Summary: A tragedy unravels the Weasley Family and the Wizarding World forever, but with the use of a time turner can one Weasley save them all?

Chapter 15

Lex and Harry apparated to the street in front of Ron and Hermione's house. Harry was still in shock upon learning that Lex was actually his niece, and not only that but that his niece had come back to save the lives of his two best friends and their other future children.

As they slowly moved up to the front door, Harry grabbed Lex, stopping her before they reached the door.

"Are you going to tell them the truth? About who you are?" Harry asked. They had not decided that prior to arrival, if they would tell Ron or Hermione everything.

"I suppose I have to...my dad at least for now," Lex said. She knew telling her parents the truth could complicate things more, and yet part of her wanted to so badly. She wanted her parents to know who she was. She knew they weren't the parents that had raised her, not her anyway, but she so badly missed her parents that the thought of just being able to call them "Mum" and "Dad" was so appealing.

Harry nodded. He knew Ron and Hermione would need to know the whole truth if they were to really understand the situation they were all in.

Lex waited a moment to see if her uncle had anything else to ask. When she realized he didn't she moved up toward the front door, using the counter charm to unlock it and enter the front door.

When she and Harry entered they were immediately met with Ron and Scorpius holding up wands in their face. Upon realizing it was Lex and Harry they both lowered their wands.

"Why didn't you just floo back?" Ron asked.

Harry looked to Lex for an answer. Truthfully, there was no reason. He was just so completely mind-boggles he just followed Lex lead.

"Well, we wanted to speak with you in private...or I did." Lex glanced around to see if her mother was awake.

"Hermione went up to bed," Ron said, as if he could read Lex's mind.

Lex nodded glancing up the stairs as if to confirm Hermione had gone to bed. While she was ready to tell both her parents everything, she knew it would be easier to start with her father and that they would be able to convince Hermione of the truth if Ron could help. She expected her mother to be skeptical at best.

"What is it?" Ron asked, looking between Harry and Lex.

"Let's go talk in the kitchen..." Lex said, moving away from the stairs and down the hall.

Ron, Scorpius, and Harry followed after her, joining her at the kitchen table. A long moment of silence followed as Lex contemplated how to explain it all.

"Somebody tell me what the bloody hell is going on..." Ron finally said, on edge from the glances Lex and Harry were passing back and forth.

"Well, it's a long story but...well let's starts with what we know about the prophecy and what Kingsley believes to be true...which is that the prophecy isn't exactly about Hermione but rather...well...your child, which is why they are after Hermione's blood...or rather the baby's blood..." Lex started.

"Kingsley believes that's why they took Hermione's blood from St. Mungo's originally the that the sample wasn't enough...or possibly didn't have enough of the baby's blood in it..." Harry added on.

"Okay...so that's why Goyle was told to keep Hermione alive," Ron realized.

"It does fit the theory..." Lex nodded.

"Ok so then what do we do?" Ron asked.

Harry and Lex looked at each other before turning back to Ron, unsure of how to explain the next part.

"Well, first we would have to get a hold of the prophecy. If we're able to figure out what it actually says, we may be able to stop the attacks on Hermione and whatever else is coming..." Harry said.

Ron nodded slowly, that part made sense.

"But wouldn't we still need blood to actually figure out the prophecy? I mean it's a blood curse so it doesn't need to be spilled to even see what the prophecy is?" Scorpius asked.

"Technically...yes..." Lex nodded.

Ron pushed away from the table, shaking his head. "Well, we won't be doing that...so that settles that. Neither Hermione or my kid will be giving any of their blood."

Harry and Lex looked at each other again before side and back to her father realizing that was not going to say anything else.

"Well, there is another way..." Lex said slowly.

Ron furrowed his brow, confused. If blood needed to be spilled, there was no other way and he would not put Hermione or their baby through that.

"The theory is that a siblings blood would be close enough and could allow us to see what the prophecy is," Lex explained.

"Okay...but how does that help us? Our baby doesn't have a sibling..." Ron was very confused now.

Lex now looked to Scorpius whose brow was also furrowed but not in confusion. He shook his head slightly, he did not think she should tell Ron who she was right now and he didn't like the idea he knew she had come up with about using her own blood. There had to be another way.

But Lex merely bit her lip at Scorpius before turning back to Ron. She had already made the decision in her head that she was going to do whatever it took to save her family.

"Actually, there is a sibling," Lex said, looking down at her hands which were folded in front of her.

Ron shook his head, extra confused. "What? Who?"

Lex merely raised her hand before slowly raising her eyes, the same blue eyes that matched her fathers to find confusion written all over Ron's face.

"What? What are you even saying?" Ron shook his head fiercely. He was not following the conversation anymore, or maybe he was but refused to believe it. Even he wasn't sure.

"Well...I'm...I'm actually your daughter," Lex said, pulling the time turner out of her pocket as if it provided proof.

Ron looked at the time turner as if it were poison. "Where did you bloody get that? Those were all destroyed."

"Not all of them. I got one from Kingsley in the future. He sent me back here to figure out this prophecy and stop what will happen because of this... because if I don't you will die and so will that baby my mum is carrying and your next child and my mum will be locked away in St Mungo's for the rest of her life..." Lex said.

Ron shook his head in disbelief. "No..."

"It's true, Ron...Kingsley confirmed it for me." Harry backed up Lex story.

Ron shook his head harder, though, now looking at Lex, it was a little scary how much she looks like Hermione. "No..."

"Yes," Lex nodded, trying to figure out a way to convince her father. "My name is Alexis Jean Granger Weasley. I'm the youngest of your three children and I'm the only one alive. I've come back to try to stop and attack that will kill you and I'm hoping by figuring out this prophecy I can do that."

Again Ron shook his head. "I still don't believe you."

Lex thought for a long moment, trying to figure out how she could prove to Ron she was his child. She just started spewing out any facts she could.

"Your Boggart isn't spiders anymore...it's my Mum being tortured... it changed after the war, but you didn't tell anybody that did you? You don't tell anybody that ever because you never wanted Mum to know. I only found out after you died because uncle Harry accidentally saw it on a mission with you." Lex looked at Ron with conviction in her voice.

Ron's mouth hung opened in shock. It was true but didn't tell anyone that. He never wanted Hermione to know how much hearing her being tortured had affected him.

Lex could see the wheels turning in her father's head so she pushed further. "Your favorite flower is a rose and that's gonna become very important in a couple months. You hate my Mum's cooking, but you never tell her that because you know it would hurt her feelings. You hate sleeping with the window open, but you do it every night because my mum says she likes the smell of freshly mowed grass. You-"

"Alright, enough..." Ron put his hand up. Everything that Lex had just said was true, and he knew he had never told anyone most of that at least not yet in his life. He studied the girl across the table from him and realize just how much he looked like her Hermione, and yet shared some of his features.

"Here..." Lex rolled her sleeve up, revealing the tattoo that read Mudblood on her arm in the exact same writing as the scar on Hermione's arm.

Ron studied the tattoo for a minute. "What is that?"

"It's a tattoo of my mother's scar. I got it after everything that happened. Kind of as a reminder where I came from. Mum always hated that scar but... you always told her you were proud of it because it showed the world just how strong she was and where she came from. You never wanted her to hide it," Lex explained.

Ron looked away for a moment, trying to take everything in because what Lex had just said had hit him hard. There had been so many nights he caught Hermione thumbing over that scar. So many times where she tried to hide it and he hated it for her. He hated he couldn't have saved her in that moment to avoid this scar but he hated more how much she hated it. He always told her it made her more unique and stronger than ever.

After a long moment, Ron nodded. "Alright...yeah..."

Lex gave a small smile and then looked at Scorpius before looking back at her uncle and father. "I really really think you need to hear everything."

Ron nodded again.

And so Lex dove into the story about the future, Weasley family, and ultimately the attack that killed Ron, Rose, and Hugo. She talked about how Hermione ended up at St Mungo's and how Harry and Ginn helped raise her. She talked about how she became an Auror. She explained who Scorpius was, much to Harry and Ron's distain, and it took a number of times explaining that he was not like his father for them to remotely look at him without anger. Finally, she explained mission she had been sent on and how she got there to the past.

When she was done speaking she folded her hands and stared at her father and uncle, waiting for a reaction.

"Bloody hell..." Was all Ron managed out.

Lex nodded. "So...back to the theory that we can use my blood to hopefully figure out what this prophecy actually says and either stop it or show that it's really not a threat and then maybe we can save all your lives."

"Sure...sounds simple," Ron said sarcastically.

"It doesn't have to be complicated. Now that we are all understand it hopefully, we can move quicker on it." Lex said.

"But where do we even start?" Ron asked.

"Well we have to figure out who sent Goyle here because I think that's connected to the attack on the Department of Mysteries and whoever stole the prophecy. I think if we track down who sent Goyle we can track down who has the prophecy." Lex said and then turned to Scorpius.

"What?" Scorpius was confused as to why Lex was looking at him.

"Well, we figured it would be best to start with you. Your father is friends with him, and if you are as good as Lex is claiming you to be you should have no problem using your dad to get to Goyle," Harry said quickly. This was the one part of the plan he wanted to be in charge of. He did not trust Draco and was still unsure of his son no matter what Lex had said.

Scorpius shook his head "My father isn't really close to Goyle anymore. I mean...sure I can try but..."

"Try your best," Lex nodded. "But your father can't know who you are. We don't need anyone outside of this house to know. It just complicates things."

"I don't think we should tell Hermione. I think we just need to tell her that we're taking care of everything. I don't wanna stress out anymore than she already is." Ron said firmly.

Lex swallowed hard, realizing she was actually very disappointed by that. Part of her had so badly wanted to tell her mother who she was even if it was a younger version of her mother. She had missed her so much she wanted to be able to hug her without it being weird. Still, she understood where her father was coming from and would abide by his wishes. At least he knew who she was now.

Everyone else nodded an agreement with Ron.

"Well, I guess I'll go over to my parents house. See if I can't start prompting those conversations." Scorpius said, knowing he had to prove himself to Ron and Harry now.

"I should head home too. Ginny will wonder why I've been gone so long, and I'm sure she is worried. I left rather quickly," Harry said as he stood with Scorpius and the two moved to the fireplace to floo leaving Ron and Lex at the kitchen table.

Scorpius flooed into the Malfoy Manor to find his pregnant mother reading a book in the drawing room. It was still so weird to see her pregnant, knowing he was the baby she was growing.

Astoria was startled by his arrival causing her to gasp, and causing Draco to be in the room in seconds. For all of his flaws, his father had always been extremely attentive to his mother. It was one quality that Scorpius had been happy he had inherited from his father.

"What are you doing here at this hour?" Draco seemed angry at first with Scorpius but then his expression softened a bit, knowing Scorpius was supposed to be there to keep them safe. "Is something wrong? Something we should be concerned about?"

"Not directly with you... but there was another attack...on Hermione Weasley," Scorpius said.

Draco scoffed at the name.

"Draco," Astoria warned her husband. She had no problem with Hermione, in fact she admired how smart and driven Hermione was. Her bloodline did not matter to Astoria.

Scorpius smirked a bit. He had heard that same tone in his mother's voice anytime he had mentioned Mr. or Mrs. Weasley after he had started dating Rose. She never said a bad word about them.

"You know that woman has always been a thorn in my side," Draco said.

"You can't blame her for being smart and kind," Astoria dismissed her husband's words and turned to Scorpius. "What happened to her?"

"Well she was attacked by Gregory Goyle actually..." Scorpius said.

"Goyle? That moron..." Draco snorted. Ever since the war he had distanced himself from most of his former friends on the request of his wife, but honestly the longer he stayed away from them all the more he realized he was better off.

Scorpius merely nodded.

"Well, what does that have to do with us? He would never attack us." Draco said.

"The ministry thought you may be able to help...Goyle was apparently paid by someone but he didn't know who it was...said he was in a Death Eaters mask-" Scorpius started.

"I'm not a Death Eater anymore," Draco cut Scorpius off quickly.

"I'm not implying you are. The simple thought was that if Goyle could arrange a meeting with whoever that was, and you could be part of it...you could identify who was behind the attack," Scorpius said.

"Why would I help Granger with that?" Draco asked.

"Draco...come now. You wouldn't be standing here if her and Ron hadn't saved you in the Room of Requirements. Goyle should have been mindful of that as well," Astoria said quickly.

Draco looked at his wife for a moment and swallowed hard. Scorpius knew in that moment that his father would cave. He never went against his mother. Astoria always had a way of influencing him.

"Right, fine I'll help. But after this I'm even with Granger and Weaselbee..." Draco said with a little snark.

"Fine...thank you," Scorpius nodded at his father.

Ron and Lex sat in silence for a bit once Harry and Scorpius were gone. Ron was studying the girl across the table from him. He noted her hair color and nose were identical to Hermione, but the softness of her hair and her blue eyes clearly came from the Weasley's. Her skin tone was a mix between Hermione and his yet her build seemed to take much more after Ginny. It felt strange seeing such a mix of himself and Hermione sitting across the table from him.

"I'm assuming this is very weird for you," Lex broke the silence finally.

Ron nodded. "A little bit..."

"Well..." Lex threw her arms out. "What would you like to know?"

"I don't know...I mean... I guess the beginning. Where were you born?" Ron asked. His head was spinning with all of the information Lex held.

Lex laughed a little and pointed to the living room. "Right in there. Mum was waiting for you to come home from work to take her to St. Mungo's but apparently I had different plans. You delivered me on the floor in the living room when you got back from work..."

"I did?" Ron was in shock. He couldn't picture himself being collected enough to do something like that. The thought of Hermione giving birth downright terrified him.

"Yeah. Apparently you did really well...according to Grandmother anyway. She was here when it happened. Grandmother never let Mum live it down...told her she was being stubborn from the start and that the more babies you have, the quicker they come. She tried to get Mum to go a few times but Mum refused until you got home."

"Grandmother?" Ron asked.

"Mum's mother...she passed last year, in my world anyway," Lex said, looking down at her hands. She had always been close to her Grandmother and she missed her dearly.

"I'm sorry..." Ron didn't really know what else to say.

Lex shrugged. "It's alright...not like I haven't dealt with death before, plus Grammy is still alive."

Ron smiled softly. He knew that was what the grandkids called his mother already so he knew exactly who Lex was talking about and it only further confirmed she was his child.

"Were we good parents? Your Mum and I?" Ron asked.

"The best," Lex gave a sad but big smile, as if she was remembering something so dear to her, and she was. She had missed her parents so much.

"Really?" Ron asked. Her answer had given him a little confidence.

She nodded. "I mean...Mum could be a bit strict and Merlin did she run us ragged with our grades but yeah...the best."

Ron laughed. "Shocker, Hermione was worried about your schooling..."

"I don't know why. Rose and Hugo were both so smart and...well I managed just fine...bit more focused on Quidditch but I got by in school. Got a bit harder after...well everything that happened but the Weasley legacy of Gryffindor lived on." Lex explained.

"All of you were in Gryffindor?" Ron asked

Lex shook her head. "No...Rose and I were but Hugo was in Ravenclaw. Honestly, I think he picked it and I don't blame him. It was hard being in Rose's shadow..."

"I know how that feels..." Ron said, remembering what it felt like to grow up in the shadows of all his older brothers

"I know...you told me often you knew how I felt being the youngest. Part of what made you such a good dad...you always were so easy to talk to..." Lex looked away and Ron realized she was crying a bit as she wiped a small tear from her eye.

Ron felt the sudden urge to protect Lex, to calm her and make her feel better. It instantly crushed him to see her in pain and he assumed because it was a fatherly, innate instinct. Without thinking he reached out and took her hand.

"I'm so sorry for everything that's happened to you," Ron said.

Lex looked at her father's hand on hers and smiled before looking up at him. "Well, that's why I am here...to hopefully stop it all from happening."

Ron nodded back with a smile and the conversation quickly continued on. Lex talked about how she and Rose were excellent Quidditch Players, how Hugo likely would have been Head Boy, how Hermione became the Minister of Magic and how he was an Auror turned joke shop owner. They talked well into the night, with each round of new information only bringing them closer

Lex felt so strange; it was as if she was meeting her father all over again but she could appreciate him so much more now. Ron also felt strange but for a different reason. With every story Lex told he felt like he got to know her more and more and it really felt like he had known her his whole life; like she had always been there, a part of him and Hermione sitting right across from him. It was incredible.

Hermione woke up having to use the loo, a common side effect of her pregnancy. She rolled over to get out of bed to use the bathroom only to find Ron's side of the bed empty.

As she shuffled toward the lavatory connected to their bedroom, she noticed the Muggle clock on her nightstand, it read nearly four in the morning.

Hermione's mind raced as she finished using the lavatory , wondering where Ron could be at such an hour if he wasn't in bed.

Hermione instinctively grabbed her wand and slowly poked her head out of her bedroom and into the hall. She relaxed a bit, hearing Ron's muffled voice coming from downstairs.

Knowing now that at least Ron was home but wondering what emergency could keep him from sleep she carefully crept down the stairs. She assumed that whatever information Harry and Lex had gotten at the Ministry about the attack on them earlier that night or the prophecy must be why Ron was still up.

As Hermione reached the landing of the steps, which a creak on the wooden floorboard she heard Ron's voice stop speaking.

Hermione's brow furrowed as to why her presence may stop the conversation Ron was having and she briskly walked into the kitchen, expecting to find Ron, Harry, Scorpius, and Lex sitting there but shocked to only find her husband and his female Auror partner.

"Hermione? What are you doing up?" Ron asked, surprised to see her.

Hermione scowled at her husband, not liking the scenario she had walked in on at all. She knew it was silly, but a twinge of jealousy rose in her chest. "Why aren't you in bed? Is something wrong?"

Ron looked between Lex and Hermione and then shook his head no. "No...we were just talking..."

"About the prophecy or the attack?" Hermione pressed.

"Well, yeah...for a bit," Ron shrugged. That was true. He couldn't tell Hermione he had spent the last six hours learning about their future from their daughter.

"Well, where is Harry then?" Hermione looked around. If this conversation was work related then she would imagine Harry would be there.

"Oh he went home a few hours ago..." Ron said.

Lex was able to see her mother getting more annoyed with every word her father said and could also see that her father had no idea. She decided to try and help avoid any squabbled that was coming. She knew her parents too well.

"Honestly, you should try and sleep a bit. I've got night watch," Lex stretched out and put her wand on the table.

Ron nodded, realizing now Hermione seemed annoyed. "Right, let's get to bed then."

Hermione snorted, turning on her heel and leading Ron up the stairs.

Once in their room, Hermione closed the door and turned on her heel to Ron, her arms folded over her soft stomach.

"What?" Ron asked. He could tell she was annoyed but he couldn't figure out why.

Hermione looked at Ron as if he was crazy. "You've been downstairs for hours chatting up another woman and you have the nerve to ask me what?"

Ron shook his head in disbelief, knowing just how insane Hermione actually sounded, especially knowing that Lex was his daughter, although he knew he had already made the call to leave that information out of the conversation with Hermione, at least for now. He didn't think overwhelming her with her entire family, who she didn't even know yet, tragic death story would not be the best idea in Hermione's delicate state. He remembered the Healer specifically told them to avoid stress during the pregnancy if possible.

"Chatting up? Hermione...I work with Lex, and in case you forgot, we were just attacked in our own home. We were just trying to sort through all of the information," Ron said.

"Well...then what is the information?" Hermione pushed, though her voice held slightly less annoyance. She knew Ron was right and she knew she was acting out of sorts. She blamed the hormones.

Ron took a deep breath. He knew he wanted to keep the information he shared with Hermione to a high level until they had more answers, otherwise it would only upset her.

"Just that...they are after your blood...they stole your sample from St. Mungo's a few weeks ago..." Ron said.

"They did? You never told me!" Hermione was upset at this information.

"I didn't think it was important at the time but now we know...they were probably trying to use it to hear the prophecy. If it's a blood curse then..." Ron shrugged.

Hermione's mind raced as she nodded, connecting the dots quickly. "Yes, they would need blood of whoever the prophecy is about...but if they had that why come for me again?"

Ron was trying to figure out how to explain the next part delicately, but Hermione, ever the smart witch, put it together before he could.

Once the realization hit Hermione her eyes grew wide and her hands immediately went to the tiny little curve in her stomach. "They need the baby's blood...not mine."

"It's only a theory we have..." Ron said quickly.

Hermione shook her head and sank down on the bed, shock on her face. "No...no that makes sense...why everything is happening now..."

She looked up quickly at Ron and added, "But how would they know I'm pregnant?"

"Some of your records were also stolen from St. Mungo's..." Ron admitted.

Immediately, Hermione's hand flew to cover her mouth as she processed everything. "We need to do everything to keep this baby safe."

"We will," Ron sat down, taking her other hand in his. "I promise."

Hermione nodded. "I'll do whatever I need to do. I'll work from home...I'll let Lex follow me everywhere...I'll avoid busy places..."

"I don't want us changing our entire life, Hermione. You were right about that. We aren't going to let them win or control us...we just need to take extra precautions for the time being. I promise, we will get this figured out. I won't let anything happen to you," Ron took her hand in his and made his promise to her knowing in his head it meant so much more.

Knowing the future held a world where he may leave Hermione, where she would lose everything was something he would not let happen. They had to fix everything. Lex had come back for a reason and Ron would make that trip worth while.
