When They Come For Me

If there was an issue with Ruby's current state of living, it would be how the fact that her uncle Qrow would normally invite his friends over on the weekends and they generally stay up late at night getting loud and drunk.
Even in her own bedroom, there was nothing she could do to kill the sound of grown adult men, getting drunk and stupid as he buried her head in her pillow.
Looking at her phone she saw it was 3 in the morning before she whined, hoping she'd get some sleep before having to go to work this morning.
Within the next 10 minutes, things began to quiet down as she could finally get some rest and pray she's able to do her job in peace.
Time Skip
By some miracle, Ruby was able to get out of bed, and get herself on time to the Uzumaki residence, where she was barely keeping her eyes open while teaching Naruto his US history.
"Hey Ruby, are you all right" asked a concerned Naruto, "Mm, no, not really" groaned Ruby as she held her head.
"What happened" asked Naruto, "My uncle had his stupid friends over and they all got drunk and loud till 3 in the morning" said Ruby as she massaged her head.
Feeling bad for the girl, Naruto set his book down, and tried to look for some coffee to wake Ruby up.
"Naruto, what are you doing" asked Ruby, "I'm looking for coffee, but I don't think we have any" said Naruto.
"We're in the middle of your lessons, so sit back down so we can study" said Ruby as she was getting progressively more grumpy.
"Well it's hard to feel motivated when you're kinda dozing off" said Naruto as he couldn't find any coffee in the house.
"Sit tight for a minute" said Naruto as he ran into his room and got changed before greeting Ruby again.
"All right, let's go get you some coffee" said Naruto, "No! We're not going to get me some coffee, you're in the middle of studying" said Ruby.
"You know as much as I know I'm done no later than 1, so let's take a quick study break, and get you some coffee" said Naruto as Ruby banged her head on the table.
Unable to argue and not wanting to take her frustration on her pupil, Ruby shook her head into her notebook for a minute as Naruto poked and prodded the side of her head.
"Come on, you need this more than me" said Naruto as Ruby didn't respond other than her extending her hand to the boy as a gesture to help her up off the table.
Literally pulling her out the house, the pair walked all the way to Starbucks, which was a little farther away from Naruto's house, but the end result was worth it since, Ruby got herself an iced matcha with extra whip on top along with a cheesecake brownie.
"Oh my god~, I needed this" said Ruby as she had the look of pure bliss on her face, "Told you" said Naruto with a smug smile as he took a sip from his hot chocolate.
"Thank you, I mean it, even though this isn't what I'm paid to do, thank you" said Ruby with a smile, "No worries, I won't tell my mom if you don't tell her" said Naruto as Ruby agreed to keep this secret.
"So~, what does your uncle do for a living anyway" asked Naruto, "He mainly works in construction, he makes a living doing elevator repairs and installations" said Ruby.
"That sounds cool" said Naruto, "It probably is, I mean it keeps him busy what with all the new building being made in downtown" said Ruby.
"Is there a Mrs. uncle in his life" asked Naruto, "Nope" chuckled Ruby as this peaked the boys curiosity.
"He's got as much charm with the ladies as prickly cactus trying to hug a pillow" said Ruby, "Hm, I can relate to that" said Naruto.
"Don't put yourself down, you're more better looking than my uncle, you don't smell like an old man or a brewery, and you've still got a chance to graduate and finish high school and go to college" said Ruby.
"Are you planning to go to college" asked Naruto, "In a few years I plan to get my associates in possibly child psychology, maybe even join the United States Rangers to help pay for it, who knows" said Ruby.
"Wait you want to join the military" asked Naruto, "Kinda, I mean no matter which branch you enter they cover for your college, and I get to shoot guns, which you know guns are cool" said Ruby.
"I hope you don't, cause I'll seriously miss you if you get drafted" said Naruto, "That's sweet of you to say, but I'm not exactly blessed with a lot of options in my life" said Ruby.
"You know there's a lot of things they don't tell you about trying to live in the real world and away from your parents" sighed Ruby as she took a sip of her iced matcha.
"Ruby, why did you decide to break up with your parents" asked Naruto, "That's…" began Ruby as she was at a loss for words after being asked that question.
"…A question for another day, I appreciate the Starbucks, but you're going to have to do more than to get me to sing like that" said Ruby, "All right, you're not ready to talk about it" said Naruto as they continued their way back home and continued with his study.
Later
Once Naruto was done with school work, he insisted that Ruby stayed over and take a nap on the couch, and as much as the girl would like to argue, she did admit to feeling pretty fatigue these last 24 hours.
Giving her some much needed privacy, Naruto was back in his room, listening to his music and playing with his old Gameboy Advance his mother bought him from their trip to the pulga and just chilled in his room till he heard a knock on his bedroom door.
"Naruto, I'm home" called Kushina as that was the boys' to get up.
"Welcome back mom, how was work" asked Naruto, "Tiring" groaned Kushina as she began to take her sweater off.
"Momma's going to take some me time before we go get some take out, ok" said Kushina, "Sounds good mom" said Naruto as Kushina finally retreated her bedroom.
Seeing as she didn't mention Ruby, Naruto went to check on the redhead and figured now was a good time to wake her up.
"What" groaned a tired Ruby as Naruto began to nudge her awake, "Come on Ruby, you slept for 3 hours now, my moms here already" said Naruto.
Rubbing her eyes, Ruby let out a tired yawn as she stretched.
"Mm, what time is it now" asked Ruby, "It's almost 6" said Naruto.
"All right, time to go home now" said Ruby, "If you want I can ask my mom to give you a ride" said Naruto.
"No, I don't want to disturb Kushina" said Ruby as she sat for a minute before going to fetch her belongings.
"Can I at least walk you to the bus stop" asked Naruto, "Ok" said Ruby dismissively as they slid their shoes on and walked to the bus stop.
"You're going to be all right" asked Naruto, "I'll make it somehow" said Ruby as they were getting closer towards the bus stop when Naruto saw some familiar faces up ahead, causing the boy to stop in his tracks and hide.
"What are you doing" asked Ruby, "Those kids up ahead, they're Sasuke and his fucking goons he calls friends" said Naruto.
Turning her head to the group of teens that were chilling outside on the corner of the street, and just loitering.
"…You're going to be alright" asked Ruby, "Yeah, I'll be good, they didn't see me" said Naruto as he looked behind him and remembered that 7-11 was just behind him.
"They didn't see me" said Naruto as he creeped back and made his way inside the 7-11, without saying a word to Ruby, which did not left a good impression on the girl.
"Naruto, what the hell are you trying to do" asked Ruby as she followed Naruto all the way to the back where the liquor store had it's condiments.
"I'm going to get back at that prick and his friends for jumping me and getting me in trouble" said Naruto, "Are you serious?" asked Ruby in disbelief.
"Dead serious, don't try to stop me" said Naruto as he began to grab bottles of mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, tobacco and began to search for some pickles.
"What you're doing is stupid and will get your ass kicked" said Ruby, "So what" said Naruto dismissively as he went and grabbed himself a jar of pickles and brought it to the counter.
"Here you go man, how much do I owe you" Naruto asked his bro on the counter, "That'll be $22.37" said the associate as Naruto began to search for his wallet, but was stopped when Ruby pulled out her card and paid for the products.
"Can you give us 2 bags" asked Ruby as the store associate obliged to Ruby's request as Naruto stood their dumbfounded as to this girls actions.
"What?" asked Ruby, "You're… helping me?" asked a confused Naruto.
"Yeah, honestly, from what you told me about Sasuke, and how he and his friends seriously hurt you over this weekend, it sounds to me this kid needs to be brought down a peg" said Ruby as she took their bag of goods outside.
"So… what do you plan to do with this" asked Ruby, "I'm going to make a homemade stink bomb is what I'm going to do" said Naruto as he mixed the condiments into a messy and smelly mass of jargon.
"Wow, where'd you learn to make one of these" asked Ruby, "YouTube, along with How to be a Ninja" said Naruto as he got Ruby to snort a laugh.
"All right, let's do this" said Naruto as he finished making 2 bags worth of stink bombs and decided to hand one to Ruby.
"Ruby, I need you to go turn around the corner, right behind the 7-11 is an apartment complex, and this is where I need you to be…" said Naruto as he whispered the plan out to Ruby.
"This plan of yours is going to get you killed, once they come and get you" said Ruby, "When they come for me, I'll be gone" assured Naruto.
"Now hurry up, I'll stay right here for another 2 minutes to give you a head start" said Naruto as he peered over the wall to see that Sasuke and his friends haven't moved from their spot.
Once the time was up, Naruto walked towards the line of sight in front of Sasuke in his friends and caught their attention.
"Naruto, what the hell are you doing out here?" asked Sasuke, "I live around here, so try to catch up motherfucker!" exclaimed Naruto as he tossed the stink sack towards Sasuke and his friends, where it erupted and covered 2 of them, not counting Sasuke.
"Get his ass!" shouted Sasuke as those unaffected began to make chase, while the 2 that were hit began to puke where they stood.
Leading them around the corner, a quarter down the block, Naruto ran into a random apartment, where he continued to lead them across the parking lot, where he went shot himself inside the dumping area, and closed the door tight from his end.
"You've got nowhere to run and nowhere to hide loser, so come out here and take your beating like a man" barked Sasuke as Naruto peered through the slit of the door, and smiled in satisfaction.
"Hey Sasuke!" called Ruby as she stood atop the roofing of the parking lot, with her stink sack in hand.
"This is for jumping my friend" said Ruby as she tossed the stink bomb on top of the boy as it erupted and splattered over everyone, getting everyone to gag and retch.
Stripping himself of his shirt, Sasuke began to puke on the ruined article of clothes, unable to make a threat or follow up as he and his friends began to run away.
"Hahaha, that was great" said a giddy Naruto, "I just hope I don't risk running into them and- oh god, that reeks" gagged Ruby as she had no idea how potent that stink bomb Naruto made.
"I don't think we've got to worry about them, chances are they're running back home and scrubbing themselves with 409" said Naruto as he pinched the bridge of his nose as he lead Ruby out the area and back on the streets.
"Ugh, that's going to suck coming to work everyday smelling that" said Ruby as Naruto continued to walk her to the bus stop.
"True, but it was worth it you got to admit" said Naruto as they patiently waited at the bus stop together.
"Hey Ruby, thanks for helping me get back at Sasuke" said Naruto, "It's fine, we had guys like that back in school as well who needed to be brought down a peg" said Ruby with a smile.
"Hey Naruto, if I asked for your help, think you can help me get back on someone" asked Ruby out of curiosity, "Sure, who's the sorry asshole who needs a kick in the pants" said Naruto.
"I'll tell you about her tomorrow, my bus is finally here" said Ruby as she and Naruto looked at each other and smiled before bidding each other good night at long last.
Walking back home, Naruto felt satisfied over tonight's transgressions, as he made it back home where he saw his mom emerging from her bedroom.
"Where did you ran off to young man" asked Kushina, "I was walking Ruby to the bus stop" said Naruto.
"Wait Ruby was here for long and why" asked Kushina as she did not expect the young girl try to scam her this soon.
"Chill mom, she was just super tired from last night because her uncle had a house party that went on till like 3 in the morning, so after we were done, I told her she can chill on the couch and catch up on some sleep" said Naruto.
"Is this the truth?" asked Kushina, "Yeah" said Naruto as Kushina looked him dead in the eye for a minute before dropping the matter.
"Well so long as she's not planning to collect these last few hours into her work day, I guess I don't mind her taking a break here and keeping you company" said Kushina.
"Sweet, so where we going for dinner" asked Naruto, "We're going to Taco Bell, that's where we're going" said Kushina as Naruto cheered for getting to eat Mexican tonight.
