Nami knows my name now... I thought to myself while looking into my mirror as I put my long brunette hair into two pigtails, which is usually how I wear everyday when I'm working on the farm. I find pigtails to be really pretty in general, and it also helps that it keeps my hair out of my face when I do my farmwork, I still like to my my two front bangs on the sides of my face though, but not in my eyes obviously. Speaking of eyes, they're green. My eyes used to actually be blue when I was growing up, but over time they have turned green. And even though I've been working in the sun everyday now on the farm, my skin is still pretty fair somehow, I like never tan.
I then giggled as I started to do different poses in front of the mirror, admiring my outfit. This outfit I'm wearing is called "I Love Bears" and I got from the city not too long ago, I wear it a lot. Originally on the shirt there was this picture of a bear on it, but every time I looked at it, it'd give me the creeps... and I'd always get headaches whenever I stared at it at anytime, so I asked my grandma if she could get her handy-dandy sewing kit and remove the bear, and add a light-pink flower onto the middle of my shirt instead. I hope I never see that image of that same bear ever again in my life...
Anyway, my outfit is super stylish and really feminine. The t-shirt is pretty tight fitted and it's this creamy yellow color, while the collar and the ends of the sleeves of my shirt are light pink too. My outfit also consists of having this cute tight fitted mini skirt, pink gloves, pink shoes with a creamy yellow shaping the bottoms of them, and along with the pink flower located in the middle of my shirt, there was also three pink hearts placed on the bottom of my shirt. Oh yeah, my backpack is also a light pink. If you couldn't tell by now, pink is absolutely my favorite color, hehe. I'm sure Nami will learn that soon...
After I cooked myself an omelette with some eggs Takakura gave me last night (I also love cooking), I started flipping through channels on my TV to try to find the weather channel, when suddenly I saw... THAT CREEPY BEAR THAT USED TO BE ON MY SHIRT?!
"Yes, this bear is one million gold!" the man on the TV cheerily stated.
ONE MILLION GOLD?!!?!?! How is that even possible that a stuffed animal could be that much?? And WHY? I-
Suddenly, (and I SWEAR to the Harvest Goddess), I saw the bear's eyes... move.
It felt like my heart did a summersault in my chest.
"EEKKKKKKK!!!"
I screamed and rushed out of my house without even thinking to suddenly see...Nami?
Immediately, I stopped in my tracks. My mouth hung open, utterly flabbergasted to see her gazing at my cow who was outside eating the grass (Takakura must have let my cow outside early, I kind of slept in today by accident considering it's ten in the morning right now). Nami still didn't seem to notice me yet though, which is surprising considering I just kind of screamed. Why is she here?
Carefully, I walked up to her and after a moment, she slowly turned around to finally notice me. She was immediately taken aback and then the stoic red-head swiftly spun back around to avoid eye contact with me.
"Oh, uh... I'm not here for any particular reason, if that's what you're worried about. So... don't mind me."
In my mind, my jaw was inwardly dropping in disbelief, but I didn't want to show it. She's really saying right now that she's not here for any particular reason? But she's on MY farm! MY private property!! She's obviously here to see ME! I can't believe her right now... What kind of excuse is that?! Grr.
Nami noticed my suspicious silence (since I was lost in my own thoughts for about one minute) and she urged, "Go on. Keep working."
Her being on my farm while I'm working?? I'll probably be so nervous I'll mess up somehow with her watching me and will make a total fool of myself somehow! I kind of want to say to her in a flirty way, 'you're kind of hard to ignore' but she might take it the wrong way! I mean, I do want her to stay, but at the same time, I'll feel less nervous if she leaves. But then I'll feel sad if she leaves and I'll wonder 'what if?'... Ughhhh.
"O-Okay! Enjoy the farm," I nervously answered while still trying to retain a sweet tone of voice to disguise my nervous.
She sprung back around to face me, seemingly somewhat shocked by my answer but relieved. She was grinning slightly at me, which made my heart do a summersault for one second.
"Really? Awesome. I'll just hang out for a bit."
With that, she walked away and began exploring my farm. The first place she went to was looking at my... crop fields. Which, I'm highly embarrassed since I have NOTHING planted there, so she's literally staring at NOTHING! No crops! Nada! I'm just mortified. Hopefully, she's not secretly judging me and she's just examining the soil's quality or something...
My face being redder than a bottle of ketchup, I jumped over the fence and began to take care of my cow as I sheepishly watched her explore my farm from the corner of my eye. Whenever she was about to look my direction, I frantically averted my emerald eyes so she couldn't see that I was secretly watching her the whole time. My heart was pounding like crazy.
Nami proceeded to gaze up at one of my cherry blossom trees near the same crop field she was looking at previously for a few minutes. Next, as I began to cut some grass with my sickle, I noticed she was staring at my cow for awhile, and before I knew it, one hour had went by.
"Hey, Kayla. I'm gonna head back. See you around," I suddenly heard Nami calmly call from afar.
I turned my head and walked up to her as I then kind of coyly hid my face slightly (but not fully) behind my cow as she continued on with speaking with me, her gorgeous sapphire orbs looking directly into my emerald ones.
"You're, uh...not a bad person, actually. And your farm is pretty cool."
My eyes grew wide at hearing her words and I blushed. I was not expecting her to say that at all!
Nami started to walk away before I could say a word back and before she fully made it to the entrance of my farm, she suddenly paused.
"I, uh..." she mumbled while slowly turning around to face me from afar and I could see that her cheeks were the same color as strawberries. She seemed very embarrassed.
I blinked repeatedly, my heart pounding at greatly anticipating at what she was gonna say next.
"I'm sorry..." Nami took a deep breath while blushing even harder and she continued, "...For calling you a pervert yesterday."
I gasped loudly, immensely mortified, and I blushed so intensely that I felt like I was going to FAINT!
Nami didn't even give me a chance to say anything back after that, because she quickly turned around and exited out of my farm with her hands in her pockets.
I just stood there, paralyzed, feeling like an absolute idiot.
I was already humiliated enough by her looking at my empty crop fields, but now my humiliation is even more doubled by remembering her calling me a pervert yesterday! I wish I could erase that memory from my mind. Gahhhh.
I sighed. Well, I guess I could go buy some crop seeds from that Vesta woman now, since I'm behind on planting crops anyway.
With a sigh escaping my lips, I exited my farm and-
"This is OUTRAGEOUS!" I suddenly heard a man's very deep voice yell and I jumped.
I turned around to see that a man who I haven't seen before, had what appeared to be a small shop set up beside the inn. He was pretty tall, black hair, glasses, was a little on the heavy side, and-
"Where is it?! Who could have stolen it?!"
He sounded so distressed, he was constantly looking around. The poor man was even sweating.
Concerned, I walked up to him.
"Um... Excuse me, are you okay? What happened?" I meekly questioned, doing my best to be polite as well.
He turned to me somewhat startled, but then relaxed a bit. "Ah, you must be the new farmer I've been hearing about. My name is Van. I'm a collector and I will sell and buy all sorts of things. Anyway... One of my most expensive items is suddenly missing, which means it must have been stolen just now!"
My eyes grew wide. "Stolen?!" Great, we have a thief in this valley now too?? I frowned and asked, "Well... How much is the item?"
"One million gold!!" Van dramatically exclaimed.
My jaw literally dripped to the ground.
ONE MILLION???! ONE MILLION GOLD?!?!!
I then paused once realizing something.
Wait... When I watched the TV this morning... One million gold... No way... The item couldn't be-
"It's a special stuffed teddy bear, it's super rare being located from a very far away land and that's why it's so expensive," Van explained while frantically gesturing his arms. "It's my most valuable find!! You must help me find it! I had a few people here earlier looking at my other wares, but I didn't see them take anything..."
I felt a chill run down my spine when he mentioned that same very bear from the TV and I hugged myself while trembling a bit. Just imagining that bear gives me the total creeps!! Why the heck is it missing?!
"What's going on?"
My heart instantly skipped a beat when I heard Nami's voice out of nowhere and I turned around to face her.
Startled, my body jumped as I saw that she changed shirts...she was now wearing... a black t-shirt?!
I blushed ferociously at how hot she looked in it!
"Y-You changed your shirt..." I remarked breathlessly as my cheeks continued on with burning, totally forgetting about the whole Van situation for a second.
Nami quietly chuckled a bit. "Well, yeah... It's one of the new shirts Lou got me yesterday from the city, remember?"
Van coughed. "Ladies, can you please save the flirting for later - this is an EMERGENCY!"
Nami and I both blushed insanely. Is it that OBVIOUS I like her?? I'm so mortified, oh my gosh.
"Van!!!"
I suddenly heard Vesta's voice and suddenly both Vesta and Lou walked up to us.
"I heard you were missing a teddy bear?? I saw a stuffed animal bear lying in the forest area! But then I looked away for a second and it was gone!" Vesta exclaimed.
"I thought I saw a teddy bear in the inn earlier too this morning," Lou chimed in and she continued, "But I assumed it belonged to my husband, since he traveled a lot back in the day with me, so I didn't think much of it and thought it was one of his older belongings."
"Most interesting... May I ask you all to please look for the bear while I tend to my shop? I cannot afford to close my shop down," Van explained.
Vesta nodded and she then turned to look at Nami and I.
"Ladies, can you please search the inn for the teddy bear? Lou and I will search the forest to see if it shows up again. And if we still can't find it, we'll search the rest of the valley."
- Thirty Minutes Later -
Nami and I thoroughly searched every possible room in the inn except for-
"My room." Nami groaned.
There we were, standing in front of the door of her room, because I was the one to convince her that we should check it just in case.
"I don't see why it would be in there. It's pointless to check..." Nami stated quietly.
"Don't be so stubborn. For all we know, Rock could have put it in there to frame you because of the hair gel thing," I insisted with a giggle, but I also kind of was half-serious too.
Nami was quiet. "... You really think he would do that? I feel like that's just an excuse for you to go in my room again..."
I clenched my fists feeling fired up and blushed furiously. "H-HEY!! It is not!! I-I'm just thinking logically about this!"
Nami smirked and let out a quiet chuckle at seeing my reaction. "Relax... I'm just teasing."
I rolled my eyes, obviously flustered. "Since when do you do that to me..."
Nami sighed and put her hand on the doorknob, her voice oozing with slight annoyance. "Doesn't matter. Let's just get this over with..."
She opened the door and we made our way into her bedroom; the teddy bear was nowhere in sight.
"See, I told you it wouldn't be in here-"
Nami's closet doors abruptly opened with monstrous force and out came... THE TEDDY BEAR?!?!
The teddy bear laid on the floor, totally unmoving.
"EEK!!" I screamed as I immediately held onto Nami in fear without thinking and I noticed she protectively held onto my waist.
We were both so tense, confused, and blushing ridiculously.
Tears of fear started to form in my eyes. "I-It came out of your closet! It's possessed!" I screeched and held more tightly onto Nami.
Nami blushed. "Hey, don't hold me like that. I barely know you."
"Y-You're holding me too!" I argued as I pointed down at her arm wrapped around my waist.
Nami's eyes widened as she realized and she quickly let go of me as she continued on with blushing up a storm. "I only did that on instinct, I didn't realize... Who cares though. This isn't the time to argue, this thing is-"
We both realized the teddy bear was suddenly gone, just like that.
"W-Where did it go?!" I frantically demanded while looking around her room and I walked up to the wall beside the closet, trying to see if the teddy bear was under the table near the wall.
I suddenly heard Nami's stern voice. "Hey."
I turned to look at her and without warning, she slammed her hand onto the wall right near my head, and she inched closer to me, our faces, our lips, now almost so close touching.
Eyes widened, my heart started rapidly beating as she grew closer and closer to me; my cheeks being as pink as the flower on my shirt.
I-Is Nami about to pin me to the wall right now?! Is she trying to k-kiss me?! Oh my gosh, I'm not mentally prepared for this! This is happening all too fast! I-
"There."
Nami showed me a splattered mosquito on her hand with her possessing a blank expression. "It was about to jump on you."
I blinked dumbfounded. On one hand, I feel somewhat bad about what she did to the mosquito, but at the same I feel grateful since those things really scare me. But how romantic though, her saving me from a mosquitoe...
Was it really necessary of her to get so close to my face like that though?! I really thought that she was about to kiss me just now! Our lips were so close! Maybe she did that on purpose to tease me or something...
The two of us next heard the door open along with Rock's voice.
"Hey Nami, do you know where this bear came from? I found it in my room just now and-"
He paused at seeing me in the room with her, with the two of us being so close together by the wall.
Rock dropped the teddy bear in his grasp and he then smirked.
"Are you guys making out?"
Author Note: My imagination really ran wild with this one! XD Haha. The wall scene is actually inspired by what happened to me in the game haha. My character was literally in Nami's room and it might have glitched or something, but it literally looked like Nami pushed my character into the wall and I thought things were about to get spicy for a second!xD haha. Thank you for reading and if you liked this chapter, please leave a review! I shall update when I can. :)
