I must have blushed a billion or trillion different shades of pink as Nami carried me home in her arms bridal style. We were quiet the whole time as I felt her skin brush against mine at times and it felt like ten thousand butterflies had invaded my stomach consistently. The tension between us just felt... insane. As if it was so tangible. ...
No one really saw us, except for Gustafa walking by us near the forest path. A petty part of me tried to hide the smirk forming on my lips when I saw him, while Nami seemed kind of awkward seeing him. Gustafa did seem jealous of me, however he did also seem concern about Nami's bleeding arm and he offered to help, but we assured him that we were going back to my farm to fix her up. There's no way I'm letting him interfere with my potentially romantic alone time with Nami.
And then... Sigh. Of course Rock also showed up on the forest path and saw us. He went on this long rant about how Nami was stealing his "babe" away from him and that he was gonna take revenge on her someday, how he was determined to not lose to his "rival". Nami, with much indifference toward the moron, just told him to shut up and she walked away from him while still carrying me.
When we finally made it to the front of my house, it was already getting dark outside somehow as the sun was starting to set and luckily our drenched clothes and hair have dried somewhat (but not fully). I then noticed there was mail in my blue expandable mail box thing. I gestured for Nami to put me down while quickly assuring her that I can probably walk now and a small soft thank you exited my lips. She gently put me down and I pried open the mailbox to find... a really fancy looking letter?
The letter read:
'It appears the stories are true - a beautiful maiden is the new farmer in this valley and I admit I'm rather intrigued, like a moth drawn to a flame. My ears have caught word of your beauty and charm, so now I must see this sight for myself, for I am quite the curious thief. I've decided I will be blessing your farm with my presence this fine evening. I'm looking forward to properly introducing myself to you, and it is more than likely that I will be stealing not only your crops, but also your heart tonight as well. Hehe.
- Phantom Skye, The Prince of the Stars that's ready to steal your heart.'
I blushed furiously as I tightly gripped the letter while trembling of pure flusteredness.
What kind of lunatic wrote this? And why does a certain messed-up part of me kind of wish that Nami would write something like this for me? Like just imagine for a moment if Nami was a mysterious hot thief and we had this enemies to lovers kind of romance?! *eyes sparkles* ... I have issues. But wait, he's gonna try to steal my crops and heart away?!
I turned my head to look over at my field of crops located right beside my house. Today is the last day of spring and all my crops - I was about to harvest them all for the first time tonight, really planning to make some big money with them. I was really looking forward to show Nami all my new crops I've ever grown successfully for the first time too... I can't let all my hard work go to waste! All my strawberries, tomatoes, and potatoes - I can't let him steal them from me!
Nami sensed something was wrong considering my silence and she looked over my shoulder. "Let me see that."
She took the letter from my grasp and her eyes began to scan it intently as she wore a stern expression. After about a minute, her eyes widened slightly and I could see pure anger in her sapphire eyes - she was pissed, beyond fuming.
"I guess the rumors I heard about a thief warning his victims ahead of time are true. This guy is bad news..." Nami quietly stated, there was anger in her voice but she was definitely composing herself so she could remain calm. She took her attention away from the letter to then look at me.
"Don't worry. I'll stay with you tonight. I won't let him take anything or hurt you," she solemnly assured me while looking deeply into my eyes and I just felt my heart melt and just inwardly swoon at hearing her words.
"Th-Thank you..." I started breathlessly. "But Nami, let's tend to your arm first-"
A low and smooth voice soon slithered into both of our eardrums.
"Hello ladies."
Nami and I both turned around to see some guy standing right in front of my chicken coop - with one hand confidently tucked in his pocket and a smirk plastered all over his face.
Whoa. He has gray hair...or is that silver? Yep, it's silver. Anyway. This guy has pretty nice shoulder-length straight hair and he's super pale too, the moonlight now was definitely illuminating his very fair vampire-like skin. At first glance, I thought he was a pretty tall masculine woman considering the long hair, but no. This is a full dude. His outfit consisted of a white leopard print shirt along with a black undershirt, a silver necklace and bracelet, rather stylish violet pants, and black leather shoes. Green, were the color of his mysterious catlike eyes and he was a pretty attractive guy all around. In my opinion, he's the most attractive guy I've ever seen in this whole freaking valley. He's definitely a pretty boy for sure.
I gulped. This definitely must be the thief who wrote me that crazy as heck deranged letter, Phantom Skye.
I felt puzzled the more and more I stared at him. Why do I feel like he was my husband in a past life? ...
Skye flipped his hair with his right hand and he let out a sigh, a smirk remained on his lips as he spoke. "To be honest, I wasn't excepting the extra company tonight. I thought I was going to have some precious alone time with the new pretty farmer girl here, but I guess I'll manage to make adjustments to my initial plan."
He began to walk up to me, while Nami's eyes being full of caution watched him like a hawk.
Skye stared down at me, he gazed very deeply into my green eyes, and that pompous smirk never left his lips for a second as he then proceeded with holding out to me a red-rose. "Hello Beautiful, you're even more radiant than I imagined you to be. As I've stated before in my letter, the name's Phantom Skye. It's lovely to finally meet you face to face."
I blinked, utterly flabbergasted.
Wow, this guy is really trying to butter me up!
"Leave her alone," Nami warned fuming as she forcibly knocked the rose out of his grasp; jealously absolutely seething in her low voice.
I flinched as I watched the rose fall to the ground, meanwhile Skye looked annoyed and the two began to silently glare at each other.
Skye sighed. "Unfortunately, it looks like I have to speed things up tonight..."
Without warning, Skye clenched his right fist as his emerald eyes turned frighteningly fierce; there just seemed to be this dangerous intensity about them.
"CHICK-BEAM...FIRE!"
There suddenly was a flash of light which caused a shriek to escape my lips and within seconds, I realized I couldn't...move?! My body is completely paralyzed!
I could only move my head and mouth slightly. With concern written all over my face, I struggled to turn my head to look toward Nami to see that in fact she too couldn't move her body either. Her body was trembling from undeniable anger as she scowled and was glaring daggers into Skye.
"Nami!" I cried out in concern. "Are you okay? I-I... I can't move."
"Hehe. You'll be able to move soon Beautiful," Skye calmly assured me as he began to walk toward my field of crops and he took out a large black bag. "You maidens are just merely under my little spell. I was gifted with the ability to freeze anything female with it."
"Tch!" Nami said under breath beyond frustrated as she was still struggling to move her body but she remained paralyzed; trembling with pure rage. "Darn thief..." she growled bitterly.
Skye chuckled as he began to pick up all my crops one by one and dropped them into his bag.
"Noooooo! My tomatoes! My strawberries! Ahhh, not my potatoes!" I cried out, my eyes growing somewhat watery at the thought of all my hard work basically going down the drain because of some darn thief. "Please, stop!" I pleaded with enormous desperation in my voice.
"Tsk, tsk." Skye then playfully waved one of my potatoes in his grasp at me while smirking, his eyes just obviously taunting and teasing me.
I felt frustration bubble up within me.
"Give me back my potato, you jerk!" I demanded all flustered.
Skye flashed me a wink. "If you want this potato back Beautiful, you might just have to let me steal a kiss for it. Hehe."
My eyes widened when Skye began to then approach me and with a smug smirk, he tilted my chin to look upwards at him; his face growing closer to mine as he haughtily gazed down into my eyes. I felt my cheeks heating up slightly at realizing he might try to kiss me as he inched closer and I struggled to move my body but was unsuccessful. My heart was pounding of anxiety.
"Get away from her!" Nami then protectively hissed, her tone beyond vicious and seething. I could hear the subtle helplessness in her voice since she couldn't physically move and hearing that just made my heart sink.
Skye came to a halt before his lips met with mine and he looked overly irritated as he glanced at Nami, but I could tell he was doing his best to remain unbothered.
"Don't tell me you desire to steal a kiss from her too..." the phantom thief sneered at her and that same smirk then returned back onto his lips as he next looked in my direction once again; him still caressing my chin. "Unfortunately for you, tonight I'll be the first one to steal a kiss from her-...!"
Without warning, Nami suddenly tackled Skye to the ground with unbelievable force and he dropped the bag that contained all my crops.
Skye winced from the pain as he quickly stood up and scowled. "Argh!"
He next let out a sigh as he dusted himself off and composed himself. "Impressive. I've never had a maiden break free from my paralysis spell so quickly before..." Skye quietly remarked and then he let out another sigh. "Well... Looks like my time here is being cut short, but I must jet out of here for now."
Nami slowly got up and glared menacingly at the thief; however, he avoided her gaze at all costs.
The silver-haired thief then locked eyes with mine and sent me one seductive wink. "I suppose I'll be generous tonight and let myself leave here empty-handed, Beautiful. However, next time I'll most definitely steal a kiss from you. Hehe. Then will proceed with your heart. Farewell, Beautiful. We'll meet again, it's in the stars."
With saying that, Skye hastily exited my farm while walking with his hands in his pockets. Puzzled, I was taken aback that Nami didn't chase after him since she appears so pissed at him.
"What a creep..." Nami angrily muttered under her breath and her body started trembling again. "Ugh... I think I only broke out of that spell temporarily, because I can't move my body again..."
Ah, so that's why she let him get away.
I frowned. "Oh, no... And I still have to tend to your bleeding arm, I don't want it to get infected. I-"
Suddenly, I felt movement in my hands, then everywhere else in my body.
"I can move!" I excitedly gasped. "Here Nami, let me scoop you up and take you into my house!"
Nami gave me a confused look. "Wait, what?"
Giggling, I then lifted up Nami bridal style and smiled down at her. I'm a lot stronger than I look, heehee.
Nami blushed furiously. "H-Hey! Put me down!" she demanded as she did her best to avoid looking at me.
I shrugged and a giggle escaped my lips once more. "Hey, you saved me like two times in a row today! I just got to return the favor now, silly."
Nami sighed in defeat and her cheeks were now redder than her own hair.
"This is so embarrassing..."
Author Note: This chapter I wrote is my way of dealing with Skye not being in the remake.
:( But it's interesting how the game literally hints to Skye's existence at Cecelia's house in the remake, lollll. What's even worse is that there is an interview with the creators saying they literally forgot about Skye and they are frustrated that they forgot about him - that he could have totally been a bachelor option for the remake due to his popularity if they didn't remember too late. Hopefully he'll be in the game in a DLC update later I'm hoping or something. Anyway, thank you for reading and please let me know your thoughts on this chapter by reviewing!
