner in front of them.

"What the shell?" Alex gasped in fright as he and Donnie took a step back.

It then came at them, making them pull out their weapons and jump out of its way, and again when it tried to get them.

They swatted their weapons at it, causing it to fly around the corner it popped out of.

"What was that thing/" Donnie asked Alex.

"I have no idea, but how did it even get in April's basement?" Alex asked back.

They peeked round the corner and were stunned to see no sign of the creature.

"Okay, that just doesn't make sense. There's no way it should just disappear like that." Alex frowned, his mind baffled in trying to find an explanation.

The pair looked around and spotted a door with lighting coming through it.

"Hmm." Donnie hummed.

They approached the door and looked through the gap, seeing a man drawing in his sketchbook with a pencil that had a crystal attached to it.

"That must be Kirby." Alex whispered.

"What's he doing?" Donnie asked.

Kirby had just finished drawing a winged creature with a circular body, which formed colours and ended up pulling itself out of the page, flying around the room.

"What?" Alex gasped, his jaw dropped as Donnie opened the door.

"How'd he do that?" Donnie questioned.

The two ducked when the creature flew towards them. It flew out of the room and it disappeared within a few seconds.

Kirby noticed their presence.

"What?" He gasped upon looking at Donnie. "A green monster? I don't remember drawing you."

He then stood and started panicking.

"You - you and your friend must be here for your crystal. Look, guys, I was only borrowing it for a while. Just put the stick and sword down!" He said as Alex and Donnie entered the apartment.

"Slow down, friend. I know I must look weird to you, but I'm not here to hurt you." Donnie calmed him down, he and Alex putting their weapons away.

"I'm Alexander, this is my brother Donatello, don't ask how it works, it just does." Alex said, knowing Kirby would ask about how a human and a mutant turtle can be brothers. "Besides, we don't even know about this crystal you're talking about."

"What we really want to know is how you just did what you did." Donnie continued as they walked up to Kirby.

"It wasn't really me. I - I mean, I can draw, sure. Been doing it for years." Kirby said, making Alex glance over at the wall, seeing many different drawings Kirby made, all of which are comic book level great. "But it's this crystal. It supplies the magic."

He held up the pencil with the crystal attached to it.

"Crystals. It had to be crystals." Donnie mopped as Alex sighed.

"What do you mean?" Kirby asked, perplexed by their reactions.

"Let's just say we had run-ins with magic crystals a week ago." Alex answered, referring to that whole incident in the underground city.

"You two should really try this." Kirby insisted, going over to his sketchbook. "Here, let me find you a couple of clean pages."

"Say, doesn't my appearance freak you out a little?" Donnie asked as Kirby searched through his sketchbook.

"Yeah, usually, people flip out and run away," Alex said.

"Guys, since my sketches started leaping off the page, I've seen freakier, believe me." Kirby replied before turning to them and holding his hand out. "By the way, my friends call me Kirby."

"You can call me Don or Donnie." Donnie said as he shook hands with him.

"Alex." Alex said when he shook hands with Kirby. "So, how did you find the crystal?"

"I found it in a pile of coal, in all places. And accidentally discovered what it could do." Kirby replied. "Here, draw something."

He handed the pencil to Alex, who then sat down in front of the sketchbook.

"This is just insane." He smirked as he started drawing up a cartoonish bird, as that's the only thing he can draw. The crystal also started glowing.

"Nice bird." Kirby complimented.

"Thanks. Mind you, that's all I can draw." Alex replied just as he finished adding an eye.

The drawing then came to life, first by being all white and then it leapt out of the page, flying around the room.

"Whoa!" Alex and Donnie gasped in awe as it started doing barrel rolls and swerved around various objects.

"So cool." Alex muttered with a smirk as they all watched it then fly out of the room.

"Your turn, Donnie." He then said, standing up and handing the pencil to his turtle brother as he sat.

"I'm starting to wonder if there's some sort of biomolecular energy transfer involved." Donnie said as he looked at the crystal.

"Don, just draw something." Kirby insisted.

"You'll have to excuse him, he sometimes can't help but be curious." Alex told Kirby.

"Okay." Donnie chuckled before he started drawing. "But I'm afraid a stick person is the best I can do."

"Aw, don't worry. It takes a few years of practice before you can really have fun." Kirby said understandingly as he placed a hand on Donnie's shoulder while Donnie was nearly done with his stick figure. "Not a bad stick guy, though."

"There. Finished." Donnie said just as he finished its left hand.

The stick figure then leapt out of the page, chirping.

"Whoa." Donnie gasped as the three watched it land all the way over at the bed before jumping onto a cabinet, where it kicked a spray can to the floor.

"This is too wild!" Donnie chuckled.

"Told ya!" Kirby chuckled back just as the stick figure jumped onto the floor, when it ran over to Donnie and kicked his ankle.

"Yow!" Donnie yelped, grabbing his right leg and hopping on his left, which got kicked. "Ow! Hey, now cut that out!"

He pulled his staff out, ready to whack the stick figure, but as it took some steps back, it just disappeared.

"It disappeared like the rest." Alex said, perplexed.

"They all do. Everything I draw comes to life and then they just vanish. One exception, though." Kirby explained.

"How so?" Alex asked.

"A thing I drew a couple of weeks ago. It didn't go away." Kirby replied, walking over to an object covered by a bedsheet. He removed it and showed what looked like a mechanical doorway that led to some portal. "Can't rightly tell you what it is."

"Looks like a weird kind of doorway." Donnie said.

"No doubt with a portal leading to wherever it goes." Alex added.

Donnie ended up putting his hand through the portal, making him gasp before he pulled his hand back out.

"Incredible." He admitted.

"Hey, be careful!" Kirby warned, making Donnie turn to him and Alex.

"He's right. You don't know what's on the other side." Alex cautioned him.

With that, Donnie walked through the portal, which did leave Alex and Kirby concerned.

"Uh… Don!" Kirby called out.

"Donnie!" Alex cried out, worried for his brother. "Can you hear us?"

Donnie ended up popping out of the portal.

"Guys, you're not gonna believe this! You've gotta see what's on the other side of this thing!" He told them, sounding amazed.

"Uh, what the heck?" Kirby said, placing his pencil behind his ear and grabbed his sketchbook. "Let me just grab my sketchbook."

Donnie then backed into the portal.

"Banzai!" Alex cried out as he dived right into the portal.

"Geronimo!" Kirby cried out, jumping in after him.

They fell through the other side of the portal, Alex landing on his feet while Donnie caught Kirby in his arms.

"Gotcha!" Donnie said before putting Kirby on his feet. "That last step's a doozy, huh?"

"Something like that." Alex retorted as he stood properly.

"Good catch, Don. Thanks." Kirby said.

"No prob, Kirby. One question, though, what is this place?" Donnie asked.

They all looked around and found themselves in some kind of dimension, one where the sky is full of nebulas, planets and moons with a red sun and a shooting star zooming across the sky.

And nearby was a city that hovered in midair, a bridge connecting it to the ground.

"This place looks like it's right out of a comic book. Like the New Gods." Alex said in pure awe.

"It's incredible." Donnie agreed with him.

"And it all looks familiar, too familiar." Kirby admitted.

"Why is that?" Alex asked.

"Look." Kirby said, opening his sketchbook, revealing sketches of the very dimension they're in right now. "I drew it. I drew it all." He then showed drawings of various monsters.

Alex and Donnie heard growling from nearby and looked to see a green furry monster with a white club, walking on a nearby hillside.

"Kirby, check out that weirdo." Donnie said, pointing at it.

"Is that a monster from your sketchbook?" Alex then asked Kirby, who flicked through his sketchbook, finding a page with a drawing of the same monster.

"It is. I remember drawing that one." Kirby replied.

"It's ignoring us." Donnie noticed as the monster walked away from them.

"I wonder what got its attention." Alex pondered.

"Come on!" Kirby said and the three of them ran after the monster, going up the hill, where they gasped, seeing a whole bunch of monsters charging towards the floating city.

"Looks like someone's in store for a monster sized beat down." Donnie gulped.

At the foot of the bridge connecting to the city, there was a group of warriors, ready to defend their city.

One clad in blue and red carried a shield, one that reminded Alex of a viking wielding two metal clubs, one that resembled a barbarian wielding a hammer and the fourth that wore a horned helmet had a metal rod.

"Brace yourselves!" The viking looking warrior warned the others.

"Those creatures are gonna rip those guys apart!" Kirby realised.

The warrior with the hammer knocked back three of the monsters with one swing before one of them jumped on top of him, but the warrior with the rod kicked it off him.

The warrior with the shield approached the green monster with the club, which it swung down, being blocked by the shield and getting knocked back by it. The warrior then tried to aid the others, but another monster came at him from the side and he blocked its punches with his shield and then back flipped away when it slammed its fist where he stood a moment ago.

The viking looking warrior was being held by another green monster, its hand around his throat, before whacking him away and roared.

He and the warrior with the shield got knocked back at the foot of the bridge where the hammer warrior charged.

"You shall not pass!" He declared before throwing the hammer at a yellow skinned monster, which punched the hammer, causing a blue fiery explosion that made Alex, Donnie and Kirby shield their eyes until it stopped.

They opened their eyes to see that the yellow skinned monster stood around its fellow monsters and the hammer warrior, who were all knocked out, before it fell unconscious.

The monsters that stood roared before starting to attack once more.

"We gotta do something!" Kirby said.

"Stay here. We're on it." Donnie told him as he and Alex wielded their weapons and charged at the monsters.

The four warriors groaned as they lay by the foot of the bridge.

"Incoming!" Alex shouted, getting the attention of the monsters, making them turn to see him and Donnie in the air and strike them down with their weapons within seconds, all laying on the ground around the pair when they landed.

A clawed monster tried hitting Donnie, but he dodged it and punched it away as Alex sliced his katana at a grey skinned monster in its face, making it roar in pain before Alex kicked its face, knocking it out.

The pair then took down a green monster when Alex swept it off its feet with a kick and Donnie slammed his bo staff onto its chest, slamming it to the ground.

They then knocked away a couple more monsters, which was noticed by the viking looking warrior.

"What new warriors are these?" He asked as his comrades stood with him.

Donnie swept a couple of clawed monsters off their feet while Alex charged and slid among several monsters' legs, slicing them before knocking them out with a series of kicks and punches.

Donnie then threw a monster that charged behind him over his shoulder with his staff.

Alex then tackled a yellow skinned monster to the ground, kicking its head to knock it out and then flip over to the warriors as Donnie did after pole vaulting towards them, kicking two other monsters in the head at the same time.

Being inspired by them, the warriors decided to help take down the rest of the monsters.

"To arms!" The hammer wielding warrior yelled and they all ran past Alex and Donnie, who yelled as well and joined them.

Their collective might launched all of the remaining monsters back, knocking them out and the six of them cheered as some strays ran away.

"Ha-ha!" Kirby chuckled as he ran to Alex and Donnie.

"We came, we saw, we kicked monster butt!" The pair chanted before high threeing/fiving.

"Wow, guys, you've got some moves." Kirby said, very impressed, as Alex and Donnie put away their weapons. "I've never seen anything like that. Except maybe in the comics."

"Hail to you, strangers." The viking warrior greeted them.

"Hail, warriors." Alex greeted back with a bow.

"You are welcome here." The warrior told them. "We few are all that stand against the darkness. The creatures which you helped us defeat. We owe you our gratitude. But we must prepare. They will return."

"Then we'll be ready. The two of us have faced large numbers before." Alex said.

"They will be back in greater numbers. More than we can possibly defend against." The warrior replied. "And when they come in force, we may lose the bridge, and with it, our city."

Within the city itself, there were people living their lives with happiness and contentment. A young child was playing catch with their mother before hugging each other while another was trying to catch a frisbee.

"I cannot bear to think of the dark powers destroying our wondrous city. Our loved ones, our families." The warrior continued. "Those monsters, they will destroy everything."

"We won't let that happen." Donnie promised.

"If there's innocents being threatened, we'll help." Alex swore.

"We'll do whatever we can to stop them." Kirby assured.

"Sire, here they come! Thousands of them!" The warrior with the hammer yelled, pointed ahead of him, making the three turn to see a much larger army of monsters charging their way to the city, making them gasp.

"We must defend the entrance to the bridge!" The viking warrior told everyone. "Even if it costs us our lives!"

Alex and Donnie jumped in front of the warriors, twirling their weapons as they entered fighting poses.

"Let's do it!" Donnie declared as the monsters continued charging towards the city.

"Seriously, Kirby, you drew all of these monsters?" Alex asked.

"Yeah, I have a habit of drawing a lot." Kirby said sheepishly.

"Did you have to be so prolific?" Donnie asked.

"Yeah, couldn't you have drawn more good guys than bad?" Alex nodded.

"Heck, how was I supposed to know they'd all come alive and attack us?" Kirby pointed out as the monsters came closer and closer.

"We must not let them across the bridge!" The viking warrior reminded everyone of their objective.

He and Alex shared a glance before everyone, except for Kirby, charged at the monsters.

Three of the monsters leapt at them, one of them being punched in the face by the shield wielding warrior, a green one got whacked in the head by the warrior with the horned helmet, Alex slashed a clawed monster in the chest with his katana before kicking them and backflipping off their chest and Donnie whacked another clawed monster away with his staff. Alex then rolled over his shell and kicked a green monster's chest when it charged at his turtle brother and then Donnie rolled over his back and then spun on his stall like it was a pole and kicked a clawed monster away.

The viking warrior connected his clubs together to form a lance and blocked a green monster's club before it tackled him to the ground.

The horned helmet warrior jumped and kicked a white monster away as the viking warrior got back up and knocked the green monster off its feet.

Alex performed a handspring and kicked a yellow skinned monster away as Donnie whacked yet another clawed monster away.

Kirby watched the fighting before opening his sketchbook, ducking his head to avoid a pipe that was thrown his way, looking at the sketch he made of the shield wielding warrior, who was knocked away from a yellow skinned monster that punched the ground.

Donnie pole vaulted over a green monster that charged at him and tripped a white one before blocking the green monster's club, allowing Alex to kick it's back, launching it over Donnie and into an approaching white monster.

However, the two didn't pick up on a green monster coming in from behind them and whacked them so hard that they went flying, landing right in front of Kirby.

"Ow, that hurt." Alex hissed in pain while he and Donnie got on their hands and knees.

"Guys, you okay?" Kirby asked concerningly.

"Well, we could use a little help." Donnie replied as he held his hand out for Kirby, who pulled him up to his feet while Alex got up on his own.

The three then heard monsters roaring nearby and turned to see three of them charging at them.

"There's just too many of them!" Alex growled before he and Donnie dived in and got back in the fight.

Meanwhile, Kirby was thinking until an idea came to him that might even the odds.

"Hey, I got an idea." He muttered as he started drawing both Alex and Donnie on a clean page in his sketchbook.

Donnie rolled backwards and kicked a green monster away while Alex leapt and kicked a white monster in the chest, the two throwing kicks at a yellow skinned monster that came at them from behind.

"It just might work." Kirby said as he finished drawing most of Donnie and just finished Alex's legs before focusing on Donnie's right arm and Alex's left arm.

Donnie spun his staff over his head before whacking a couple of monsters that charged at him and Alex swept another off their feet and the two kicked a clawed monster that ran at them.

They then went back to shell as they whacked, slashed and struck more monsters that charged at them.

Kirby had just finished drawing Alex's left arm and Donnie's right arm in his sketchbook, both with weapons on them.

This caused their arms to glow before such weapons formed their arms, surprising them.

"What the shell?" Donnie spoke for both of them.

"I call it a gravity equaliser!" Kirby told Donnie. "It cancels the gravity equation! I just made it up!"

"I like it!" Donnie grinned as he put his staff away.

"And mine?" Alex asked.

"Yours is a foam distributor! It shoots out foam that hardens to the point that nothing can escape it!" Kirby explained.

"Sick!" Alex grinned as well.

The two then faced some monsters that charged at them and Donnie fired his weapon at a couple of them, making them lift off the ground.

Alex fired his at several of them, foam shooting out and hitting them in the chest, spreading throughout their bodies until they were completely encased, which is when the foam hardened and the monsters tipped over onto their backs or chests.

"Ha!" They chuckled until they saw more monsters charging at them.

"Time to eat negative gravity and hard foam, you punks!" Alex shouted before he and Donnie fired their weapons, making monsters either float off the ground or be encased in hard foam.

They even dealt with a pair of monsters that were overwhelming the warrior with the shield.

"The gravity equaliser and the foam distributor." Donnie said after blowing smoke from his weapon.

"Don't leave home without them." Alex replied.

They then saw a pair of white monsters charging at them and fired their weapons, but they short circuited and stopped working.'

"Oh crud." Alex muttered worriedly before they dodged the monsters by stepping aside and knocked them out by punching them with their weapons, Donnie's in the face, Alex's in the stomach.

"They make good clubs, anyway." Donnie reasoned.

But the pair noticed that the warriors were starting to get overwhelmed as a few of the monsters managed to break through and run for the city while hundreds more were charging in for battle.

"Kirby, don't want to rush ya, but they're still coming!" Alex said, sounding tense, looking at Kirby, who was in the middle of drawing something.

"Add a size reference for scale. Finish it up with a few details and voila!" Kirby muttered to himself as something was appearing around him, Alex and Donnie.

That thing happened to be a large yellow battle vehicle with tentacles and a large mouth. The three were standing on its balcony.

"WHOA!" Alex gasped.

"Unbelievable!" Donnie gasped as well as a green monster whacked one of the vehicle's legs with a club. "And what do you call this one?"

"It's kind of a mobile creep trapper. It's supposed to respond to my brainwaves, see?" Kirby replied.

One of the tentacles reached down and grabbed some monsters that swarmed the vehicle and dropped them into the vehicle's mouth.

"Looks like it's time to commence with Operation Clean-Up." Donnie said as he and Alex threw their weapons away.

"Definitely." Alex agreed as more monsters got dropped into the vehicle's mouth. "While you do your thing, Kirby, me and Donnie will do ours."

They jumped down onto one of the tentacles and jumped off that and onto four monsters, knocking them down by slamming them onto the ground with their feet.

"The creatures have broken through!" The viking warrior informed them, pointing at said monsters that were now running up the bridge. "We must stop them!"

"HEY! GET BACK HERE, YOU DISHONOURABLE CREEPS!" Alex roared at the monsters as he and Donnie ran towards them. "YOU SCARED OF US?"

That managed to get the attention of some of the monsters, as they turned and ran towards the pair, three of them tackling Donnie to the ground and two of them grabbing Alex before he could maintain distance, pinning him to the ground.

The viking warrior knocked away a white monster with his clubs but then got piled on by some monsters. The hammer warrior punched a monster away before getting hit in the back by a green monster and the warrior with the horned helmet hit a monster away before getting tackled by numerous monsters all at once.

"It's no good! There's too many of them!" Donnie bellowed out as a monster grabbed his face.

"KIRBY, DO SOMETHING!" Alex yelled as his arms and legs were spread out by the monsters pinning him down.

The shield warrior kicked a monster away but got tackled by a couple of others.

"What to do? What to do? Wait!" Kirby muttered to himself, realising something as he opened his sketchbook. "If all these goons are in this sketchbook, then…"

Both Alex and Donnie groaned, trying to break free from the monsters that held them down, but they were just too strong.

"Yes! Yes, I have it!" Kirby then said as he started drawing.

As he did so, the monsters that broke through kept running up the bridge until they were close to the city, within view of the people living there. A mother grabbed her little girl and started running away.

Kirby started drawing over the white monster in his sketchbook.

"Come on!" He muttered tensely.

The woman kept running until she ended up tripping and fell. She and her daughter gasped as they watched the monsters as they entered the city.

Kirby gritted his teeth as he kept drawing as fast as he could.

The mother and daughter closed their eyes, ready to be attacked by a yellow skinned monster approaching them.

But then all of the monsters started having cuffs, chains, braces and other objects encased around them, keeping them from attacking and immobilising them.

"What the…?" Alex gasped as he and Donnie got up and saw that all of the monsters were all immobilised and encased,

"Huzzah!" The warriors all cheered. "Huzzah!"

"Thank you, mighty sorcerer." The viking warrior thanked Kirby. "You are welcome in our land and our homes any time."

"Gee, thanks." Kirby grinned with a thumbs up before climbing down a ladder on his vehicle.

"Kirby, you truly are the king." Alex grinned as he and Donnine walked up to him.

"How did you do that?" Donnie asked in amazement.

"As fast as I could." Kirby replied, showing the drawings of the various monsters, which all got entrapped and encased, which made the three of them laugh.

"Come on. We should go home." Donnie then said and they all headed towards the portal that took them to this dimension.

"Yeah, I guess you're right." Kirby replied as they kept walking. "Though I gotta say, I really wish we had more time to explore this place. I mean, it's incredible."

"I know, but we can do that another day." Alex assured him. "Right now, I'm in the mood for some chow."

"Same here, I'm starving." Donnie agreed with him as he and Alex wrapped arms around Kirby.

"As long as you're buying." Kirby replied.

But their good mood ended when they saw that the portal was starting to shrink, meaning it's gonna close.

"Oh, no! The portal's closing!" Alex expressed their concerns as they ran up to it.

"You two go first!" Kirby told him and Donnie.

"But -"

"Don't argue! There's no time! Just go!" Kirby cut Donnie off, insisting.

"Okay, but once we're in, we'll pull you through!" Donnie promised.

Alex jumped through first, finding himself back in the basement apartment. But when Donnie jumped through, the portal was so small that he got stuck.

"DONNIE!" Alex shouted as he grabbed his arms to try and pull him out.

"I'm stuck!" Donnie groaned.

"Hang on, Don!" Kirby said as he dropped his sketchbook and pushed Donnie's feet.

With Alex and Kirby's combined efforts, Donnie made it through the portal, but the two brothers gasped when they saw that the portal was too small for Kirby to get through.

"NO, KIRBY!" Alex cried out as they fell to their knees.

"KIRBY!" Donnie then cried just before the portal vanished.

But just as it did, a paper plane flew into the room, circling for a bit until it landed between them.

"What?" Donnie gasped as he opened it to see that it was the drawing Kirby made of him and Alex with their weapons, along with a message written by him.

This made them close their eyes and hug each other, knowing that they'll never see their new friend again before turning to his drawing desk.

Raph, still with the towel wrapped around his waist, walked towards the stairs that led downstairs, finding both Alex and Donnie walking up.

"So what's the skinny? You two have been gone for ages. We got hot water or what?" He asked them as they walked past him, grabbing Alex's shoulder.

"Let go." Alex snarled as he and Donnie gave him such severe glares that Raph instantly let go and stepped back in shock while the pair walked to the apartment.

"Sheesh, what's eating them?" Raph wondered just as they entered.

Alex and Donnie walked over to the windows, looking out through one of them as Donnie pulled out KIrby's message from his belt, the two looking at it once more.

Don and Alex - "Life at best is bittersweet"

Take care of yourselves - Kirby

They sighed as they looked up at the sky, knowing that Kirby would be alright in the dimension of his own creation.

Considering that this episode has two different endings, I used the one that was on the episode on Paramount+ in the UK.
