Welcome everyone. First we're going to wrap up the rest of the previous episode and then we get to go on to the wedding of the century. That's right. As of this chapter, Barry and Caitlin will have been married. It's been a really long journey but I'm so happy we all get to spend this together. My co-authors deserve some credit. Brightburn1985 and ThomasMarieAmell2.0. Thank you guys.

For now, they would have to hold off on protecting Barry. Mina was the main problem they had to focus on.
"The museum is moving the artifacts. We're tracking it with the satellite. If anything happens, we'll know and you'll spring into action."
An alert went off that something had happened. "Speak and be heard." Cisco commented on the strange timing. "There's a disturbance further up the street from where the truck is. Could be worth checking out."
"Alright I'm on my way." Barry said.
"We both are," Ralph added, stripping out of his outer clothes to show the suit underneath.
"Fine, but remember, we protect the citizens before catching the bad guys." Barry tried to remind him.
"Must you take the fun out of everything?"
Barry rolled his eyes in frustration but grabbed onto Ralph and ran the both of them to the scene.
"So what's going on over there?" Cisco asked.
"I don't see anything," Barry commented but soon felt a shake in the ground.
"What was that?" Ralph felt it too. "Was that an earthquake?"
"No," Barry said as he looked up the street to see a dust cloud, and in that dust cloud… "It's a stampede!"
Animals of all kinds, and made of different materials were charging together down the street. Several people had gotten out of their cars in order to escape the creatures. One of the drivers was the one driving the truck for the museum, leaving the truck unattended.
"I'll get these people out of here, guard the truck," Barry commanded and ran off to get people out of the way.
"This oughta be easy," Ralph commented and headed for the truck, but saw the truck had been turned on with a female figure in the driving seat. That had to be Mina. "Okay, guess not."
The truck was about to drive away. "Oh no you don't. Arms don't fail me now." Ralph mumbled to himself and stretched his arms forward. It was a huge surprise though when they did just that and extended so Ralph now had a tight grip on the back of the truck. The tires were screeching as smoke was appearing with the truck being held in place and unable to go anywhere. The truck swerved left and right trying to get out of Ralph's grip and knocked into a lamp post.
Ralph paid the lamp post no mind, so he didn't notice that a little girl was frozen in fear just as the lamp post fell on her. The girl's scream startled Ralph, and with a quick look Ralph instantly regretted. That little girl was hurt because he didn't care enough to save her.
That realization was enough for Ralph's grip to loosen and the truck sprung free, but instantly crashed and turned on its side with the sudden speed.
Barry returned in a burst of light and took in the scene. A fallen lamp post that was pinning a little girl to the street and an overturned truck with Ralph standing in the middle of it all. "What did you do?"
Ralph surveyed his surroundings from the little girl to the unconscious villainess. "I failed."
"Chayton's in custody, and we're going to make sure she stays that way. The most serious injury was the little girl who had a lamp post fall on her. A hairline fracture on her arm. She's being treated at the hospital." Joe reported.
"It was all my fault. I could have saved her." Ralph sighed.
"You could have, but then Chayton could have escaped. You made a choice, and it's not the one I would have chosen, but things could have gone a lot worse," Barry said. "You did good out there."
"Not good enough," Ralph said dejectedly and walked away.
"Poor Ralph, but now he understands the seriousness that comes with being a hero. It's not all fun and games," Caitlin said.
"I hate it had to be this way, but it's a step forward. He'll be fine eventually." Cisco commented.
"Is there anything else to add?" Barry asked.
"We had to send Chayton off to a mental health facility." Joe said.
"Why? She doesn't have reports of any mental illness." Caitlin asked.
"Because the moment she woke up and saw where she was, she was screaming. Begging us to kill her, she was hysterical. She tried to steal a gun to do it herself, but we knocked her out before it came to that."
Everybody had looks of confusion on their faces. This didn't seem anything like the anthropology professor who had been so strong willed that she resorted to robbery to preserve her people's culture.
"I know, it confuses us too, but protocol forces us to at least send her to get a psych evaluation, and they'd be better equipped to handle her if she gets into any more trouble."
"Well keep an eye on her. She knows things that could shed some light on the guy who's coming after me." Barry said.
"Let's not worry about that. Our wedding is right around the corner. That's something to be worried about." Caitlin said.
"Barry, we have a problem." Caitlin said over the monitors.
"Yeah, I know." Barry agreed as he was chasing down a couple bank robbers. "I'm dealing with it right now."
"What? No, that barely qualifies as a two on the danger scale." Caitlin said. "I'm talking about how we're two days away from our wedding and not everybody has sent in their RSVP yet."
"Well I wouldn't worry about that." Barry said as he dropped the criminals off at the police station. "I'm sure they'll get around to it. Who are we missing?"
"Hey Oliver," Felicity called out on the comms.
"Felicity, now is not the time for a conversation." Oliver replied as he was being shot at.
"You're not that busy. I just need to know whether we're going to Caitlin and Barry's wedding. We haven't sent in our RSVP yet."
"Of course we're going. Now bye," Oliver said and started firing his arrows at the ones pointing guns at him.
"Guys, there's something really important we need to talk about." Jax said as he flew in the sky.
"What could you possibly need to talk about right now?" Sara asked as she was chasing down a pterodactyl in the ship.
"I still haven't gotten to sending in our RSVP for Barry and Caitlin's wedding. Who's going there again?"
"Trust me Jefferson, nobody is going to be missing that wedding for the world." Stein commented in his head.
"Yeah, it's going to be the wedding of the century." Ray agreed.
"There just better be an open bar." Mick grumbled as he roasted a dodo bird before it got loose.
"Kara, are you busy?" Winn asked the superhero.
"Nothing important. What's up?" Kara replied.
"Wait, you're taking on an alien right now. I think this can wait." Winn realized.
"No, I can talk. Seriously, what's going on?"
"Alright, if you're sure. I found this wedding invite on your desk. It's for that Barry guy that helped us out when we were first starting. You still haven't checked if you're going or not."
"I'm definitely going. Just haven't had the time to send it back. I'll do that once I'm done here." Kara said.
"Alright, just wanted to make sure."
"So everybody is here. I told you not to worry." Barry said smugly. He looked at the crowd of people who had come for their wedding. People like his boss, David Singh, and even his ex-girlfriend who agreed to be friends, Patty Spivot.
"Yes yes. Of course you were right. Let's just enjoy the dinner rehearsal and then wake up to get married tomorrow."
"I just have one small question to ask." Barry said. Caitlin nodded for him to go ahead. "Why is the rehearsal dinner at Jitters?"
"It's the best place for it. There's so much history here that it would have felt wrong to-"
"You spent too much on the rest of the wedding to get someplace else."
"I don't get why you're so stingy with your money. It's not like you couldn't afford it and provide for the rest of our lives and any future grandchildren we'll have." Caitlin didn't deny it.
"We set a budget, we are going to stick by it. Besides, by this time tomorrow, that money will also be your money, and you can spend it in any way you want. So long as we talk about it."
"Oh my god, you still think of it as your money. You just said it was going to be our money, but you're going to be constantly checking on how I'm going to spend it."
"Well obviously I'm not going to bother with small purchases like clothes or food, but I think we should be talking about it if it's something like a boat, or an island."
"What kind of person do you think I am? I'm not going to be spending my newfound wealth willy-nilly. I am just a gold-digger to you aren't I?"
"Of course not! You make a decent living yourself. You never needed me in that department."
"Of course you would know. You're the one signing off on my paychecks."
"For now. Once we get married, you are going to be the co-owner of STAR. You'll be writing your own checks."
"Wow, the more things change, the more things stay the same." Cisco commented as he walked in on their argument.
"Hey Cisco," they both said.
"You guys couldn't help but get one more stupid fight in before the wedding could you?"
"I see a lot more stupid fights in the future Cisco." Barry said.
"Yeah, over who washes the dishes, who's going to take care of the kids in the middle of the night." Caitlin listed.
"Yeah? Can't wait. It's Baracus by the way." Cisco added.
"What?"
"My full name. Francisco Baracus Ramon. For your first born."
"What if we have a girl?" Caitlin asked.
"It's a 50/50 chance. But we're getting ahead of ourselves. Let's go enjoy this dinner. You guys really went all out here. Jitters was the perfect place for this with everything that's happened for us between these walls. Can't wait for tomorrow."
"See?!" Caitlin exclaimed. "Somebody gets it."
"We'll join you in a second. We just have to finish our conversation." Barry said.
"We do?" Caitlin asked dubiously, Barry nodded in response.
"I'll make sure to tell everyone it's going to be a while. Before I go though, I'm gonna tell you guys something I've never shared with anyone before." Cisco took a deep breath, acting extremely serious.
"Francisco is actually a girl's name."
Barry and Caitlin both snorted in amusement at his comment. "We are not going to name our daughter Francisco."
"Well then you better hope for a boy, because you promised to name your first born after me, the godfather."
"We never promised anything!" Barry and Caitlin shouted after Cisco left.
"Listen Caitlin, about before-"
"I'm sorry, you were right. Just because we're gonna share a bank account doesn't mean we don't need to talk about it, but you never seemed bothered by the fact you had so much of it and no idea what to do with it."
"No, I'm sorry that I made you feel as if you were taking advantage of me. We're getting married because we love each other, not how much each of us brings to the table. I'm more than happy to spend everything for you because you deserve the world. Obviously there's more to discuss, but now is not the time.
"I love you." Caitlin smiled and wrapped her arms around Barry.
"I'd hope so, otherwise you just cost me a fortune for nothing but sex." Barry joked. "Then again…"
Caitlin slapped him. "You're such a jerk Fleet Feet."
"I love you too Mrs. Frosty." Barry leaned in and captured her lips with his.
The morning of the wedding came, and nobody was more excited or nervous than the happy couple.
Everybody was making their way to the church. People were finding their seats. The bridesmaids and groomsmen were getting dressed and making sure the groom and bride weren't going to chicken out on the happiest day of their lives.
"Just relax." Felicity said. "There aren't two people more in love than you and Barry. This is something that was always going to happen from the moment you two met."
"Sure you can say that in confidence. You're not the one that's going to be walking down the aisle to see whether he's going to be up there or not." Caitlin said nervously. "What if this was a mistake? What if we're moving too fast? We've barely dated for a year."
"It's like you said before, it's just writing on a piece of paper. It doesn't mean anything, it just makes things official."
"What does that mean?! It doesn't mean anything but it's official? This is a legally binding union, but it doesn't mean anything? What are you talking about? If it doesn't mean anything, maybe marriage is pointless and we never should've done this in the first place."
"No! No. Cisco will kill me if I don't get you up there. You and Barry have been in love for so long, before you even got together. Your relationship is so much longer than just the past year."
"You really think this isn't too soon?" Caitlin asked dubiously.
"Love doesn't have a timestamp. Besides, you don't need to worry. Barry loves you. He proposed to you,"
"Well actually I-" Caitlin tried to say
"You are the one he wants to spend the rest of his life with. Do you have any idea how lucky you are to find the one for you?" Felicity continued as though Caitlin hadn't said anything.
"Hey, how's it going in here?" Cisco popped his head in the door.
"Just a little pre-wedding jitters. Nothing to worry about." Felicity said.
"Wow, Caitlin. You look beautiful. You and Barry are so lucky to be getting married today." Cisco commented.
"See?! That's exactly what I said. Caitlin has nothing to worry about. She's marrying a great guy who's going to take care of her and vice versa."
Caitlin took a deep breath to calm herself. "Okay, thanks guys. How's Barry doing?"
"Little nervous, but the excited kind. Wedding starts in ten minutes. Are you going to be ready for that?"
Caitlin nodded. "Bring it on. Today is going to be the happiest day of my life, and there's nothing that could bring me down."
"What do I always say? Never challenge the universe. You're begging the world to ruin this day. Don't say that again. Maybe the universe didn't hear." Cisco scolded her.
"Oh Cisco, those things don't happen. You watch too much TV." Felicity said.
"Go check on Barry. And while you're out, could you make sure the band is all set up? Kara said she's going to be singing a song as soon as the ceremony starts as a gift for us."
"No problem, but I wouldn't worry about Barry. Us guys, we don't worry about these things too much." Cisco said.
As if the universe heard his challenge, Oliver came in at that moment. "Cisco, I can't take Barry's frantic shouts that he can't wear his sky blue tie and is making everyone go look for a baby blue tie. It's your turn,"
The girls looked at Cisco with smug smirks, but Cisco responded with his own. "Universe. Be on your toes. You've jinxed your wedding."
"Okay guys, get out. Let the bride have a moment to herself before the biggest moment of her life." Felicity shooed the boys out of the room. "Can you believe him?"
"What if he's right?" Caitlin asked in a frantic tone.
"Come again?"
"What if I just jinxed my wedding? We need to call this off. If anything goes wrong, it'll be because of me."
Felicity grabbed Caitlin's shoulders. "Hey, look at me. Today is your wedding day. You are not going to let something as simple as the universe stop you. So you are going to go out there, and look gorgeous as you say your wedding vows and become husband and wife."
Caitlin nodded her head. "I can do this. I can totally do this."
Felicity nodded along as encouragement.
"I can't do this. Something is going to go wrong with this wedding. I can feel it. I challenged the universe."
"What's the worst that could happen? What could possibly happen to make your wedding go horribly wrong?"
The doors opened, and the bridesmaids were flowing through. Barry was standing at the end with a smile of anticipation on his face. Joe was by his side with a proud look on his face.
"I wish your family could be here with you today." Joe whispered.
"They are," Barry replied with a small nod and a significant look in his eyes when he turned to face Joe.
The music began, and Kara started to sing the song she'd selected.
She makes him happy, whether he knows it or not
They should be happy, that's what we said from the start
They are so happy
Knowing she is the one that he wants for the rest of his days
For the rest of his days, she's all of his days
She's looking so cool, he's looking so fly
Can't deny that when he's staring her down and dead in the eye
He wants to try to be the person she wants the person she needs
It's hard to conceive that the both you could make you both happy
We're happy knowing it's finally time
The grass is greener on the other side
The more I think the more I wish that we could stay here for hours and just reminisce
Ooh-ooh
She's looking so fresh, it's catching his eye
Why oh why did you not see this before
The girl you adore was in front of you to see
And now to take a step back and look in your eyes
And ask why it took so long to see you're meant to be
We're happy knowing it's finally time
The grass is greener on the other side
The more I think the more I wish that we could stay here for hours and just reminisce
On the good, the bad, the ugly
The smiles, the laughs, the funny
Oh, the things you put each other through
It's for you, for you, for you
He makes her happy, whether she knows it or not
They should be happy, that's what we said from the start
They are so happy
Knowing he is the one that she wants for the rest of her days
For the rest of her days
We're happy knowing it's finally time
The grass is greener on the other side
The more I think the more I wish that we could stay here for hours and just reminisce
Ooh-ooh
As the song ended and everyone applauded, Caitlin had made her way down the aisle and took her position right beside Barry.
The officiator looked at the two with a happy smile. "Dearly beloved. We are gathered here today to join Bartholomew Henry Allen and Caitlin Snow, in holy matrimony. Seeing you all here today, it's clear to me how much these two mean to so many people. And I truly believe their love will last for all time. I understand the two of you have written your own vows?"
They both nodded, and Barry went forward to start with his first. "Caitlin, Mrs. Frosty, apparently everybody called it. We're standing here, about to be married and start the rest of our lives together. We've been through so much together that I can't imagine a future where you're not in it. You are my constant beacon of light in the darkness of the future unknown. You're not going to make it easy for me. You're going to make me fight for it every step of the way, but that's what makes you amazing. You won't let me get away with anything, and that's what I love about you."
There were a few sniffles at the touching words, and they were waiting for Caitlin to continue.
"This is why the lady should go first when you're marrying a big sap." Caitlin said, while wiping away a few stray tears.
Everybody chuckled at the snide remark, but patiently waited for Caitlin to compose herself.
"Barry, Fleet Feet, when we met, I was in a dark place, and I was angry, and I took that anger out on you. That wasn't fair of me, and I regret it, but instead of treating me like a piece of glass that's about to shatter, you let me have it. And it's taken me this long to say that I really appreciated it. Because that was the first time in a long time that things started getting back to something of normalcy for me. I had a long way to go, and my defenses were up, but you stubbornly clung on and wouldn't let go, and I am so glad you did. You thawed the ice in my heart, and somehow wormed your way into my affections. We were on a frustrating path to get to where we are today, but I would take all that pain again, because it got me here. I love you Barry, for the rest of my life."
"Now is the time where I ask for anyone to voice their objections to this union, but looking at all of you, I see there is no reason to ask, so let's get on." The officiator smiled at the crowd. "Do you, Bartholomew Henry Allen, take Caitlin Snow to be your lawfully wedded wife? In sickness and in health for as long as you both shall live?"
"I do." Barry said, his eyes fixed onto Caitlin.
"And do you, Caitlin Snow, take Bartholomew Henry Allen to be your lawfully wedded husband? In sickness and in health for as long as you both shall live?"
"I do." Caitlin said in such a soft, yet at the same time clear, voice as the both of them waited for the rest of their lives to begin.
"Then by the power invested in me, I now announce you as man and wife. You-" the officiator said, but at that moment, he was turned to ash with the strike of two laser visions.
Everybody turned in a panic to see what happened. Several people in black and red uniforms and masks with a logo came in with guns pointed at them. All but three were. Each of those three were standing at the forefront. One was floating in the air with blonde locks flowing out of her mask. The other held a bow and arrow pointed at them. The final wasn't showing any specific weapon, but the way he carried himself exuded a sense of authority and power.
Caitlin looked at the symbol all of them were wearing. It was designed as SS, but she vaguely recognized it as one of the alternate symbols of the "Nazis?"
"I hate Nazis," Barry, Kara, and Oliver all grumbled together.
As soon as the guns began firing, everybody sprung into action. Some of them were rounding the normal guests and escorting them out of the church. Others were taking on the grunts.
Caitlin slowly turned her head around to face Felicity. "And you said, 'What could possibly go wrong?' How about Nazis crashing my wedding?"
"Okay, you are the one who jinxed your own wedding. This is not on me. Besides, technically you and Barry have been declared as man and wife. You're married, which means the wedding's over."
"This is my wedding! And I am not going to let something like the Nazis ruin it!" Caitlin let herself feel the anger and her transformation began with the glowing eyes, the bleached hair, and blue lips.
Thrusting her hands out, a cold stream of mist enveloped several grunts at once, leaving them encased in a solid block of ice.
Barry nudged Oliver and gestured to Caitlin. "That's my wife right there."
"Yeah," Oliver looked as Caitlin mentally controlled the giant blocks of ice with Nazis in them and ramming them into other Nazis and sometimes using them as shields from bullets. "Quite a catch you got there."
Kara soared through the air after the other flying woman, but the mysterious flyer proved just as capable as their resident Girl of Steel.
A black arrow was fired and Barry immediately caught it before it could reach Oliver.
The black and red archer continued shooting arrows, but Oliver grabbed one of the fallen guns and used it to bat away the arrows while trying to get a few shots in as well.
Barry rushed off to help, but the sudden appearance of red lightning entered his eye. There was a speedster among them. And so the chase began.
The two ran around the church, neither able to gain an advantage. Sometimes they would go at each other and try to pummel the other, but still neither of them proved superior in combat.
Eventually, once the civilians had gotten out of the way, the rest of the heroes joined in and the Nazis numbers began to whittle down. The leaders were forced to abandon and retreat, taking as many of their soldiers with them.
Everyone paused to catch their breath as they looked to the exit where the Nazis had left. "What was that?" Kara asked.
Nobody had a good answer.
"That ended in a disaster, but not unexpected." the Nazi speedster said through his mask.
"So why did we do it?" said the archer.
"We did it to gauge their reactions. Collect information on the target. It was a strategic decision we all agreed to." the woman stated.
"And what do we have that's of any use? Aside from the loss of the element of surprise?"
"Their mindset. The heroes of this Earth do not function as a working unit. There is too much freedom, too much independence. Despite their success in this battle, in the long run, the war will be ours." said the speedster. "Besides, the element of surprise is a tactic for the weak and desperate. Is that what you're calling us?"
"No, of course not. But this situation is still unknown, and every advantage would be helpful."
"Surprise only lasts for one moment. For a speedster like me, you have more than you could ever need."
Nothing too surprising in this chapter, but like I said, this is only the beginning. Technically I consider the wedding complete, but they're married either way, so it doesn't matter. What do you think? Did Caitlin jinx her wedding? Or not since they were pronounced man and wife before the officiator died?
The song is Happy by nevershoutnever with a few edits to better tie in to Caitlin and Barry. It's a beautiful song that once I heard, I knew I wanted it to be in the wedding.
The Nazis are here, but they're not here to take Kara's heart. Overgirl is not suffering from some degenerative disease. They're here for another reason. And I am going to make this clear right now. I don't consider the Nazis the bad guys in this scenario. They are just doing what's expected of them. I'll elaborate that more in the future. For now, I'll leave you to your thoughts.
See you next week.
