And we're back with another chapter of "Through the Rough"! Last time we left off, we got some interesting story threads starting up as the Internship Arc is on the horizon! Not to mention that Rebecca discovered how to use her 'Reverse' ability, with the knowledge of stealing a kiss from Izuku of course...

Now it's time for us to move along! Here's the newest chapter!

"It's time for you all to pick some hero names," Shota told the class that morning, having fully recovered from his injuries thanks to Recovery Girl and Sister's treatment, though he did have a few scars.

"ALRIGHT! SOME AWESOME HERO STUFF!" many of the students exclaimed excitedly, including Rebecca. For the longest time, she had dreamt about having her very own codename while working as a hero, becoming famous and earning a lot of money. In a way, she was kind of like Ochaco in how she wanted to get money out of hero work. But in truth, she did desire keeping people safe from harm first and foremost.

"Before we get started on that..." Shota continued, clicking a button on the remote he had. A bar chart appeared upon the interactive chalkboard, showing off the number of heroes that sent offers to each student. Some results weren't too surprising, while others were.

Shiki Granbell - 4,455

Shoto Todoroki - 4,123

Homura Kogetsu - 2,890

Fumikage Tokoyami - 371

Tenya Iida - 305

Rebecca Bluegarden - 240

Momo Yaoyorozu - 234

Denki Kaminari - 222

Izuku Midoriya - 116

Ochaco Uraraka - 25

Hanta Sero - 15

Eijiro Kirishima - 12

Weisz Steiner - 7

The most surprising detail on the screen... was the lack of Katsuki's name. He stared at it with frustration in his eyes, ultimately sighing before looking away. Izuku and Rebecca shared a confused and concerned look upon noticing as well, wondering why he hadn't gotten any offers.

"Oh come on!" Mina complained, puffing her cheeks out angrily.

"What about the real star of the show, moi?" Yuga wondered.

"Screw that! How'd I get just seven?!" Weisz yelled in question.

"At least you got some, jerk!" Toru shouted back, smacking him upside the head with her invisible left hand.

"Settle down..." Shota growled out as his eyes flashed a bright red, enticing everyone to be silent, "Anyways, a lot of pros were scouting this time around," he noted, gesturing toward the board, "Those in the top sixteen are especially lucky," he mentioned to the surprise of Shiki, Shoto, Homura, Tenya, Momo, Fumikage, Weisz, Rebecca, and Izuku, "You've each received an offer from the IUA," he told them.

"The IUA?!" Momo repeated in disbelief as her eyes widened.

"That place has six of the top twenty heroes there!" Denki exclaimed out of shock.

"The beautiful Holy and lovely Feather..." Minoru mumbled out, thinking of the two female pros, "You lucky bastards...!" he growled out, crying blood. Rebecca cringed at his jealousy.

"Um... hold on just a sec, Mister Aizawa..." Eijiro requested with his hand raised, "How come... Bakugo doesn't have any offers?" he asked curiously as he raised his eyebrow.

"Yeah, he was the runner-up..." Mina pointed out. The Erasure Hero looked over to Katsuki, who perked up as he sat upright.

"I'm... out of the damn program this time around," he answered, causing everyone to widen their eyes in shock.

"Wait, for real?" Mashirao inquired.

"But why?" Kyoka asked curiously.

"Look, it's got nothing to do with you, so just shut it..." the Explosion Quirk user insisted, turning away, "It's something I gotta deal with myself..." he muttered in admittance. The others were quite surprised that he wasn't in the loop for the internship offers. Some had to wonder why. Izuku and Rebecca already had a good idea as they shared a look. A lot of things were changing.

"My name is I Cannot Stop Twinkling!" Yuga declared.

"Alien Queen!" Mina announced. Both names required changes according to Midnight, who was acting as the judge for everyone's choices later that day. Rebecca found herself grimacing a little with worry. After the first two seemed so weird, she thought hers wouldn't be clever enough. Weisz went up to the podium with his whiteboard.

"Pretty sure everyone's already heard my hero name..." he remarked confidently, setting his whiteboard up for all to see, "Arsenal, the Armored Hero!" he proclaimed proudly. Most of the students seemed to be impressed by the name, clapping. The Machina Maker Quirk user smirked smugly.

'He's so proud of it...' Rebecca muttered inwardly.

"I'd say that's a good name..." Midnight admitted with her hand upon her chin, "though the title probably needs to be changed," she noted, causing Weisz to blink in surprise.

"Uh, what?" he questioned.

"Yeah, isn't there already an Armored Hero?" Tsuyu inquired, "Yoroi Musha might not be happy about something like that..." she remarked.

"And why not the Mechanic Hero, since you remodel machines?" Denki questioned on.

"Uh..." Weisz uttered out.

"Or how about the Weaponized Hero?" Mezo suggested.

"Yeah, that sounds a lot better!" Toru agreed excitedly. Sweating nervously, Weisz exhaled a sigh. More hero names were put down by students, with many being accepted on the first try.

"Your turn, Bluegarden!" Midnight decided, enticing the Leaper Quirk user to head up to the podium. She put down her whiteboard.

"Say hello to the Fast Cat Hero, Miss Aoneko!" she introduced, "Meow-wow~!" she sang out. Izuku felt his face scrunch up as he blushed a bright red.

'So cute...!' he remarked inwardly. The R-Rated Hero clapped her hands together.

"I think that's perfect for you!" she complimented.

"Yes!" Rebecca exclaimed with a pump of her right fist. And with that, more hero names came together. In some surprising cases, Shoto and Tenya decided to use their own names. It then came time for Homura to provide her hero name. She took a deep breath and set down her whiteboard. Midnight blinked and lightly gasped in surprise. Some of the students in the room were shocked as well.

"I know this may seem like I am stealing this title from my teacher," the Soul Blade Quirk user noted as she glanced down for a moment, "but in truth, I feel that I am honoring her memory by carrying this name," she stated, "I shall be the Sword of Edens, known as Valkyrie Homura," she declared firmly.

"...You'd make Yuna proud," the R-Rated Hero said, causing the Soul Blade Quirk user to blink in surprise. She then smiled. The only one who didn't appear to be trying to come up with a codename was Katsuki, though it was obviously because he wouldn't be participating in the internship program. Shiki was next to put up his hero name. And many of his classmates were a bit flabbergasted by his choice.

"Thwomp Boy!" he announced.

"That... seems a little silly..." Midnight admitted as she scratched at her cheek, "How did you even come up with it?" she wondered curiously.

"Oh, Weisz gave it to me," Shiki answered.

"Grk!" the Machina Maker Quirk user winced out.

"Huh..." Midnight sighed, "Is there... another name that you thought of? Yourself?" she inquired on.

"Hmm..." Shiki hummed, erasing what was on his whiteboard before writing something new, "Magimech King, the Gravity Hero!" he declared as he pumped his right fist up, "How's that?" he asked of his teacher.

"Perfect!" she responded happily with a clap of her hands. That left only one person to bring their hero name to the table: Izuku. He headed up and presented his whiteboard. Everyone seemed a little surprised, including Katsuki.

"You sure you want a name like that, Midoriya?" Mashirao inquired out of concern.

"Yeah, you could be stuck with it forever..." Denki noted.

"I know..." the One For All inheritor replied, "But... someone important to me changed its meaning in my eyes," he told his classmates, "So now... I really like it!" he admitted. Rebecca gave off a big grin. "My codename... will be Deku!" her best friend declared, proudly displaying his whiteboard.

"So... who's going to the IUA?" Weisz inquired while looking at his sheet of offers later on that day.

"Me definitely!" Shiki answered excitedly, "Justice is one of the strongest heroes I got on my list!" he pointed out, "I'd love to get to learn a lot from him!" he added excitedly.

"I think I'd be glad to join in, too!" Rebecca chimed in, "Not every day one of the best hero agencies in the world makes an offer for a lot of us..." she noted.

"Exactly!" Shiki agreed excitedly, "Momo, are you coming, too?" he asked the Creation Quirk user, getting her attention as she looked over.

"O-Oh..." she stuttered out, holding her papers of offers in her hands, "Um... I'm not sure I'm worthy enough to-"

"Come on, it'll be fun!" Shiki insisted as he went over and grabbed her by her left arm to her surprise, "We'll get stronger together!" he insisted excitedly. Momo found herself blushing as she stared at the big grin on the Satan Gravity Quirk user's face.

"O-Okay then..." she stammered with a little giggle.

"What are you thinking of doing, Homura?" Shoto inquired of the Soul Blade Quirk user.

"It is difficult to say, honestly," she replied, staring at her sheet, "Not many pros have a skill set that could help enhance mine, nor could I really learn much from them," she told him.

"May I see who you got?" he asked. Nodding, Homura handed him her papers. He scanned them with his eyes, spotting his father's agency on the list. For a moment, he paused. Shaking his head slightly, looking further down. He then noticed a peculiar name, blinking in surprise. "How about this one?" he suggested, handing the Soul Blade Quirk user her papers while pointing to one name. She looked and widened her eyes in surprise.

"I did not think she would take interns..." she admitted, quite stunned.

"So where're you gonna go, Deku?" Ochaco asked of the One For All inheritor, getting his attention as he was packing up, "Iida already picked his and turned the form in," she pointed out.

"Wow, already?" Izuku inquired, glancing toward the door in concern. He remembered seeing the news about Ingenium being mortally wounded by the Hero Killer. It seemed like Tenya was mostly okay from learning of that event... but he did show signs of still being hurt.

"Hey, Izuku?" Rebecca chimed in, getting her best friend's attention, "You wanna come to the IUA with us?" she offered, "I'm sure we could make Weisz look like a fifth wheel..." she pointed out cheekily.

"I heard that..." the Machina Maker Quirk user responded in annoyance.

"Um... I'll think about it..." Izuku responded, zipping up his bag. While it was true that he wanted to learn from a great pro, especially the number three hero, he was concerned it wouldn't be the right fit due to needing to learn more about One For All. In fact, none of the pros scouting for him were giving off that sense either. Assuming he'd think about it more and turn in the form later, he opened the door and...

"I AM HERE IN A BIZARRE POSITION!" All Might exclaimed as he slid in front of his successor. And like that, there was a new development...

And so the story continues! Up next, the start of the internships around Japan! Hope you're looking forward to them!
