Contrast Chapter 01-02: Keepsakes/Second Son

Yu was at a loss, she ran through the words she said to a Quirkless boy that had jumped in a rescue attempt on one of his classmates a year ago. 'Jeez, there's a limit to how rash you can be, kid!... There was absolutely no need for you to put yourself in danger like that...Listen, I know you wanted to save your friend, but you have to consider your own well-being... Especially when you're Quirkless. Put yourself in my shoes, in any other situation, I as a pro now have to worry about two lives and a villain who wants to snuff one of them if not both out. If All Might wasn't here, think of what could have happened.' A tinge of guilt was laced in her expression as she stared at the boy on the other end of a TV screen in a break room at the venue of the UA sports festival. The gig of security seemed like a sweet deal for her as she was getting paid, and she would get first dibs on a servant... Hero student that she would be 'mentoring' over the next two weeks. As a relatively new hero, she had low expectations from the council and was limited to one student. A decision that seemed to be made for her as her eyes never left a mop of dark green.

"Our break is over, Mount. We have to start heading over to our post." A masculine voice came from behind.

Getting up from the table she had procured for herself with her breakfast she stretched and looked at the person who was currently ruining her mood. "Come now, Kamui. We don't have to rush, do we? There is still time, the race is not over yet."

Just as she finished, an announcement of the first event came over the screen. "Right now, the first person back to the stadium is... Izuku Midoriya!" Yu's eyes widened as she looked back at the screen, a small sigh escaped as she saw the green-haired student doubled over panting, before recovering slightly and bowing to the crowd as they cheered the boy on. All of 1A had placed in the top fifty with the class dominating the top 10 with classes A and B nearly sweeping the top twenty.

Kamui Woods noticed the leaderboard had two names that popped out at him. 1st place Izuku Midoriya and 3rd place Katsuki Bakugou. He had recognized the pair as Katsuki moved to Izuku beginning a tirade of abuse. "Interesting, aren't those the boys from that slime incident?"

"Apparently..."

"Didn't the green-headed one say that he was Quirkless?"

"It is quite clear he is not..." Yu's annoyance is clear to anyone listening. "Come on Kamui, the five-minute walk you were so eager to take awaits." The intended sting in those words was felt much to Yu's satisfaction. Yu took one last look at the screen, she smiled at the points given to the first-place student. 'Ten mill, isn't that overkill, poor boy looks like a kicked puppy.' Which was her final thought as she left the room.

(...)

As if with a jolt Izuku shot up awake. Now sitting in a familiar bed he quickly examines his surroundings realizing the room he is in.

'Dammit.' he thought to himself. Using the time he had alone to check on his now formerly dislocated right shoulder and broken fingers now with a scar where his pec and shoulder meet. He came to the realization that he knew where he was, the school's infirmary. He has had multiple visits several times before.

The sound of rushed footsteps on the floor rang out. Before he could react he would be overcome by a tight embrace. It didn't take long to identify the signature ponytail with a slight alteration of his classmate and friend. With the hug obscuring her most notable features he took a wild stab in the dark.

"Hey Momo, is the ribbon new?" He says trying to keep a cheerful tone. "It looks good." Pointing out the new battle-damaged hair accessory.

"Idiot." She whispers in a pained voice tightening her hug.

"S-s-so," stuttering, Izuku started not knowing how to handle the situation. 'From what I remember I must have collapsed right after my match with Todoroki.' He Thought trying to remember the events that led up to his now mostly healed injuries.

"So?" Momo asked.

"What happened after my match with Todoroki?" He stopped himself as she let go with a face that wore both worry and concern. "I need you to fill in the blanks, please." He powered through.

It was times like this when she cursed how close they have become to each other. 'How am I supposed to say this? I can't lie he would know,' she thought to herself. 'Breathe you can do this. He's fine.' Continuing her thought while letting out a panicked sigh. The boy in front of her collapsed and was horribly injured in his fight with their classmate, the injuries were the worst of the day. She moved to a chair placed near the occupied bed neatly placing her hands on her lap.

The girl slowly recited the events that occurred in the hours he was out. Apparently, when he was unconscious Izuku was moved to the infirmary, and after his safety and well-being were confirmed it was decided that the losers of the sports festival's semi-finals Shoto Todoroki and Momo Yaoyorozu were to face each other to replace Izuku in the finals against in her own words "Baku-bin" earning a short burst of laughter from the boy in front of her. Momo paused for a second before continuing to look down, the last part was of that match. According to her, she lost by forfeit when Shoto trapped her in his ice, and after escaping having planned for the trap, she wasn't able to continue due to the overuse of her Quirk.

"That's amazing." He praised Momo after hearing about the bout.

"Huh?" Momo Responded confused.

"Well in my fight, if I hadn't promised you to not get hurt badly and find a way to control my Quirk I would not be able to get as far as to get the win." That being said, Izuku moved to sit at the edge of the bed facing Momo and continued. "It sounded like you had a plan when you fought Todoroki, and if it wasn't for you not being 100% you would have probably won. Compared to my half-baked effort and unmastered quirk, I would have lost and taken months to get a handle on my quirk, so I should be thanking you."

The girl simply shook her head with a sad smile. "You shouldn't be thanking me. You did what you did on your own merit. Meanwhile, I find myself looking to you for guidance." Pausing for a few seconds. "Everything I've done so far was all inspired by you and what I thought you would have done. And today you offered me words of encouragement and were there for me at my lowest. I should be the one thanking you."

Izuku thought for a moment as several things ran through his head. "How about this? Wait, did someone get my things?" He asked.

"Yes, why?" The girl wondered.

"Well, can you grab my bag? I want to do a little exchange." He said with a large smile.

Momo got up and moved across the room to where both their school bags were lying. She was confused about what he meant and why he needed his belongings. After retrieving what Izuku asked for he quickly went through it pulling out an LED version of his hero costume half face mask, a cord, and a smartphone. "I know she said it was just a prototype but this should do." Izuku said, connecting the mask to his phone. Opening up an app he tapped on the screen within moments the LED display flashed and a message scrolled across and read 'Welcome Yaoyorozu-san' before disappearing and being replaced with a rabbit's mouth." I know that when we were looking through my hero notes you liked the name Usagi and it really doesn't fit me and I wanted to show my gratitude and..." He was stopped by another embrace.

" I love it." She said while letting him go. She grabbed the mask while letting it hang from her neck with its strap. "I guess I have to come up with something in return." The statement came out before the boy in front of her could protest. Momo cupped her chin in one hand as she focused on her thoughts. A gentle smile graced her face accompanied by a small blush. She brought her hands together and a light shone as her quirk went to work. When her hands separated now with a necklace in each hand and a ring being the only ornament for both. " I-I-It's not what you t-think. It's a promise." She stutters out while forcing one into his hand with ever-reddening cheeks.

After months of hanging out with the person in front of him. The pillar of support for each other. Izuku just smiled and placed it around his neck. 'We better aim for the top then.'

(…)

"Do you have time to talk?"

That question was running circles in the boy's mind, a little over a minute ago his potential opponent for the semi-final of the last round of the first year's festival led him to a secluded spot in the stadium. The teen paused and looked at Izuku with a serious expression. "I... I was overpowered, in that split second in the second round I forgot about the pledge I had made." Izuku visibly flinched when the boy in front of him began. "I am sure that neither of our teammates felt it when you used your Quirk without restraint. It felt the same as the time at the USJ when All Might was fighting that villain at his absolute limit." Izuku froze a cold sweat forming.

"What… What is that suppose to mean?" Izuku asks under a shaky breath.

A long pause that felt like ages for Izuku began. The boy brought his hand upwards staring a hole into his palm. "It means I felt something similar facing you as I did watching All Might fight." Another pause. "Midoriya, are you… a secret love child of All Might or something?"

Izuku blinked several times before tilting his head in confusion. "Uhhh… Excuse me?" The words slipped without thinking, then he thought back to their last confrontation.

"All Might has his eyes on you, doesn't he."

'Oh… that's what he thought for all this time.' Izuku began to think of a way to respond fighting the now laughter bubbling beneath the surface, out of all the possibilities to happen the idea of him being confused as the number 1's son did not occur to him. The line of thinking would explain the similarities in the Quirk use, and If Toshinori was serious about his mother it would make for a valid excuse if he ever tells her about One for All. Not able to hold it in any longer he broke down chuckling at the question, the person who asked now confused at the laughter. "No… No… I am sorry, though you are not far from the truth." Izuku paused to compose himself. "I know that stuff like that is possible and that some families still practice Quirk marriages, so I get that you could come to that conclusion."

"So does that mean…"

"Todoroki, if I was… do you think that I would admit it now, in a public place. You probably get it being who you are." Izuku tried to dance around the question, to mild success.

"So there's a connection between you two that you can not talk about that is in the general ballpark, isn't that right?" Shoto Todoroki questioned.

Normally he would freeze up in fear and try to mumble his way out, but dealing with the constant teasing and bombardment of personal inquiries from their classmates Jiro and Ashido had muted his flighty nature. Ready to stand his ground he replied. "Like I said, you are not far from the truth. What does it matter to you?" One for All flickered to life as the green bolts from the activation of his Quirk discharged for a split second while the fingers in Izuku's right hand twitched.

Not letting the display unnerve him, Shoto provided his answer. "If you have something from the number one hero then… I have every reason to beat you in the semi-final. I refuse to be saddled with the number two position that my father is stuck in." Shoto spoke with every bit of seriousness that if looks can kill was plastered on Izuku's face.

After a brief moment, Izuku and Shoto went their separate ways after a tense moment and acceptance of a silent challenge. However little did the two know that the pro Mount Lady followed the two of them and remained hidden until now. She walked out from her hiding spot looking in the direction that Izuku left with a single thought on her mind. 'Not far from the truth?… What does that mean…' With a low voice, she asked herself. "Is he really the son of All Might?" As the question remained unanswered she thought back to the day of the slime incident, the worry on All Might's face when he snubbed reporters after the boy was cleared to leave, taking off after Izuku. That made sense, why the boy and All Might jumped in despite the danger, and why he used his Quirk similarly to All Might, though the green lightning was new. Engrossed in her thoughts she did not notice the person behind her until they grabbed her shoulder to get her attention.

"There you are Mount, you wondered off, what's up?"

Before she could answer an announcement came on to the PA system. "It's almost time for our first quarter-final match as the undefeated Izuku Midoriya takes on our legacy speedster Tenya Iida. So get to your seats and prepare yourselves for a 1A bout to remember."

Looking at the person who brought her back to reality she came face to face with a wooden mask, giving her best puppy dog eyes she made a request. "Can you cover for me for the rest of the day?" Pausing for the dramatic effect she offered an excuse. "I am not feeling well."

"It's almost time for our first quarter-final match as the undefeated Izuku Midoriya takes on our legacy speedster Tenya Iida. So get to your seats and prepare yourselves for a 1A bout to remember." The PA came to life as two girls in U.A.'s PE uniform took note of the announcement, paying for food at one of the festival's stalls.

Grabbing a pair of disposable chopsticks a red-eyed blonde turned to her companion handing her a container and the chopsticks while commenting on the bout about to begin. "So what is the plan Kazue, the first years are putting on quite the show. And aren't you interested in how that Midoriya does?"

The other girl took the offering after paying for both of them. Her long maroon hair slightly waved in the strong wind. "I don't see why, Midoriya is going to win. No offense to his opponent, but pure speed to a person like Midoriya is nothing."

"Oh? Please do explain."

"Midoriya has been holding back." The two came across a picnic table near the stalls where they sat opposite each other. "He seems analytical. Probably knows the abilities and possible rate of growth of his classmates, and unlike the rest of 1-A, he has been picking and choosing when he uses his Quirk. Not to mention every time he has it was different. Meaning he adopts to his situation instead of powering through like most strength enhancers." She finished as her stomach growled in protest as she fiddled with the container of food.

Her friend looked at her with obvious confusion. "And what does this have to do with him beating his opponent?"

"Come now Miko, you should know... Outside of Yaoyorozu, Todoroki, Bakugou, and Midoriya. All of 1-A had shown their hand by the second round. Whether or not Iida was aware of it or not he showed his opponent the weakness in his plan. Though I am sure he probably knows this, he is going right for the win straight away where he should drag the fight on." Kazue finished taking a bite of her food.

"So you are saying that..."

"Unless Iida has a way to deal with Midoriya's combined strength and intellect, he is going to lose no matter what he does." Her words force her friend to think about the situation before giving up with a huff causing Kazue to giggle.

"I don't get how you do that, it hasn't been a day, and yet you have sized up all the first years, and probably have a mental file on the four you mention. And here I thought you only had eyes for Togata-senpai." She finished taking a bite of her own looking away dismissively only to be brought back by her friend coughing while choking on her food.

"What? Mikoto what are you talking about?" Kazue managed to question in between attempts to clear her throat of any obstructions.

"Don't you have a crush on him?" Mikoto said matter-of-factly, much to the chagrin of her friend, clearly not having entertained the idea before.

"No, no, no! It's just my Dad's nerdy side coming out is all, he has an interesting Quirk and is part of that group of third years. That's all I swear." Kazue said with a pink hue on her cheeks.

Mikoto examined her friend, taking in the blush with a satisfied grin. She enjoyed teasing her friend, and now she had more ammo for next time. "Right, the daughter of a CEO of a support manufacturer and a Quirk specialist doctor would be interested in a senpai that can phase through solid objects. And a certain kouhai and late bloomer with a double edge sword of a strength-enhancing Quirk."

"Miko!"

Mikoto flexed as her body was covered in a faint glow. "It looks like I can't rest if I want to be the only strength enhancer in your life, Midoriya is not taking you away from me. You are mine."

Sighing Kazue recovered from her embarrassment. "Trust me, Miko, no one can take your place. You remember our promise right?" She Asked Mikoto, getting a nod in response. "Then, you have nothing to worry about."

"Hehehe, you are making me blush Kazue. But I don't care either way." Her face morphs into a mischievous expression. "But if you want to you know." She makes a hole with her thumb and index and consequently penetrates with her opposite index. "I call our kouhai who has that whole cinnamon roll thing going for him."

Kazue looked at her friend with a face that read 'What is wrong with you?' all over it. "..."

Mikoto ignored it and happily returned to her lunch.

"There's seriously something wrong with you."

(...)

"There's something wrong with Midoriya-chan" A U.A. PE uniform energetically moved as the words came from it. As Present Mic announced Tenya and Izuku to the crowd Izuku had a different demeanor about him he had no emotion on his face and was staring a hole into Tenya, a far cry from the nervous wreck, blissful, or determined enthusiasm that usually happens to show on his face like an open book. Said uniform was an invisible girl sitting with hers and Izuku's classmates in the section designated for the participating year, separated by class.

A pink-skinned girl sitting next to her chimed in as well worried. "Yeah, he does not seem like his usual self." Turning to a certain hothead blonde she posed a question for him. "Hey Bakugou, You went to middle school with Midori do you know anything?"

Her question was met with a snarl and an angry grunt before she got anything that resembled an answer from her male classmate several bodies across from her. "Like I know what the damn nerd is thinking, he's far different than he was back then. If you want to ask anyone ask Walking Weirdo Magnet or Icy Hot. They were the last to talk with him." He said pointing at Momo, and an empty seat that one would have figured was Shoto's.

Momo blushed being called out by the Explosion Quirk user, every eye that belonged to the 1-A students burning a hole through her. Kyoka Jiro, the person sitting next to her was the first to speak after Katsuki's declaration. "I didn't know that you and Midori talked, why didn't you tell me Yaomomo?" She asked with a growing interest in Momo's apparent relationship with the one for all user.

Feeling the pressure from everyone but Katsuki's gaze, she silently cursed the boy. "We don't really, not before today, he had helped me out on a personal matter and I thanked him for it, that's all." Momo started, much to the satisfaction of the crowd of onlookers. "He seemed like his normal self then." She continued with a hidden small smile on her face. "So it appears that the person who might know is Todoroki." She finished sighing in relief as the attention was focused elsewhere.

"I guess you are right, Yaomomo." The pink girl began. "Too bad he hasn't come back after leaving with Midori."

"I wonder what happened?" A brunette said looking at Izuku with a worried expression.

Meanwhile, Present Mic had finished his introduction of the boys in the middle of the ring in the center of the stadium. A wave of cheers built up steam as Tenya and Izuku measured each other, but what happened next was something that no one in the venue expected. Dropping into a fighting stance Izuku would utter a few words under his breath. 'One for All' "Full Cowl... Overcharge." Once he said that a combination of red and green lightning became visible as it discharged from his body. The members of 1-B looked at Izuku's classmates for an explanation, but every one of them was just as confused so they returned their attention to the fight in front of them, the crowd going wild at the light show on display.

Izuku's body felt heavy, like he couldn't move as freely as he was used to when he is using less power in this new fighting style he was trying with One for All. He had activated the strength enhancer to every part of his body to the limit of what he could handle, not that the limit he was currently at was able to compete with All Might, much to his dismay. To his estimation, he can only handle only about 10-15% of One for All's power. Waiting for the proctor, pro-hero Midnight to call the beginning of the fight Izuku blocked out all as he stared down the opponent in front of him listening to the subtle chirps from the crackling lightning.

Tenya having no knowledge of what this new display of power was from Izuku was on guard. 'What is this, is this what should happen when he uses his Quirk.' The bespectacled teen asked himself, but he did not have time to think as a right hook aimed at his chest shot past him as he dodged it barely a second after Midnight called for the bout to begin.

Not given the room to breathe Tenya was on the back foot as all he could do is dodge the speeding fist of Izuku as his own Quirk was working overtime, much to the delight of the observers. "What is this?! It appears that our resident bone-breaker was holding out on us, the battle of speed over strength has changed somehow. Iida is being pressured into relying on his speed, but Midoriya is not giving any room for a counter. What a display of fortitude from these two." Present Mic's sentence was punctured by Izuku missing another punch.

Tenya noticed that even with Izuku's apparent increase in speed he was still faster, Izuku was not leaving any openings to mount any return offense though. 'What kind of training have you been putting yourself through this past week for your fighting style and Quirk to change so quickly.' His thought was interrupted as Izuku dropped and swung a kick at Tenya's ankles for a leg swip, which prompted Tenya to jump backward, but that was a mistake Izuku with both his hands on either side of his right leg, used them for balance as he pushes himself up, aimed, and delivered a dropkick from what pretty much was a seated position. Tenya was sent flying as the soles of Izuku's feet connected with his chin, landing a few meters away. Izuku now in a handstand catching himself, took a couple of steps to the silence of the crowd, only when he righted himself on his feet did the stadium get hit with a cacophony of noise as a wave of cheers congratulated the showcase of athleticism from the pair.

"And there we have it folks the first strike to land in this bout, and what a fight it has been." Present Mic spoke, Tenya who was laying in the middle of the ring sat up spitting blood from his mouth unable to do much else. "... And Iida seems to be moving after that nasty blow to the jaw. Can he find a way to come back or is this the beginning of the end for our speedster."

With some difficulty Tenya got up slowly, Izuku waited until Tenya signaled Midnight that he was ready to continue. Though he thought he was it was a kick landing right below the chest winding him that proved him wrong, then a sickening snap could be heard as a kick connects with his ribs with Izuku's opposite leg most likely breaking a few. Not able to breathe correctly Tenya made his mind up on his next set of actions being his last. Using the last of his energy Tenya used a burst of speed and his larger frame to try and pin the smaller teen to the ground and apply a hold on him in hopes to make him submit. The plan ended in failure however, with the pain he was feeling and his inability to take a proper breath through what could be broken ribs, Izuku was now faster.

Taking this opportunity Izuku ducked down this time giving a swift lariat just under the knees and tripping up Tenya causing him to fall face first. With a hiss of pain, Tenya turned on his back so the ribs would not bother him as much, but Izuku taking this opportunity to capitalize took one of Tenya's legs into a heel hook applying just enough pressure for it to be painful without doing any real damage, at least Izuku hoped.

Not having much choice and unable to verbally submit Tenya frantically slapped his hand on the ring surface, after a few seconds Midnight calls it, raising her whip and pointing it at Izuku she announces the winner. "Your winner Izuku Midoriya!" A moment of quiet takes hold over the stadium until a little girl shouts something at Izuku.

"That was awesome Onii-chan, you're the best!" The noise returned mostly cheers aimed toward the jungle-headed teen, though there were those that were offering Tenya some support.

Izuku ignoring the crowd sighed as the lightning from Full Cowl dissipated, taking a seat on the ground next to the lying Tenya. He lightly put a hand on his friend's chest and offer a silent apology. 'Sorry Iida, I was angry and I took it out on you. I shouldn't have done that.' Izuku stayed by Tenya's side as Recovery Girl and a couple of robots entered the ring. After confirming that Tenya's injuries were fixable Izuku exited the ring and made way for the tunnel he entered the stadium from

Present Mic all the while singing the boy's praises. "What a true friend ladies and gentlemen, waiting at his classmate's side while they wait for the arrival of some medical attention." Turning his attention to his broadcast partner he commended the man on this class. "What's with your class Eraser? It is like they were all giving everything they had from the very beginning, even in this round every match with a class A rep fight was like this one in a lot of ways, what have you been feeding them, what kind of juice, what kind of training are they doing, how many push-ups."

"This is not the result of any kind of training, their resolve to get the job done is purely from their own experiences. They know what it takes to be a hero in this world and what needs to be done, that's it. I am proud to count myself among their teachers." Eraserhead finished praising his students.

Most of class 1-A was absolutely buzzing about the praise that their homeroom teacher was showering them with, all but three of them. Though each had their reasons the result, was the same each of them was thinking something different and stared at the tunnel Izuku left through. Momo was the first of the three to act as she got up from her seat and began to leave, only to be questioned by her friend who was seated next to her. "Yo, Yaomomo? What up?"

Not knowing how to respond she said what came to her mind. "Toilet!"

"Toilet?" Kyoka asked.

"Yes." She kicked herself thinking up a better excuse in the process. "I was going to use the bathroom before my match." She added to her half lie. Before taking off without another word.

"Ok?' Kyoka said to the retreating figure, not that she was heard.

Katsuki Bakugou made his way to stand beside Ochako Uraraka. "What about you Round Face? Not going to 'use the bathroom'."

"What are you talking about?"

"I am not going to bullshit you Round Face, but I saw you stare a hole in that green-haired extra from 1-B for having a conversation with him and wanting to be on his team in the second round." Katsuki said, reminding her of the green-eyed presence that haunted her then. "Deku, that nerd is the type that takes what is given to him, just saying."

Ochako took a few to think it over but was still not able to address her feelings towards Izuku she did not entertain the thought. "I can always talk to him when he gets back, it's probably not my place."

"Suit yourself." Katsuki left to prepare for his match.

Bonus:

"Well, well, looks like you do have some bite after all"

Izuku narrowed his eyes as the figure of the number two pro-hero Endeavour came into view as he exited the tunnel. "What do you want, Endeavour?" Izuku questioned trying to keep his anger from influencing his action.

The flame-covered face of the hero twisted into something unreadable. The pro looked at the hero in training as if to examine him, he then spoke. "I am here to sweeten the deal that I had offered you earlier, I like that fire that you displayed young man." Izuku moved to speak but was stopped by the raising of a hand. "Before you say no, I believe that this is an opportunity for you... And or one of your classmates." Izuku looked at the hero confused. "To be brief, I was only going to mentor my son but that can be changed. If you or another student of your choosing is willing then I will open my doors to you or them. In exchange I want you to do everything possible to beat... No, crush Shoto's spirit. No matter what that boy thinks of me he needs to learn to use the tools available to him." Endeavour finished. "If you really are someone who takes after All Might then you are the only one I can hopefully ask for this."

Izuku was ready to tell the pro off, deny his request, and win for his and Todoroki's good. Now however he was having doubts that was the best course of action, so he took the time to think it over. The more he thought about the best course of action the same answer came back. "Fine... I'll do it, that is if you are willing to mentor Momo Yaoyorozu from 1-A as well."

"The creation Quirk girl?" Endeavour asked, getting a nod from Izuku. "I am sure that other pros would want to throw their hats in as well. I don't see her taking my offer even if I did file a request." he said plainly. "But I do have to ask, why her?"

"Well to be frank with you, something happened recently that was out of our control that made her lose confidence in herself, I have been helping her through it but... There is little I can do from my end. I thought that working with someone who had something similar happened to them would help, but I still see it in her eyes." Izuku paused looking down. "I don't want to be someone's security blanket if I can help it."

"So this is a scratch my back, and I will scratch yours type situation... Fine by me, if you keep your end of the bargain then I will do the same. So just the two of you then?" Endeavour asked.

"Wait what? I never said that I wanted..."

"Oh?" Endeavour seemed almost amused. "You are now my child's rival and a student favored by All Might, not to mention a recommendation student like those two. It would be out of character if I settle for just two of them. Out of the five of you, three are in 1-A after all."

(...)

Izuku was in the waiting room provided by the venue for the participants to prepare for each round when he heard a knock at the door. After a couple of taps, he answered the person knocking. "Come in..."

The door slightly opened and Momo peaked her head in nervously. When she noticed that Izuku was looking at her curiously she let out a short breath of relief before letting her nerves take over again. "How are you?"

The question took Izuku off guard, he had taken no damage from his fight with Iida, a quick examination of himself later he answered her. "I am okay... I think." The hesitation was noticed. "I was just about to go back, if you need the room I'll be out of your hair in a moment." With that said Izuku started packing up. Momo watched him put his hero notebook back into his school bag before he made his way to the entrance that she was still standing in front of. As Izuku was about to leave Momo stepped in front of him blocking him from leaving. "What's up?" Izuku asked, confused.

"I'm sorry… but I can't let you leave Izuku." Momo began. "You were acting weird out there, it was almost like you were angry, but not at Iida. Did something happen between you and Todoroki?" Her pensive question was asked with her nervousness clear to anyone paying attention.

Izuku took a minute to gather his thoughts, he didn't want to expose the deal he had made with the number two hero, and he could not betray All Might's trust and let the One for All secret fly so easily, so he looked at the situation at hand and came up with something that was both true and dodged the situation, although he hated the fact that this was a form of lying. He had no other choice, so he spoke of something close to the truth. "Ah… No. I-I-I… we are not fighting or anything if that's what you are thinking." Izuku paused to think of his approach. "He challenged me, he brought my parents into it, and things were said." A cold distant look came across his face as he spoke.

Not wanting to put Izuku into a worse mood she changed the subject choosing to focus on her match she asked Izuku for advice for the upcoming bout with their classmate Tokoyami and his Quirk Dark Shadow, shallow but a graceful exit eluded her. "So... Uhhh... There was one more thing that I wanted to speak to you about."

"Oh, what about?" Izuku spoke, taking the hint.

Momo played with the zipper of her jacket nervously, unable to look Izuku in the eye. Although it took her some time she finally spoke. "I need your advice on how to handle my fight with Tokoyami, I mean if you know how I could take him down, anything that could lend a hand is appreciated."

Izuku took a moment to think it over before he went back to where he was sitting, pulling out a notebook, and pulling a chair for her to sit on. Momo, not being told, sat next to him as he flipped through the notebook labeled 'Hero Analysis for the Future No. 14', this one looked far newer than the ones she had read being on 'No. 7' herself. She found some of the earlier entries cute as they were mostly in crayon and for the most part disorganized, but she loved reading them regardless. If this was on the 14th that would mean he had started a new one after entering UA. It finally dawned on her that if he was searching through the notebook for something that would help him advise a classmate wouldn't that mean that she was in the Hero analysis herself? Her cheeks became bright red as she wondered what he had written and if he had drawn her in her hero costume feeling mild embarrassment mostly due to the Inner side boob that the window of said costume created.

He finished flipping through landing on the page that had the information he needed, taking a deep breath he began by asking a simple question. "Can you make flash or stun grenades?"
