Previously

On the battlefield, julius' scarf was on the battlefield, fluttering in the wind. However, there was no sign of its owner.

Now

Tenya was standing in front of the king, his father, as his older brothers stood there with him. One looked caring, while the other looked indifferent. Just then, a knight walked in, with a report. "What have you learned?" the caring brother asked.

"Of the eight fortresses attacked, half of them have fallen. The rest repelled the demonic forces with heavy losses. The only to not sustain any losses was fort dezarro, where the master mage rondant was able to slay the enemy commander," the knight reported. "I'm sorry to say that fort kusorien has been completely destroyed," the knight said.

The king clenched his hands together. "Julius would have been at fort kusorien," the king said sadly. "As sad as this is, we need to figure out our next move," the uncaring brother said. The caring brother looked sharply at him. "How can you just say that?" he demanded.

The king raised his hand, calling for silence. "No, cylis is correct, leston. While we are sad, we MUST have our heads on straight, and plan our next move. We can grieve for julius later," the king said.

"Father," tenya began, getting the attention of his father. "As the new hero, what would you like me to do?" he asked. "I'm afraid that you must leave the academy as of today, my son," the king said. "News of the previous hero's death is already spreading throughout the kingdom. But, for the new hero to be one of my sons, let alone two of them, is incredible," the king said. "Dismissed," the king said, dismissing them all.

Tenya bowed, and left the room. He was sobbing softly as he walked down the hall, but was barely able to keep himself together. "Julius…" he said, in a tone full of misery.

Hours later, tenya was sitting in a well furnished room and it was dark out, when the door opened. Tenya looked at the door, and saw hyrince. "Hey there," hyrince said. "It's good to see you, hyrince," tenya said as he got up.

"Shlain," hyrince began. "Ye-" tenya was saying, before hyrince bowed at him. "I'm so sorry, schlain. Julius should be alive and well, not me," hyrince said. "What do you mean?" tenya asked.

Hyrince dug around his back for a bit, before he pulled out a massive red feather, with a gold core. "That's -" tenya tried to say. "This is a phoenix feather," hyrince began his explanation, as he handed the feather to tenya. "It has the power to bring a person back to life, but only once," hyronce explained what a phoenix feather does.

"Normally, the feather is supposed to be carried SOLELY by the hero. However, since i was handling our defense, julius gave it to me to hold on to," he explained. Hyrince's face showed agitation. "Shlain, i'm so -" "you have nothing to apologize for, hyrince," tenya said.

Hyrince looked at schlain in shock. "He insisted that you carry it, didn't he. He also most likely said something along the lines of "i'm not gonna die. So don't worry, it's fine," tenya said. Hyrince looked at shlian with a relieved smile. "You really do know your brother," hyrince said.

"Hyrince, please, tell me how it happened," tenya asked, as he motioned towards a chair/sofa for them to sit on. "Very well," hyrince said, as he took a seat, and schlain sat across from him. And so, hyrince began to tell what happened.

Flashback, end of the fight at the fort

Julius was standing before the guy in charge of the first corp, sword drawn and surprise on his face. "We had just slain the enemy commander, when SHE appeared," hyrince began. Julius and hyrince heard the sound of bare feet hitting the ground, and they turned to the source of the sound. What they saw was a beautiful young woman walking towards them. "She was dressed in an all white dress, and the only bit of visible color on her was green hair," he said.

The beautiful woman, who they recognized as the nightmare of the labyrinth, raised her arm, causing julius and hyrince to tense up and sweat a bit in nervousness. She lowered her hand towards them as her eyes flashed open, with a bright red glow. After that, the world went black.

"After that, i must've blacked out, because the next thing i know, is that i was under my shield," hyrince said. Hyrince pushed his shield off of him, and slowly got to his feet. He forced himself to walk forward. After a few minutes of walking, he saw the scarf that julius always wore, but no sign do julius.

Flashback end

Hyrince places Julius's scarf on the table between him and schlain. "That belonged to my brother," tenya whispered in shock. "There is only one thing that leaves no trace, a [rot] attack," hyrince explained. "A [rot] attack? What's that?" tenya asked hyrince.

Hyrince sighed, before he responded. "It's the element of destruction. Also known as the element of death. Anything struck by it is killed instantly, and turned to dust," hyrince explained. "As it is, we were fortunate that there was anything LEFT of julius left, after that attack," hyrince said sadly.

"It's fine," tenya said. "My brothers' dream, i will GLADLY inherit it," tenya said, tears in his eyes, as he clenched the scarf of his brother. "Well then," hyrince said, as he stood up and held a hand in front of schlain. "Please allow me to protect you. I was unable to save your brother, but I will hopefully be able to protect you," hyrince asked.

Tenya smiled. "Thank you, hyrince," tenya said, as he took hyrince's hand.

morning

Tenya was practicing water magic, by shooting at some metal buckets. "Looks like my skills with elemental magic have increased," tenya said. "Wish i could help. It's what deku-kun would want to do," ochaco said, as she laid on a bench.

"Well, there may be a way to help with that," tenya said. "How?" ochaco asked. "By forming a contract," tenya said. "How do we do that?" she asked. "Come here and give me your paw, ochaco," tenya said.

Ochaco did as asked and took tenya's hand. A glow appeared around the both of them, while golden chains appeared on their connecting hand/paw. After it was finished, tenya removed his hand from ochaco's paw. "There we go, the contract is formed," he said.

"That was it?" ochaco asked. "That was rather easy," ochaco said. "Well, forming a contract is easy. BREAKING it, is rather hard," tenya said, as he sheathed his sword. Ochaco was then engulfed in light. When the light died down, she was in a large egg. "Ochaco?" tenya asked, as he used [appraisal] on the egg.

Evolving

"She's evolving?" he asked in shock.

"Prince schlain," a female voice said behind him. Tenya looked behind him, and saw that it was the half-elf maid. "Yes?" tenya asked. "Your father requested you for a meeting with the elves," she said. "I see, thank you," he said. He grabbed the egg ochaco was in, took it to his room, and went to the meeting room, where he sat at the table with his family, across from the elves.

"Finally, we can begin the meeting," potimas said. "I'll be rather blunt, here. The demons are likely NOT going to surrender," he said. "Why's that?" tenya asked. "The reigning demon lord," potimas began. "She wields incredible power that dwarfs that of ANY of her predecessors. Not mention, her associates are also incredibly dangerous," potimas said, while thinking about the newest commanders for her army.

Potimas then looked at tenya. "As the new hero, you'll be expected to kill her, so we can obtain peace, again," potimas said. "He can't go to the battlefield, yet," leston protested. "The previous hero was even younger than this hero when he went to the battlefield for the first time," potimas reminded them.

That night

Tenya was walking around the castle, when he was attacked. The ones doing the attacking were the castle guards. "Kill him, he's killed the king!" the commander of that group said. "SIR!" the knights said.

Teny was shocked, even as the knights drew weapons and prepped their magic. Just then the reincarnation of eraserhead came in, killed the guards, and saved tenya. "Mr. aizawa, what's going on?" tenya asked.

"The guards are brainwashed to think that you killed your father," aizawa explained. "We need to get you out of here. Follow me," aizawa said, leading tenya to the forest, where they were able to regroup with leston. "How can this happen?" tenya asked in despair. "There's a skill that's capable of brainwashing anyone, called 'lust'", aizawa explained.

"Well, lookie what we have here," a beautiful voice called out. The group got in ready stances, when they saw a beautiful girl about 16 with a large chest, blonde hair, pale skin and red eyes walk up to them. "Who are you?" tenya asked. "Sophia keren, of the taken over keren county, which was attacked by the ohts kingdom for worshiping a spider monster as their divine beast," sophia introduced herself.

"Why are you here?" leston asked. "Two reasons. First, to have a bit of fun, while on the job," sophia said. "And the second reason?" tenya asked. Sophia smirked, before she tossed potimas's head to them. "To bring you a gift," she finished.

Some people in white cloaks attacked, while aizawa went after sophia. Aizawa shot at her with his arrows and magic, but sophia blocked the arrows and magic. "Come on, eraserhead, you gotta try harder than that," sophia said.

The way sophia said that, made him realize that she's one of his students. "Who are you, REALLY?" aizawa asked. Sophia smirked, and was behind aizawa in an instant, when she wrapped him in a hug, preventing him from doing anything. Sophia put her mouth next to her former teacher's ear, and whispered something that shocked him. "Momo yaoyorozu," she simply said to him in a whisper, before she threw him into a cliffside, where he made a crater with his body.

Tenya's group was getting cornered, when they heard large wingbeats, they looked up, and saw a large dragon coming at them. "The cavalry has arrived," the dragon said, before it blasted the people in the cloaks with a breath attack, before she landed in front of tenya.

"Ochaco, that you?" tenya asked. "Yeah, i just woke up like this, for some reason," ochaco said. "Quickly, get on my back," she said, and the group did just that, before she flew off. Sophia smirked. "Bye-bye, class officer," she said, as she waved goodbye to them.

After the group was out of sight, sophia turned towards one of the cloaked people. "Tell the commander that the task is complete," she said. The cloaked person nodded, before she pulled out a small spider and spoke to it.

With the group

They were inside a good sized shack, with ochaco outside the shack, listening in. "right, we need to get out of this kingdom," tenya said, as the group looked at a map. "How about the neighboring country?" hyrince asked, pointing at the country opposite to theirs. "That could work, but i don't think fei would be able to fly nonstop across the ocean," tenya said. "I can't," ochaco said to them.

"Then the only way is to go through the labyrinth," aizawa said. "Let's go at dawn," karnatia said. "Alright, little brother, this is where i leave the group," leston said, as he prepared to leave the shack. "Why, brother?" tenya asked. "So i can keep an eye on the kingdom, and to keep our baby sister safe," leston said. "Alright, brother. Those are very good reasons. I wish you luck in the endeavor," tenya said, as he hugged his older brother. Leston hugged his little brother back. "Thank you, schlain. I will be as safe as i can be," leston promised, before he released the hug, and left the shack, to go back to the kingdom.

Present time

It had been a few years, since she discovered most of her domains, and izumi was currently adding to her collection of spiders, before adding them to her little pocket dimension. "Haah," that should be enough for today," izumi said in thought.
