In this chapter: Chloé mocks Christopher for being a magician, and the young man is akumatized into Masked Magician. Lauren is determined to save her brother, and so, the heroes of Paris trust her with a Miraculous; with that being the Miraculous of the Flamingo, which grants the power of Duplication! However, before this, the akuma causes them to swap Miraculouses for this particular mission! Adrien will get Ocelot's Miraculous, Marinette will get Lionne's Miraculous, Juliette will get Ladybug's Miraculous, and Roland will get Cat Noir's Miraculous! Will the heroes be able to handle using another Miraculous? Find out in this chapter!
Also, I'm lazy, so I might just use some wiki for Roland as the cat user. Maybe I might come up with something for the others, I dunno. We'll see. XD. I will also just use Roland's appearance as Ocelot for Adrien.
Chapter Eighteen: Masked Magician
It was a normal day in Paris, France. Christopher Greenwood would be hanging out with his sister, Lauren. The young man was currently making a coin disappear and reappear in his hands.
"You're amazing at magic, bro," Lauren smiled.
"Thanks sis. I'm really happy you were able to get that record deal," Christopher smiled.
Lauren blushed. "Now, all I have to do is find a girlfriend."
"You'll find the right one out there, I just know it," Christopher said.
"How about you?" Lauren asked.
"What do you mean?" Christopher asked, confused.
"Do you have a crush on anyone?" Lauren asked.
Christopher blushed. "Not that I know of."
"There has to be someone," Lauren smiled.
"Oh, nobody would love somebody like you," a snotty voice let out with a wicked laugh.
Lauren groaned. "Oh no..."
"What?" Christopher asked.
"It's the wicked witch of the west," Lauren said.
Chloé would approach, along with her minion, Sabrina, who was looking down at the ground.
"What do you want, Chloé?" Christopher demanded.
"I'm just saying. Nobody would love a freak like you. Your magic isn't real," Chloé continued.
"How dare you!" Lauren glared at her.
"Excuse me?" Chloé huffed.
"How dare you insult my brother!" Lauren continued.
"The freak's your brother? Oh, what a surprise. Not, considering you're one as well," Chloé smirked.
"What does that have to do with my brother?!" Lauren balled up her fists.
"Oh, the fact that you love girls," Chloé said.
"Um, don't you have two classmates just like that?!" Lauren demanded.
"But they're not like you. I mean, HELLO! What kind of a stage name is Countess Contessa anyways? That's lame, utterly lame!" Chloé mocked.
"Hey, how dare you!" Christopher stood up, annoyed.
"Excuse me?!" Chloé gasped.
"You heard me! How dare you speak to my sister this way!" Christopher glared.
"Okay, that is it! I'm calling my daddy to get you two banned from Paris forever!" Chloé took out her cellphone.
"Actually, we're leaving," Lauren said, taking her brother's hand.
"That brat is going to pay, mark my words!" Christopher stormed off, letting go of his sister's hand.
"Chris!" Lauren let out, worried, chasing after him.
A mechanical whir broke the chamber's silence, and ghastly blue light was allowed into the circular room. The moment the light struck the white forms along the ground, the butterflies, now luminescent, took to the air. They filled the dim chamber as a cloud of beating wings, hovering around the figure in the center of the room. It would soon reveal Hawk Moth.
"An angered magician? Now there's the perfect prey for my akuma," Hawk Moth smirked, as he let a butterfly land on his hand. Once it did, he corrupted it with his dark power, turning it into an akuma, before letting it go out the window.
"Fly, my little akuma, and evilise him!" Hawk Moth twirled his cane, before letting it stomp on the floor for a bit.
The akuma would fly out into Paris, searching for its victim.
The akuma would soon find Christopher, and fly down to him, absorbing itself into his wand.
Christopher's face would immediately darken, the area around his face becoming a darker shade of moderate vermilion. A light butterfly mask would also appear.
"Masked Magician, I am Hawk Moth. Your magic wand is now your weapon. You can use it to cause chaos around Paris. In exchange, bring me the Miraculouses of Ladybug, Cat Noir, Ocelot, and Lionne. Do we have a deal?" Hawk Moth asked.
"Thank you, Hawk Moth," Christopher grinned darkly, as the dark ether would cover his body, transforming him into a villain.
Lauren gasped as she saw this. "Oh...no..." she let out.
The dark ether soon faded away, and Christopher would look completely different. His skin turned pale, and he would be wearing a black and white suit, with a black bowtie, a black top hat, and a pair of black and white dress shoes. He also wore a black and white mask over his eyes. His wand was a dark black. He was no longer Christopher Greenwood...he was now Masked Magician.
"Let's change things up a bit," Masked Magician smirked. His eyes would glow purple as did his wand. "Heroes of Paris, hear my decree! Until you defeat me, your powers will be swapped! Ladybug, you'll use Lionne's powers! Cat Noir, you'll use Ocelot's powers! Lionne, you'll use Ladybug's powers! Ocelot, you'll use Cat Noir's powers! You will also gain those Miraculouses of the ones that I've mentioned! Azarath Metrion Zinthos!"
With that, the magic spell would take effect instantly, swapping the Miraculouses of the four heroes around.
"Now, taking your Miraculouses will be like taking candy from a baby," Masked Magician let out an evil laugh.
With Marinette...
Marinette would wake up. "What a good nap, right, Tikki?" she asked.
"What are you talking about?" a voice asked.
Marinette turned...and saw Leena!
"Wait, you're not Tikki!" Marinette let out. She looked at her mirror. "Where are my earrings?!"
"I think there's an akuma on the loose!" Leena let out.
"I don't even know how to use the Lion powers!" Marinette lamented.
"Don't worry, I'll explain!" Leena let out. She held out the barrette to Marinette, who would tentatively put it on.
After a quick explanation...
"So I can use Lion's Scratch as many times as I want?" Marinette asked.
"It takes 60 seconds for it to recharge," Leena said.
"And Mighty Roar is the timer power?" Marinette continued.
"That's right! You have to make sure you warn the other heroes to cover their ears! Otherwise, they'll go temporarily deaf!" Leena let out.
"Okay, warn other heroes to cover their ears," Marinette let out. She was still a little nervous.
"Now, this is important. To transform, you have to say 'Leena, Let's Roar!' And to detransform, you have to say 'Leena, Let's Hush!' Think you've got that?"
"I think so," Marinette replied. "Wait, what do you like to eat?"
"I love blueberries, but if you don't have any, I accept any form of meat. Raw or cooked," Leena replied.
"Okay...let's do this. Leena, LET'S ROAR!" Marinette let out, as Leena was absorbed into the barrette. Marinette swiped her hands across her face, as her eyes turned black, and became cat-like, and a golden superhero mask would appear. She would wear a golden bodysuit, with golden gloves that had black claws on them. She also wore medium black boots with a golden lion logo on it. She also touched her hair, as it came out of its pigtails, and became straight, with a black hairband that had fake lion ears on it. Her hair would gain golden blonde highlights. She would swipe her hands across her waist, as a dark golden belt would appear, making it look like a lion's tail. On the bodysuit were two holsters, which held a dagger in each one. She would pose after her transformation.
"Ah!" The transformed Marinette let out. "Okay, okay, don't panic, Marinette, you've got this! I'll just go by...Lioness! Let's go!"
With Adrien...
"Okay, so you're Ocelot's Kwami," Adrien said, as he put the hair clip into his hair.
"Yes, that's right," Occa said.
"And now I have the power of Kinesis?" Adrien continued.
"Good, you catch on quick! Now, let me explain how to transform and detransform," Occa said.
After a quick explanation...
"Ready to do this?" Occa asked.
"Occa, STREAKS ON!" Adrien let out. He would soon wear a golden yellow suit with large streak spots on the arms, torso, back, and legs that have a thick black outline and are light yellow in the middle. He has a light yellow middle section down his middle that goes slightly down his thighs before curving under him and partly up his butt. Around his waist is a belt-like structure that holds a long tail that is golden yellow with black spots. His tail is very heavy and usually used for leverage, but can be removed to wield like a flail. He wore tall boots that point up to his knees with a black heel and a light metallic yellow toe that are fashioned like paws.
The sole of his boots also have paws on the bottom. His collar is black and goes up his neck; though it comes down in the middle with a diamond shape around the middle of his collar bone. His mask is heavily marked like an ocelot's face with black and white markings on golden yellow. His eyes gain a blue sclera and turn to slits like a cat's do. He has fake ocelot ears including oceli on the back of them. His hair also gets long and shaggier, the longest parts on both sides of his head gain a golden yellow ombre at the ends. He has gauntlets with heavily armored fingers joints and knuckles that end with sharp claws at the ends. He poses once he finished his transformation.
"Okay, now I need a name..." the transformed Adrien let out. "Okay, let's see...how about...Gattopardo?" He tested it on his tongue a couple of times, before nodding. "Yeah, that'll do. Now it's time to defeat this akuma."
With Juliette...
"Oh, I've always wanted to use Ladybug's powers, and now I can!" Juliette let out, putting on the earrings.
"Oh, that's wonderful!" Tikki let out. "So I don't have to explain anything!"
"This is gonna be so exciting!" Juliette let out.
"Do you know what to say?" Tikki asked.
"Yes I do! Tikki, SPOTS ON!" Juliette let out, as Tikki was absorbed into the earrings. They would turn red with five black spots in a quincunx pattern. She swipes her hands across her face, as a red mask with five black spots that are in a symmetrical design would appear. She would have her platinum blonde hair tied into pigtail bunches held by red ribbons. She would wear a red and black spotted dress, with red and black spotted tights, with red ankle boots. The yoyo would appear around her waist. She would pose after her transformation.
"Whoa, I look amazing!" the transformed Juliette let out. "Okay, now I need a name. I can't be Ladybug...I'll be...Coccinella!" she let out. She would then use the yoyo to leave her bedroom.
With Roland...
"Okay, this is bad, this is so bad," Roland let out, putting on the Cat Miraculous.
"Calm down, dude, I'm panicking too, but there's no time! Anyway, Cataclysm is the power, and you can destroy anything but-"
"I only have 5 minutes before I detransform," Roland said.
"Good! Now, all you have to say is 'Plagg, Claws Out!'" the kwami said.
"Plagg, CLAWS OUT!" Roland let out, transforming. He would soon transform, having greenish-blackish hair that he parts on the left with a few wild strands and short ponytail on the back. He also has a pair of fake cat ears in his hair. He has the same eye color and cat-like slit sclerae as Cat Noir. His mask is black, similar to Cat Noir's, but it has a horizontal golden stripe across the top with a dip in the middle where the edge of the mask dips. His costume is dark gray and looks similar to an 18th century military uniform with six gold paw print shaped buttons, and another two on the backs of his shoulders, and gold lining. He has tall black boots that reach a little past his knees and long black gloves that almost reach his shoulders. His shoulders are also black and the ends of his fingers have pointed curved cat-like claws. Unlike Cat Noir, he has no bell. His long black belt is tied around his waist and extends into a fake tail in the back along with a silver belt buckle on the front in the shape of a right angle pointing to his left. He would pose after his transformation.
"Sick," he let out. "Okay, I need a name...how about...Nigrum Cattus?" he said. "Yeah, that works." He would use the staff to leave his room.
Masked Magician would be attacking Paris. The citizens were running away in fear.
"Oh, you should be afraid! I'm your worst nightmare!" Masked Magician let out, laughing wickedly.
"Christopher, please!" Lauren shouted. "You need to snap out of it!"
"Christopher's gone! I'm Masked Magician!" the akumatized villain let out.
"But..." Lauren let out.
"Maybe it's time to teach you a lesson!" Masked Magician growled. He took out his wand, and his eyes flashed purple.
"Azarath Metrion Zinthos! Fire Blast!" he shouted, as a blast of fire would shoot out from his wand towards Lauren.
She screamed, bracing herself for the attack, when a yoyo came and grabbed her, taking her out of the way!
"Huh?!" Lauren let out.
She would soon see...a different ladybug hero!
"Who are you? Where's Ladybug?" Lauren asked.
"She's on vacation. I'm Coccinella," the new ladybug hero replied.
"Thank you, Coccinella!" Lauren let out. "Please, save my brother!"
"Don't worry, me and the other heroes will do so," Coccinella promised. "Get to safety."
Lauren nodded and would get to safety.
"Need some help, m'lady?" a smooth voice asked from behind.
Coccinella would turn around. "Ocelot? Is that you?"
"Yeah, but I'm Nigrum Cattus, thanks to this annoying akuma," Nigrum Cattus replied. "Lionne?"
"Yes, but I'm now Coccinella," Coccinella said.
"I wonder if Ladybug and Cat Noir were affected?" Nigrum Cattus asked.
"Yeah, we were affected," Lioness said as she joined them.
"LADYBUG?!" both Nigrum Cattus and Coccinella let out.
"Yes, it's me, but right now, I'm Lioness," she let out.
"And I was affected too," Gattopardo let out, arriving.
"CAT NOIR?" Lioness, Nigrum Cattus and Coccinella let out at the same time.
"Apparently, this akuma made us swap Miraculouses! And I'm Gattopardo, by the way," he said.
"Okay, so all of us are affected," Coccinella let out.
Suddenly, in a puff of smoke, Masked Magician appeared. "Oh, good! How do you like your new powers?!"
"So you're the one behind this?!" Gattopardo asked, annoyed.
"That's right, I am! You can call me Masked Magician!" he proclaimed.
"Seriously? What kind of a lame name is that?!" Nigrum Cattus let out.
"I'll show you lame!" he growled. "Azarath Metrion Zinthos! Black Hole Eclipse!"
With that, a large black hole would appear where they were standing. Coccinella would use her yoyo to grab onto a pole. "Grab on, everyone!" she yelled.
They would do so, and make it out of the black hole, landing on the top of another building.
The butterfly outline appeared around Masked Magician's eyes.
"Excellent job on getting them confused with their new powers! Now, seize the Miraculouses, Masked Magician!" Hawk Moth ordered.
"Yes, Hawk Moth," Masked Magician grinned wickedly.
"Now would be a good time to use that Lucky Charm, Coccinella!" Lioness let out.
"Right! LUCKY CHARM!" Coccinella let out, tossing the yoyo up into the air. Magical ladybugs would surround the object before an item dropped into her hands.
"A plastic flamingo?" Coccinella let out. Then, she got an idea. "Lioness, come with me. Gattopardo and Nigrum Cattus, can you hold him off?"
"You've got it," Nigrum Cattus winked at her.
Coccinella and Lioness would soon head off.
At Master Fu's Tea Shop...
"Okay, Lioness, you go in. I'll wait nearby, and recharge. Once you get a Miraculous, you give it to me, and I'll go find an ally," Coccinella said.
"Sounds good," Lioness said, going inside.
Master Fu would be surprised. "Can I help you?"
"Master Fu, it's me, Ladybug! But now I'm Lioness!" Lioness let out.
"Ladybug!" Master Fu was wide-eyed.
"Yes, this akuma made us all swap our Miraculouses!" Lioness said.
"And I guess you're gonna need some help?" Master Fu asked.
Lioness nodded.
Master Fu would call Marianne, and the two would get out their Miraculous boxes, opening them up.
"Pick a Miraculous to help you out in this mission. Once the mission is complete, you will return the Miraculous," Master Fu said.
"Choose wisely," Marianne said.
Lioness would be looking at the Miraculouses in both boxes. "Let's see...I think I'll go with..."
Outside...
"Spots off," Coccinella let out, as she detransformed back into Juliette, and would feed Tikki. Once Tikki ate, she would smile. "Ready, Tikki?"
"Ready!" Tikki let out.
"Tikki, SPOTS ON!" Juliette let out, transforming. The earrings would would turn red with five black spots in a quincunx pattern. She swipes her hands across her face, as a red mask with five black spots that are in a symmetrical design would appear. She would have her platinum blonde hair tied into pigtail bunches held by red ribbons. She would wear a red and black spotted dress, with red and black spotted tights, with red ankle boots. The yoyo would appear around her waist.
Lioness would soon step outside with a box in her hands. "Coccinella! I got the Miraculous of the Flamingo!"
"Awesome! Go back to Gattopardo and Nigrum Cattus! I'll be right back," Coccinella said, as she took the box and would use her yoyo to go to find Lauren.
Lioness would nod, heading off back to the fight.
With Lauren...
She would be hiding in a portable bathroom. It was smelly, but she had no other choice.
"Lauren!" Coccinella let out, knocking on the portable bathroom door.
"Coccinella?" Lauren asked.
"Yes, can you come out? We need your help," Coccinella said.
Lauren would unlock the portable bathroom door, and step out. "My help?"
"Lauren Greenwood, here is the Miraculous of the Flamingo, which grants the power of Duplication. You will use it for the greater good," Coccinella said, holding out the box to her.
Lauren would be wide-eyed, and take the box in her hands.
"Once the mission is complete, you will return the Miraculous to me. Can I trust you?"
"Yes, Coccinella!" Lauren let out, opening the box, revealing a diadem. A pink light would soon appear, as Lauren would cover her eyes to avoid getting blind. When the light faded, a tiny pink creature would appear. It looked like a baby Flamingo, with light pink feathers.
"Oh my goodness!" Lauren let out.
"Hello there! I'm Libby, and I'm your Kwami!" Libby said.
"No way!" Lauren let out.
"Yes way!" Libby let out, smiling.
Lauren took the diadem out of the box, and it would instantly change into a beaded bracelet.
"Huh, that's new," Coccinella said.
"Some Miraculouses can change forms, depending on the user," Libby said. "Usually, mine turns into a watch if it's a male holder."
"While the diadem is pretty, it's not something that I would wear," Lauren said, as she slipped the bracelet onto her right arm.
"Alrighty! So, your power is Duplication, and it'll create a double of your hero form. However, as soon as you use the power, you will have this double for only 4 minutes. Then you'll have five minutes before you detransform," Libby said.
"Got it!" Lauren nodded.
"All you have to say to transform is 'Libby, Confusion Time!' To detransform if you haven't used your power, say 'Libby, Confusion Over!' Think you've got it?" Libby asked.
"Libby, CONFUSION TIME!" Lauren let out, as Libby would be absorbed into the beaded bracelet. She would smile as her hair turned bright pink, and was braided into a pretty plait. She would wear a full-length pink bodysuit, with pink boots, pink fingerless gloves, and a flamingo-beak helmet that thankfully didn't hide her hair. She would also gain a pointed staff: the end of it resembled a flamingo beak. She would pose after her transformation.
"Call me...Pink Flamingo! It's the best I can come up with," the transformed Lauren said.
"Come on, Pink Flamingo! We've got an akuma to stop!" Coccinella let out, heading to the scene.
Masked Magician was sending blasts of magic towards Lioness, Nigrum Cattus, and Gattopardo. They were each dodging.
"Stay still you mangy heroes!" Masked Magician yelled.
"NEVER!" Lioness yelled. "LION'S SCRATCH!" She would activate the power, and stun him.
"Good thinking!" Nigrum Cattus grinned.
"Thank you!" Lioness smiled.
Coccinella would soon arrive with Pink Flamingo. "Hey guys, meet Pink Flamingo."
"Nice to meet you," Pink Flamingo smiled.
Masked Magician would soon unfreeze. "How dare you!"
"We need something, quick!" Gattopardo let out.
"LUCKY CHARM!" Coccinella let out, throwing her yoyo into the air. Magical ladybugs would surround it, before an item dropped into her hands.
"A mirror! I know exactly what to do with this!" she let out.
"You do?" Lioness asked.
Coccinella nodded. "Gattopardo, use Kinesis now!"
"Got it! KINESIS!" Gattopardo shouted, charging the gauntlets with energy. He would throw a punch towards Masked Magician.
Masked Magician would dodge the attack. "Is that the best you can do?!"
"Duplication!" Pink Flamingo yelled, making a clone of herself.
"What the?" Masked Magician let out. He growled, and sent a blast of magic, and Coccinella would use the mirror to deflect the spell back at him. He screamed in pain.
"Cover your ears!" Lioness told her fellow heroes, who would do so. "MIGHTY ROAR!"
With that, Lioness let out a loud roar, and Masked Magician would instantly go deaf in his ears.
Pink Flamingo's clone would grab the wand, and toss it to Nigrum Cattus. "Do your thing!"
"CATACLYSM!" Nigrum Cattus shouted, as the destructive black energy appeared in his hand. The wand landed in the hand with the Cataclysm. It would be destroyed instantly, and the akuma would flutter out, trying to escape.
Coccinella would open her yoyo. "No more evildoing for you today, little akuma." She would soon spin the yoyo in an extravagant manner. "Time to free you from evil!" she yelled, throwing the open yoyo towards the akuma, capturing it quickly. "Gotcha!" She would soon release the now purified butterfly. "Take care, little butterfly." She would soon grab the mirror, and throw it up into the air. "MIRACULOUS COCCINELLA!"
Magical ladybugs would go around and fix all of the damage done by Masked Magician. In that time, Pink Flamingo's clone would disappear. The wand would also be repaired.
"Pound it!" the heroes let out, doing their traditional fist bump.
Under the fluttering wingbeats, Hawk Moth growled and his cane creaked under the pressure of his grip. He clasped a hand over his brooch, and his voice rumbled against the metal walls. "Curse you all! I will get your Miraculouses! One day!"
Masked Magician would soon turn back into Christopher, confused. "What happened?"
"I think this belongs to you," Pink Flamingo let out, handing him the wand.
"Thank you! Uh..." Christopher let out.
"Oh! I'm Pink Flamingo!" she let out. Her bracelet let out a warning beep. "I need to go. See you around."
All the heroes would soon leave.
With Coccinella and Pink Flamingo...
The final warning beep would come from Pink Flamingo's Miraculous, and she would detransform, turning back into Lauren. "That was so much fun!"
"I'm glad you had fun," Coccinella said.
Lauren would put the Miraculous back into the box, and handed it over. "Thank you so much! Now I've got to go and check on my brother! Take care, Coccinella!"
Coccinella would return the Miraculous to the Guardian, and stepped out, just as the warning beep would be heard, and Tikki came out of the earrings, exhausted.
Juliette would quickly give the Kwami a piece of chocolate chip. "This is all I have at the moment, I'm sorry."
"It's okay. Thank you, Juliette," Tikki replied, eating it.
"I hope you can find Ladybug," Juliette said, taking off the earrings, and giving them to the Kwami.
"I know my holder. She's not hard to find," Tikki said, before flying off.
With Gattopardo...
The final beeps would be heard, as Adrien turned back to normal. He would pull out some camembert. "This is all I have. Sorry, Occa."
"It's okay," Occa took it, and ate it.
Adrien took off the hair clip and gave it back to the ocelot kwami. Then, the kwami flew off.
With Lioness...
Marinette would give Leena a macaroon, as that was all she had on her. Then, she took off the barrette, and gave it to the Kwami, sending it off.
With Nigrum Cattus...
Roland would send Plagg off with the Cat Miraculous, after feeding him a strawberry, apologizing, as it was all he had on him. Plagg would reluctantly take it, and fly off with the ring. Roland would walk back to his place, until Occa appeared.
"Occa!" he let out.
"Roland, I was so worried about you!" Occa would instantly snuggle into his scarf again.
"I've missed you buddy," Roland said.
With Marinette...
The young aspiring designer would be reunited with Tikki, hugging her.
"I missed you so much!" Marinette let out.
"Me too!" Tikki replied.
With Adrien...
The model would happily reunite with Plagg, letting him hide in his jacket.
With Juliette...
"Never disappear like that again, Leena! I was so scared that Hawk Moth got you!" Juliette let out.
"Juliette, I was fine!" Leena let out.
"And how would I know?" Juliette asked.
"Because I found someone to temporarily wield my Miraculous!" Leena let out.
"Really?" Juliette let out.
Leena nodded.
