Avalyn picked up her ringing phone. It was a hidden number but she already had a feeling who might be behind the call. Her brother Dean was the only one trying to disguise his number whenever he remembered she existed and he wanted something out of her. She hit the green button and put the phone to her ear.

"Hello?" She asked.
"We have your brother," a man said.

She had never heard the voice before but she didn't care who it might be.

"Good, you can keep him," she said.
"We're gonna kill him," he said.
"And I should care because?" She asked.

There was an awkward silence for a few seconds before the man cleared his throat. The voice that had sounded so confident a few seconds before suddenly didn't sound all that firm anymore.

"I said, we're gonna kill your brother Dean," he said.
"I heard you the first time," she said.
"We want money," he said.
"We all do," she said.
"1 million dollars for his life," he said.

She started laughing and she could hear the man's breathing take up. Clearly she wasn't responding the way he thought she would.

"What's your name? Just give me a fake one to call you if you're scared," she said.
"I'm not scared," he said.
"Name, please," she said.
"Randy," he said.
"Listen, Randy, I don't give a fuck about my brother. You would actually do me a favor if you kill him," she said.

Another awkward pause of silence and once again he cleared his throat.

"I don't think you understand," he said. "We're gonna..."
"You're gonna kill Dean. Blah blah blah," she said. "Just fucking do it already and stop calling me."

She hung up and walked over to the window. Roman and Seth were outside washing their cars. She knocked on the window and beckoned them inside. They came in seconds later and she held up her phone.

"Dean's being held captive," Avalyn said.
"And?" Seth asked.
"They want 1 million dollars for his life," Avalyn said.
"He's not worth that kind of money," Roman laughed.
"I know but this is our chance. I know Dean. He'll make them call back. And Randy sounded desperate," Avalyn said.
"Randy?" Roman asked.

Her phone started ringing again. Once again a blocked number. Seth ran to a dresser and opened a drawer. He pulled out a device and ran back to her. He plugged the device into her phone and nodded at her. She hit the green button and put her phone on speaker.

"Randy?" Avalyn asked.
"It's Dean," Dean said. "They're gonna kill me, Avalyn. They're not fucking around."
"Neither am I," Avalyn said.
"You can't let them fucking kill me," Dean said.
"Why not? If the roles were reversed, you wouldn't come running to my aid either. You would ask to be there to pull the trigger," Avalyn said.
"They're gonna fucking kill me!" Dean shouted. "Avalyn, please! Help me out just this fucking once! You owe me that much!"

Avalyn looked over at Seth and Roman. Seth nodded and held up his thumb. The call had lasted long enough for his device to figure out where the call came from.

"Hang up," Roman whispered.
"Tell them to arrange your funeral as well. I'm not paying for that. I gotta go," Avalyn said.
"Avalyn!" Dean screamed. "Don't you fucking hang..."

Avalyn hung up before Dean could finish that sentence. She sighed and looked at the two men in front of her.

"Randy," Seth said. "It must be Randy Orton. I'm sure the phone number will match him or someone in his life."
"What do you wanna do?" Roman asked.
"I've been waiting for this moment for a long time," Avalyn said. "If it's Randy Orton, he'll call back. Once he smells money, he keeps pushing until he gets it or can't see another way out. As long as they got an open line to me and Dean is still alive to talk his case, Randy's gonna try and break me into paying."

Seth nodded and walked over to his laptop.

"I'll run the number," Seth said. "Soon enough we'll know who it is and where they are."
