With Harry nowhere to be seen, probably arriving late, and Gwen not wanting to talk to him due to his own stubborn refusal to explain what happened to him yesterday, Peter was sitting alone with his lunch tray in the school cafeteria.
As he was eating his french fries, Peter looked up to see MJ with her school lunch tray, He hoped she would notice him when she was walking towards him. Much to his disappointed look, she just passed by his table.
Suddenly, the two started to feel a tingling sensation, almost like their heads was telling them something's wrong. Before MJ knew it, her foot stepped on a juice box that was spilled on the floor, making her slipped off her balance and threw her food tray high to the ceiling.
Instinctually, Peter did a quick turnaround and pulled his left arm out, catching the redhead on her back. MJ, driven by that same strange instinct, caught her food tray with her hands, almost effortlessly catching all of her school lunches in fast succession, much to the two's amazement.
"Wow, nice catch," Peter complimented her fast reflexes.
"Not too bad yourself," MJ complimented back at the boy that saved her from falling. "Thanks, by the way."
"No problem," Peter said, his eyes now on the girl he caught in his arm.
When MJ also looked at him, she started to notice something peculiar about Peter, some weird feeling that's drawing her into him. "Hey, you... you have blue eyes. I didn't notice without your glasses. Did you get contacts?"
Not knowing how to respond, Peter just simply gave a big awkward smile.
"Well, see ya," MJ said, ignoring the strange feeling as she was walking her way to Flash's group.
Feeling disappointed once more with himself for being ignored again, Peter slowly moved back to his cafeteria seat, pouting with a defeated sigh.
As he sat back down to continue eating his lunch, he felt something oddly cold on his right wrist when he placed it down on the table. Peter raised his right hand, seeing his fork somehow stuck to his wrist. He tried to shake it off, but was still stuck. He pulled the fork away from, but to his confusion, revealed a strange long white thread that resembled a web stuck to his wrist.
After forcing the fork off his wrist, another strange long white thread shot out. Peter looked forward to see it attached to another food tray from across the tables. He took one more look to see if any other students may noticed. Peter immediately ducked his head down as he pulled the thread back, throwing the tray behind him.
Peter lifted his head back up and turned around with scared look on his face, because he realized he just spilled the tray on Flash's back. The group he was sitting with gave an amusing laugh at his predicament, much to Flash's exaggerated shock.
Afraid he could end up in an unwanted confrontation with his bully, Peter quickly got up from his cafeteria seat and sprinted his way out of the cafeteria. He tried to ignore all the weird stares from the students as they noticed the school tray was being dragged by some strange long white thread that was stuck to Peter's wrist.
Flash turned around to see Peter hastily headed for the exit doors. "Parker?"
As Peter made it out of the cafeteria, the students laughed at the tray that was left behind and struggling against the doors.
Rushing his way to his school locker, Peter looked down at his wrist to see a strange white rash that remained after breaking his bind from the tray. He reached to his locker and quickly twisting the combination to unlock it,
Suddenly, Peter started to feel another tingling sensation inside his head again. It's almost like he could feel he could see every direction at once, if that's even possible, from a tiny fly flapping its wing near the ceiling to a random student spitting spit balls across the hallway at someone before, in a flash, someone was throwing a punch behind him.
Peter, in a split-second motion, swung his head out the way of the incoming punch, where it left a big dent on his locker. He turned around to see that punch belonged to Flash, who was confronting him with great intimation, making Peter step away from his locker.
The surrounding students noticed the confrontation taken place and began crowding around Flash and Peter. "Hey, it's a fight!"
"You think you're funny, don't ya freak?" Flash said menacingly.
"Flash, it was just an accident," Mary Jane yelled, hoping to break up the unnecessary confrontation.
"Well, this is me breaking his teeth," Flash back-talked his girlfriend. "That's the accident."
Gwen joined in the crowd, seeing her best friend she left not even too long ago being forced into a brutal confrontation. "Stop it, Flash!"
"I don't wanna fight you, Flash," Peter said, hopping to avoid being forced into a fist-fight with his bully.
"Well, I wouldn't want to fight me either," Flash smirked, getting into a generic fighting pose.
Already, Flash threw a first punch at Peter, who then quickly moved his head out of the way. He tried throwing another punch, but managed to dodge it again.
In Peter's perspective, as Flash was about to throw a punch, everything was going in slow motion. He moved his entire body to the right, completely unharmed as Flash's fist just simply passed by his head before moving back to his position, much to his confusion.
Little did he know, Mary Jane started to experience that same slowness from her vision too, which frightened her as she was disoriented by how everyone seemed like they were experiencing zero gravity in space.
Flash, this time, charged his body forward with his fist, making Peter instinctively bend over his knees in 90 degrees, seeing MJ and Gwen literally looking down on him. He folded back up and turned around just in time to see Harry walked in by the girls' side.
"Gwen, Harry! Help him!" MJ nudged them, afraid this could get out of hand.
Inconspicuously, one of Flash's goons walked around to behind Peter, preparing to charge forward with his arms out to knock him down. Though in a split second, Peter sensed that guy about to come in, then instinctively jumped high to the air and somehow did a multi-backflip before landing flawlessly on the floor.
The students became largely shocked by such an amazing stunt.
Peter seemed a bit shaken as he tried to steadied himself into his own fighting pose. Like everyone else, even he was confused by how he managed to attempt that impressive backflip.
Harry's jaw dropped with his eyes frowned, trying to comprehend whether that was really his best friend standing there. "Which one?"
"He's all yours, man," One of Flash's friends said.
Flash shoved him aside, and with a furious look on his face, came in with full swing of his arms at Peter, who was constantly and flawlessly dodging and blocking each and every attempt, until suddenly, his fist was grabbed by Peter's hand, making him growled in pain from the hard grasp on his fist.
Then, in one strong swoop, Peter punched him in the chest, which send him flying across from one end of the school hallway to the other. As Flash finally landed back on the floor, he slid into one student's leg, making him dropped his food tray and spilled it all over Flash's face.
The students exclaimed a cheer for Peter's victory against his bully as he was smiling in disbelief, yet feeling pride of what he just did.
One of Flash's friends looked back at Peter with disgust on his face. "Jesus, Parker, you are a freak," He said with hateful tone in his voice.
Hearing those last four words echo'ed inside Peter's head, making his prideful expressions turned to fear, realizing he was right, mainly of what he was becoming. Seeing MJ's and Gwen's bewildered expressions didn't help make it any better, either.
Harry, on the other hand, couldn't help but be awestrucked by what he just witnessed. "Peter, that is amazing."
Still scared of what he was becoming, along with not able to bare to see the devastated looks on MJ's and Gwen's face, Peter just sprinted out of the school in self-loathe, despite hearing Harry's pleads to come back.
Needing to know what's even going on with the poor nerd, Mary Jane and Gwen gave each other the look that said they need to go and chase after the fleeing Peter.

A/N: Quite a way for a drama to get Peter(and MJ to an extend) to experience first hand what his abilities were like in combat.
Now for the next chapter, it'll be just Peter experiencing the full extend of his powers. I actually intend for Mary Jane to experience her's in much later chapters, as I wanted Peter and MJ to discover more for themselves alone without knowledge of the other first. Hope this would help ease the expectations for the next chapter.
Anyway, any constructive criticisms and comments would be greatly appreciated. I hope you enjoy reading this chapter.

DCDGojira: Thanks for another kind words
Who knows? It wasn't something I thought would be possible at the time I was laying out the first book. Maybe I'll tackle a No Way Home story at some point. It would be interesting to get my MJ's shared experiences added to the mix for Tom's Peter
Bountyhunter1977: Thx, man
It is an interesting thought now that I think about it. Sadly, it's not very vital in this fanfic since their original incarnations never made a big deal about it in the long run
