The weekend had finally arrived, and this time around Ruby was excited to finally meet her sister after so long as she patiently waited inside of a Starbucks enjoying a hot chocolate.

Spotting a familiar motorist pulling into the parking lot, Ruby beamed up as they parked their bike before removing their helmet, showing that it was a woman with long blond hair and lilac colored eyes as she began to enter the establishment.

"Hey sis, it's been a while" greeted Yang, "Yeah it is, no thanks to you" said Ruby, "Hey now, you know I too got a part time job as well you know".

"Speaking of work, how's life treating you and your student, he ain't hitting or perving on you or anything" asked Yang, "Yang! He's fine, Naruto understands the importance of this job of mine and is a well behaved kid, for the most part" said Ruby.

"All right, spill the deet's on this kid then, what makes him misbehave" asked Yang as her interest was peeked, "He's a practical prankster, he actually showed me how to make a stink bomb out of condiments and a bottle of gherkin, and we got to use it on a couple of kids that jumped him" explained Ruby.

"Whoa back up, this kid your teaching got jumped" asked Yang, "Yeah, honestly he may look like a problem child on the surface, but really Naruto is just a misunderstood kid" said Ruby.

"So his name is Naruto huh?" asked Yang, "Yeah, and before you think about trying to confront him on your own, just remember that if he brings this up with his mom, I risk getting fired if you offend him" said Ruby.

"Hey, he ain't trying to cop a feel or inappropriately hit on you, so no need to give me the 3rd degree now" Yang said defensively.

"Yeah well, past experience says otherwise" said Ruby as Yang flinched since Ruby could count a few instances where Yang may have escalated a situation because she decided to but in when it wasn't necessary.

"Anyways, how's life with uncle Qrow?" asked Yang, "Not bad, I mean I wish he didn't come home drunk and loud, and occasionally bringing back his friends from his job, but otherwise just be glad I have a roof over my head and a bed to sleep on" said Ruby.

"I guess that's good to hear… dad and my mom are good by the way, dad misses you everyday" asked Yang, "Didn't ask, don't really care to know" stated Ruby.

"Sigh, if that's how you feel then" said Yang as she and Ruby began to exit the Starbucks and went to mount her bike for fun on this cloudy day.

Passing her sister a spare helmet, Yang began to exit the parking lot and proceeded to drive her and Ruby towards the most isolated part of the city of Mountain View towards Shoreline Blvd.

How isolated, it's only known attractions, besides Shoreline Park, are the AMC 16, a Golds Gym, and a few miscellaneous shops in between.

Really what makes this place significant in 2010 was the fact that there was the ever important Shoreline Amphitheater, known to host some of the greatest venues, including the Honda Civic Tour, Warp Tour, or any big name stand alone artist.

Unfortunately we're still in late winter to even think about Warp Tour, so really it was for one other thing for Ruby and Yang to do.

"Here we are sis" said Yang, "Your job?" asked Ruby as they stood outside the Laser Quest, an indoor laser tag arena.

"Hell yeah, come on, we can play as many round we want, and it's on the house" said Yang as Ruby can smile, "Sounds good, just be ready to praise me with never ending adulation" said Ruby.

"We'll see about that sis" said Yang as the 2 stepped in and readied to play for the next few hours.

Time Skip

Inside of a TOGO's sandwiches we see both Yang and Ruby, tired, sweating, and the latter a little sore and bruised after 2 and half hours of laser tag.

"You feeling good there kid" asked Yang, "I'm good" said Ruby as she poured some ice out of her cup and began to put in a napkin before pressing the improvised ice pack on her knee.

"Be grateful I was there vouching for you, and I worked there, otherwise you would've been in trouble" said Yang since throughout their whole time, Ruby ran around the arena not only really fast, but also sliding forward, and jumping backwards like she was some sort of videogame character.

"And I thank you for that along with paying for lunch" Ruby said with a smirk, "Brat" said Yang as they continued to eat in silence for a minute before Yang got to talking.

"So, what's new sis, what's on your agenda for the future" asked Yang, "Hmm, I was thinking about maybe get my passport done and do a semester out in say like Japan or the UK" said Ruby, "A semester of what?" asked Yang.

"I mean, I still plan to go to college, even if it's junior college, but I also want to see the world you know" said Ruby, "I hear you sis" said Yang with a sigh.

"What about you, what's new" asked Ruby, "Just trying to enjoy my senior year, before I decide to take a whole year to myself, and then I see from there" said Yang.

"Sounds nice" said Ruby with a sigh as she wouldn't say it, but envied Yang's life at the moment.

Granted she is grateful to be given such benefits, and opportunities, but every now again, she always thinks about what could've been.

"Come on, let's pass by a Safeway and get you some painkillers, and then I can drop you off" said Yang, "Sounds good" said Ruby with a smile.

After dropping off her sister, Yang would continue to drive down the street for the next few miles before pulling up towards the side of the road on the historic El Camino Real as she began to pull out her phone and dial someone up.

"Hello dad… yeah I finished dropping her off, she's good… yeah we played laser tag and got lunch is all… yeah, she didn't care to know, sorry… this time she mentioned about wanting to not only go to college, but do a semester overseas… I mean she's at least thinking about staying in school, so that's got to stand for something right… I know, I know… no worries, I'll keep you updated about her… I'll tell you more about it right now when I get back home kay… kay, love you too dad" said Yang before finally hanging up.

Letting out a tired sigh, Yang's thoughts drifted back to Ruby, as she worries about her more than anyone else.

Yes, she has a roof over her head, yes she's doing good at work, and is keeping a social life to an extent, but the issue comes down to her lack of direction and at time maturity.

While there's no argument that Ruby is plenty mature for her age, she's still a kid in not only Yang's eyes, but the behavior she exhibits whenever they're together, which Yang has been paying very close attention towards whenever they hangout.

Granted theirs nothing wrong with that as seeing Ruby likes this, brings a sense of comfort to Yang and a feeling of nostalgia of how things use to be, plus Ruby should feel like a kid every now and again, especially around her family.

Really the big issue was her lack of direction, this has been evident since she decided to emancipate from her family, since she was willing to work and live in apartment by herself with government aid, but that plan was scrapped when Qrow stepped up and offered her a place to stay and helped her to get a job.

Much better examples would be her going wishy washy as to what she wants to do with her life, since it's clear Ruby has no idea what she wants to do.

One day she's talking about joining law enforcement once she turns 18, then there was her plans on becoming a teacher, or wanting to sign up for the military, and today she's talking about continuing school, while doing a semester in a foreign country.

This really concerns not only Yang, but everyone else who cares for her, as she fears that sort of life may lead to Ruby being a burnout, which may lead her to a life of a drifter, and finally a bum on the streets.

Granted this was all speculation, and you could argue her imagination was getting the best of her, but Yang was Ruby's older sister, and well she has every right and reason to worry for her wellbeing.

Not wanting to stay on the side of the road forever, Yang hopped back on her bike, and decided to ride off to Valco Mall, which wasn't far from her home in Cupertino as she knew her dad and her mom were still out and about somewhere in San Jose.

A necessary distraction to keep her sister out of her mind, but not out of her heart.

Sweet, here you guys go, thanks for being ever so patient, I recently started working, and I think I mentioned this last time, but I was in a car accident, though that's behind me now.

Still the after stress is what kept me from writing, as I kid you not I had a pained muscle in my lower back literally caused by the stress of the event, that I really couldn't think of anything.

But like I said the situations been resolved, and I'm just happy to be working cause honestly the worst place you want to live at right now is be a citizen here in the greater bay area, cause hunting for a job is nye impossible and what's it, but the less I say, the less political I get, cause honestly no one friggin cares.
