AN IMPORTANT BREAKTHROUGH FROM SPUD CENTRAL!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

2023 is Disney Company's 100th Anniversary! If things go right, my Smash Bros Mickey crossover will be updated with content all year long!

Yep, that's right. Walt Disney's company is turning 100. And Dungeons and Dragons is turning 50! 2023 is gonna be a huge year for pop culture!

Sorry, I got carried away there. I haven't edited the Five Kingdoms fic in a while now, because I could not decide whether I wanted it to be a novel or an anthology. Now I've finally made up my mind, and chose the anthology collection approach, because I'm just much better at writing a bunch of smaller interconnected stories rather than one big book.

This means all my stories on will be in the style of anthologies, it's my preference. I might finish a short novel, for one of my other titles, The Legend of Genshin... but I can't guarantee for sure.

Here's another question you might be wondering: Would a Disney Smash Bros crossover make a great anthology? Yes! I prefer writing it this way over a typical book. Here's why.

First of all, this is a platform fighting game we're talking about, Smash serves as the medium for this story. That means I'm using the setting and concept of the game to tell this epic tale. (Epic Mickey? Kingdom Hearts?) And because the battles are the highlight and the main focus of the story, the plot won't need to be as extremely complex and in-depth as a full-blown, epic fantasy novel (shout out to Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere.)

All I need is a certain number of relatively short chapters to build up to the moment, and then BOOM, here comes the cartoon fight scene!

The last thing you need to know is that this is meant to be fun to read, with a plot that's easy to follow. Trust me, I've tried and failed miserably at Nanowrimo, that's how I know I'm meant to write anthologies and short stories, and I try not to rush.

Now, before I explain how the story will go after the Imagineers narrowly escape the destruction of Freedomland at the hands of Zalgo, (last chapter,) I must tell you what the Five Kingdoms represent, what Disney characters will be involved in which chapters, and which characters will be heroes or villains (who's an Imagineer and who's a Doom Leaguer.)

In essence, the worldbuilding and cosmology of the Disney Multiverse. I like telling you where the story is set, and who's involved, before actually getting into the story.

The FIVE KINGDOMS, EXPLAINED:

Story Collections for each Kingdom, content to be added as time goes on: These are the different parts of the anthology, in order:

Part 1: Tomorrowland (For A Better Future)

Part 2: Dreamland (A Memory Of Light)

Part 3: Fantasyland (Magic And Monsters)

Part 4: Adventureland (The Great Beyond)

Part 5: Frontierland (Preparing For Travails)

Bonus: Infinity Warriors (The Final Battle)

Freedomland: (REDACTED) (ALL RECORDS EXPUNGED FROM MULTIVERSE HISTORY)

Just kidding, here's the lore.

Characters list: Mickey and Friends, Donald, Goofy, Minnie, Pete, Pluto, Frisk from Undertale, and Sora from Kingdom Hearts, plus all the other characters from the rest of the lists.

Imagineers: Mickey and Friends, Frisk, Sora.

Doom Leaguers: None to speak of on this list. Zalgo's acolytes joined him LONG BEFORE he planned to eradicate Freedomland.

This kingdom does not exist today, as it was completely annihilated by Zalgo the Nameless and his followers, who had hundreds of Death Stars, Starkiller lasers, Super Star Destroyers, Hulkbusters, Asgardian magical artifacts, X-Men Mutant serums, captured Inators (made by the Second Dimension's Dr. Doofenshmirtz,) and many other superweapons.

While it still existed, it was considered the crown jewel of the multiverse, known for being the nicest of the realms to live in, and had a mixture of themes, locations and tropes from the other five kingdoms, including:

The globe-spanning megacities and sprawling spaceports of Tomorrowland (Marvel, Star Wars, Meet the Robinsons, Big Hero 6,)

The enchanted forests, undersea nations, and medieval castles of Fantasyland (Maleficent, The Little Mermaid, Snow White, Bambi,)

The African jungles, Days of the Dead, and ancient Chinese ruins of Adventureland (Tarzan, Coco, Mulan, Indiana Jones,)

The pirate enclaves, colonial towns, lost islands, and wilderness expanses of Frontierland (Peter Pan, Pirates of the Caribbean, Moana, Pocahontas,)

And the surreal, ever-changing inner worlds of Dreamland, where the power of memories and imagination becomes very real (most, if not all Pixar movies fit in this category, Look Up Pixar Theory.)

All this is to say that Freedomland combines the best parts of the whole multiverse, and makes something unique. It is a melting pot of different peoples and species, beings from past, present and future.

Zalgo sought to destroy it because it represented everything he was afraid of: A society where anybody could achieve their dreams if they tried their best, where people's choices mattered, where everyone strove for equality, peace and... well, freedom.

The Imagineer Order was founded in Freedomland to go out into the multiverse and help those folks who aren't as fortunate, and this was the cherry on top.

And of course, High King Mickey was the current ruler of Freedomland when Zalgo arrived and brought everything crashing down. It's unclear why the Mouse himself, the most important leader in the Disney multiverse, wasn't killed by the eldritch abomination. Perhaps the Nameless Evil wants something from the High King, something that could put him one step ahead in the battle for the cosmos...

Tomorrowland:

We cannot change the past, but we can alter the future with our own actions.

Characters list: Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, R2-D2, C-3PO, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Grand Moff Tarkin, Emperor Palpatine, Spider-Man, Captain America, Thor, the Hulk, Black Widow, Iron Man, Thanos and his minions, Wreck-It-Ralph, Black Panther, Hiro Hamada, Baymax, Wasabi, Go-Go Tomago, Honey Lemon, Fred, Phineas and Ferb, the Robinsons (from the future)

Imagineers:Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, R2-D2, C-3PO, Chewbacca, Spider-Man, Captain America, Thor, the Hulk, Black Widow, Iron Man, Wreck-It-Ralph, Black Panther, Hiro Hamada, Baymax, Wasabi, Go-Go Tomago, Honey Lemon, Fred, Phineas and Ferb, the Robinsons (from the future)

Doom Leaguers: Darth Vader, Palpatine, Tarkin, Thanos and servants, 2nd Dimension Dr. Doofenshmirtz, Yokai, Turbo

Tomorrowland is a futuristic realm of high technology and magical science, where the laws of physics have been amended numerous times, and various things once considered impossible are now part of everyday life. Hovercars, airspeeders and lightning railroads crisscross around the towering buildings of Milky Way Metropolis, which stretch high into the atmosphere, making the skies crowded in a way that people in the Real World would find completely alien.

Speaking of aliens, more than 20 million sentient species besides baseline humans inhabit Tomorrowland, all of which have some presence in the crowded megacities. Just as incredible, some animals have been given special collars that make them just as smart as humans, and artificial intelligence is very commonplace, no one bats an eye at droids and robots in the workplace.

To deal with the enormous problems of pollution from such a massive industrial complex, trash and emissions are ejected into deep space where they can do no harm.

Superhero communities keep watch for highly evolved criminals wherever trouble may be, and massive armies of clones and battle droids parade through the streets on Patriot Day, the kingdom's biggest holiday.

Unfortunately, Zalgo seeks to subjugate Tomorrowland next, because he's got a plan related to 6 colorful rocks that he needs to bend the multiverse to his will... and Tomorrowland hides two of them.

Just me trying to come up with a goal for my main antagonist. If you watched the Marvel movies, you know what Zalgo is trying to find.

Dreamland:

Those who are not forgotten... aren't really gone, even if they've died. Remember those who came before you, for cherished memories are no small thing. You only truly die when no one remembers you.

Characters: All the Pixar ones. Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Lightning McQueen, Wall-E, Arlo the Apatosaurus, Remy the Rat, Mike Wazowski, Sully, the Circus Bugs, Marlin and Dory from Finding Nemo, Merida from Brave, the Incredibles

Imagineers: Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Lightning McQueen, Wall-E, Arlo the Apatosaurus, Miguel, Remy the Rat, Mike Wazowski, Sully, the Circus Bugs, Marlin and Dory from Finding Nemo, Merida from Brave

Doom Leaguers: Emperor Zurg, Lotso, the Autopilot (Wall-E,) Syndrome, Pterodactyls, Randall Boggs, Hopper, Mor'du (Brave) Ernesto De La Cruz (Coco)

Magic and the power of imagination flows through the entire Disney multiverse, but the effects of these forces are most strongly felt in the kingdom of Dreamland.

This is a place where animals have developed human-level intelligence after being left alone for so long, sentient machines have served a futuristic version of humanity for millennia, monsters scare children in the middle of the night to generate fright-based electricity for their civilization's needs, toys are brought to life by the feelings of their young owners, cars have gained personalities from their deceased drivers, and the undead build grand glowing cities in the reaches of the afterlife, among other, stranger things.

But all of these spectacular accomplishments could not have been achieved without a specific kind of magic- the power of memory. The citizens and denizens of Dreamland have a common belief that even after a person or individual has died, they aren't really gone, unless they are forgotten. The true death is when nobody remembers you.

In Dreamland, memory is a power source, a catalyst for growth and evolution. Dinosaurs would have never developed agriculture, rats would not know how to cook, fish would forget about caring for their offspring, machines would not be able to fulfill their designated roles, toys would not have the capability to bring joy to children, and monsters would not be able to scare children to fuel their economy, if they had not looked to the past, their forebears, for advice.

And the best advice is to simply improve on whatever your predecessors did, thus keeping evolution going.

In a nutshell, Dreamland is the popular Pixar Theory, which connects all the Disney Pixar animated movies, but realized into a plan for a crossover story.

Time to bring the Pixar characters together! If you have any questions, look up the Pixar Theory.

Fantasyland:

Magic is sadly, not present in what you could call "the Real World..." but then again, any sufficiently advanced science is indistinguishable from magic. So maybe the impossible will become possible one day.

Characters: Elsa and Anna from Frozen, Moana, the Forest Critters from Bambi, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent, Ariel, Raya, Aladdin, Hercules, Pinocchio, Judy Hopps, Peter Pan, Tiana, Rapunzel, Mulan, Simba, Robin Hood, Aslan.

Imagineers: Elsa and Anna from Frozen, Moana, the Forest Critters from Bambi, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty, Ariel, Raya, Aladdin, Hercules, Pinocchio, Judy Hopps, Peter Pan, Tiana, Rapunzel, Mulan, Simba, Robin Hood, Aslan and the Pevensie Siblings

Doom Leaguers: Prince Hans, Té Ka, Kakamora, Maleficent, Ursula, Jafar, Mother Gothel, Captain Hook, the White Witch, Scar, the Druun, Dr. Facilier, Hades, Shan Yu and the Mongolian Empire, Sephiroth, the Heartless

NOTE: This character roster overlaps with the ones in Adventureland and Frontierland. Many of the same characters will be used in three different story arcs and their respective battle scenes.

Perhaps the least explored of the Kingdoms in the Disney Multiverse, Fantasyland is exactly what its title implies: A realm where magic dominates, and technology is of secondary importance.

Instead of using traditional power plants, generators and fossil fuels, all useful energy for the economy and civilization is provided by arcane sources, like burning rainbow-colored crystals, soaking different kinds of powdered metals in water, or just relying on more primitive methods like water wheels, steam engines, and beasts of burden, such as horses.

Fantasyland is the exact opposite of Tomorrowland, a place where technological development has ground to a halt, and people are perfectly content with the progress and development they have already made. Whereas Tomorrowland is constantly innovating and experimenting, Fantasyland is stuck in the swords-and-sorcery era, and the highest level of advancement came with what could only be called an Industrial Revolution. And things staying almost unchanged, an eternity of stagnancy, is what the citizens of this Kingdom prefer.

Magic doesn't need to become more advanced, or at least that's what folks here believe.

There are exceptions to this rule, though- the city of Zootopia, populated by anthropomorphic animals, has taken on elements from Tomorrowland and become an efficient, modernized metropolis with districts for every Earthly biome.

Another theme of Fantasyland, one that it actually has in common with Tomorrowland, is the impossible becoming possible.

Talking animals are seldom rare (there is a common rule in the Multiverse that you should only eat things that don't talk in a human sense,) sticks and branches can be made into wands, with spells useful both in peacetime and in war, people can fly on enchanted broomsticks, witches brew potions that can cure possibly any kind of disease and strengthen a person's body in a plethora of ways, numerous creatures can spew volatile compounds (like dragons and salamanders) or grant wishes with certain rules (like fairies and genies,) and that's just a handful of possibilities.

The most visibly stark contrast between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, however, is probably the status of the ecosystem in the two kingdoms. Fantasyland has large areas of forest, grassland, and mountains completely intact, whereas all the nature left in Tomorrowland is cultivated in gargantuan farms to feed quintillions of people.

This dichotomy has led certain inhabitants of the two kingdoms to develop animosity towards each other, but this isn't the norm, as most people actually respect the choices and lifestyles of others. Tomorrowland needs its eco-farms to provide sustenance for its massive population, while Fantasyland needs its wild lands as a home for magical creatures.

Speaking of wild lands...

Frontierland and Adventureland:

There should be no boundaries to human endeavor. We are all different. However bad life may seem, there is always something you can do, and succeed at. While there's life, there is hope.

Characters: Most of the same ones from Fantasyland, with the addition of the cast of Alice In Wonderland, King Arthur's Knights, Indiana Jones, Captain Jack Sparrow, Tarzan of the Apes,Rango, Milo Thatch (finding Atlantis,) and Jim Hawkins (Treasure Planet.)

Imagineers: Alice, Indiana Jones, Jack Sparrow, Tarzan, Rango, Milo Thatch, Jim Hawkins

Doom Leaguers: The Queen of Hearts, René Belloq and the Nazi Crew, Rattlesnake Jake, Davy Jones, Clayton the Poacher

This pair of Kingdoms essentially represent the same concept, and are two sides of the same coin. Frontierland and Adventureland are both sparsely populated areas of the Multiverse, with vast expanses of empty wilderness, ancient ruins, and outer space.

Explorers and adventurers naturally abound in this uncharted territory, seeking gold, glory, and thrills, but nobody has been able to put all of it into a map, since the countryside is seemingly never-ending, and constantly expanding.

Spaceships, airships, trains and regular old sailing ships are all used to travel through the reaches of Adventureland, and many colonial outposts and frontier towns have been established in places far, far away. If this colonization keeps up, the two most unexplored Kingdoms in the Disney Multiverse could potentially become urban nightmares and seriously damage their biospheres.

But for now, the Adventure Frontiers remain a realm of cowboys, Indians, pirates, pioneers, knights, and other intrepid individuals, always competing for attention and trying to make a name for themselves.

And that's the way people like Peter Pan, Jack Sparrow and Indiana Jones would rather live their lives.

Note from the author: Geez, it's 2023 already! And almost six months have passed since I first started putting fan fiction on the Internet! As for what will happen when the Millennium Falcon's crew finds the Fairy Godmother and has that crucial conversation, I'm still planning on it.

Why am I delaying? Because I'm juggling multiple stories at once. I've updated Starhammer 50k quite frequently with new content, and in January, there will be a ridiculous fight scene in that story taking place on Hoth from Star Wars.

And I still need to plan out my Genshin Impact Zelda crossover, A Tale of Two Heroes. 30,000 words sounds manageable, I'm one-fifth of the way there.

Again, sorry for not updating my Disney Smash Bros fic in a while. I'm a very slow writer. I hope you like my stuff, and I'll be drawing my attention from SH50K to Five Kingdoms, especially since 2023 is Disney Company's 100th Anniversary.

Good day, and happy new year!
