Chapter 37: Romantic & Family Time

10 minutes later they met at the bottom of the stairs, and after turning the living room light off, Sara took her husband's hand and led him up to their bedroom, and when they walked in, Grissom was going to release her hand to light some candles, but she squeezed his hand tighter while shaking her head with a smile, knowing what he is thinking. "Very romantic, but I don't want that."

He cleared his throat, watching his wife's eyes go dark, before speaking softly. "Then what does my wife want?"

She placed her hands on his shirt buttons and undid the rest of them before sliding his shirt off his shoulders then moving her hands down to the buckle of his belt and whispered passionately while looking into his eyes. "I just want my husband."

He cupped her cheek while clearing his throat. "And you have him."

She smirked as she let his pants drop to the floor. "Not yet I don't."

He brings her closer to him and kissed her passionately as he used his feet to get out of his shoes, then he stepped out of his pants, leaving him in just his boxers, before she led him to the bed.

Sometime later, Sara, who was now only in her undergarments, was laying at his side, and he looked over at her with a smile and passion filled eyes while trying to calm his racing heart after what just happened. "You know this is supposed to be your night."

Sara smiled as she placed her hand on his bare chest. "And it still can be, you really think I'm done with you?"

She then started to slide her hand down his body, but before her hand went too far, he took it and brought it up to his lips with a smirk. "And if your hand goes any lower, I might be done."

She gave him a little pout. "Fine, I'll behave."

He raised an eyebrow at that comment. "You think what you just did was behaving?"

She slipped her hand out of his and cupped his cheek. "I just wanted to show my husband how appreciative I am of him."

"You do that by your actions." She smirked, and he continued with a chuckle. "And I don't mean what you can do just in the bedroom."

Softly, she replied. "I know."

They smiled at one another with love and a hint of desire and passion back in their eyes, then they move their faces towards one another and kissed softly at first before it was filled with more passion and desire.

Soon after, while he was now above her, Grissom pulled his lips away and started to kiss her neck as his hand went down her body, stopping at her stomach so he could run his thumb up and down it, causing her to move her hand to cover his and slip her fingers through his. He then pulls back from her neck, giving her a few more passion filled kisses before he started to trail his lips down her body until it reached her stomach, removing their hands so he could kiss it softly a few times, a ritual he does ever since he found out she was pregnant, causing her to sigh softly. "Gilbert."

He hardly ever heard his full first name from his wife, only in intimate moments like this, a few teasing moments, or when he was in 'trouble', which in this moment it could be two out of the three, so he smiled as he moved his hands to the waistband of her panties. "Yes, dear."

She lifted her body up when it was time for him to take them off, then closed her eyes as his hand slid up her legs, but before he could reach to that certain spot, she already couldn't handle it, she takes his hand and tugs on it, wanting him completely above her again before she whispered with passion. "There is another time for that, I just want my husband now!"

He smiled. "Your wish is my command."

A moment later there was an intimate gasp, he paused for a moment, their eyes connected the whole time, making sure everything was ok, then she nodded with a smile, wrapped her legs around him while he leaned down and they started kissing, continuing on their passion filled night, which almost reminded them on their first night together, expect now they knew each other's bodies like the back of their hand, so it was so much more.

Next Morning

Sara woke up as Grissom walked into the bedroom from the bathroom, showered and freshly changed.

They smiled at one another as he walked to the bed. "Morning dear, how did you sleep?"

She grinned and stretched. "Like a rock."

He sits down on her side of the bed and smirks. "Did I have something to do with that?"

She chuckled as she cupped his cheek. "You had a lot to do with that, and mostly always do."

They smiled as he leaned down so they could share a few kisses, and after they pulled back, she sighed. "Now it's back to the real world." He nodded, then after they share another kiss, he pulls back and gets off the bed while Sara spoke again, just realizing something, she didn't have her bag so that meant... "Uh Griss, I don't have any clothes here, or at least any that will fit me."

They do keep a few extra pairs of clothes here just in case, but since they are not here all the time, she hadn't had a chance to add some of her current sized clothing.

He smirked. "Well, you could always ware what you had on yesterday or you can wear my clothes until we get to my mother's."

She chuckled as she got out of bed, only wearing his shirt from last night. "Yeah, and either option doesn't scream 'I know what you did last night.'"

He chuckled as he watched her walk to his dresser. "I think she would get that anyways." As she was pulling out a pair of his sweatpants and a t-shirt, he walked up to her and wrapped his arms around her waist, placing his hand on her bulging stomach. "I mean I did show up surprisingly on your birthday. What do you think she thought was going to happen last night?"

She nodded with a sigh of content. "True." She then turned in his arms and cupped his cheek. "And by the way, thank you for last night, for showing up, for dinner and dessert."

He smirked. "Which one?"

Wrapped her arms around his neck, the clothes still in her hand. "Both. Both were pretty spectacular."

With love in his eyes, he whispered. "So, I still got it?"

"Oh, you most definitely still got it."

They started to kiss, but before they could get too carried away, she pulled back and shook her head. "As much as I want a repeat of last night, I should get in the shower so we can get to your mom's and call our daughter before she goes to school."

"You're right."

They share one more soft kiss before she heads to the bathroom to take her shower while he finishes getting ready.

45 minutes later they walked into Mrs. Grissom's house, and Mrs. Grissom had a smirk on her face while watching Sara, who was wearing Grissom's clothes, head for Grissom's childhood bedroom.

Mother and son have eye contact a moment later, and Grissom shook his head with a smile. 'Don't say anything.'

She chuckled. 'I didn't.' Before giving him a smirked look 'So, I take it last night was a success then.'

Grissom cleared his throat before signing again, ignoring that question all together. 'I'm going to start on breakfast.' Before heading towards the kitchen while Betty just shook her head with another chuckle as she picked up her coffee cup to take a sip.

10 minutes later, Sara, who was now dressed in her clothes, was in the kitchen and they had the phone on speaker while they were talking to their daughter.

"Honey, we just want to wish you good day at school. I'm sorry neither one of us is there to take you."

"Thanks, and it's ok, I understand. I hope you had a good birthday though."

Sara and Grissom share eye contact while Sara spoke with a bright smile. "I had a wonderful birthday, the only thing that was missing was you."

"I missed you too mommy, but maybe we can do something when you get back."

"I would like that very much." She then looked at her watch and continued. "Alright little one, it's time for you to leave, I'll talk to you later."

"Ok, love you mommy and daddy, give the new baby a kiss and hug for me, and tell grandma I love her."

Grissom spoke this time. "We will, love you, butterfly."

"Love you, honey."

After they hung up, she closed her phone and put it in her pants pocket with a sigh. "I miss her so much."

"I know honey." He then asked while finishing up the eggs. "So, are you planning on staying here any longer?"

"I don't know, I'll see how Jo feels. I mean the original plan was for me to stay with them a few days after they were released from the hospital, but if her dad is staying and Josh's sisters are coming, I don't think she'll need me as much."

He nodded in understanding then they finished cooking breakfast together before serving it.

When they noticed it was time for visiting hours at the hospital, Sara and Grissom said their goodbyes to his mother since Grissom, and possibly Sara, was leaving after they visited with Hudson-Price family for a few hours, then after Sara made sure she had her bag, they walked out of the house and Grissom drove them to the hospital in a rented vehicle.

Once they got there, they headed right to Jo's recovery room, and Sara knocked.

A second later, they hear Jo say it's ok to come in, so Sara opened the door and stepped in, seeing it was only Josh, Jo, and Evelyn in the room, with Grissom behind her, which the minute Jo saw Grissom, she smiled brightly. "Grissom, you made it, so you set up a little surprise for Sara on her birthday."

Grissom smiled shyly as he walked closer to the bed. "Of course, I haven't missed a birthday since I met her, I wasn't about to start now."

Jo started to have tears in her eyes. "Aww, that's sweet."

Josh, while looking at his girlfriend, gets worried. "Babe, what's wrong?"

Jo shook her head. "Nothing, just my hormones are all over the place right now, sorry."

Josh sighed in relief while both Sara and Grissom shook their head with a smile before Sara spoke in a reassuring tone. "It's understandable, you just had a baby."

Grissom then smiled a little wider as he saw the baby in Jo's arms. "And she is a beauty at that, well done."

Josh and Jo smiled shyly before Jo cleared her throat and asked. "So, does Uncle Grissom want to hold her?"

Grissom looked a little shocked at the 'title', then he cleared his throat before asking. "Can I?"

Jo smiled as she lifted her arms up so she could place the baby in Grissom's arms. "You are her uncle after all, right?"

Grissom gets that goofy smile on his face as he looked down at the baby in his arms. "I guess I am."

He had only been referred to as somebody's uncle once before, and that was Lindsey, which now that he doesn't live close to her anymore, he doesn't get to hear that title very often. But he was going to quite enjoy it when this little one starts to talk, which caused him to smile even more.

There was a pause of peace before Sara cleared her throat and spoke. "I don't mean to make things serious right now, but since I'm here, I wanted to give you these signed papers now so you can turn them into your lawyer when you get a chance."

While Josh took the folder from Sara, Jo looked at her best friend with emotion. "Thank you."

Sara nodded with a smile as she cupped her best friend's cheek. "Of course, but we are praying it never comes to that."

"I know that too, but still thank you from the bottom of our hearts."

"You're welcome, we just want you to be reassured that your daughter will be in the second-best hands possible."

"I have no doubt."

As Sara was pulling her hand back, Grissom had walked to his wife with the baby still in his arms. "Alright, here Aunt Sara, it's your turn."

Sara smiled as the baby was transferred into her arms, happy for her friend so she could enjoy this wonderful, new experience.

Sometime later, Josh and Grissom wanted to give Sara and Jo a little time to themselves, so they took Evelyn out for a 'walk' around the hospital so she could charm everyone who sees her.

Jo could sense Sara's very good mood, which she had sensed it the moment Sara had walked in earlier and asked. "So, I take it someone had a wonderful night."

Sara smiled shyly. "I would say probably one of our best nights. But and I don't mean to brag, we hardly have any bad..." Sara trailed off when she noticed Jo started to have tears in her eyes. "Hey, what's wrong?"

Jo tried to shake it off, but Sara really wanted to know what was wrong with her best friend, so she finally told her. "I was just thinking how things will be between Josh and I now that we have a child, is it going to be the same?"

Sara shook her head. "Some aspects of your relationship won't be the same as it was, both of your lives are completely changed now with a baby involved." She then placed her hand on Jo's as she continued in a comforting tone. "But I see the love between you two, I saw it the first time I met him. What you two share is deep and loving, and while things won't be easy going forward, as long as you work at your relationship and are on the same page, I see great things between you two in your future."

Jo took a breath with a nod. "Thank you, Sara."

"You're welcome." Sara then took a breath and continued. "And least you two are already living together, and don't have that extra obstacle of living in different cities, let alone different states."

Jo winced, remembering how things were in the beginning between Sara and Grissom. "I know that was never easy for you."

"No, it wasn't, one of the hardest times of my life." Sara then smiled as she continued. "But I knew from the moment I started to get to know him, there wasn't anything I wouldn't have done to be with him, no matter what hardships we would have to overcome to be together. There was never going to be another man, no matter how things would have worked out in the end, he's my everything and I don't regret a single moment, difficult or otherwise, one bit because it led us to now, and I haven't been happier."

Jo nodded with a smile as she squeezed her best friend's hand. "I know, I saw something change in you that night you kissed him."

Sara smirked with love in her eyes. "It's called love at first sight."

Jo chuckled with a nod before replying. "And I'm so glad it all worked out for you two." She then smirked while nodding her head to her best friend's stomach. "Still working out for you, I should say."

Sara nodded with a bright smile as she ran her thumb up and down her stomach.

A few hours later, and after Sara got confirmation from Jo that she will be ok and that she didn't need her to stay, Sara and Grissom said their goodbyes and left the hospital before heading to the airport to catch their afternoon flight.

When the plane landed in San Francisco, they got off it and headed into the airport, seeing Quinn and Ashley in the waiting area.

They smiled at one another, and when they were close, Ashley and Quinn share hugs with Sara before Ashley asked. "How is Jo doing?"

"Great, and completely in love with her little girl."

"Awesome."

Quinn then asked. "Any pictures?"

Sara chuckled. "Josh will send them once they are developed."

As the girls nodded, Ashley gives Sara's vehicle keys to her, and Sara spoke with a smile. "Thank you, Ash, and not only for driving my vehicle here, but taking care of Belle."

"You're welcome, and no problem, you know that, anytime."

They share another hug before they all walk out of the airport together.

When they get to Sara's vehicle, Grissom took care of the bags while Sara was saying goodbye to her friends, and after agreeing to a belated birthday party where it was just going to be the three of them, Ashley followed Quinn to her vehicle while Sara and Grissom got into hers so they could get home, and by the time they unpack and drive to Belle's school, it should be time to pick her up.

Sara and Grissom were standing next to Grissom's vehicle on the passenger side when the last school bell of the day rung and a moment later they saw kids running/walking out of the building, ready to get on the bus or get to their parent's vehicle, and among those kids Sara and Grissom see their daughter walking slowly reading a book, so they chuckled before Grissom spoke loudly. "Hey, Butterfly."

Belle's head immediately lifted up from her book as she stopped, hearing her father's voice, then she had bright smile on her face while she ran to her parents, more specially her mother.

When they were near one another, Sara hugged her daughter as tightly as she should and spoke with a sigh. "Oh my god, it is so good to see you again."

She can count on one hand how many times she's spent more than one day way from her daughter, and even that was too much for her to think about.

They pull back and Sara cups her daughter's cheek with a smile and tears in her eyes. "I swear you have grown since I've been gone."

Belle chuckled. "Mommy, you've only been gone two days."

"Yes, but that's two days too long, and even though it was for a special reason, I missed you like crazy."

"I've missed you too."

As they share another hug, Grissom cleared his throat and spoke with a smirk. "And what am I over here, chop liver?"

Mother and daughter chuckle as they pull back, then she took a step towards her father and he picks her up, which was getting a little hard these days, and she wrapped her arms around her father's neck with a smile. "I've missed you too, daddy."

He hugged her to him with a sigh. "And I've missed you as well, so much."

After they pull back, but with her still in his arms, Sara asked. "So, little one, what do you want to do today?"

"Isn't it supposed to be your day?"

"How about we call it our day, just the three of us."

Belle chuckled and pointed to her stomach. "Don't you mean the four of us, mommy?"

Sara chuckled with a nod. "Right you are, ok just the four of us, and anything you want."

She thinks about it for a second and told them before finishing it off with. "And can we watch a movie with popcorn before we go to bed?"

Sara nodded. "You got it."

As Grissom lowered his daughter back on the ground, Belle asked. "How about ice cream first." Seeing her mother was about to speak, Belle continued with a smirk. "You did say anything I wanted, mommy."

Sara closed her mouth and looked at Grissom, which he had the identical smirk on his face, so Sara knew immediately he wasn't going to be any help in this situation this time around. "You did say anything, dear."

She shook her head with a smile. "Ok I did, and it is still early enough you won't ruin dinner, so why not."

Belle cheered as Grissom opened the back door for his daughter, and once she was in and he had closed the door, he opened the passenger door for his wife, which they share a loving smile and kiss before she gets in, then he heads to the driver's side and gets in himself, all ready to spend time together as a family, something they wish they could do more of, but taking every advantage they can when the opportunity comes along.
