It was the end of the week. Tetsurō was being released today. Bright and early nurse Hirawa came to Tetsurō's room with a lot of paperwork.

"Today is the day. How are you feeling Mr. Kuroo?" The nurse asked enthusiastically

"I'm feeling quite good, I'm going home today which means I can make Kenma, the Lava Cakes he likes so much!"

"I'm glad you're feeling better!"

"Thank you, so now tell me. Do I have to sign all these papers or can you just let me go?"

"Nice try Mr. Kuroo but you do have to sign all of these and read each page carefully. Also is there someone you would like me to call to pick you up?"

"Fine I'll sign them but please just call me Tetsurō, no need to keep being so formal, after all, I'm no longer your patient. And no, I can take a taxi, thank you anyway."

"Of course. Well then leave them, at the front desk when you're done and you'll be free to go. Stay safe Tetsurō." The nurse smiled and left the room.

Before Tetsurō left he went to visit Kenma once more. "Hey Kenma, I'm being released today! I just wanted to come by and see if you'd woken up. I won't be so close anymore so before I go I wanted to say something. And if you choose to hear a single thing I say, listen to this."

Tetsurō grabbed Kenma's hand "I Tetsurō Kuroo, love you, Kenma Kozume, with every fiber of my soul. Kenma it has always been you. I have lived my life so full of joy because you were by my side and to this day I only have one regret and it is not telling you how I felt sooner, because maybe we could have avoided all this. I'm so very sorry Kenma that things have ended up this way. But I'm ready for you now. Just wake up, okay?"

Tetsurō bent over to plant a kiss on Kenma's lips. "Well, I'll let you rest now. I'll come back tomorrow. Goodbye, my love" He walked out of the room one hand over his mouth trying to suppress his sobs. He didn't bother to look back.

If he had, he'd have seen the tear that rolled down Kenma's face. He heard everything Tetsurō had said. But he was trapped inside his mind, and there was no way out.
