Wes and Rui have arrived to the Outskirt Stand to purchase some Pokéballs. When they spotted Willie standing out of the stand.
"Oh, hey, it's you again," Willie said.
"Wes, you know him?" Rui asked.
"Yeah. I battled him just before we met. What's up?" Willie asked.
"There were some rough-looking guys that were just here, and they were asking about you. It made me worried. They looked like they're from Team Snatch," Willie said.
"Were there three of them?" Wes asked.
"Yeah, but how did you figure it out?" Willie asked.
"I just guessed," Wes said.
"What are you two up to?" Willie asked.
"We came here to buy some Pokéballs from here," Rui said.
"Well, you came to the right place because the guy inside should have some inside. Just ask him for them and he'll give them to you," Willie said.
"That's what we'll do," Wes said.
"Thanks," Rui said.
Wes and Rui walked in the Outskirt Stand and right up to the man.
"Hello. What can I do for you two?" The man asked.
"We came here to purchase some Pokéballs from this establishment," Wes said.
"Pokéballs, you say?" The man asked.
"Yes, and if you have any, then we will need them right away. Please," Rui said.
"Well, I seem to have a briefcase full of them. I brought them with me when I first came here a few years ago. If I knew ahead of time that there weren't any wild Pokémon here in Orre, I wouldn't have brought them along with me, but I have no need of them. Hold on for a sec and I'll fetch them for you," the man said, heading to the back, looking for the briefcase. "Now, where'd I put that briefcase?" He found it a few seconds later. "Ah-ha! Here it is!" He brought the briefcase over to Wes and Rui. "You two can make good use for these since I won't be able to. There are Pokéballs, Great Balls, Ultra Balls, Net Balls, Nest Balls, and Timer Balls."
"Thank you very much," Rui said.
"How much?" Wes asked.
"You keep that money, because I'm giving you these for free. I am wishing you luck with whatever it is you're doing," the man said.
"Again, thank you for the Pokéballs, and we promise to put these to good use," Rui said.
"We should head back to Phenac City for right now and plan our next move," Wes said.
"You're right, Wes. We need to go over it anyway," Rui said.
With that said, Wes and Rui have gotten in Wes's vehicle and started to drive back to Phenac City. Unknown to them, a man wearing a black hood is observing them.
"So it has started just like DiZ said. Sure hope it was worth the wait," the hooded figure said.
Upon arriving in Phenac City, the woman from before spotted the two of them stepping back in.
"Oh! It's you two! Something terrible's happening!" The woman exclaimed.
"What's wrong?" Wes asked as the woman ran up to the two of them.
"A whole lot of scary men came here! I think I even saw those two creeps who had that girl from earlier!" The woman said.
"They're back," Wes said.
"You don't think they're here for me, don't you?" Rui asked.
"I won't let that happen. I won't let them take you. Besides, they're gonna have to get you over my dead body," Wes said. Rui blushed, hearing those words. He turned to the woman. "Just where did they go?"
"They headed right for the mayor's house. The mayor stepped out of his home a little ago, but then those men arrived and headed right in. I wonder if the mayor is hiding anything they could want," the woman said.
"Okay," Wes said. He and Rui headed right for Es Cade's house and stepped inside. Inside the house was Trudly and Folly from before along with four other men. Three of the men wore uniforms with helmets with shades over their eyes and scarves. One is wearing blue, one is wearing red, and one is wearing green. The fourth man is a very tall man who is known for his afro styled after a Pokéball. He wore flashy golden clothes with glasses. Trudly and Folly recognized him.
"Master Miror B! It's... It's him! He's the one that took the girl from us!" Folly said, pointing his finger at Wes and Rui. The man called Miror B turned around and saw them both.
"Oh, now aren't you boys frightfully pathetic? You mean to tell me you were bested by these darling infants?" Miror B asked.
"You shouldn't judge a book by its cover," Wes said.
"Darling, did you say your name was Wes or something?" Miror B asked.
"I didn't say it, but what's it to you if it is?" Wes asked.
"I so don't like saying this, but we're not at liberty to keep your lady friend at liberty. That sweet young thing, she can see things that ordinary people aren't supposed to see. That just will not do for what we're planning to do. No, it just won't do at all. If you don't like pain, like most people, you can avoid the pain by keeping your nose out of places it needn't be," Miror B said. Wes held his arm in front of Rui.
"You're getting her back in your clutches when Hell freezes over," Wes said.
"Ooh, I like your fiestiness, but your 'tude needs an improvement," Miror said as he turned to his two flunkies. "Boys! Oh boys!" Trudly and Folly held their chins straight up when they stood up straight. "Boys, I shall make my return to Pyrite now. Do remember that I will be waiting for you to return with the little lady. Am I making myself clear? I won't accept failure from you again, boys. Fuhohoho…"
"You got it!" Folly said.
"Consider it done, Master Miror B, sir!" Trudly said. Miror B turned around and he got into a disco style stance.
"Let the music spin! Let's get it on!" Miror B said as he boogied his way out the door, shaking his groove thing. The three other men followed him outside. Folly stepped forward.
"You, you, you! The last time, you caught me off guard! That's not gonna happen again!" Folly said. He took out his two Pokéballs and threw them both. "Go! Whismur and Lotad!" His two Pokéballs opened and his two Pokémon emerged from inside. Wes took out his Pokéballs and threw them.
"Espeon, Umbreon! Go!" Wes called out. Both of his Pokémon emerged from inside.
"All right, Lotad! Use Razor Leaf! Whismur! Use Disarming Voice!" Folly ordered. Both Pokémon launched their attacks right at Espeon and Umbreon.
"Espeon! Use Confusion!" Wes ordered. Espeon uses Confusion to block their attacks and sent them back right to their owners, dealing some heavy damage. "Umbreon! Use Snarl!" Umbreon unleashed Snarl and lands a hit onto Folly's Pokémon, resulting in a double knockout.
"Awww, blast it! I got tripped up again!" Folly exclaimed as he called back his two Pokémon. Trudly walked up.
"My turn now! I'm not going to end up like Folly," Trudly said, taking two of his Pokéballs and threw them both. Duskull, Spinarak! Go!" His Pokéballs opened up and his two Pokémon emerged from inside, ready to battle. "Duskull! Use Night Shade! Spinarak! Use Poison Sting!"
"Espeon! Use Confusion!" Wes ordered. Espeon uses Confusion to block Spinarak's Poison Sting. "Umbreon! Use Snarl!" Umbreon unleashed Snarl and used it to cut through Duskull's Night Shade.
"Use Shadow Ball, the both of you!" Trudly ordered. Duskull and Spinarak fired Shadow Ball right at their opponents.
"Umbreon! Use Feint Attack on Duskull! Espeon! Use Psybeam on Spinarak!" Wes ordered.
Umbreon vanished for a moment before reappearing and lands a heavy hit on Duskull, resulting in a knockout. Espeon fired Psybeam, hitting Spinarak, dealing some heavy damage. Trudly called them both back.
"Okay, try this out for size!" Trudly said, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Makuhita!" His Pokéball opened and a Makuhita emerged from inside. Rui looked right at Makuhita and saw the black aura coming from its body.
"Wes! It's that one! That Pokémon! Those jerks captured me because I saw that Pokémon! I can see a black aura coming from it. They must have done something to that Pokémon to make the darkness appear all around it!" Rui said.
"Is there anything else I should know about?" Wes asked. Makuhita went and attacked Wes.
"Yes, but be careful! That Pokémon isn't afraid to attack people!" Rui said.
"Is that why you wanted me to get these Pokéballs, Rui?" Wes asked.
"Yes," Rui said.
"I'm not sure if I should do this, because I'm not a Snagger anymore," Wes said.
"I know, Wes! I hate to say this, but there's no other choice. Get that Pokémon back from the bad guys! Please, you have to!" Rui pleaded.
"But I can't..." Wes said.
"You can... Actually, only you can do it!" Rui said.
"So much for my retirement from snagging. Rui is right though, I'm the only one who can do it. I might as well use it for a good cause. Just hope there isn't any rust on me," Wes said.
"Makuhita! Use Shadow Blitz!" Trudly ordered. Makuhita unleashed a dark punch onto Umbreon, dealing some heavy damage. "Use Shadow Rush!" Makuhita then rushes at Espeon with a dark tackle and lands a hit, dealing similar damage.
"Shadow Blitz? Shadow Rush? What the hell is that? There are no such moves!" Wes said.
"There is now! And not only that, but those attacks deals some heavy damage on your Pokémon just like a type weakness!" Trudly said. Wes grits his teeth.
"I won't back away that easily. It's going to take more than what you got to scare me and my Pokémon away!" Wes said.
"Ask and you shall receive! Makuhita! Use Shadow Rush again!" Trudly ordered. Makuhita charges right at Espeon and Umbreon again.
"Dodge it!" Wes called out. The two Eeveelutions dodged Makuhita's attack. The Guts Pokémon growled over how it just missed. "Espeon! Use Return!" Espeon came at Makuhita and lands a hit onto the Guts Pokémon, dealing some damage. "Umbreon! Use Bite!" Umbreon lands a bite onto Makuhita, making it yelp in pain.
"Makuhita! Use Shadow Blitz!" Trudly ordered. Makuhita came at the two Eeveelutions again with a Shadow Blitz this time.
"Espeon! Use Confusion!" Wes ordered. Espeon used Confusion on Makuhita, slamming it down on the ground. Makuhita just got back up on its feet. "Use Snarl!" Umbreon unleashed Snarl, hitting Makuhita. The Guts Pokémon has taken some heavy damage due to being slammed on the ground.
Using the Snag Machine, Wes took out a Pokéball and converted it into a Snag Ball. He threw it right at Makuhita and it flowed right inside, much to Trudly's mismay. The Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch.
"Wh-What?! My Pokémon?!" Trudly exclaimed. "Dammit, but you're good! You snagged my Pokémon!" Folly turned to his partner.
"Hey, what are you saying? You're not supposed to be impressed!" Folly said. He became frantic. "What are we supposed to do? We got flattened again. Miror B's gonna chew us out!"
"What do we do? What is there to do?" Trudly asked.
"Run away!" Folly yelled.
Miror B's henchmen ran out the door just as fast as they could run. Rui hugged Wes again.
"You did it, Wes! You snagged that Pokémon from that goon!" Rui cheered as Wes went to pick up the Pokéball and held it.
"Yeah, but this is just the beginning. I have a feeling that there are other Pokémon that has some nasty surprises for me just like this Makuhita," Wes said.
"I agree. Let's get all of them back from the bad guys!" Rui said. Wes nodded as he grinned.
"No rust on me," Wes said.
Wes and Rui stepped outside and saw the three men whom were with Miror B, waiting for the two of them.
"Somehow, we knew Trudly and Folly would blow it again," the man in green said.
"We never expected you to snag one of our Pokémon from them," the man in red said.
"I told you giving one to those two was a mistake," the man in blue said.
"Yeah," the man in red agreed. "What a waste."
"It looks like we'll have to clean up their mess by taking that girl back with us," the man in green said.
"You're not getting her," Wes defiantly said.
"Can you take us on?" The man in blue asked.
"Three against one isn't exactly a fair fight," the man in green said.
"Then again, fair fights aren't our style," the man in red said.
"Bring it on. I can only hope you put a better fight than those two sttoges," Wes said.
"Be careful what you ask for, punk," the man in blue said. "Verde, Rosso, ready?"
"Ready when you are, Bluno," Rosso and Verde answered.
"All right, boys! Let's do this thing!" Bluno said, taking out a Pokéball. Rosso and Verde took out their own Pokéballs and threw them.
"Go! Bayleef/Quilava/Croconaw!" Rosso, Bluno, and Verde called out. The Pokéballs all opened all at once and out came a Bayleef, a Quilava, and a Croconaw. Rui saw the same black aura coming from their bodies, same as Makuhita.
"Wes, those three Pokémon are giving off the same dark aura as Makuhita!" Rui said.
"Then I'll have to snag all three of them," Wes said. He turned to Espeon and Umbreon. "Go!" Espeon and Umbreon stood in front of their Trainer and waited for his instructions. "Espeon! Use Psybeam! Umbreon! Use Snarl!" Espeon and Umbreon unleashed their attacks right at Bayleef, Quilava, and Croconaw.
"Croconaw! Use Shadow Wave!" Bluno ordered. Croconaw unleashed a wave of darkness and sends it right at Espeon and Umbreon.
"Dodge it!" Wes called out. Espeon and Umbreon dodged the dark wave.
"Bayleef! Use Shadow Mist!" Verde ordered. Bayleef unleashed a mist of darkness, making it harder for Espeon and Umbreon to dodge their attacks.
"Quilava! Use Shadow Rush!" Rosso ordered. Quilava charges at Espeon, landing some heavy damage.
"Croconaw! Use Shadow Rush!" Bluno ordered. Croconaw charged right at Espeon and lands a hit.
"Bayleef! You use Shadow Blitz!" Verde ordered. Bayleef charged right at Umbreon, also landing some damage. Espeon and Umbreon were badly hurt from their attacks, but Bayleef, Quilava, and Croconaw charges right in to finish them off. Wes wasn't easily cornered.
"Espeon! Use Confusion!" Wes ordered. Espeon used Confusion to lift them both up and throw them down. "Now, use Psybeam! Umbreon! Use Snarl!" Both of his partners unleashed their attacks, hitting all three at once. Bayleef gets back on its feet, so Wes took out a Pokéball and converted it into a Snag Ball and threw it. Bayleef flows inside it and it wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. "Got one!"
"My Bayleef!" Verde exclaimed in shock.
"You're gonna pay for that through the nose! Quilava! Use Shadow Rush!" Rosso ordered.
"Croconaw! Use Shadow Rush as well!" Bluno ordered. Both Pokémon charged right at Espeon and Umbreon.
"Psybeam and Snarl again!" Wes ordered. Espeon and Umbreon unleashed Psybeam and Snarl again, hitting the both of them. Wes took out one Pokéball and converted it into a Snag Ball and threw it. Croconaw flows inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Wes takes one more out and converted it into a Snag Ball and threw it. Quilava flows inside and it wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch.
"Croconaw!" Bluno gasped.
"Not my Quilava!" Rosso gasped.
"What did you do those Pokémon?" Rui asked.
"We made those Pokémon into fighting machines by making them close the doors to their hearts," Rosso said. Rui gasped.
"No! You didn't! You artificially closed the door to those poor Pokémon's hearts?!" Rui exclaimed.
"Why?" Wes asked.
"Even if wanted to tell you, it's not going to help you at all," Bluno said.
"This is only the beginning! Word is going to spread like wildfire and the rest of our forces will be coming after you, so I suggest that you watch your backs!" Bluno said.
"Yeah, and we'll be remembering this," Rosso added.
The three men took off running into the desert. Wes turned to Rui and he noticed a grave look of concern on her face.
"Rui, are you okay?" Wes asked.
"No, I'm not okay. I am very troubled by this," Rui said.
"Is what those guys said to you bothering you?" Wes asked.
"Yes, it is. If those guys made those Pokémon close the doors to their hearts, then we have a problem on our hands," Rui said.
"What do you know about this?" Wes asked.
"Well, when I was little, I heard stories about it. They say when a Pokémon closes the door to their hearts, then the darkness within them grows stronger and stronger until it overtakes them, and then they become something completely evil," Rui said.
"And they'll stay like that forever, right?" Wes asked.
"Actually, no, not forever," Rui corrected him. "You see, when a Pokémon closes the door to their hearts, then they can be opened again. And the darkness that was surrounding them are then weakened. That happens when the Pokémon and Trainer spends some time together. Hope is not completely lost for them."
"Then there's hope for Makuhita, Bayleef, Croconaw, and Quilava after all," Wes said.
"Yeah. But we should go. I think that Miror B guy mention he was heading for Pyrite Town, and it's not too far from the city. And that's where I was caught," Rui said.
"Let's go," Wes said, calling back his partners. Wes and Rui started to head for Wes's vehicle and drive off to Pyrite Town for their mission to rescue the Pokémon whom have closed the doors to their hearts.
But what could they be planning for Wes and Rui once word does go around? And will they be able to snag them all and restore the Pokémon to their old selves? The answers will come along soon. Until then, stay tuned...
