Okay. I am going to put a warning here. This is going to be part of a major plot within Dark Souls: Embers of Remnant. If you don't know, this story is going to take place in the Ever After and in the perspective of two familiar people who only appear once in Dark Souls, yet their souls had transported into new vessels. With that, let's begin this mini arc story.

Dark Souls: Tales of the Other Embers

Two

The Porcelain Masked Woman

'Now, let's focus on a tale within the Ever after. The origins of how the Porcelain Masked Woman was known in the story of 'The Girl Who Fell Through the World'."

A woman let out a groggy groan. Her eyes slowly opened and covered it with her right hand as she stared at the…two bright suns?

This caused the woman to sit up in complete surprise. She look down at herself to see she still wore her familiar set of attire. It consist of a dark blue and black robe with spikes along with steel gauntlets and high heeled boots. What makes her unique was her soft porcelain mask, that was lined with ivory locks of hair.

Lord's Blade Ciaran looked at her surroundings and was, naturally, confused. Her last place was guarding the Gravestone of her Fellow Knight and dear friend, Artorias, from any outsiders who dared to defile the grave alongside his Wolf Companion, Sif, until she met her fate.

Her souls was supposed to be long gone from any living realm.

Then why did she awaken in this strange place?

This caused the Former Lord's Blade to get back to her feet and continued to look around. From what she observed, she seems to be in a jungle…by the looks of the tree and hearing the sounds coming from animals that she never heard before. This led to her to utter what was already on her mind. "Where…where am I?"

-Change Scene-

Ciaran had gone on a random direction and trekked for a very long time. Lifting vines and lowering herself to get through, she was really curious to know what this place is.

Is this the realm of the Afterlife, where recently departed souls come in?

Or is this something that is very unfamiliar to her?

By the look of things, it seems like it's leaning towards the latter option.

Now, since she was formerly the head of the Lord's Blades, she had to be precautious in this unfamiliar place. She hasn't encountered any of these types of animals before, which only made her more curious.

Though that doesn't mean she'd be less cautious.

Time went by again, and she found herself in an open field. Trees and vines were the only things that she can see with her eyes. Despite the sight she kept seeing, she knew that she had to get out of this place very soon. And that was only her concern. "I haven't seen any life here. I need any information before making my move." With that in mind, she cautiously began to walk through the open field while looking at her surroundings.

The former Leader of the Lord's Blade took a step near a vine that was on the floor. Unknown to her, as she got closer, the vine suddenly moved towards her. Ciaran noticed this and tried to avoid it. Unfortunately, the plant proved to be too quick as it wrap itself all over her body and she was unable to move. "What in the Lords' name is—"

Right before she can even comprehend of the situation, she heard the sound…of cheering? It seemed like it was coming near her. This seemed to be true when she saw a horde of mice appearing out of the blue. "The trap has been sprung!"

What? These mices can talk. Ciaran could not believe it. There, she saw a unique looking mouse that had a color coating of black, white, and turquoise with a scar on both ends of its ear, running up to the vines where it stopped near her head. "Justice befalls our prey! And on this day, we were not the prey, but the Hunters!"

This declaration caused the other mices to cheer in victory. The leader of the Lord's Blade was completely baffled by this revelation. Who would have thought that someone like her would have fallen into this trap set up by these…primitive animals? She tried to writher herself to get out of the vines that ensnared her body….

All of a sudden, she and the mices heard a growl that belongs to a wolf. They shifted their attention to where it was coming from. As they did, they saw a wolf. A Large Wolf towering them. By the look of its face, the wolf seemed to be angry.

The Giant Wolf let out a snarl as it began to move towards where the ensnared woman was. In their natural instincts, the mices were on guard and took a few steps backwards. "Do no fear…" The leader assured its own kind, although there was a hint of fear in its voice. "It looks like we have another—"

The giant wolf just seemingly ignored their presence as it walked right pass them. Instead, it walked towards Ciaran and was interested. Stopping near the former assassin, she looked at it directly in the eyes. It must have been a few seconds to realise that this animal seems to be awfully familiar. "No. It…can't be…"

Speaking of awfully familiar, the giant wolf's snout was near her and let out a few sniffs. Soon after, its seemingly hostility turns into realisation as it realises whose scent it belonged to. It let out a few whimpers while continuing to look at the porcelain masked individual. There was only one word that she could utter. "S-Sif?"

Well, if you had known already, Ciaran and Sif are somehow in the Everafter. It's really strange. Why are these two souls from an era long ago are in that place? Perhaps, fate may have something store in them. Who knows.

Anyway, I apologise if these chapters are really too short. I wanted it to be short and understandable to read. That and how it's kinda like a lore guidebook for Dark Souls: Embers of Remnant if you managed to read the notes I made on top.

Another reason why I wrote this is to use this opportunity to create a Fairy Tale related to my Fanfiction story of Dark Souls and RWBY. It's kinda like the Rusted Knight. But in this case, both Ciaran and Sif are mistaken to be the 'natives' in the Everafter. Hence why 'the Porcelain Masked Woman' has been created.

Anyway, sorry if this chapter had lots of errors as I wanted to publish a chapter as it has been a while. I am going to try my best to write Embers of Remnant, as well as Fairyborne.

See you all in the next chapter, whenever it will come.
