WE'VE HIT OVER 200 REVIEWS! I'm so happy that this story is loved by many thus far to get the following it's gotten. And we're not even done with Season 2 yet!
That said, we've still got a while until we're caught up with the rest of the story that's on Archive of our Own. And don't forget, this version's being edited as heavily as possible. Anyways, we're finally getting into the internships! Who's going with who?
Well, let's find out!
To Rebecca's dismay, Izuku didn't end up choosing to go to the I.U.A. with her, Shiki, Momo, and Weisz. In fact, he was going to someone who knew about the history of One For All and could help teach him more about how not only to control his power, but also use it better. Maybe it was for the best that he and the Leaper Quirk user had split in this endeavor. As grateful as she was to him for helping her learn more about her own power... it was embarrassing for her to think about how she managed to activate it.
"Bluegarden... your face is really red..." Momo pointed out, getting her attention, "Are you-?"
"I'M FINE!" Rebecca squeaked, interrupting the Creation Quirk user as she blinked in surprise, "Uh, sorry..." she sheepishly apologized, "I'm glad it's the four of us for this internship," she admitted, "Honestly, I don't know if I'd be able to handle it all myself..." she admitted sheepishly.
"Well, you got us lookin' after you, Becca..." Weisz flirted as he came over and wrapped his right arm around the Leaper Quirk user, much to her chagrin as she frowned.
"I don't need the guy who only lasted a minute in the ring to protect me..." she remarked back, causing him to flinch in surprise as he pulled away, while Momo held back a sudden laugh.
"Hey, we're here!" Shiki pointed out, getting their attentions as they approached the skyscraper that towered right ahead of them, having the I.U.A. symbol upon it.
"The Interestelar Union Agency..." Momo uttered as she stepped forward, "It's home to six of the top twenty heroes of Japan and dozens of sidekicks..." she told her classmates, "It's the largest agency, surpassing even Endeavor's..." she mentioned.
"I still can't believe sixteen offers got sent out by them..." Weisz admitted while looking up to see how tall the building was.
"Makes you wonder why they wanted so many interns..." Rebecca added curiously.
"Guess we'll go and find out!" Shiki decided as he jogged down the pathway, "Race you inside!" he called out excitedly.
"Slow down, you idiot!" Weisz yelled, chasing after him. Rebecca giggled at the enthusiasm of the Satan Gravity Quirk user. As she was about to head after them, she noticed that Momo was staying behind for a moment.
"You okay?" she asked her, causing her to blink in surprise and look up.
"Oh, I..." she tried to say, looking away and sighing, "I don't feel like I deserve the honor of being selected by the number three hero..." she admitted sadly, "After how I lost to Granbell-"
"Hey, don't do that," Rebecca insisted, going over and grabbing her hands to her surprise, "You made it into the top sixteen just like me and Weisz, and you had a much better fight against Shiki than you think," she pointed out with a reassuring smile, "So let's go ahead and use this chance to get stronger, okay?" she requested of the Creation Quirk user. She was astonished by the encouraging words of her classmate. But ultimately, she smiled as well.
"Okay," she said, following the Leaper Quirk user into the building.
"Welcome to the Interestelar Union Agency!" Creed greeted with a salute to the Class A students.
"Nice to see that the winner of the Sports Festival showed up today!" Victory mentioned with his hands upon his hips as he looked toward Shiki, "In fact, there's only one other guy here who wound up in the top eight aside from you!" he added while grinning.
"Huh? Who?" the Satan Gravity Quirk user asked.
"Oh, hey!" a familiar voice called out, getting the attentions of the Class A students as they turned to see Itsuka and Setsuna there, dressed in their hero costumes, "You guys got offers, too?" the former guessed.
"Anyone in our class who was in the top sixteen, that is..." Rebecca responded while sheepishly rubbing the back of her head.
"How many from your class are here, Kendo?" Momo asked curiously.
"Oh, two others..." the Big Fist Quirk user responded, "As a matter of fact, one of them just transferred in a little while ago," she mentioned, putting her hands onto her hips.
"Wait, transferred?" Rebecca repeated in confusion.
"Who the hell transferred in?" Weisz inquired, tilting his head to the side. Just then, he and the others noticed Kris approaching. His hero costume consisted of a navy blue, skintight suit with grey armored shoulder pads, gauntlets and boots. He also had some chest armor and a dark-blue cloak around his shoulders that covered most of his body. This overall gave him the appearance of a ninja.
"Hey, lookin' good, Kris!" Setsuna complimented with a grin as her classmate approached.
"Jinn," he corrected, stopping beside her, "Use my hero name whenever we're in costume," he insisted firmly.
"Right, right..." the Lizard Tail Splitter Quirk user repeated in understanding, cheekily giving him a smack to his rear as he flinched in surprise and blushed. Noticing, Rebecca scratched at her cheek and nervously grinned.
'Guess they're kind of a thing...' she concluded inwardly.
"Hey, Class B didn't have anybody who made it as far as the top eight, right?" Weisz asked in a whisper, getting the attentions of his classmates.
"That's true..." Momo confirmed as a response, "Then that would mean-"
"Sorry for being a little late," a familiar voice apologized, getting everyone's attention as they looked over to see an approaching figure, widening their eyes. It was Laguna, who was dressed in a long-sleeved, high-collared dark-colored coat with a pair of zippers on the front and back of its sleeves over a v-neck shirt, a pair of light-colored trouser. He also wore his signature stilettos. "It's my first time wearing a costume," he noted.
"You?!" Weisz exclaimed in disbelief as he pointed at him.
"Oh, you," the Tears Lover Quirk user said upon noticing the Class A students.
"You got transferred into the Hero Course?!" Rebecca questioned, quite shocked.
"Considering how I did, I think it was to be expected," Laguna replied.
"Thanks to Husert coming in, we've got twenty-three in our class now!" Setsuna mentioned, resting her arm against her new classmate's shoulder, "Pretty rad, right?" she inquired with a grin.
"Yeah... congrats!" Rebecca complimented, "Welcome to the Hero Course!" she greeted as she tilted her head to the side.
"Hm," Laguna huffed out. Weisz stared at him incredulously, feeling somewhat miffed that the very man who defeated him in the Sports Festival was interning at the exact same agency. He then took notice of the Tears Lover Quirk user's footwear.
"What the hell's with the high heels again?" he wondered aloud.
"They're stilettos," Laguna corrected in response.
"AGH!" Weisz exclaimed out of frustration, "Seriously, I don't get what you guys are into these days!" he grumbled.
"Well now that all of us are here..." Shiki began as he stepped forward, "you guys wanna be friends?!" he asked excitedly of the Class B students. Itsuka and Setsuna blinked in confusion, while Kris and Laguna just turned and walked away.
"Good grief..." Weisz muttered out, palming himself in the face. Just then, a nearby set of doors opened.
"Only eight of you, huh?" the voice of Justice noted as the U.A. students turned to see him approach alongside Eraser, Jaguar, and Holy, "Well, you'll receive the finest of experiences either way," he promised, "Welcome to our agency," he greeted, holding his hands together behind his back while maintaining a serious expression.
"Hmmm..." Homura hummed, having gotten dressed in her hero costume as she wandered about the hotel lobby with her phone in her hand. She arrived about ten minutes ago to the address she was given, changed, and was left to wait for her mentor for the week. She sat down on a bench, holding up her phone in her hands.
'I know she doesn't have an official agency... but I'm still shocked she offered me an internship...' she admitted inwardly, 'I wonder-'
"Homura Kogetsu, right?" a voice chimed in as a guess, catching her attention as she turned to see none other than the Rabbit Hero, Mirko, standing nearby with her hands at her hips, "Or should I call you Valkyrie Homura?" she inquired on.
"M-Miss Mirko!" the Soul Blade Quirk user stuttered out in greeting, bowing politely, "I'm... honored to be interning under you this week!" she exclaimed.
"Yeah, yeah... save the formalities..." the Rabbit Hero muttered as a response insistently, "Let's go take down some villains," she advised with a feral grin. Homura blinked in surprise.
"You... do not wish to teach me anything beforehand?" she inquired.
"Heh..." Mirko chuckled, rolling her left shoulder, "I don't teach, I just do my job," she told her intern, "And that's what Valkyrie did, too," she mentioned to the Soul Blade Quirk user's surprise, "So, you better keep up," she insisted. Realizing the circumstances of this internship, Homura took on a determined expression.
"Right!" she responded, following the Rabbit Hero as they left the hotel. At the Endeavor Agency, Shoto looked over his new costume as he stood outside of his father's office. Already, he was planning on going after the Hero Killer after the recent incidents that had occurred in Hosu. One of which he knew a lot about as it was Tenya's brother, the Turbo Hero Ingenium, who had been wounded. At that moment, the door opened to reveal Enji there, with his flame mask and beard not yet ignited. He looked over to his son before glancing down in thought.
"I noticed that... Kogetsu didn't accept my offer..." he noted aloud.
"Yeah," Shoto responded, "She... found a better hero for herself," he pointed out, looking off to the side, "Besides, I'm not sure how much insight you could give her with her Quirk," he mentioned.
"I suppose you're right..." Endeavor admitted in reply, igniting his flame mask and beard, "We're going now," he declared firmly.
"Right..." his son said, following after him. As much of a bastard as he was, he had the aptitude of the man who was the number two hero. And he seemed to be changing, if only a little...
"Byahahaha..." Jamilov chuckled as he typed on the holographic keyboard in front of himself, "All funds have been reallocated to you, Doctor..." he pointed out, speaking to a holographic screen that had Müller upon it.
"Yes, this is very good..." the doctor replied with a devious grin, "With this amount of money, I can garner enough security for the events ahead..." he noted, "I'll even bring her into the mix to deal with those pesky IUA heroes..." he added as he chuckled.
"Well, since we've completed our deal, I'm going to go and cause some mayhem of my own with this Master Code Quirk..." Jamilov decided as he smiled evilly, "I think I'll pay a visit to Hosu and help the Hero Killer slaughter some piece-of-shit heroes there..." he concluded. A cataclysmic event was about to occur. And not all of the players had entered the field of play...
And so we're getting into the good stuff! Other internships will be revealed in due time, but those ones are definitely the ones to most watch out for! Next time, we'll see how everyone's doing!
