Chapter 3
As I watched the wheel spin, I held my breath, wondering how many species I would get. With the wheel starting to slow down, I closed my eyes, and my nerves started to get to me.
I could hear the wind of the wheel as it spun and the clicking and clanking of the dividers of the options hitting the arrow.
After a while, I heard the wheel gradually slowing down, until it finally came to a stop. I opened my eyes and looked at the wheel, and was shocked to see that it had landed on three.
"Three? I got three species?!" I exclaimed when I saw the big red arrow pointing to the big number three on the wheel.
Although I was only expecting to get one or two, I was pleased with the result. Three had always been my favorite number, and it was right in the middle of the possible outcomes, one out of five, which made it even better.
"Yes, it seems like you will be a tribrid,
meaning you will get three species, which also means we will spin the next wheel three times. Are you ready for the next wheel?" he explained with the opportunity to give me a moment and reconcile myself.
"I can give you a moment if it is needed." I guess, he could sense my anxiety and how nerve-racking, this was for me. I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and after a short while, nodded.
"Yeah, I'm ready now, Thank you," I said opening my eyes with a grateful smile and looking back at him.
He smiled and said, "This spin will be your first species." He put his hand on the wheel and spun it, I watched as it turned.
As it started to slow down I got nervous again, my nail-biting habit starting to kick in without me realizing it when I looked down I realized I was biting my fingernails. I know it's a bad habit, I can't help it, it just happens to me without realizing it whenever I get stressed or nervous.
The wheel finally stopped, although I didn't realize it until he cleared his throat letting me know.
I must have been stuck in my head or daydreaming again.
I shook my head and looked up at him then the wheel and froze. I looked at the word that the red arrow pointed at. Am I reading that right? I thought to myself, There's no way I'm reading that right.
I reread the word on the wheel.
Werewolf.
Well at least it's something close to the shapeshifters in the movie, so it's not that uncommon in that universe. I never thought I would be a werewolf though.
"I assume you heard of werewolves before, yes?" I nodded.
"Well, your powers are a werewolf guide, enhanced strength, advanced healing, shifting, enhanced speed, senses, and stamina. Unlike the shapeshifters who are controlled by emotions, You will be able to control your shift with time and practice."
I marveled in amazement.
Wait.
"Wait, What do you mean by werewolf guide?" I asked.
"Well, it's a guide to guide you through being a werewolf and so, you are not alone through the process, they will be able to talk to you unlike the shifters in this universe, who don't have one. They will be unlocked sometime before your first shift."
Liam continues "They will have a name and will also have a personality of their own. They will also have access to your memories. They will also be able to take over with your permission or when times get too stressful."
I won't be alone, after all, I thought to myself already thinking about my wolf and their personality.
I wonder if we will get along, and what their fur color will look like?
He clears his throat as I look up at him, he asks, "I know this is very fascinating and exciting, any more questions?" I thought for a moment before shaking my head.
"Okay, then we shall continue," as he grabbed the wheel and spun again.
The wheel slowed down for a second time and landed on the words, I never thought would go together with a werewolf.
Vampire?
I shook my head in confusion and disbelief.
