Hey everyone!

So my birthday month has arrived and, with it, brings the first batch of updates. The second ones should be around... if not on my birthday so we shall see how that goes as I will be at my dad's. I hope you're all having a great September so far.

Lots of love,

Finally Belonging Somewhere – Part 129:

The next morning arrived and Aurora soon had herself dressed and went to Cait's study where Cait, Jen and Meredith were all sat with a coffee as they waited for her. Cait had said to meet them there the previous night.

"Sorry it took me so long. I'm glad you started breakfast without me," Aurora said and Jen chuckled.

"We didn't start breakfast without you because we're taking you out for breakfast," she said.

"Can I come too?" came a voice that made everyone turn.

"McKenzie! What do you have to say for yourself?" Jen said.

"I told her and Aislynn and Greer last night at dinner," Aurora said. "She knows why you're taking me to town. Please let her come," she said softly.

Jen's look of anger at Kenzie faded as she heard Aurora's words and she looked at her nice.

"Whilst I do not approve of the sneaking around, you can come with us as Aurora has asked," she said before looking at her watch. "We should get going or we'll miss our breakfast reservation."

"You know that would never happen, Jen," Cait said. "They know us too well in the restaurant for that to happen."

The group made their way out to the car and Jen drove them into town. Aurora loved the ride into town and the view was always amazing to her. She watched the scenery go by out of the window and counted the sheep that she could see.

Cait led the way to the restaurant and everyone moved out of her way and their usual table was ready for them.

Aurora looked at the menu and soon decided on pancakes and fruit with hash browns. She then thought about it and decided she wanted fried eggs, sausages, bean, bacon, fried bread as well.

"I'll tell you what. You get that breakfast and I'll get that as well," Meredith said, "but I'll get mine with the side of pancakes and then you can have some of mine."

Aurora looked at her aunt and nodded softly. That seemed the best option and Aurora knew it. She waited until her order was taken and asked for orange juice to drink. She was rather delighted to discover there was a refillable option so she took that up in an instant.

"I love my orange juice," she said and Kenzie chuckled before ordering the same refillable option. The adults went for the refillable coffee option, which was also predictable.

"So we're going to the stationary shop, of course, but are there any other shops you both would like to visit?" Cait asked as they waited for their food.

"I'd like to get some sweets for everyone seeing as they didn't come," Kenzie said as she thought for a moment. "I think Aurora would like some books for her library here as well," she said.

"I would… but I already have so many books to read," Aurora said.

"Are you planning to read a lot whilst you're here?" Meredith asked.

"Yes. I want to help on the land but there are some things that I can't help with so I want to read and play the piano," Aurora said.

"Then we can get you some books. I know James is having a bookshelf put into your room," Cait said and Aurora smiled and nodded softly before double taking.

"The King is what…?" she asked before hearing laughter.

"We will never get tired of hearing ourselves referred to as the King and Queen," Cait said. "Yes, James is having a bookshelf put into your room so you can have your books in there and we'll create a reading corner whilst you're out helping around the Estate."

"That sounds wonderful," Aurora said as she nodded. "Are you sure it's not a bother though?" she asked.

"Not at all, Aurora. This is going to be a home for you so we want you to feel comfortable here and if that means making your room more comfortable for you by adding things or changing things around then that is what we can and will do," Cait said as she looked at Aurora before telling Kenzie to refill the juices, which the girl did instantly.

The breakfast arrived and everyone fell silent as they tucked into their own ones. Aurora taking the odd bite of Meredith's pancakes. It was the best of both worlds for her and that was enough to satisfy her.

"It had been decided that the book and stationary shop along the sweet shop were going to be the main targets for the group as those were the ones that everyone wanted to go to the most. The adults wanted to stock up on the coffee and whisky, as was tradition whenever there was a trip into town. This had always amused Kenzie and she laughed softly as she heard.

"We will be having the day in town so after we can go and see some other shops as well. Aurora needs to get things for her room as well," Cait said as she looked at Aurora.

"But the things will just be sat there for a lot of the year…" Aurora started.

"No different to Daphne and Astoria's and Jamie and Kenzie's and, from September, Aislynn," Jen said with a chuckle. "Stop making excuses because they aren't going to work," she said and Aurora just nodded before finishing her food and got one final glass of orange juice before the group paid and then headed off to the book and stationary shop to see what could be brought for Aurora.

They walked into the shop and Jen nudged Aurora towards the stationary area. The girl was surprised to be nudged gently in that direction first but that was the main reason they'd come into town in the first place.

She began to look around at the pretty books and had decided to look at the notebooks first as she felt that was going to be the hardest task of all. She wasn't wrong. There were so many to choose from and Aurora soon decided that she'd pick up the ones she wanted to see what the others thought about.

"That's a few notebooks there," Kenzie said as she found Aurora stood with six books in her hand and the younger girl sighed.

"I need opinions on which to get," Aurora said, "because I like them all and I can't decide," she said and Kenzie nodded, leading Aurora back to where the adults were discussing some books they wanted to read.

"Aurora has some notebooks and she can't decide what ones to get," Kenzie explained before Aurora spread the notebooks out on a nearby table.

"I like them all and I can sometimes have different stories being written so I'm not sure which one I would write up first," Aurora explained. "Everything in my book is just chaotic."

"Well, how many stories do you have currently in your book?" Cait asked and Jen knew exactly what her mother was thinking.

"Mathair…" she started.

"Jen…" Cait said. "I am not going to purchase all six books but she has a need for many notebooks. Meredith and yourself will get two of the books for her," she said as she looked at her daughter. "Now Kenzie why don't you take Aurora and the notebooks and find six pens to match the books? See if she needs anything for school as well. Lucius and Narcissa won't have much time to do school shopping and the owls may arrive when Draco and Aurora are here as well."

"We can do that," Kenzie said and grabbed the books before leading Aurora swiftly back over to the stationary section.

"Bending your own rules for Aurora I see," Jen said.

"I will. She's precious and her parents will teach her she cannot always get what she wants but, when she is under my care, she will have what she needs with less choices being forced upon her. Wasn't it you the other day who said she needs someone throwing less choices at her?" Cait said as she looked at her daughter. "She will have that with me and James," she said and glanced at Meredith who, rather cleverly, had pretended to be checking out a book.

"Right so we have all six pens to go with your notebooks. Now would you like to look at some things for school?" Kenzie asked. "You can get some pretty unique things here for school."

Aurora nodded softly and Kenzie led her over to the school section and that was far easier for Aurora as she was instantly able to pick out what she needed. Kenzie held the things in her hands and they went to the adults and added to the pile of books on the table.

"Now to getting books for your library," Jen said as she took Aurora's hand and led her over to the books. She watched Aurora pick out the books she wanted. There was a mixture but she was picking books that were for around her age.

The group then split Aurora's items between them and paid before they headed out the book and stationary shop and headed towards the clothes shops to see what Aurora and Kenzie would like to get.
