Next chapter, and it's Akame Ga Kill. Back then Akame was my favorite. Now...I couldn't care less. Although I will still try hard to show off her development to make her a lot more of a realized character. Something the manga has gotten rid of by the second half of the story. So this is still after the anime, but elements of the manga should show up here or there. But don't expect it to show up a lot. At least not until the next stories. So with that said, enjoy.
A lone black cloaked figure walks alone in a wasteland full of sand. The figure reveals a face with a scar over her cheek and red blood eyes, along with black hair. She lived a tiring life, but yet she still moves forward. Although she stops once she notices something on the horizon. Men in all shapes and sizes. With weapons on their backs or wielding them. The dark cloaked girl also senses that she is being surrounded. Weapons like axes, swords, scythes, or even multiple ridiculously large spears all together. They wear all kinds of clothes from other nations or clans. All for her. To kill her.
She has been on this long battle for all her life. Trained to kill all kinds of people. Innocent people. Warriors. Truly evil scum. She fought wars that took billions of lives, with her as a survivor of one of the most notorious band of killers, Night Raid. Their hopes are all on her now. She readies the red hilt of her katana Murasume, and raises her head, ready to do battle. Before they can formulate a plan, she leaps upward, her cloak thrown away, revealing her whole self. A young woman around 17 to 19 with long black hair that goes down to her legs, in a black dress with a belt keeping it all together, and a red tie. Crimson gauntlets, black shoes with black stockings, her well toned skin, filled with marks on her bare shoulders and thigh's. Her left cheek also revealing a marking as well. She unsheathes her blade and dives down. "Eliminate!" A phrase she used for all her life, and continues to do so.
She strikes one of them down. The other, one seemingly the biggest one tries to pummel her, it didn't take long before he falls with one stroke of her cursed blade. Murasume can kill anyone in one cut. The other bandits try to jump on her at the same time with blades in hand. They two haven't take into account of her inhuman speed. By the time she sped out of their way, she already nicked each of them with her sword. Each of them fall one by one. Adding more to her humungous kill count. They were all confident. Cocky. Unprepared. It was plain to see. She wondered if everyone is beginning to underestimate her legend. It has been months since the war was over. She assume so. She lost track of time since her exile. Eventually all of them were laying dead, she sees that she sprayed the whole land in blood. However, one was playing dead and jumps behind her for one last attempt, only for her to stab him through the heart. He slowly dies on her blade, as black writings comes out of his wound. "Damn you...Ak...ameeeee..."
The one called Akame wipes her sword off of the fresh blood. After looking at the multiple dead bodies one last time, she continues her walk. It would take many days until she finally reaches a cave for her to stay in and rest up. She already ate her fair share of meat and her fire is warm enough for her to survive the cold night. She was used to the wild. Ever since she was a little girl. She had to. Otherwise she never would have been here. She never would have survived half the things she went through. Her consciousness begins to slip as she slumbers. It wouldn't take long until she hears someone.
"Hey Akame. How's your sleep?" The red eyed assassin's eyes opens once she hears this all too familiar voice. A boy in brown spiky hair and innocent green eyes with a pale yellow sweater and jeans.
Akame's eyes widen in shock. "It...can't be..." This boy...shouldn't be here. She say him...
"Hey, did you cooked for us?" The boy continues. Then points behind him. "We're starving."
A small grown girl in pink pigtails and a pink dress speaks up. "Yeah, you make the best food Akame. If you're not eating it that is." She sways her hair.
Just then a guy with green short hair, wearing goggles appears as well. Wearing a white t-shirt with a green jacket and jeans. "You really know how to feed us!"
A busty blonde in a black bra, loose white pants, combat boots, and a scarf laughs. "Ha ha ha! Still not a better drinker like me!"
Akame begins to back away in fear. "No...this isn't real...you guys..." Her mind begins to distort, seeing her friends again.
Then she looks to see a tall girl in long lavender hair and a violet qipao dress, with square glasses. Akame begins to grit her teeth, and her eyes widen. Her of all people is beginning to make her lose it. "What's the matter Akame?" She said with warm worry.
Behind her is a burly man with jet black gelled hair and a spiked up leather jacket. "You look like you seen ghosts." He said with confidence and a fun tone.
And next to him, a young woman in pale skin, red eyes, long auburn hair, a black vest over a white long sleeved shirt, and a checkered red dress, plus boots. "She is. We're all dead. She knows that." That last one sounded a bit bitter.
And next to her, a tall rugged man in spiky blue hair, white robe clothing with a bright red core on his chest. "That's right. You are the last of us..." He said with the usual seriousness she knew him. But perhaps a lot more serious than usual.
The brown haired young man walks up to her, causing Akame to trip down on her behind. "You killed hundreds, thousands of the Imperial lackeys...yet you couldn't prevent our deaths..."
"Maybe you were just too weak..." The pink haired girl states harshly.
The auburn haired girl adds on. "She was born to kill after all. She couldn't protect anyone...not even her own friends..."
Their words strikes at her heart more and more. "No...I..."
"You left me to die sis..." Akame gasps. She slowly turns around to see a smaller girl in black short hair, and similar looking dress to Akame. "You killed me...stabbed me with your sword...remember?" Akame's face shows so much regret, pain, sadness, fear, and confusion. Her past is beginning to manifest around her. She thought she gotten over it, but her fears. Her anxiety. It suddenly becomes too much for her. "You left me...left all of us!" Her little sister is now joined with a girl in long hair, wearing a white shirt and black pants. The other a guy with brown short hair, a skinny young man in black hair and glasses, a girl with a large chest, white and brown clothing, and light brown hair.
"Why must you leave us to die Akame? "I thought you loved us?" "We thought you we were family!" "You killed our father!"
Everyone's voices begin to merge, as Akame is now surrounded by every dead person she ever knew. Her friends. Her family. Everyone she ever cared about. They all turn bloody and their voices begin to sync together. "WHY ARE WE DEAD AKAME?! WHY DID YOU LET US DIIIIIIIEEEEEEE?! AAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" They all scream, deafening Akame's hearing. They all morph into a beast full of blood, guts, and piles of flesh.
Having enough, Akame grabs her sword. "AAAAAAAAAAH!" She screams out as she slashes the monster in front of her. It's blood splatters all over the cave, as it falls down dead. Akame notices that her curse didn't register. No markings coming out of the wound. Not that it matters, its dead. She breathed heavily, but relieved that she can have some peace and quiet. Just then it starts moving. She grips her sword, ready to slice it into little pieces this time. But it is not getting up. It only convulses until a pale comes out of it. It looks like the little girl in the short black hair. "...feels good..." Her face falls on the flesh she came from. She arches her lower body so her face is off of the flesh, but not revealing her face yet. "...isn't that..." It then struggles to get up, until it finally does. Revealing..."...right?" Her face, with pure red scars on her left cheek.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" Akame suddenly finds herself back in the cave, the fire still there. Her food still eaten. But no monster there. No blood. Nothing. She was alone the whole time. It was just a dream. Heavily breathing, Akame wonders to herself on what she just witnessed. Ever since the dreaded Revolutionary War ended, she didn't have any intense nightmares. Sure, she remembered her fallen comrades. But that nightmare almost gave her a heart attack. For the longest time, Akame never felt this much fear. And even if its over, one emotion didn't left her. Guilt. All these friends she made through the war, all of them she failed. She wondered...if she should join them in the afterlife. What does this new peaceful era have for a killer like her?
Just then she hears something from afar. The trees are rustling. Eventually though, they are beginning to get cut down and thrown out. There is only one explanation for this. "Danger Beasts!" She quickly grabs her sword and follows it. All of her stray thoughts of guilt and despair is thrown out for her next target. She will eliminate any beasts that would threaten the peace. No matter who they are. Whether she's alone or not.
Deep on the forest, a pair of sapphire blue eyes frantically open. A young man in blonde short hair, black hoodie and jeans, with armor over said hoodie sits up, breathing heavily. He looks around his environment. Last time he and his team was camping on the forest. And the place they are is a forest. But...something isn't right...
"Goooooood MORNING!"
"AH!" The blonde one was spooked by a ginger haired girl around his age. Her teal eyes are as wide as her enthusiasm. Sporting a white sleeveless shirt with a heart shape in the middle of her chest, pink dress, and white shoes with pink underneath. "Nora?!"
"Yep Jaune! That's my name! What are you doing early?" Nora happily said.
"There goes my peace and quiet..." The two overhears another of their friends still laying down. Sporting a green tailcoat, with white pants and black shoes. Black hair short hair with a single magenta streak on his left side. He gets up to look around. "Where did our camp go?"
Jaune is more focused on the trees. They look...different. Feel different. He isn't sure how to put it in words. Just then he realizes something.
Nora gasps. "Wait...did bears steal them?! Oh man! I should have known! We have to steal their honey as a form of trade!"
Ren despite spending most of his life with Nora is often surprised by her antics. "What?"
"Guys...where's Ruby?!" Jaune lets out his thoughts. The other two look around, seeing any sign of their friend, and then themselves. Their eyes widen. Jaune is beginning to fear for the worst. "Th-There is no way Ruby would abandon us...right? Something must have happened to her... but I-But I..."
Ren places his hand on his shoulder. "Jaune calm down. We mustn't give in to despair. The Grimm will be attracted by it."
The blonde tries to calm down. "I'm trying but..." Another realization. "Are we sure the Grimm are even in this area?"
Nora looks around with her hands on her forehand to shadow her eyes to see more clearly. "Hm...I see nothing wrong."
The dark haired one looks at the trees and sees what Jaune is seeing. "This...isn't the same forest we were in last night..."
"Are you sure? Forests do kinda look the same. Except for Forever Forest." Recalling the vibrantly red forest back in Vale.
Jaune then heard something from a distance. "Guys?" It sounded big. Very big. "What was..." He nervously turns around and looks up to see a huge ball of metal falling their way. Is that a-?!" Before he can finish, a giant ball of metal, with appendages for legs falls down to the ground, creating a crater below, blowing the three head reveals itself, being only tiny in comparison of its huge mass. The three get blown away by the machine crashing towards the ground they were standing on.
"Ow..." Jaune holds onto his head in pain. Ren would look up to see what they are up against. "Jaune...that is defiantly not a Grimm..." The mechanical menace towers them all thanks to its long appendages helping it stand. That and its whole mass trumps all threes own masses.
"Run!" Jaune panickily orders as he and his friends avoids one of the robots almost crushes them with its metallic hands. The robot goes on all fours and begins to crawl its way to reach the trio, destroying every tree in its way, along with cracking the ground with each step. "What the hell is going on?!"
Nora catches up to him. "I'll tell you! That giant robot wants to kill us!"
Ren also runs next to him. "Do you have a plan?" He tries to stay calm unlike his friends.
The blonde tries to think, but put under a stressful situation, he is unable to. When things are looking bleak for him, Jaune then notices someone flying on top of them. It looked that way, as everything slows down in Jaune's point of view. He sees what looks like a girl just about their age, if not a little older, looking fearless and undeterred. Her eyes looks determined and unflinching. She then quickly kicks the robot, causing it to stop on its tracks, and breaking the ground as it's momentum was suddenly halted. "What?!" Jaune wasn't able to properly react to what he just saw. But snaps out of it once this black haired mystery jumped back and in front of them. "Huh?"
Akame stands up, seeing her enemy. Looking at this thing, its clearly all mechanical. "That wasn't a Danger Beast...what is it?" She seen mechanical creations before. Although this design is puzzling to her.
Nora and Ren stops to see what happened. "Who was that?"
"A Huntress?" Ren guesses.
The dark clothed girl stands tall, looking towards the unhinged machine trying to recover from that huge kick it received. It lets out a distorted roar as it raises its clawed hands and swings it down. Akame quickly jumps back. The robot begins to spark up. Clearly malfunctioning. Suddenly, diamond shaped shapes lights all around it. Akame inspects it and notices what looks like a small opening. A little circle with a symbol. It doesn't look as tough as the rest of the framing. "That should be its weakness!" She rushes in to stab it, only for the same light constructs to bounce her blade off, stunning her. "Wha-?!" She was clearly baffled. What even happened? What hit her?
Once its about to strike her while she was stunned, Jaune grabs her and pulls her out of the way. Akame was startled, looking behind her to see the blonde she just saved. "Are you okay?!" Jaune asks in a panic. Before Akame could respond, the machine rises up, and begins to unleash two saws from each of its sides. "Oh no!" Jaune and Akame quickly rolls out of the way, as the saws smashes the ground even more. The former assassins eagle eyes also noticed its behavior. It's sporadic. Chaotic.
Nora then presses a button on her cannon and it transforms into a mechanical hammer, much to Akame's surprise. She rarely sees weapons like these. "Heeeeeeere's Nora!" She shouts out as she rushes to the death machine. Just then buzzsaws comes out of the sphere machine to cut open the rushing ginger. Suddenly, Ren would parry both of them to clear the way for his partner. With a shout, Nora leaps up and puts all of her power to swing down her hammer towards the seemingly defenseless robot, only to strike blue light shielding the blow. "Uh-ugh-guh-gu-gu-gu-gu-gu-gu-gu-ah-ah-ah-ah!" Nora feels all of her body vibrate violently.
The machine towers over the stunned Nora. "Nora look out!" Jaune shouts in fear.
Luckily, a black blur moved her out of the way in time before she was crushed. Akame lets Nora go and tries to slash at it again, only to be blocked by the energy shield. Unable to fathom what is even blocking her attacks. Ren starts shooting from behind, only for the bullets to bounce off the energy shield. Jaune begins to notice that no matter how many times they try to hit it, some force stops their attacks before it hits it. He sees everyone on the defensive. Akame jumping back as the saws follow her around, Nora shooting her transformed hammer to cannon, while Ren slashes at the robots metal frame after hitting the energy shield, knowing it only defends once before allowing them to hit it, which they still have to worry about the metal frame.
Then something sparks on Jaune's head. "I got it! Ren! You get its attention! Sword girl! Help Ren out! Nora! Go for its legs!" Everyone else overhears.
Nora grips her weapon as her cannon morphs back into a hammer. "Got it!" Akame paused, being reminded of her old days. Being a part of a team. Been awhile since she was ordered in a mission. However, she doesn't dwell on it and begins to jump upward to take a swing at the robot, taking its full attention. Only to sense Ren attacking it from behind.
Akame lands on her feet. "Keep moving while you hit it!" She warns Ren. He nods as both of them runs around it. She sees its saw coming at her, she slides down to avoid it, keeping up her speed. She notices Ren shooting his pistols and also keeping in mind the large blades on the guns. Not something she sees everyday, but it shows her how skilled this guy is. Akame notices more buzzsaws coming at her. This time she leaps upward and as everything slows down around her, she quickly grips her hilt, and takes her strongest swing with her sword. She sliced pure ice before, so metal shouldn't be a problem. Especially its thin appendage compared to the rest of its big body. As it seems to be only shielding its big body, not the saws. A perfect slice. It's been disarmed. Just as it begins to realize its arms were cut off, its other appendages planted on the ground were attacked.
Nora swung her hammer on them. Only to see that it wasn't enough. Without any buzzsaws, the robot quickly adapts to throwing its own weight to crush Nora. Which she quickly jumps back. "That didn't work..." She mutters to herself. But just as it turns around to strike back at an attacking Akame, she notices something. There's a small outlet. This gives Nora an idea that causes her to snicker.
Ren fires his guns to get its attention, only to notice Nora hugs her whole body on the robots back. "Nora! What are you doing?!"
The ginger then replies to her dark haired friend. "Hey Ren! Remember this when we were kids?!" Just then, she sticks her tongue out.
And with that, Ren's eyes widen in horror. "Oh no..."
Without hesitating, Nora puts her tongue inside the socket with enough saliva to charge the sparks on this robot, eventually electrocuting her body, down to her inner body. With the sudden jolt of high electricity, Nora gets blown away and sent flying to a rocky wall. Akame gasps in shock. "I couldn't believe she would do that! Kill herself like that!" Death was normal for her, but this suicidal display baffled even her. Just then though, something would baffle her even more.
"Ooooooooooooh YEAH!" Nora rises up faster than any of them could comprehend. Now full of sparks all over her body. With that, her speed has increased, as an instant happened, and she already smacked the machine with her hammer. It's light based shields being weakened by her pure surge of energy overpowering it.
In her many years of battle, Akame hasn't seen anything that could truly shock her in a long time. This one is truly baffling. "How the...No normal person would survive that!"
Jaune walks in, noticing Akame's surprise. "Yeah..." Proceeding to rub his head, used to Nora's abnormality at this point. "That's the thing. Nora is anything but normal."
In a bizarre shift, the death machine begins to try and stay away from Nora as her surging energy begins to overpower it. It tries one more time to stab her with its last appendages. She jumps, and with a howl, she dives down and smashes her hammer through them. It falls, helpless. Then from the sky, Akame dives down and stabs through its small weakness with her sword. "Eliminate..." She mutters. As much as this is an artificial life, she notices the light of its eyes still dim down and eventually turn off. It is nowhere near like seeing an actual human being, but killing so many people, it makes her consider comparing.
The dark haired martial artist would rush into his ginger friend. "Nora! Are you okay?"
He notices the sparking energy fade out of her. "Yea. Jut fin." Her tongue sticking out of her mouth limp. "I jut can fee muh ton." She looks down on her tongue and starts moving her head, as the limp tongue also moves along with her head.
She keeps doing it for awhile. "Okay you can stop." Ren dryly said.
Akame pulls out her sword, with what she can only describe as its metal heart still on her sword. She notices a strange looking symbol on it. It was glowing green while it was still functioning. She leaps down and next to the startled blonde. "Do you know of this symbol?"
She shows Jaune the metal sphere. He recovers the sudden appearance of this mysterious person and checks what she is talking about. Her sword was kinda in the way, but he made out what the symbol was. "Wait...that looks..."
Ren walks in to see it too. "That looked like Penny's symbol." They recalled the circle with a line above it as her symbol she was known for. Normally used for something like the power button in mundane things like their remote controls or game controllers. Although thinking about it, it was an omen of things they should have saw coming. When they saw her as really a robot...The memories of that day flashed for the two young men. Akame could tell that they are remembering something grim.
That day where the grown ups secrets ended up hurting him and all his friends. He dares not go any deeper and just spoke his mind. "You don't think...Ironwood made this?"
The raven haired hunter would try to calm his leader down. "I doubt it. That didn't seem like his design." Trying to remind him to think a little more about this situation, as now is not the time to be emotional. "Lets try to focus on our current situation."
The blonde gets what he is saying. Letting out a sigh, he focuses back on Akame. And he can't help but be amazed by her skills. She looked like a pro, yet she seems to only use a simple katana blade. "Well...thank you for helping us. You made it look easy!"
The girl wasn't used to people praising her like this. This boy reminds her of someone from her past. But she shrugged it off. "Um...thank you..." She awkwardly replied. But then gets back to being serious. "So you know about that thing?"
Jaune rubs his head, unsure how to respond. "We're...not so sure. It just came out of the sky and suddenly attacked us."
This didn't sound good for the red eyed girls point of view. "The sky?" This was unlike any machine she has ever seen in her life. The Empire never created anything like it. Now these guys are saying it came from the sky? If she didn't know any better, it would have been mistaken for a strange off shoot of a Danger Beast. But she seen them all. She knows none of them aren't completely mechanical. They must have some kind of organic matter to them. This one is all metal. Which disturbs her the most.
Nora then hops in, startling the battle hardened former assassin. "YAH! We brok tha tee killin toastr!" Her tongue still limp.
Akame then remembers something else baffling. This girl was electrocuted, down to the insides. She doubts even the great Budo would survive that. He was known for his own Imperial Arms Adramelech. The weapon that manipulates electricity in a devastating way. Yet it was a weapon, not a part of his inner body. "How did your friend survive being shocked to that degree? Is it a part of her Imperial Arms?"
The three strangers tilts their heads. "Imperial Arms?" They all said in sync.
Akame wasn't sure what to think of this. These guys doesn't know about the Empire's strongest weapons? They must be travelers from another country. That would explain their colorful clothes. "I'm guessing you are travelers from another country."
"Not really, we're actually from Vale." Jaune responds.
"Vale?" Akame asks. She never heard of Vale.
"Yeah, actually we were on our way to get to Haven Academy in Mistral. But...I think we got lost." Jaune chuckles a bit. "If you know the direction, that would be very nice." As weird as this event was, he can't waste time knowing they have an important mission. He also assume Ruby must have some sort of head start. That's got to be it.
Truth be told, Akame doesn't know what he is talking about. "I do not know this Haven or Mistral."
Jaune jolts in startlement. "Wait...are you kidding? It's like one of the most well known nations." Nora would pop up behind him and shows off their map that shows the nations of Vale, Mistral, Vacuo, and Atlas. "We were on our way there!" Seemingly fully healed.
Akame looks at the map carefully. She then brings out her own map of the continent. "This is where you are now." Hoping to clear things up with them.
Although judging by their reactions, it only confused them more. "What? What is this...Huh?!" Jaune showing the most confusion.
Ren checks it carefully. "Hm...this isn't like any land I seen before."
Nora looks at it herself, and seemingly having her tongue healed quickly. "Oooooh, you drew that yourself?"
Ignoring his more wild partner, Jaune would continue being baffled of this. "Wait...that can't be right. You're messing with us, aren't you?" Being in denial of this, a part of him is beginning to believe her. He isn't sure. Looking at the forest, there is something off about this forest compared to the one they were before they slept.
"I'm not." Akame said it bluntly. If your lost, you can try to rest up in the nearest village. I'm sure the locals can tell you the same thing."
Jaune sighs, feeling there is nothing else he can say. "S-Sure..." He goes along with this, while Akame has to make sure they are at least safe. Despite the peace they are in, you never know when any Danger Beast's are around.
In the nearest village, they already asked their elder, which didn't have an answer they wanted. "Hm...I'm sorry, but I don't knowing anything of this Mistral."
After hours of walking, the disappointment was great for Jaune. "You must be..." He stops himself, remembering something important. "Wait, have you seen a dark haired girl with a bright red hood?"
The elder would hum in thought, only to shrug. "Sorry. No red hooded girl around here."
Jaune can't help but slouch hard. "Oh...I see..."
"It is getting late. I suggest you stay in if you like." The elder offers.
Ren bows to him. "We thank you for the offer."
Nora nods. "Yeah! Beating giant robots can get you pretty tired." Which has the elder raise his brow on the girl.
Jaune and his team enter the village itself and are greeted by the happy locals. Although they don't share their full enthusiasm, having no idea where they are, and where their friend is.
"So what will you do now?" As they walk past the gate, the mysterious swords lady was there, leaning with her arms crossed. If nothing else, she is curious about these strangers. And no doubt they will get themselves hurt with the amount of Danger Beasts around.
"Gah!" The blonde member of JNR would be startled by Akame suddenly there. He never recalled her already being there ahead of them.
Ignoring his bafflement, Akame continued. "Your Mistral is nowhere to be seen in this area. I suggest you go to the Capital. I know someone who could have information."
Jaune was startled by her offer. "Um...thanks? But where is this uh...Capital?"
"Here." Akame shows her a more detailed map of the Capital itself this time.
"Wow..." Jaune and Nora lets out while Ren glares at it. "Look at that..." Jaune was impressed by how big it is, and the many layers of this huge nation full of cities surrounding the large castle like buildings on the center.
"It's almost like Atlas with how big it is." Ren comments. "I don't recall any memory of this place."
Nora hums in thought. "Huh...weird how none of our teachers mentioned this place..." This has Jaune thinking hard on this. How can such a rich and large place just not exist before, and after one nap, it now exists. Did they fell to some new land while they were sleeping? Jaune can't know for sure. It would be like this for the rest of the day, as Team JNR spend time with the locals, trying their food and talking about their own world. With the local children fascinated by Nora and Ren's stories of Beacon. Jaune on the other hand would keep to himself, thinking about Ruby and the mission they took a break of. Not like they can do anything roaming around unfamiliar lands. It still bothered him.
It's night and everyone is sleeping. Except for Jaune Arc. The severity of their mission still distracting him. The more time he wastes, the more he is failing at being a Huntsmen and his friends. He sits alone on a log, and looks up to see a startling sight for him. "The moon?"
Just behind him, Akame notices him sitting alone. After the nightmares she was getting, it's hard to sleep herself. A little walk around should help out. However, seeing Jaune sitting alone catches her attention. "Can't sleep?"
"Ech!" Jaune almost had a heart attack when Akame suddenly spoke. "Can you please warn me before you talk to me?!" He asked in a panic. He calms down and turns to her. "Well...the moon. See..."
"Huh?" Akame looks up to the perfectly bright moon. "What's wrong with it?"
Looking at it perfectly shaped and not...Jaune shakes it off. "It's...nothing."
It doesn't give much satisfaction for Akame. So she decides to be blunt about it. "Something's bothering you."
"Um...well..." Jaune begins to stutter. Unsure what to say. He doesn't know enough of this stranger, but she did help them. "If you're going to stick around then...I guess I can say..." He lets out a big sigh, not wanting to relive this, but feels like this person needs to know what he was going through. Let these repressed feelings out.
Akame can tell he is hesitating. Must be some bad memories. She can tell. "Take your time." She lets herself comfortable next to him.
Jaune gets a little nervous around her, but eventually becomes more at ease. "Right...so...Back where I came from...there was Huntsmen and Huntresses." Akame listens in. "We mostly try to learn to be Huntsmen to defend ourselves and protect others from creatures called Grimm."
Akame can't help but be reminded of something. "Like Danger Beasts?"
"Huh?" Jaune said in confusion.
Akame then shook her head. "Nevermind. Continue."
The blonde knows he is stalling for the most painful part and he doesn't want to waste the whole night, rambling. "So...I met this girl...man she was amazing...she was so nice. So strong. And I was too blind and stupid to see how much she wanted me...Me! Some loser who didn't know what to do...I..." He paused for a bit. He fought mentally to just let it out.
Akame knew how hard this was for him. "What happened to her?" She cautiously asked.
Jaune sighs, with tears welling up. "We were attacked...some terrorists attacked our school...and she wanted to fight alone...just to protect me...and she..." The memories begin to become too much, as he smacks his hands on his face to cover his tears. "She was taken from me..." He muffled. He breathed heavily and sobbed uncontrollably.
Akame's eyes lowered in sympathy. Hearing his story, it only compelled her to open up as well. "You remind me of someone..." Jaune sniffed but stopped crying for a second. "I knew someone who was confident, but way over his head at first. The group we were in helped him to become the best he can be. I helped him the best I could...I saw him grow, and seen him mourn our many friends lost." This had Jaune pause, as it seems like she lost more than he had, yet she looks more calmer than him.
Her eyes close. Something seems to well up under her lids. "He was truly the best of us, with his strength and courage. And yet...I had to see him die...in my arms..." Then her feelings begin to leak out. She always hid her emotions, and was mistakenly accused of being careless and apathetic as a result. Rarely have she truly broken down, and here is a very close moment. Her tears do leak out of her eye lids as she sniffs. "If only...if only he were..." She silently weeps downward. She had enough crying during the war. And yet...there is still so much pain in her heart.
Jaune could see she was suffering. Despite being a stranger to him, for the span of a whole day, she saved him, showed him around, and even listened to his story. He felt like he knew her enough to comfort her. He places his hand on her back, as she lets out a little cry. As the two strangers sit together below a full moon.
This took longer than I want, but I am glad I got it done. And just in time for Persona 3 Reload! I hope this is entertaining you guys. And I apologize for the slow work. Things were complicated this month. So I'm hoping I can get more into gear this month. Share this to all your friends if you can. And thanks for reading!
