Chapter Four: Sir Livewire
"I can't believe that we're going to Derek's party," Roland sighed.
"Well, he is the most popular boy in school," Renée pointed out.
"Good point. I just hope that he doesn't try to hit on Juliette." Upon saying that, Roland immediately began to blush.
Renée noticed this. "Oh my god, you like Juliette!"
"Not so loud!" Roland hissed. "The whole school's gonna hear about it, and I'll be having nightmares." He groaned, leaning against the lockers. At that moment, Juliette approached them.
"Hi you two! Are you excited for Derek's party?"
"Oh yeah, we are," Renée replied.
"Yeah, I can't wait to spend some time with you," Roland turned to Juliette as he said this.
Juliette giggled. "You're so sweet Roland!" A faint blush came onto her face.
"I try," Roland gave her a sheepish smile.
At that moment, a handsome man walked over to the three of them. He was taller and more muscular than Roland, and had blonde hair and blue eyes. He wore basic football player clothing. "Well, hello there," the male grinned, winking at Juliette and Renée. "I don't remember seeing such beautiful girls hanging out with the skinny weakling."
Both Renée and Juliette scowled. "Leave us alone, Derek," Renée snapped.
"Yeah, and apologize to Roland! He's our friend!" Juliette countered.
"Let the man speak up for himself," the jock, now addressed as Derek, spoke up angrily, glaring at Roland as two of Derek's cronies arrived. "Or are we going to have to fight about it? Because if this sparks a fight," a cruel smirk forms on his face as he stares right at Roland. "Then I have the upper hand. I'm more popular and stronger than you." He cleared his throat and looked at both Juliette and Renée. "Well baby? What do you say? You and me?"
"As if," Renée scoffed, moving away from Derek.
Juliette took a deep breath, before grabbing Derek's arm, twisting it painfully. "Let me make one thing clear to you. I'm not interested. Stay the hell away from me, or else I will kick you where the sun doesn't shine," she threatened, before letting go of the jock's arm.
"Point taken," Derek replied bluntly. "You're not my type anyway," he added, rubbing his twisted arm.
"But you just tried to hit on them," one of his cronies spoke up.
"Shut up Jonathan!" Derek snapped at the crony. "Let's just go. We have a party to plan," and with that, Derek, Jonathan, and the unnamed crony walked away, but not before Derek cast a smirk Roland's way.
"Ugh, what a jerk!" Juliette glared as the three boys left, before turning to Roland. "You okay?"
"Yeah. Thanks for standing up for me," Roland replied.
"What are friends for?" Renée grinned at the two of them.
Later that night…
At Derek's house, one would see bright, almost flashing lights, with loud music being able to have been heard from even outside the house, much to the hatred of his neighbors. The interior was not much better. With loud music, flashing lights, there were also spilled cups that contained fruit punch now on the floor, as well as crumbs and candy wrappers. People were crowded around each other, laughing.
Derek headed over to the punch bowl with a bottle in hand. The bottle wasn't labelled. He opened it and poured the bottle's contents into the bowl. He chuckled internally to himself. No one would suspect a thing.
"What's in that?" He heard a voice speak up. It was Jonathan, who looked rather confused.
"Why, Jonny boy, it's only to help people have a fun time," Derek smirked. That basically confirmed Jonathan's thoughts.
"You can't get people drunk," he whispered to the party boy.
"Oh yeah, and what are you gonna do to stop me?" Derek asked. "It's already spiked. You can't do anything. So go back out there and have a fun time, okay? After all, that's what my sidekicks in the party biz would do."
Jonathan clenched his fist and stormed away from Derek. How being nothing more than a mere sideliner was his only purpose for Derek. He felt his negative emotions grow…
In a dark looking room, a window opened up, and a man stood there. It was Hawkmoth. "Ah, negative emotions. That's just perfect. A guy who is used by a bully." Hawkmoth held out his hand for a butterfly to land on it. Once it did, the masked villain covered his hand, giving the butterfly dark energy; to transform it into an akuma.
"Fly away my evil akuma, and evilise him!"
The butterfly flew out of the open window, going to find its target.
Jonathan had begun walking away from the party. He was holding his phone, gripping it tightly.
The dark butterfly flew down towards him, before absorbing itself into his phone, turning it a dark purple.
Jonathan looked up, the area around his eyes turning a rust color. Soon, a light purple butterfly mask appeared around his eyes as well.
"Sir Livewire. I am Hawkmoth. I'm granting you the power of electricity. Your phone is now your weapon. You can control all types of electricity, and knock people unconscious. There is just one thing I need in return from you if I give you these powers. Seize the Miraculouses of Ladybug, Cat Noir, Lionne, and Ocelot; the four pathetic heroes of Paris; and bring them to me! Do we have a deal?" Hawkmoth asked the boy telepathically.
"It's a deal, Hawkmoth!" Jonathan exclaimed, letting the dark magic consume him. Once the magic faded, he now had white hair, pale skin, and electric yellow eyes. His suit was a simple black, with yellow lightning bolts around it. He had yellow boots and a white mask around his eyes. He also had his phone, which was now a dark purplish black color.
With a sinister smirk, he headed back to the party...
At the party, one of the cheerleaders was flirting with Derek. "What a great party, handsome," she said.
"Why thank you, beauty," Derek smirked at the cheerleader. He was paying less attention to what she was saying and paying more attention to her body. Wow.
The cheerleader grinned. She was dressed in a crop top, with a really short pair of shorts, and sandals.
Derek smirked as he took in her appearance.
Suddenly, screams came from the front of the house. The music suddenly stopped. Weird.
Derek turned around, annoyed. "Alright, what the hell is going on?!" he asked...well, more like yelled. He headed over to the front of the house.
People were unconscious. No, not from the drinks. Some people's hairs were also frizzy...and small bolts of electricity were around their bodies.
"What the fu-" Derek began before being cut off. At the right time, too.
"Well, well Derek," a sinister voice came. It belonged to Sir Livewire.
"What the?!" Derek yelled out. "Who are you?! I never invited a weird dude with yellow eyes and white hair! Get away you weirdo!"
"I'm hurt you would say that," Sir Livewire replied. His phone charged with electricity. "But maybe it's time you get a taste of your own medicine." He pointed the phone at Derek.
The party boy didn't get a chance to react before he was shocked by the electricity. He let out a yell...and promptly fell to the floor, unconscious after that. His hair was frizzy now and small bolts of electricity formed around his body.
As screams were heard, Juliette groaned. "Oh great. Another akuma! We'd better hide," she said to her friends.
"I can't wait for Ladybug, Cat Noir, Ocelot and Lionne to show up!" Renée exclaimed, before running to hide. Both Roland and Juliette were left.
"Guess we should find somewhere safe," Roland said.
"Yeah. Let's split up. It'll be easier," Juliette replied.
"Alright, but please be careful," Roland said, as he went in one direction to hide.
Juliette went in the other direction to hide, opening a window, and hiding underneath it.
"Ugh, Leena, I was so close to admitting my feelings to Roland!" Juliette groaned.
"Well, there's no time for that, Juliette! You've gotta transform; and send a message to Ladybug and Cat Noir!" Leena replied.
"You're right, Leena! Let's do this! Leena, let's roar!" With that, the pretty French girl was transformed into the lion heroine, Lionne. She posed, and then jumped through the window.
In another hiding spot, Roland let Occa out. "Alright, let's do this! Occa, streaks on!" The boy was soon transformed into Ocelot, and he posed, before going out to find whoever was causing trouble.
At the house, one of the cheerleaders who wasn't hit yet was trying to hide. She was being silent. She didn't want to move a muscle. She found a hiding spot in a closet, quickly shutting the door, leaving her in complete darkness.
Sir Livewire was walking around the house, trying to find any other civilians.
Ocelot and Lionne were soon met with multiple unconscious bodies.
"This is bad," Lionne said.
"Tell me about it," Ocelot sighed.
"We heard screams, is everyone alright?" Ladybug had just arrived.
"If you can see, there're many unconscious bodies," Lionne grumbled.
"Geez, I wonder who could have done this?" Cat Noir asked as he came in as well.
You wonder?" a voice came. Sir Livewire entered the main room. "It won't be just them for long." His phone was charged up with electricity, and he was ready to fire.
The heroes all turned around, and got into fighting positions.
"What got your pants in a twist, lightning thief?" Ladybug asked.
"I'm tired of being overshadowed! And the name's Sir Livewire, you fools!" Sir Livewire shouted at them, charging his phone with electricity.
"So to make yourself less overshadowed you turned into some electrokinetic criminal guy?" Cat Noir quipped. "Yeah, that makes you less overshadowed. But people are going to focus more on the 'why' and 'how' over the 'who', y'know?"
Sir Livewire angrily shot electricity at the four heroes, who were able to dodge out of the way.
"It's the phone!" Lionne shouted. "We've gotta aim for that! That's where the akuma is!"
"Good eye, Lionne!" Ladybug grinned. "Then it's time for a bit of luck! Lucky Charm!"
Magical ladybugs surrounded the yo-yo, before an item dropped into her hand. "A lasso? What can I do with this?"
"Tie him up!" Ocelot replied. "Kinesis!" his gauntlets charged up, and he gave a super powerful punch.
"Hey!" Sir Livewire growled at the punch. His phone charged up with electricity; as he prepared to fire a shot at the ocelot hero. "Now you're making me angry!"
"Don't you dare touch him!" Lionne kicked the villain in his family jewels; causing him to collapse in pain, and also dropping his phone.
Ladybug twirled the lasso in the air, and threw it at Sir Livewire, capturing him.
"Cataclysm!" Cat Noir shouted, as he destroyed the phone, turning it into nothing but dust.
"No more evildoing for you, akuma! Time to deevilise!" Ladybug shouted, as she captured the escaping akuma with her yo-yo. Upon capturing it, she opened her yo-yo to release the now purified butterfly. "Bye-bye little butterfly."
She soon grabbed the lasso, and threw it up in the air. "MIRACULOUS LADYBUG!"
All the unconscious people become conscious again, their hair no longer frizzed and no more electric bolts around them.
Sir Livewire himself turned back into Jonathan, who looked confused. "What happened?"
The ladybugs even fixed the phone, and it was good as new.
"Pound it!" the four heroes cheered, doing their traditional fistbump.
"NOOOOOOOOO!" Hawkmoth growled in annoyance. "You may have won this time, Ladybug, Cat Noir, Lionne, and Ocelot; but next time, I will win! I will seize your Miraculouses; and make my wish come true!" Hawkmoth laughed evilly as the window in his lair closed.
Lionne picked up the phone, and passed it to Jonathan. "I believe this is yours?" she said.
"Thank you Lionne!" Jonathan smiled as he took the phone back.
"No problem. We've got to go. Take care," Ladybug replied, as the four heroes made their way out of the party; upon hearing their Miraculouses beeping; warning them that they were running out of time before they transformed back into their civilian selves.
Coming out from the closet was the cheerleader who had hid.
Jonathan looked over at the cheerleader. He hadn't really seen her around. Actually, he wasn't really able to see the cheerleaders until now, as Derek hadn't wanted him or the other crony to see 'the hot ones' as the popular guy had referred to them as.
"Hi," the cheerleader said. She seemed to be the newest cheerleader. Despite being a senior student. She had jet black hair, and light brown eyes.
Jonathan thought she looked kind of cute. He ran a hand through his blonde hair quickly to try to make himself look good. "Hey," he smiled back at her, light brown eyes looking into another pair of light brown eyes. "I'm Jonathan. I don't think I've seen you around here?"
"Rachel. I just transferred to the school from another town," she replied.
"Nice to meet you Rachel," Jonathan replied. "If you want at some point, maybe I could show you around the school, or town if you need it?"
"I'd like that," Rachel smiled at him. She looked at her phone. "It's getting late. I should get home." She handed him a slip of paper. "Call me," she said.
Jonathan took the piece of paper. "I will," he replied with a nod. "Do you...want me to walk you home?" he asked.
"What a gentleman. Of course," Rachel smiled softly, feeling her heart flutter. "I wouldn't want any thugs to attack me on my way home."
Jonathan smiled and held out his hand. "It's not a problem," he replied.
Rachel took his hand.
"Whoa whoa whoa," Derek spoke up, heading over to Jonathan. "Jonny, come on man, you can't leave just ye-"
"I'm leaving with Rachel and that's final," Jonathan replied. "Besides, I've told you multiple times I hate being called Jonny. I'm done with you." He looked at Rachel. "I'm sorry you had to see that."
"I've been there. Idiots thinking that they're number one," Rachel rolled her eyes. "They're the worst."
"I'm with you," Jonathan replied. "Now, let's get you home. Wouldn't want you dealing with Mister 'I'm the Most Popular Guy' here before he hits on you."
"He's actually not my type. Mean guys, to be specific. I like nice guys," Rachel said, walking out of the house with him.
"I'm glad to hear it," Jonathan replied. "I don't see why he's so appealing to girls. All he does is bully people and hit on other girls."
"What a dickface," Rachel scowled. "I'm glad you're the knight in shining armor."
Jonathan felt his face turn red. Was he really the knight in shining armor? After what had happened..? Well, that didn't seem to matter at the moment. "I'm glad I could be your knight in shining armor," he replied with a smile.
Rachel giggled softly. They soon turned onto her street. "So Jonathan, tell me about yourself. I need to get to know this handsome boy who is walking me home."
"I play basketball," Jonathan replied. "I've lived in this city basically my entire life, and despite what people think, I'm hoping to go to college and not just jump straight into adult life once I graduate."
"Impressive," Rachel smiled. "What are you hoping to study in college?"
"Economics," Jonathan replied. "Most people would assume I'm only aiming for college for a basketball scholarship. While it'd be nice, I admit, I feel like Economics is an interesting subject of its own."
"That's so cool. I want to work with children. I grew up in a large family, so I had to help take care of my younger siblings. I've got two older siblings in college and university, and 5 younger siblings," Rachel said.
"If you ever need any help with babysitting, or if you start to feel lonely if you're looking after your younger siblings, let me know," Jonathan replied. He handed her a slip of paper with his own phone number on it.
"I'm sure my parents won't mind, as long as we focus on the kids," Rachel winked at him.
"Heh, yeah, of course," Jonathan replied, his face turning redder when she winked at him.
Upon arriving at her house, Rachel looked at him. "Well, this is me," she said.
"Alright," Jonathan replied. "So, I'll see you around?"
"You will," Rachel replied. She hesitated before kissing his cheek quickly, before she made her way inside her house.
Jonathan stood there for a moment. He was wide-eyed, blushing, and had a hand on his cheek where she'd kissed him. He was still for a moment before he smiled and began to walk to his own house.
Upon the party being over, Roland, Renée and Juliette made their way home, walking together.
"You know, I'm so glad that Ladybug, Cat Noir, Lionne and Ocelot managed to save the day," Renée said.
"I know, they're lifesavers," Juliette replied. She grinned at Roland, who shrugged. "Come on, Roland! Don't you dream of being saved by Lionne one day?"
"Well, she is cute," Roland admitted. "But I don't know if she'll like me back. I'm just a normal boy."
'Who has to hide the fact that I'm also Ocelot,' the boy thought silently to himself.
"You never know unless you try!" Juliette grinned at him.
"I suppose you're right," Roland replied.
