The living room of the Titans Tower was alive with excitement as the team settled in for a movie night. The room was dimly lit, a giant projector screen set up at the front, and a large bowl of popcorn sat in front of the couch, slowly diminishing as the Titans devoured it. Tonight's feature? As Above, So Below, the latest James Bond film starring Bruce Wayne.
As the opening credits rolled and the haunting melody of Lana Del Rey's "24" filled the room, Starfire sat on the edge of her seat, her bright green eyes wide with anticipation. She had been talking about this movie for weeks, ever since she'd seen the trailer.
"Oh, this is going to be glorious!" Starfire beamed, her voice full of excitement. "Bruce Wayne as James Bond an Earth man of many talents!"
Robin, sitting beside her with a fond smile, gave a mock sigh. "You've talked about this movie nonstop, Star. I'm starting to wonder if you like Wayne as Bond more than you like me as Robin."
Starfire turned to him with a warm, reassuring smile and squeezed his hand. "Oh no, Robin! You are my most favored of heroes! But this Bond character—he is intriguing in a very different way."
Beast Boy, lounging on the other side of the couch, chuckled and grabbed another handful of popcorn. "Yeah, sure, Star. You just like the tuxedo. Who knew Bruce Wayne could pull off the whole 'international spy' thing?"
Cyborg, already engrossed in the visuals, added, "You have to admit, Wayne kinda nails the role. Look at him! That's some serious charisma right there." He gestured toward the screen, where Bruce Wayne's James Bond was slipping through shadows and taking out guards with quiet, lethal precision.
Raven, who had been sitting quietly with a book in her lap, raised an eyebrow. "I still think the whole dream machine plot is a little far-fetched for a Bond movie. It's more like something out of Inception than 007."
"Oh, come on, Rae," Beast Boy said, grinning. "Dreams, secret agents, Bruce Wayne as Bond? It's perfect. Besides, the way the dream world keeps changing? It's awesome. You never know what's real!"
As the scene shifted to a high-speed chase through a dreamscape, where Bond's Aston Martin seamlessly drove through a London street that morphed into a desert, Starfire leaned toward Robin, her voice bubbling with excitement. "Robin! I have had the most delightful idea for Halloween this year."
"Oh yeah? What's that?" Robin replied, his eyes still on the screen as Bond's car dodged explosions.
Starfire's eyes sparkled with mischief. "We should dress as the characters from this film! I shall be the James Bond, and you can be my Moneypenny!"
Robin nearly choked on his drink. "Wait—Moneypenny? Seriously? You want me to be Moneypenny?"
Beast Boy burst out laughing, nearly spilling popcorn everywhere. "Dude, I can totally see it! You'd make the best Moneypenny! 'Yes, Mr. Bond, how can I assist you today?'"
Robin flushed, trying to keep his cool. "Fine, Star. I'll be Moneypenny," he said, giving her a teasing grin.
"But only if you promise to save the world while I wait back at headquarters, sipping tea and answering the phone."
Starfire's face lit up. "Oh, yes! That sounds most fun!"
She hugged him tightly. "You will be the perfect Moneypenny!"
Cyborg, wiping tears of laughter from his eyes, leaned over to Robin. "I can hook you up with a nice headset for your Moneypenny look. Maybe even get you some fake glasses to complete the whole 'secretary' vibe."
Robin shook his head, chuckling. "You guys are never going to let this go, are you?"
"Nope!" Beast Boy and Cyborg chimed in unison.
As the film progressed, Bruce Wayne's Bond entered the dream world, navigating surreal landscapes and battling foes conjured from his own subconscious.
The action scenes were intense, the special effects mesmerizing, and the psychological tension palpable.
"I must say," Raven muttered, watching as Bond outsmarted the villain's dream trap.
"Bruce Wayne actually brings a level of introspection to Bond that the other actors didn't. He's not just suave and reckless; there's something deeper about him."
Starfire nodded enthusiastically. "
Yes! He carries the weight of his past, and it gives him strength in the dream world. Much like you, Robin!"
Robin looked at Starfire, his heart swelling a little at the comparison.
"Well, I guess I can see that. Wayne does know how to use his past to his advantage."
As the film reached its climax, with Bond confronting the villain in a dreamscape that shifted from a burning city to a collapsing star, Starfire leaned closer to Robin, her voice soft.
"I think you and I would make a very fine spy team, Robin. You would be most excellent at deciphering the complex plots, while I would engage the enemies in combat."
Robin smiled, placing his arm around her shoulders. "You're already the best teammate I could ask for, Star."
As the credits rolled and Lana Del Rey's haunting voice faded out, Beast Boy stretched and let out a contented sigh. "Man, that was epic. Bruce Wayne totally nailed it."
Cyborg nodded in agreement. "Yeah, he made Bond darker, but in a way that felt... real."
Raven closed her book, seemingly satisfied. "It wasn't bad. A little heavy on the dream symbolism, but it worked."
Starfire, still glowing from the excitement, turned to Robin with a beaming smile. "So, it is agreed then—this Halloween, we shall become Bond and Moneypenny!"
Robin shook his head, laughing. "Fine, Star. But only if I get to answer the phone with a British accent."
The rest of the Titans burst out laughing, imagining Robin's serious demeanor as the ever-efficient Moneypenny. And as the night wound down, the team continued to chat about the movie, all secretly looking forward to seeing what Starfire and Robin would look like as their new favorite spy duo.
Robin was thankfull that Starfire was not a fan of the Connery films, cause then there was a chance she'd suggest Pussy Galore!
