The legalities. I do not own any of the Leverage franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au. Rated M just to be on the safe side.

Prompt: "Technically it wasn't on fire."
"Of course, it wasn't on fire! You completely blew it up!"
Pru couldn't fully understand what she was watching on the screen in front of her. Ever since Sophie had called the rest of the team up to Nate's apartment the night before (since she'd accidentally knocked him out), Pru and Alec had been going through any and all camera footage that they could find in order to piece together a timeline. She had been the one to find the car accident and had pretty much been watching it on repeat. In fact, she hadn't even realized that Nate had woken up until he yelled, "Get out of my house!"
Sophie wasn't taking any of it. "Someone tried to kill you last night."
"What do you want us to do, man?" Eliot interjected. "You want us to blow town and let you figure it out?" "Yes, actually. That's exactly what I want you to do."
Pru was attempting to not smile as Sophie began to speak again. "We found the phone number of the hospital in your pocket, and we know what you did."
"We know that you saved Matt Kerrigan and his daughter." Pru smiled at the mastermind. "And we are all really, really proud of you. Even if the care was on fire."
"Technically, it wasn't on fire."
Pru scoffed. "Oh yes, Nate, of course it wasn't on fire. You just got out of there just before it completely blew up!" Alec spoke up before the mastermind could retort. "Anyway, nobody else id gonna help that guy and his little girl. Okay, that's what we do. We help people. By the way, Pru and I compared Sophie's description of your attacker to the accident footage from the security camera."
Pru turned her laptop so that Nate could see what she was looking at. "Do you realize that, on average, people are caught on security cameras thirteen times a day? ATM cameras, traffic cams, ex cetera."
"Yeah, it's crazy, man, but we can track him. Well, until now because I lost him in this."
Pru turned her laptop back to her and tuned out the remainder of the conversation. She didn't even look up when Parker and Alec left for the bank. Though she did hear Eliot say, "She was dressed that way 'cause she'd doing a con."
"What, you thought she was dressed like a nun for no reason?" Pru gave Nate an incredulous look. "Nate, it's Parker."
The mastermind nodded slightly. "Okay, fair enough. Alright, I want you out of my house. Out. I'm going upstairs and getting cleaned up. I want all this stuff out of here. I want you out of here. I'm not a part of this!"
Pru just smirked as she went back to what she had been doing. Nate didn't realize it yet, but he wasn't getting rid of them anytime soon. This was going to be fun.
