Hello everyone, this is my attempt to create my own twist to one of my favorite scary movies of all time. It is my own original work dedicated to the movie Scream from 1996. There will be no Pokemon involved in this story, only the characters. I hope everyone enjoys it.
It was a cool, quiet evening in Twinleaf Town. Dawn Berlitz, the young and spirited Pokémon Coordinator, was home alone. Her mother was away for the weekend, and Dawn relished the peace and solitude. She had spent the day catching up on a good book and now she was getting ready to watch a scary movie .
As the sun set, casting an orange glow over the town, Dawn settled into the living room. She had just started looking at different movie options when she heard the faint sound of her phone ringing. She reached over to the coffee table and picked it up.
"Hello?" she answered.
A raspy, chilling voice responded, "Hello, who is this?"
Dawn asked. ¨Who are you trying to reach? You might have the wrong number.¨
The chilling figure responded. ¨Maybe I do.¨
As Dawn said her goodbye expecting it to be simply a mistake she hung up the phone. After a couple of seconds it rang again
Dawn's heart skipped a beat. "Who is this?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.
The mysterious figure responded. ¨I´m sorry it seems like I dialed the wrong number, just called back to apologize.¨
¨You are forgiven, bye now. She responded as the phone call ended.¨
After getting into her pajamas and tying up her blue hair she proceeded to make popcorn in the microwave. She was excited but the mood died down immediately once the phone rang again.
Dawn answered in an annoyed tone. ¨Ugh, hello?¨
The man asked, "Why don't you wanna talk to me?¨
She asked again, ¨Who is this?¨
¨You tell me your name, I´ll tell you mine.¨ The mysterious man responded as Dawn hung up
Shaking off the unease, Dawn tried to return to her movie selection, but her concentration was broken. The phone rang again. She ignored it, but it kept ringing. Finally, she answered, frustration clear in her voice. "What do you want?"
¨You never told me your name.¨ the voice said.
She had a questioning look on her face. ¨Why do you wanna know my name?¨
"Because I wanna know who I'm looking at." Ghostface responded.
Dawn's blood ran cold. She glanced around the room, her eyes darting to the windows and doors. Everything seemed normal, but the unease settled in her stomach like a lead weight. She asked, "Who is this?¨
"Just a friend," the voice said. "Do you like scary movies?"
Dawn's mind raced. This had to be a prank. "Look I don't have time for this, I wanna know who this is right now!?" she demanded, trying to keep her voice steady.
"Let's play a game," the voice continued, ignoring her question. "Answer correctly, and you live. Get it wrong, and you die."
Panic surged through Dawn as she began to cry. "This isn't funny. Who are you?"
The voice chuckled menacingly. "You'll find out soon enough. First question: What's your favorite scary movie?"
Dawn's mind raced. She decided to play along, hoping to buy herself some time. "Uh, I guess... Halloween, the one about the babysitter murders?"
"Good choice," the voice said. "Next question: Name the killer in Friday the 13th?"
Dawn hesitated. "It's Jason, it has to be Jason"
"I´m sorry that's the wrong answer but lucky for you there's a bonus round," the voice said. "Final question: Where am I right now?"
Dawn's blood ran cold. She looked around the room, her eyes scanning the windows and doors. "I don't know," she whispered.
"Wrong answer," the voice said. "I'm right behind you."
Dawn spun around, but there was no one there. The phone call ended abruptly, leaving her in terrified silence.
Suddenly, there was a loud knock at the front door. Dawn froze, her heart pounding in her chest. Frozen with fear all she could do in that moment was ask who's there? She approached the door cautiously, peeking through the peephole.
No one was there.
The phone rang again. This time, Dawn let it go to voicemail. She turned on all the lights in the house, hoping the brightness would dispel her growing fear. She double-checked the locks on the doors and windows, making sure everything was backed away, her mind racing. She needed to stay calm and think. She dialed the number for the local police, but the line was busy. Panic surged through her. She needed help, but she was alone.
A noise from the kitchen caught her attention. Dawn crept towards the sound. She peered around the corner and saw a shadowy figure moving in the dim light. Her breath caught in her throat as she saw a person in black robes wearing the mask of a ghostly like figure.
The figure turned to her, the white mask reflecting the dim light. He pulled out a Buck 120 knife symbolizing what his intentions were.
Dawn screamed and tried to run, but Ghostface was faster. He grabbed her arm, pulling her back with a force that knocked the wind out of her. She struggled, kicking and punching, but his grip was unyielding.
Ghostface slammed her against the wall, the impact making her see stars. She dropped the phone, and it rolled across the floor, out of reach. Dawn's vision blurred as she fought to stay conscious.
"Why are you doing this?" she gasped.
Ghostface tilted his head, the expressionless mask staring back at her. "Because I can."
With a swift, brutal motion, he raised his knife and plunged it into her chest. Dawn's scream was cut short as pain exploded through her body. She fell to the floor, her hands clutching at the wound as blood pooled around her.
Ghostface knelt beside her, his voice a whisper. "No one can save you now."
Dawn's vision dimmed, and the last thing she saw was the white mask, a stark contrast to the encroaching darkness. Her thoughts turned to her friends, her family, and the dreams she would never fulfill.
As life faded from her eyes, Ghostface stood up, wiping the knife clean. He looked around the room one last time before disappearing into the night, leaving only silence and darkness in his wake.
The next morning, Twinleaf Town would awaken to the horror of what had transpired. But for now, the night remained quiet, a stillness that seemed to echo the tragic end of Dawn Berlitz.
That's the end of chapter one. I hope you all enjoyed it, I have been wanting to do this version for a very long time now. Don´t worry you will meet everyone else in the next chapter. I hope you all stick around and see where this story goes. See you all soon.
