Hello everyone I'm back again to bring you another chapter of my story; so far so good, not that much complaining from you about my story. I hope this story takes off as I think it has a bunch of potential; please keep on supporting me and my other works. Now with nothing else to say lets begin.
Legacies and Lightning: Chapter 2
Konoha academy; 1 year later: With Naruto
Naruto was sitting in class eagerly waiting to take his genin exam along with the others; it's been over a year since Yuui, Uzui and Doki left back to Kumo and since then Naruto has been training outside the academy.
In order to make sure that the instructors don't try and sabotage him Naruto has been keeping his training a secret from everybody but the third Hokage. Now Naruto along with the rest of his year were going to take the genin exam again and nobody expected any of the children to pass; so far they only taken the written test and Naruto passed with a 70 out of 100.
'Oh man I can't wait to see the looks on their faces' Naruto thought chuckling to himself 'I can't wait to blow those douche bags Iruka and Mizuki out of the water'. Naruto looked to the 2 chunin instructors Iruka and Mizuki with a mischievous smile; the entire time he's been in the academy neither of them have helped him and they just saw him as a trouble maker, but now it was going to be different.
"All right everyone; now with the written test done lets get to the hard part" Iruka said to the class of nine year olds "time to take the other tests and see if we have any diamonds hiding amongst you". 'Oh who am I kidding, these kids can't even make clones properly' Iruka thought annoyed he even had to do this.
'Oh there's a diamond here alright' Naruto thought rubbing his hands together 'and he's about to out shine all these… dull… rocks… I'm gonna be the best here'. While Naruto was thinking about his lack of knowledge about diamonds there were 2 people looking at him.
One was a young Hyuga girl named Hinata who's been infatuated with him for over a year now; even though Naruto doesn't remember it he saved her from bullies while being beaten up himself.
'I-I may not pass but… I'd like Naruto to pass' Hinata thought blushing and poking her fingers together; Hinata was the heiress to the Hyuga clan although her father Hiash had his doubts. Due to her soft nature she as not built for leadership or combat and had self esteem issues; but she observed Naruto for a long time and idolizes him.
Hinata especially thought Naruto was very good at his lightning jutsu and wondered why he kept training deep in the woods and never used it in class. 'S-show them what you can do Naruto' Hinata thought.
The other person looking at Naruto was Sasuke Uchiha, the 'genius' of the class and the bane of Naruto's life; in Naruto's eyes Sasuke had it all, he had money, a famous clan (even though he's the last one) and top it all off all the girls in the village want him.
Sasuke was the best in the class due to his grades and performance in both physical and martial arts; but over the past year he has been suspicious of Naruto. Naruto was a dunce the first year in the academy, scoring zero's and failing every jutsu and physical test they did; but now things were different.
Naruto was now making D's and C's on his tests and was now able to keep up with Sasuke on the physical tests; although his jutsu was still abysmal. Sasuke narrowed his eyes at Naruto 'what have you been hiding from me' Sasuke thought.
Outside; at the target range: With Naruto
Sasuke threw four shuriken and four kunai at four different targets hitting double bullseyes in all four targets; all the girls in the class started cheering him in, two in particular. Sakura Haruno and Ino Yamanaka were Sasuke's biggest fan girls; both girls were friends until they had a falling out over Sasuke.
Now both girls obsessed about Sasuke to an unhealthy level "Way to go Sasuke" Sakura cheered from the side lines.
"You're the best there is Sasuke" Ino cheered as well; Sasuke hearing this began to walk back with an annoyed look on his face.
'God do they have to be so loud' Sasuke thought as he walked back to the group.
"Ok next one up; Naruto Uzumaki" Iruka said looking to the blonde haired pain in his butt 'oh god I can't wait to see this dumpster fire'. As soon as he said Naruto's name the cheering died down and everyone began to whisper and Naruto got a tic mark.
"Oh so you cheer for the emo pretty boy but not me" Naruto shouted at the crowd of kids "just you watch; I'm gonna make him look like a chump"; all but a few kids started laughing as Naruto turned around. Naruto marched over to the kunai and shuriken on the table and picked up four of each 'ok screw this; I'm going all out' he thought.
Naruto walked over to the ready line and looked at the four targets; Naruto charged his chakra and his kunai and shuriken began to crackle with lightning and the laughter from the crowd died. Naruto threw the eight projectiles and hit the targets in the bullseye; a few seconds later the targets caught on fire as the lightning ignited the rood.
Everyone looked on in shock as they never expected Naruto to pull something like this off; after a few seconds there were three sets of clapping. Hinata Hyuga, Choji Akimichi and Shino Aburame all clapped for Naruto.
"Woah, that was cool" Choji said before looking at his friend "what did you think Shikamaru"; Choji was a large and portly boy from the Akimichi clan, while he wasn't Naruto's friend he wasn't hostile to him.
"What a drag" Shikamaru said; Shikamaru was a lazy and unmotivated boy from the Nara clan and Choji's best friend.
"Lightning chakra; most impressive" Shino said to himself; Shino was a quite and introverted person, Naruto knew nothing about him but he wasn't on his shit list.
"G-great job Na-" Hinata began until a shout echoed.
"Hey that's cheating; he destroyed the targets" Sakura shouted shutting Hinata off.
"Calm down Haruno" Iruka said "Naruto hit the targets, that's the only rule of the exercise". 'But where did he learn lighting jutsu' Iruka thought before looking at Naruto "congrats Naruto, you passed the first test along with the rest of the class".
Naruto smiled and thumbed his nose "sure did" he said as he looked at Sasuke who was fuming along with Sakura and Ino.
"Ok then" Mizuki said stepping up "up next will be the taijutsu portion of the genin test"; Mizuki then looked to Naruto and spoke. "Since Naruto here did the best in target practice he'll go first" Mizuki said and Naruto nodded with a smile; Mizuki smirked at this "do you want it easy… or hard".
"Hard" Naruto said confidently and Mizuki nodded.
'Very well then' Mizuki thought.
20 minutes later
Naruto was standing in the middle of a sparring circle with Kiba Inuzuka on the other side; Kiba was brash, arrogant and rude boy. Kiba constantly made fun of Naruto and used to target him for ridicule; Kiba was also the one who was constantly chosen to fight Naruto in taijutsu practice along with Sasuke because they have clan training.
"Looks like this is going to be a quick match" Kiba said looking at the smaller and frailer Naruto; Naruto however looking at Kiba with a smirk.
"Wanna bet on that" Naruto said and Kiba laughed.
"Why not orphan boy" Kiba said "if I win you have to be my slave for the rest of the time we're in the academy"; Kiba expected Naruto to protest but Naruto shrugged.
"Sure, sounds fair" Naruto said surprising Kiba and everyone else "but if I win… you have to literally kiss my ass in front of the entire class". The kids laughed at the request and Kiba gagged at this but nodded.
"I'll take that bet; only because you have no chance of winning" Kiba said.
Iruka seeing both boys were ready to fight got in the middle, raised his hand and spoke "ok then Naruto Uzumaki vs Kiba Inuzuka" he said "are you ready". Both boys nodded and he dropped his hand "and begin"; Iruka jumped back and Kiba charged in wanting to end the fight quickly.
Kiba cocked back his fist and got ready to throw a punch "take this orphan boy" he shouted as he threw the punch; Naruto seeing this put his plan into action. Naruto dropped to the ground, dodging Kiba's punch and gripping his hands into the dirt.
Naruto leaned forward like he was doing a roll on the ground before quickly rising up feet first using his hand to push his lower body up; Naruto planted a double kick into Kiba's gut knocking the air out of him and sending him stumbling back as Naruto used a capoeira move to break his defenses.
Naruto went to a full hand stand before pushing up and landing on his feet; Naruto charged towards Kiba who barely recovered and put up his defenses. Naruto changed his fighting to boxing and Naruto threw a couple quick jabs towards Kiba; Kiba began to block the jabs but they were coming in to fast. One jab got through and nailed Kiba in the nose making him see stars; seeing an opportunity Naruto drove a hard straight into Kiba's gut before using his other hand to deliver an uppercut.
Naruto wanting to finish strong switched it up and went into 'wrestling mode'; Naruto went behind Kiba and grabbed him around the waist and picked him up. Naruto fell backwards and proceeded to suplex Kiba; Kiba hit the ground hard and was knocked out and everyone looked stunned at this.
Naruto used boxing, wrestling and another martial art that no one has seen before; Iruka went over to Kiba and cracked some smelling salts. Iruka put them to Kiba's nose waking him up.
"Oh man that burns" Kiba shouted grabbing his nose; Kiba shook his head and looked around and saw he was on the ground "what happened". Iruka just patted his shoulder and smiled.
"Naruto won" Iruka said making everyone in the surrounding crowd begin to murmur.
"What no way" Kiba shouted and Naruto chuckled.
"Yes way dog breath" Naruto said with a confident smile "now then… about our wager"; Kiba paled and Iruka patted his shoulder once more.
"A real man keeps his word Kiba" Iruka said and Kiba looked at Naruto and gulped in fear.
1 hour later
Kiba was at the classroom window using some mouthwash to clean his mouth out for the last 30 minutes; Kiba had to kiss Naruto's ass in front of the entire class. Kiba finished the entire bottle but the feeling wasn't going away; Kiba spun around and looked at Naruto who was sitting in his seat.
"You're gonna pay for that" Kiba said in a snarl; Naruto held his nose and spoke.
"Man Kiba, I can smell your breath from here" Naruto said making the other kids laugh "I mean the scent of my butt probably made it a little bit more manageable but it still reeks like dog food".
Kiba began to growl and grow red as now he was the but of the joke and not Naruto.
"Settle down Kiba; and get back to your seat" Iruka said and Kiba nodded as he went to his seat "ok then, now out off all the students here, only half are going to take the final test". "We are going to go in alphabetical order; so please wait your turn" Iruka said and Naruto groaned as he slammed his head on the table.
'Come on man' Naruto thought as he wanted to get this done as soon as possible; Naruto waited as student after student failed. Most got the transformation jutsu right but failed the other justu's; Sasuke, Sakura, Hinata and Shikamaru all did the substitution jutsu well but either couldn't make clones or made to few so they didn't pass.
Finally it was all down to Naruto as he was the last in line "Ok Naruto, come on up" Iruka said and Naruto hopped out of his seat and jogged down to the front of the class 'I wonder what he's going to do now'. When Naruto was in front no one said a word as he stood ready to perform the test "ok Naruto, first you're going to use the transformation jutsu, then the clone jutsu and then the substitution jutsu".
"Ok then" Naruto said as he went through hand signs "transform" Naruto shouted as he went up into a puff of smoke; everyone expected Naruto to turn into a horrible version of the Hokage or a nude girl but to their surprise Naruto turned into someone else. Naruto transformed into Yuui and stood there with a smile on his "transformation complete" he said in Yuui's voice before canceling it.
"Uh… Naruto, who was that" Iruka asked.
"A good friend" Naruto said simply not wanting to explain "next is the clone jutsu right".
"Yes Naruto; you have to make at least 5 clones" Iruka said and Naruto nodded.
"Does it matter what kind of clones" Naruto asked and Iruka raised an eyebrow.
"Uh, no; why" Iruka asked and Naruto went through hands signs which were not the ones for the clone jutsu; Naruto stopped and shouted "Lightning clone jutsu". 10 sparks flew off Naruto and hit the ground and took shape; now there were 11 Naruto's standing in front of the now slack jawed class "how about this Iruka sensei" he said.
Iruka was wide eyed and smiled "Naruto, that's an elemental clone; good job, you pass the clone test" Naruto smiled and nodded "now all you have to do is the substitution jutsu". "Ok what are you going to use" Iruka asked and Naruto pointed to one of his clones.
"Him right there" Naruto said and Iruka nodded as he picked up an wooden kunai and got ready.
"Ok Naruto, get ready" Iruka said; Naruto nodded and Iruka threw the kunai towards Naruto. Naruto was hit by the kunai and exploded into lighting and the clone Naruto pointed at earlier walked forward.
"Substitution complete" Naruto said with a smile and Iruka smiled as well.
"Naruto, that was unbelievable; you passed" Iruka said shocking the entire room; Sasuke, Kiba, Sakura and Ino all looked at Naruto in anger while Hinata, Choji and Shino looked on impressed. Iruka reached into his pocket and pulled out a forehead protector and looked at it "I never thought I'd give one of these out today" Iruka said as he handed it to Naruto who took it eagerly "congratulations Naruto, you are the first and only graduate of the year".
"Yeah" Naruto shouted as he jumped into the air; most of the class looked on unsure how the class clown was able to pass before them and some even felt resentment towards him. Naruto turned around and held out the forehead protector "suck it losers; some of you thought I was an idiot, well look who's the idiots now" he said "although there are some people I'd like to say thanks for not putting me down".
Naruto looked at Hinata, Choji and Shino in particular and looked to Iruka as he put on his new forehead protector "so what now Iruka sensei" he asked and Iruka smiled.
"Come by tomorrow at noon and we'll go to Lord Hokage and figure it out from there" Iruka said and Naruto nodded "go home and celebrate Naruto; you earned it".
"Alright then" Naruto said as he began to walk out but someone spoke up.
"Hey Naruto, hold up" Choji shouted as he walked down and digging into his pocket; he pulled out a card and handed it to Naruto "here you go, an Akimichi restaurant gift card; get a quarter off your first meal and earn points to get a free meal".
"Thanks Choji; I appreciate it man" Naruto said as he took the card "Sorry we couldn't hang out much; it's just I've been busy and stuff".
"No problem Naruto; take care" Choji said as he patted Naruto's shoulder and walked back.
Shino then got up and walked over "congratulations" he said simply and Naruto went wide eyed.
"Oh my god you can talk" Naruto said making the class sweat drop "thanks Shino, I appreciate it; I don't know you… like at all, but I thought your sunglasses looked cool".
"Much obliged" Shino said in his monotone voice before turning around and walking away.
Lastly Hinata walked down and began to stutter "um…um" Hinata said blushing while poking her fingers "I-I'll catch up to you"; Naruto hearing this went wide eyed.
"Hinata… no way" Naruto said and Hinata began to feel really embarrassed "you're calling me out"; Hinata looked at him wide eyed.
"What" Hinata said.
"You wanna be my rival because I beat you" Naruto said pointing at her with a smile "well I accept; when you become stronger we'll both compete to see who is better".
Sasuke heard this and looked at Naruto 'what, he's choosing that Hyuga crybaby as his rival' he thought 'I'm an Uchiha, I'm dozens of times better than some marshmallow hearted princess like her'.
"T-t-" Hinata couldn't find the words so she just swallowed hard "that sounds fine to me"; Hinata had completely blown her chance to talk to Naruto and began to jog to her seat.
"Sounds like a deal; get stronger Hinata, and one day we can be friends" Naruto said and Hinata paused as she sat down.
'R-really' Hinata thought before nodding "okay"; Hinata smiled as now Naruto had recognized her, even though it was a misunderstanding.
"Ok then; catch you guys later" Naruto said as he walked out of the room and Iruka began to instruct the class; as he did so Mizuki looked at Naruto leave with narrowed eyed.
'There isn't going to be a tomorrow demon boy' Mizuki thought in anger 'I'll see to that personally'.
Later that night: With Naruto
Naruto was walking home after celebrating at Ichiraku's and showing Teuchi and Ayame his new forehead protector; Naruto was walking home like he was the king of the world as for the first time he had something to be proud of.
'Hehehe, I'm a real ninja now' Naruto thought as he took a right and began to walk by a training ground; as he walked he heard 'whooshing' in the air and he turned around to see what it was. Naruto was there was a fuma shuriken coming towards him and was only a few feet away; Naruto in a panic ducked under the fuma shuriken and began to run into the training ground.
Naruto was running at full speed across the grassy ground as he tried to escape whoever was attacking him 'what the heck, what did I do now' Naruto thought; Naruto kept running until something landed in front of him.
Mizuki now in front of Naruto held a fuma shuriken and attempted to cut Naruto but Naruto jumped away and gained some distance "Mizuki sensei; what the heck are you doing" he shouted and Mizuki scowled.
"Getting rid of some trash" Mizuki said and Naruto scowled "since you're about to die, wanna know why the village hates you"; Naruto hearing this spoke up.
"What is it" Naruto said and Mizuki smirked.
"Nine years ago after the attack on Konoha the fourth Hokage sealed the nine tailed fox inside a child" Mizuki said and Naruto went wide eyed "he sealed it into you; you're the nine tailed fox". Naruto was stunned upon hearing this "the Hokage has been keeping this from you; he's been lying to you your entire life" he said.
Naruto began to shake and cry and Mizuki thought he was scared; however Naruto looked up and Mizuki saw nothing but anger in his eyes "that's why the village hates me; for something that happened when I was a baby" Naruto shouted. "I'll deal with Ji-ji later; but first I gotta deal with you" Naruto said as he reached into his pocket; Naruto pulled out his white glove and put it on and making a fist.
Lighting began to dance across the knuckles like a taser and Mizuki realized he might have miscalculated "I've been holding back for an entire year; never showing the jutsu I've learned to anyone" Naruto said "looks like you'll be the first one to ever see them" Naruto said as he got into a boxing stance.
"Come at me you turkey; time for you to learn this lesson the hard way" Naruto said and Mizuki scowled.
"Bring it brat" Mizuki shouted.
Naruto and Mizuki both charged at each other as Naruto's first battle was underway.
