Adam's Way

Chapter 7

The morning of the inquiry arrived. Everyone took their usual places on the podium, except for Teela who stood off to the right side with Teela'na. The room was packed with Royal members of the court and some servants, the Royal Scribes sat at a table in front of the podium so everything that was said could be documented. It was a cool day outside but the room was warm with the heat of all the people. Randor stood up to begin the proceedings.

"Good people of Eternia, we are all here today because of rumors being spread around the kingdoms. We will tell you the truth of what happened and then you may ask some questions if you have any. Man at Arms you have the floor." King Randor moved to sit down as Duncan came forward.

"You all were given official statement saying the events that happened in Eternos." Duncan continued. "Teela, Captain of the Royal Guard, was almost killed by Skeletor. Castle Greyskull is no longer where it was. Prince Adam did fight Skeletor and did capture him in his true form of Prince Keldor." A sound of "Oh's" was heard in the room. "A tribunal will be held in 1 months time for him. We will answer questions one at a time."

"Is Prince Adam He-Man?" Was shouted and many Royals were demanding an answer. Adam stepped forward. "I was He-Man, I am no longer. When Skeletor was defeated He-Man became unnecessary and the power taken away with Greyskull. The how and why I became He-man is a part of my destiny and I will not share that with you at this time. I take full responsibility for my aloof behavior as Prince Adam while I was hiding my secret from everyone. I kept my secret safe to protect my family."

"There are rumors of a mysterious woman. Who is she? Where did she come from?" A woman asked. Adam looked to Teela'na and motioned her up to the podium. Adam addressed the crowd. "I would like to introduce you to Teela'na the former sorceress of Greyskull. She is here now because the castle released her of her duty and because of her service to Eternia she is now Lady Teela'na of Eternos." Teela'na did not know what to do so she curtsied to the crowd. A round of applause sounded in the room, showing their approval. "Are you going to marry her?" Someone asked. Teela'na blushed. "No, I think of Prince Adam as I would my own son."

"What shall we do without He-Man?" Another question came forward. Adam stood proudly. "What we did before He-Man, rule our kingdoms justly and wisely, with honor and truth. When we work together we can accomplish many things." Applause rose from the crowd. Adam led Teela'na off the podium so she could return to Teela's side.

Duncan looked to King Randor and Randor nodded. With that Duncan stood in front of Adam and said, "I am sure you each have many more questions forthcoming but there is not enough time to answer them all. Formal inquires can be made by appointment with the king or queen's secretaries. This session is now adjourned." King Randor and Queen Marlena stood up and left the throne room with Duncan, Adam, Teela, and Teela'na following.
