Joe Velasco sat at the bar stool sipping his beer. After getting into some trouble with the last girl he met on the dating website, he decided to take a break from dating. When he got back on, he found this beautiful Italian who lived in Ridgefield, Connecticut. After messaging and talking on the phone, they finally decided to meet at a club not far from the precinct. The woman said she was already in town for her brother's engagement party and would like to meet up the night before. To say Joe was nervous was an understatement.

Gina slipped into the bathroom and locked the door. She leaned against the door and sighed. Sonny was right that she should be more careful about meeting guys online. That's what got her into the problem she was in now. One of the guys she had met got her addicted to cocaine. When her mother found out, she came unglued. She made them breakup and then sent Gina to rehab. Gina smirked.

'What good did that do Ma?' Gina thought.

She needed to calm her nerves before meeting this guy in person. She quickly snorted the cocaine then wiped her nose, making sure that there was no evidence left. She took one final look in the mirror before heading out to find this new guy.

Joe was starting to think this girl set him up. It had already been 20 minutes. He looked at his phone but didn't see any messages from her.

"Would you like another beer?" The bartender asked.

"No, I think I'm going to head out." Joe said, paying his tab.

Before he could leave, Gina walked up beside him.

"I'm looking for a hot Latino to buy me a drink." Gina grinned.

"There you are! I thought you were going to stand me up." Joe said wrapping his arm around her waist.

"Oh please, I would never stand up a good-looking guy like you!" Gina replied playful hitting his chest.

Joe pulled out a bar stool and offered it to Gina. "Can I buy you a drink?"

Gina smirked. Before Joe knew it, he and Gina were doing round after round of shots.

"Why don't you come back to my place." Gina whispered in Joe's ear.

It wasn't something he would normally do, but he felt comfortable with her. Felt like he had known her for a long time. The taxi ride to the hotel was a blur for them both. They didn't look out the window for being all over each other. Gina quickly threw some money at the cab driver and made her way up the stairs to her rundown hotel room. Had Joe been in his right mind, he would have realized they had worked cases here. Hookers, drug addicts, trouble came to this hotel. But that wasn't at the front of his mind. What was however was the fact of Gina pulling him in the door and locking it before she started ripping his clothes off him. It wasn't long before he picked her up and gently laid her on the bed and got to work. He hadn't planned on having sex that night, so he didn't bring a condom with him, but she assured him it was fine. They stayed up most of the night, falling asleep curled to each other around 4 a.m. Joe turned over when his alarm when off at 6 a.m. Gina was supposed to meet with her family, and he was supposed to head into work. They were already going to be a detective short. Amanda had taken off to have brunch with Carisi and his family. He slipped out of bed quietly, letting Gina continue to sleep. He went into the bathroom and turned the water on. As the bathroom started to steam up, he turned on his music and stepped into the shower. The thoughts of the night before played through his head. Could he have finally met the one? She was beautiful and seemed to be the perfect girl for him. He wanted to spend more time with her. His thoughts ran away with themselves, and he was in the shower until the water ran cold. He stepped out and wrapped a towel around his waist. He opened the bathroom door. He forgot how loud his music was and quickly turned it off.

"So, I was thinking we could have some breakfast delivered to the room." Joe suggested.

When he was met with no response, at first, he thought she was still asleep. He looked up from his phone. The horror of the situation hit him. He ran over to her to try and save her.
