Sonny sat in the emergency waiting room of Mercy Hospital alone. One of the hardest things he ever had to do was message his parents that Gina was in the hospital. It wasn't the first time she had been in the hospital. He remembered when she accidentally overdosed after a breakup. He was the one that found her then as well. At least she wasn't as close to death then as he felt she was this time. He had so many thoughts running through his head, yet he couldn't piece anything together to make sense out of what happened. He was startled when Benson touched his shoulder and handed him a cup of coffee.

"How are you holding up?" Olivia asked.

Sonny put his right hand in his pocket, trying to hide the bruise that was forming on his knuckles.

"Worried, scared. The moment I saw her, I thought she was dead." Sonny whispered.

"But she's not." Olivia said as she took a seat next to Sonny. "Rollins is back there with her, and they are working on her."

Sonny took a shaky breath. "How could Velasco do something like this? To anyone but my sister?"

Olivia was thrown off by the question. "Velasco? You believe he is the one behind this?"

Before she could receive her answer, Sonny's parents and his two sisters Teresa and Bella came running into the waiting room.

"Dominick, we came as soon as we got your message. How is she?" Serafina asked.

"The doctor is in with her now." Sonny answered.

"How could something like this of happened to her?" Teresa asked as she took a seat next to Sonny.

Bella crossed her arms and rolled her eyes. "Oh, come on, we all know how wild Gina is. She was bound to come across some creep eventually."

Dom Sr. put his hands in the air to try to calm the situation down. "Girls, that's no way to talk about your sister."

"They aren't wrong though." Serafina mumbled.

"Ma, please." Sonny begged.

Just this one time he wanted his Ma to be understanding of Gina. He knew she made mistakes but that didn't mean she wasn't his sister and he still loved her.

"Where is the chapel in this hospital? We can go light a candle and pray for your sister. Lord knows she needs all the prayers she can get." Serafina stated.

"I think it's down the hall a little way. I am going to stay right here in case the doctor comes out." Sonny said.

The Carisi's went to walk down the hallway when they heard a phrase that caused them to turn around and quickly go back to the waiting room.

"I am looking for the family of Gina Carisi." The doctor stated.

"We are the Carisi's." Dom Sr. said, a knot forming in his throat.

"How is she?" Serafina stated.

"If you would follow me so that we can talk in private." The ER doctor said motioning down the hallway.

Sonny knew anytime a doctor said that it wasn't good news.

"Whatever you have to say ya can say here. Doesn't matter what room we're in." Bella said getting straight to the point.

Olivia came over by Sonny and stood next to him. She placed her hand on his back and rubbed soothing circles. The poor guy was already on the edge of breaking down from seeing his sister, whatever the doctor said may send him over.

"Miss Carisi had multiple stab wounds to her chest and abdomen. She had extensive internal injuries. We did everything we could to save her. I'm so sorry." The doctor said before walking off.

Sonny broke away from the group finding the nearest trash can, he threw up. The thought of finding out his sister had died made him sick. He had tried to keep his stomach at bay since he saw her but hearing she was dead caused a volcano to erupt inside him.

Dom Sr. sat down heavily in a chair. His baby girl was gone. His wife collapsed in the chair next to him and sobbed along with his other two daughters. Serafina wondered where she went wrong. If she had done something different while Gina was growing up, would she still be alive? Did their strained relationship have something to do with Gina's drug problem and poor choice in men?

Olivia saw Amanda come out of the ER and went to her.

"How's Sonny doing?" Amanda asked.

"Not good. He's devastated as is the rest of his family." Olivia explained.

"Did the doctor tell them she had been raped?" Amanda asked.

Olivia shook her head. "He focused more on the fact she was gone."

"They ran a rape kit on her. Poor girl had been stabbed multiple times. They lost her on the way here and tried to save her." Amanda looked at the floor. It was hard to see her boyfriend's sister die in front of her.

Olivia rubbed her jaw, not sure of how to ask her next question. "Is there a reason why Carisi thinks Velasco is good for this?"

Amanda's had popped up. She wasn't sure how much Liv already knew. "When we got to the motel, Velasco was there with a towel around his waist, and he was covered in blood. Before she died, I was able to ask Gina who did this to her and she told me Joe."

Olivia was blown away. How could one of her detectives do this? "Okay, let's put a rush on the rape kit. See if we can get a DNA match. I'll head back to the precinct. Amanda, go check on Carisi and keep an eye on him."

Joe sat in the interrogation alone. He was still reeling at how one moment he was having the time of his life with an incredible woman and the next he was here being accused of stabbing her. He just hoped that she was okay. He wanted to get out of this place to go check on her. When IAB Renee Curry walked in he knew it wasn't good.

Curry sat across from him and opened her notepad before she started the recording on the camera. "Mister Velasco, why don't you walk me through the nights events."

Joe had no problem with that. He remembered everything clearly.

"Gina and I had been messaging. She was in town for her brother's engagement party." Joe explained.

"Were you away that Counselor Carisi was her brother?" Curry asked.

"No, sure never told me what her last name was. We met up at a bar, had a few drinks, and went back to her motel." Joe explained.

He got nervous about how many notes Curry was taking down.

"We had casual sex and spent the night together. She was sleeping so peacefully when I woke up so I thought I would let her continue to sleep. I slipped out of bed and got a shower." Joe said.

He paused and rubbed his face. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't get the image of seeing Gina lying on the bed covered in blood out of his head.

"When I got out of the shower, I turned my music off. I said something to Gina. When she didn't answer I looked up and that's when I saw she was covered in blood." Joe said trying to calm his breathing.

"Can you tell me what kind of weapon you used?" Curry questioned, showing Joe no empathy.

Joe slammed his fist down on the table. What part of this made this woman think he was the one that done this?

"Are you not listening to me? I didn't do this!" Joe yelled.

Oliva and Fin stood on the other side of the glass watching the interrogation.

"I believe the kid. If he says he didn't do it, he didn't do it." Fin said very matter of fact.

Olivia's phone dinged causing her to reach into her back pocket and check it. Her hopes went down the drain when she read the message.

"Except for he did. The rape kit just came back." Olivia frowned.

She showed Fin the results. He stood with his mouth open as Olivia walked into interrogation.

"Joe Velasco, you have the right to remain silent." Olivia said as she pulled Joe from his chair and put handcuffs on him.

"Cap what are you doing? Joe asked very confused.

"You are being held for the rape and murder of Gina Carisi." Olivia explained.

"Rape? I swear I didn't rape her! Wait…did you said murder. She died?" Joe asked, a wave of fear and sadness washed over him.

"I would suggest you get a lawyer because anything you say to me can and will be held against you." Liv growled.

She hated to be the bad guy, but everything pointed to the fact her detective was good for this.

"Captain you gotta believe me! I didn't do this!" Joe pleaded.

Olivia gave Fin a look as they passed by him. She shoved Joe down the hallway as Fin shook his head.

Joe was taken to Rykers where he had his mug shot taken and was placed in a holding cell. He placed his head in his hands. Just 24 hours ago he was on the other side of the bars. Now he was no more then the guys he arrested and put in here. He just prayed that the squad wouldn't turn their backs on him.
