As he was already finished helping Aunt May and Henry with cleaning up his childhood house - which now soon to be vacated, much to his sadness, Peter was making his way back into the city.

During that entire time, the dear boy had been thinking about his aunt's very strange, yet very uplifting words about his retired alter ego; Peter thought everyone's were better off without him, but then, he slowly came to realize there were some people out there that need Spider-Man, and maybe that's more important than what he wanted: a decent, ordinary life.

After finally back in town, Peter climbed his way to the top of the rooftops, now feeling very motivated to prove that his alter ego wasn't all that gone after all. "Strong focus on what I want," He murmured to himself.

Turning around to face the far edge of the building he was standing on, with a serious look in his eyes, Peter began to gradually raising up his sprint towards it with every deep breath his human body could muster to strong-will his powers back into existence.

But, just before Peter was about to leap off the building in an amazing fashion, he felt himself shook when he felt an earthquake rumbling out of nowhere, making him stop near the ledge.

Before Peter could see where it was coming from, something resembled a metal spine just stroke up from below his peripheral vision.

Just several minutes before, Mary Jane was hanging out with Gayle, as was told in her text message after she woken up in Peter's apartment earlier that morning, strolling around the somewhat crowded district.

"... So... how's you two's wedding plans going along?" MJ said curiously, as she was taking another sip from her coffee.

"Oh, they are going well with them; his parents pretty much organized with the Riverside Church and handling the decorations, while John and I were checking out the guest list. We managed to get our grooms, bridesmaids; you being listed as one, of course," Gayle said with a smile. "We're just having trouble finding the right photographer available."

"How about Peter?" MJ suggested her boyfriend to be their photographer for the wedding.

Gayle raised an eyebrow, not liking that boy being brought up in this conversation. "Why him?"

"Peter's been doing photography since our time in Midtown High, and he actually worked for your fiancé's father when he got those great shots of Spider-Man for the Bugle, so he would be a perfect choice to bring him on."

"I don't know... " Gayle said skeptically. "I just don't feel like we should invite him."

MJ was slightly taken aback by the skeptic tone of her voice and her choice of words. "Why not?"

Gayle let out a sigh, knowing she had to break the ice eventually. "Mary Jane... don't you think this new boyfriend of yours taking advantage of you... like that stupid football jock you used to date back in Midtown?"

"Gayle!" MJ's mouth dropped in offence to such accusing remarks. "Flash IS nothing like Peter; he'd never take advantage of me!"

"How can you be sure?!" Gayle exclaimed with her arms out. "Don't you find it suspicious about why he never been around to your play?"

"In case you didn't know about it, he actually did attend my play just a few nights ago," MJ tried to defuse her sister's accusations.

"Maybe the reason he showed up at all was because I drove some sense into him when he so-rudely bumped into me at the planetarium."

"What...?" MJ was flabbergasted by her sister's words. Hearing that sentence from her sister made the redhead's mouth dropped in shock.

So, all this time, Gayle already spoken to Peter before and not wanting him to be with her? Was she the other reason why he's been feeling down lately? That would explain it so much, now that MJ thought about it.

"But... Gayle... how could you?"

The older Watson sighed in frustration at her sister's insistence. "MJ, you seriously can't still be defending this guy after some shady things I keep on pointing out about him?"

"How could you possibly know what Peter's like? Asides from Mom, he's been supportive of me. Sure, he's not always there when I need him, but he makes up for it every time."

"MY GOD, MJ! How stubborn do you have to be to not get it through your thick head?!" Gayle exclaimed in annoyed exasperation. "What if it was all just an act to get on your good side? I thought a pretty good actress like you would be able to tell the difference."

"Oh, don't you dare try to pull the skill-issue card on me, Gayle!" MJ snapped. Then, when she calmed down, a thought just occurred to her. "Do you realize you just sound like Dad right now?"

This time, it was Gayle's turn to have her mouth dropped in offence of the redhead's remarks, especially since even she, herself, hated their own deadbeat of a father just as much as her own little sister. "MJ... why would you compare me to him?!"

"How could I not?" MJ retorted, not allowing Gayle's outburst get to her. "All our lives living with him, he always been a control freak that always tried to hook me up with boys that's preferable to him. How you trying to tell me which boy I'm allowed to date was anything different to him?"

"I... " Gayle found herself at a stump when she realized MJ did make up a good point, even though she tried telling herself otherwise. "I didn't mean... I just want what's best for you."

Despite what her big sister started off with came off as harsh, after letting herself recollect her thoughts, the redhead knew she never meant to come off as off-putting.

MJ softly placed her hands on Gayle's, at least to offer some reassurance that she did mean well. "I understand you're just trying to look out for me, and I'll always be glad to have you as my sister, but you have to know that I'm not that same girl you have to protect anymore; I don't think I ever been since you left for Florida."

"MJ... "

Abruptly cutting off Gayle's next words, a loud rumble was heard, as well as the feeling of several small earthquakes trembling beneath their feet, causing the people around their surroundings to panic.

What the older Watson girl didn't realized, her little sister's Spider-Sense started twinkling just shortly after the quakes seemed to cease, giving the redhead the same strange sensational feeling she already experienced many times at this point.

Before Mary Jane could register what her senses were trying to warn her about, the vision of the danger suddenly came to her; from a considerably short distance away, a grown man in a greenish brown trench coat with four metal-looking arms behind his back was standing on top of a rooftop, and one of his arms was holding a man by a chokehold over a tall height, with nothing beneath him but the crowded roads below.

Then, when it became clear who the said-man was, MJ's expressions turned from a focused look to a frightened one. "Peter... " Her muttered voice let out a sound of horrification.

With the fear for the love of her life overwriting any sense of self-control, the redhead just immediately sprinted without a thought of hesitation.

Gayle's eyes widened as she was left awestruck by her little sister's sudden rush in a particular direction leading towards the source of the quake. "Mary Jane!"

MJ's desperate focus on getting to Peter deafened her big sister's shouting pleas to her, not realizing she was trying to catch up to her. When she tried to make her way through the street, MJ hastily looked around to find a hidden spot for her to change into her costume.

Being lagged behind by both the panicking crowd concealing her view and her sister's surprisingly fast sprint, Gayle somehow lost sight of her, much to her frustration and dread.

After some minutes of having trouble navigating through the people, when she heard a nearby bystander yelling about someone on a rooftop, Gayle looked up to see that some guy in a trench coat with four metal arms holding on to, who she eventually realized, was Peter Parker.

Already guessing where she be heading towards to, Gayle made her way towards that rooftop, a worrying look appeared on her face for the fear of her sister's wellbeing.

Just when he thought he couldn't've found himself in a worse time to be caught, Peter found himself in the mercy of his former idol.

"Well, well, Peter Parker. It's wonderful to see you again," The four-armed scientist said with a sly smile. "What does a dear boy like you doing on some rooftop like this, hmm?"

"Otto...?" Peter struggled to get his words out as he was being choked by his mechanical arms' hold on his neck. "What... do you want...?"

"I want you to find your pal, Spider-Man. Tell him to meet me at the Westside Tower at three o'clock."

"But I don't know where he is."

Doc Ock shook his head, not taking a no for answer. "Well, you better find him soon, otherwise I will -" Cutting off his sentence, a sound of a splattered web made him look up.

Before either man of science of opposite sides could even get a chance to register what was that noise, Spinneret, in full red-and-white suit with her hair braided, came swiftly like a blur out of nowhere, knocking Doc Ock off his balance.

When one of Ock's mechanical arms was forced to relinquished its hold on him, Peter started to feel the gravity pulling him down. But just as he was about to fall to the mercy of the hard pavement below, Peter felt a latching grip around his wrist.

"I got you," As Spinneret managed to catch the love of her life and pulled him to her arms, she immediately reacted to her sixth sense warning her of Ock's tentacles and did a leaping back flip over.

After they landed on the rooftop, Spinneret gave a serious nod to Peter. "Run!" Then, she quickly twisted and went into her stance as she, for the first time, finally met face-to-face with Doctor Octopus.

"Ahhh, what a fine pleasure to finally meet the girlfriend of my enemy," Doc Ock smirked with a sarcastic tone.

"I wish I could say the same for the guy who tried to hang someone over the ledge," Spinneret said snarky. "What do you want with him?"

Scoffing off her comments, Doc Ock got straight to the point. "Since the dear boy wouldn't tell me where's that photogenic boyfriend of yours, maybe you can find him for me."

"And why would I do that for some eight-arm squid like you?"

"Otherwise, I would have to take that information... by force!" And with that, Doc Ock let out a growl as he sent his first strike against the heroine.

With her natural instincts guiding her flexibility, Spinneret just effortlessly sweeping and swooping around the four tentacles, attempting to land her aggressive kicks on Ock himself.

Hiding away in a safe spot from the fight, Peter was looking at the constant fight between the love of his life and his former idol. It was times like these that made him closed his fists in frustration for being forced on the sidelines.

All of the sudden, a loud bang was heard from a nearby rooftop entrance, making him jumped in surprise. When Peter turned to the source of the sound, he was caught off-guard by the appearance of one person he didn't expect to be here.

It was Gayle.

When the Watson brunette looked around, with a panicked expression on her face, she immediately saw Peter standing by the side. "You…" At the sight of the boy making her eyes turned to a scowl, she confronted him. "WHERE'S MY SISTER?!"

Peter was left speechless and froze by internal panicking, as he didn't know how to answer her without giving away MJ's alter ego on the spot.

Just when Spinneret thought she was about to get an upper hand, her eyes widened underneath her lenses when she heard and glanced back to see Gayle confronting Peter in a verbally hostile matter.

In that unfortunate moment of weakness, Doc Ock just took advantage of it to recover from Spinneret's constant attacks and landed a strike on the side of her mask, forcing her off-balance, before catching her by the ankle. Now with the heroine at his mercy, he just mercilessly smacking her back-and-forth against the surface of the rooftop grounds, leaving her no chance to fight back.

Seeing his fallen idol holding the love of his life right before his eyes, Peter felt them narrowed to a growling stare and fists squeezing shut as he felt his burning rage building up from underneath his skin… no, not only just his rage, there was… something else was also burning inside, with intense adrenaline.

Whatever that burning feeling was in that moment, it somehow felt familiar to Peter, and the only other time he had a feeling like that was… the fateful day his and MJ's life changed.

And with that strong feeling pumping through his veins, any sense of logic and fear within Peter suddenly evaporated and ran in an insane effort to try stop Doc Ock, which caught Gayle off-guard by his relentless action.

Despite Doc Ock's complete focus on the heroine, one of his mechanical arms instantly took notice of the dear boy's endearing but futile bravado, and just as he threw the first punch, the arms just blocked it and then grabbed him by the torso.

Even though he now had one bargaining chip, Doc Ock just robotically turned his head slightly, setting his sights on the by-standing Watson, flashing an evil smirk on the edge of his lips when he recalled the heroine's hesitation when the brunette made her appearance known.

Despite her vein effort to escape from the danger, Gayle screamed in a panic when one of Ock's free tenacles just thrusted itself towards the brunette, before wrapping itself tightly around her torso.

"NOOOO!" Spinneret yelled out loud, as she was seeing the two people closest to her at the mercy of the evil four-armed scientist.

Doc Ock turned his eyes on the heroine again. "If you want to see these two safe, you better go find your photogenic, arachnid boyfriend very soon…" He said seriously. "… Any delays, and I will peel the flesh off their bones."

And with the end of that conversation, Doc Ock pulled back the arm holding her leg, then threw her against a brick building, leaving behind a crushed impression of her body on impact.

Now that she's out of the way, at least for a few short moments, Doc Ock leaped away from the rooftop, preparing for the inevitable confrontation with his enemy once more, despite having no knowledge of the fact that said-enemy was actually in the claws of his mechanical arms.

After feeling herself being released from the cobbled imprint, landing on her palms and knees, Spinneret tried to shake off the dizziness before she got a bearable view of Doc Ock in the distance.

As she got back on her boots, Spinneret extended her hand to shoot out her next web-line at the nearest building. Despite the villain's warnings, she just couldn't let herself stand by and let the two people she cared the most get away just like that, not when there's a chance of still saving them.

As the four-armed villain was leaping from rooftops to rooftops, Peter was struggling to get himself free from the harden grip of the tenacles as he was feeling the breezing wind constantly brushing his face, while still brewing with anger at his former idol for harming the love of his life.

But then, as Peter glanced over his shoulder, he could see that Spinneret's barely visible from the distance, no doubt in her desperate attempt to catch up as fast as her webs could allow. Suddenly catching the dear boy off-guard, Peter felt the mechanical arm that was wrapped tight around him was about to do something drastic when it dragged him closer to the four-armed scientist.

That's when he realized what Doc Ock was about to do; due to the scientist being left with only two arms free to manage his escape and other two occupied with holding on to hostages, it became a hindrance enough for Spinneret to catch him in time.

In that exact moment, Peter then got flung away from the four-armed menace and into the blue sky, where he had no place to hang on and fall for his dear life. Before Peter could scream at the sight of him about to meet his demise with the pavement below, he heard the love of his life yelling out for him.

"PETER!"

The moment Peter quickly looked back up see the heroine sky-diving down towards him, with her arm out to shoot out her webs, he somehow felt a familiar instinct reaching at the back of his head, telling him to reach out his hand to her's.

That's when a miracle was about to happen. And then… *Thwip*

Right before their very shocking eyes, the couple witnessed two web-lines shot out from their respective wrist, then, just as their perception of the world around them somehow slowed down, the webs interweaved with each other upon contact from the point of opposite ends meet.

Immediately filled with a biggest exhilaration of relief, Spinneret had her arms that were holding the-now entwined web-line pulled back.

In the midst of being uplifted into the air, the sudden whiplash of the inverted descension made his glasses lost their hold on his face and cracked one of its loose lenses the instant upon impact on the surface of the New York streets, not that Peter seemed to notice when he was too caught in the moment of being caught with the love of his life to care.

After Peter was safely in her arms, Spinneret did a quick turn and fired another web-line at a nearby building, swinging at an accelerated arch, before landing smoothly on a rooftop.

"Oh my God, you okay?" Spinneret asked with exhaling puff, as she was clasping over Peter's cheeks with her gloved palms.

"Yeah, I'm fine, Mary Jane," Peter sighed with relief, he held his hands around Spinneret's.

After their short exchange of reliefs for each other's presences, the terrible reality just sunk in for the masked redhead. "Peter… my sister…" She cried.

"Don't worry," Peter tried to reassure her. "We'll get her back."

"How –" Then Spinneret's words trailed off when she realized something the moment she looked at her holding Peter's hands. "Wait… you shot webs from your wrists! Then… that means… ?"

Letting his right hand out for one more reality check, Peter formed a two-finger gesture and shot out a quick splatter of web out of his wrist. "Yeah…" He turned back to the heroine's eyes with glee. "… I think I am."

Without a single word, Spinneret quickly engulfed the love of her life with the biggest hug ever, now that her hero's finally making his eventual return.

With Peter finally getting the hang of having his powers back, he and Mary Jane were web-swinging side-by-side to the Daily Bugle, where the former's discarded Spider-Man costume was supposedly be stored.

"Are you sure your suit's in there?" Mary Jane asked.

"Yeah," Peter said. "J.J kept blabbering about it in the recent special edition since after I ditched it."

"Okay," MJ nodded. "I guess one thing's good about Jonah, he never keeps his mouth shut."

"Yeah, imagine trying to deal with that everyday," Peter joked.

MJ shook her head with a grin. With enough joking aside, she put on her serious face. "After we recover your costume from Jonah, we have to make it to the Westside tower before three."

Peter nodded heavily, swearing to the love of his life that they'll make sure to save Gayle from the crutched metal arms of Doctor Octopus.

As they made it to the glass rooftop of the Bugle, which was directly right on top of J. Jonah Jameson's office, the couple started searching around from up above to find the costume. After a few moments of looking, they saw it being hanged on one of the walls. They then also saw the publisher himself looking out his window as he was smoking a cigar.

Before Peter and MJ could go in and web-snatch the costume, they noticed Robbie and Hoffman just stepping into Jonah's office.

"Still no whereabouts on your son's fiancée," Robbie sadly informed the Editor-In-Chief. "I'm sorry, Jonah."

"It's all my fault," Jonah said in sad contempt of himself, much to the unsuspected couple's surprise. "I drove Spider-Man and Spinneret away."

"They're the only ones that could've stopped Octavius," Hoffman chimed in.

For the first time in his entire career as Editor-In-Chief, Jonah nodded his head in agreement as he looked in admiration of the hanged costume of the once-masked menace. "Yes... Spider-Man and Spinneret were the heroes," He expressed with a defeated sigh, before turning to his fellow colleagues. "I just couldn't see it."

Just as Jonah had his back facing the costume, a loud sound of splat was heard, making the three men inside jumped by surprise.

"They were... " Jonah turned back before doing a double take when he realized the costume was replaced by a large net of web with an attached note in the center. "Thieves. Criminals," He then snatched the note from the web and looked at the written words.

Your Friendly Neighborhood

Spider-Man and Spinneret

"He brought back that Spinning-Jenny freak back and stole my suit!" Jonah realized, as he scrunched the note and frowned his eyebrows in exasperation. "They're the menaces to the entire city! I want those two Wall-Crawling Arachnids prosecuted! I want them strung up by their webs!"

Then, when he looked up. Jonah noticed his glass roof was left opened by yours truly, directing the scrunched-up note upwards at the roof in anger.

"I want SPIDER-MAN AND SPINNERET!"

With the repossession of the Spider-Man costume and web-swinging several city-blocks away from the Daily Bugle, Mary Jane and Peter stopped by a random rooftop.

"I'll change over here," Peter pointed to one of the air vents nearby. After seeing MJ nodded with no complaints, he then walked over to said-vents and ducked, so that he wouldn't be seen changing out of his clothes, not that the redhead wouldn't mind seeing, truthfully.

Now fully donned back in his costume again, the hero himself finally revealed himself when he stood up from the air vent he used as cover as his beloved started to smile underneath her mask when she saw her beloved partner standing before her once again in his red-and-blue suit.

"It's great to have you back, my Amazing Hero," Spinneret said lovingly, as she engulfed him with her arms around his neck.

The Amazing Spider-Man gave a smile of his own under his mask as he returned the hug, soothing her back. "It's good to be back, my Spectacular Girl."

After a couple of moments of heartwarming reunion of their respective alter egos, they broke up the hug when they knew it's time to get serious.

"Come on. Let's go and save your sister," Spider-Man said with determination in his voice.

Spinneret gave a strong nod to his words. And so, it's time to meet with Doctor Octopus himself.

Words: 3963

A/N: There you have it, folks; the return of the Amazing Spider-Man himself and reunited with his partner-in-crime and love of his life at long last, after many chapters of them being apart.

Can't wait to have them both in action again when they come to confront the four-armed villain as our beloved Spidey-Couple again; it's about to get exciting when the next chapter rolls out.

Anyway, any constructive criticisms and comments would be greatly appreciated. I hope you enjoy reading this chapter.
