Chapter 11: Underwater City Ambush

At the bridge, the Elite Ninja, Sokka, and Clay walked across the bridge towards the large structure and eventually made it across to the other side. Soon they walked onto a large platform as they stood in the center.

"Alright, we're here. Now how do we go down?" Jade asked curiously.

"Maybe this might help." Trini said as she pressed a button in the center, which jolted a bit with the seven ponies jumping a bit in place with yelps.

Soon the platform began to descend deep down with the ponies riding it.

"I guess that answers our question." Antonio commented with a grin as the others saw the visible glass as fish swam by outside.

Eventually, the platform made it down into a chamber as Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, Antonio, Clay, and Sokka looked at where they were inside as they saw the structures underwater as well through the windows.

One look at it and they realized they were in the lost city.

"We made it, guys." Chase said to his team.

"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go find the Blue Eco Crystal." Clay said with a grin.

With that said, the five walked down the network of the passageways. As the group of seven continued walking down the tunnels, they noticed that they were darker and just as damp from all the sewage that was being pushed up due to some cracks on the windows indicating that this place was over three thousand years old.

As usual, Chase took the lead with his horn lit for some light to guide their way through the passageways. Sunray was bringing up the rear, casting his stormy gaze around him in disapproval, which left Jade, Trini, Clay, Sokka, and Antonio wedged in the middle of the group.

Antonio whistled tunelessly as he stared at the tunnel walls looking for anything that could possibly interest him. After a while, the whistling started to get to the others.

"Antonio. Please stop that. It's kinda irritable," Jade said flatly as Antonio stopped without argument, but pouted in annoyance.

No one spoke again as they continued to walk in silence, the only sounds being the trickling of water and the splashing of their footsteps, until Sunray's aggravated sigh broke the muteness.

"Alright, stop, this is stupid!" Sunray barked, drawing them all to a halt. "We've got the Demodragons up there with the Dark Eco crystal, and we're down here playing 'Century 21!' What's the deal?!"

Chase came to a stop and spun around to face his little brother, growling in agitation.

"Sunray! Knock it off!" Chase snapped, his patience thinning quickly and having about enough of Sunray's behavior towards him. "This isn't a maze game, we're trying to find a place to hide before they come looking for us first!"

"C'mon, Chase! I know even you can think of something better than this! Especially when you should've planned to come back to us!" Sunray shot back.

"I already have and made it back home to you all!" Chase said angrily as Jade, Trini, Antonio, Sokka, and Clay watched the two argue with each other. "The sooner we find the Blue Eco crystal, as well as the Yellow Eco crystal, we can go after the Demodragons! This isn't about you and your stupid urge to bash a few heads, y'know! Think about what's best for our family before you think of yourself! Now let's get going!"

Sunray growled like a feral dog at his older brother.

"Y'know what, 'fearless leader'?" Sunray snarled angrily, "If you'd actually come back sooner or later, you might just figure out that maybe I'm not doing this for me!"

"Whether it is or it isn't, what you do will affect the whole team!" Chase miffed in response, prodding Sunray's chest firmly. "You might want to go out and get yourself and everyone else killed, Sunray, just like you didn't listen when Mom and Dad told us not to fight, but I am not!"

"That's it! Screw you, Chase!" Sunray shouted, slapping Chase's hoof away from his chest. "I'm going back up!"

As Sunray turned to leave, Chase lashed out and grabbed his arm with an iron grip. Sunray snapped his head to him, his emerald eyes ablaze with anger.

"No, you're not!" Chase growled sternly in warning, his green eyes narrowing as his grip tightened on Sunray's arm.

"Let go of my foreleg, Chase." Sunray said, his tone tinted with the promise of a violent retaliation.

Sensing there was going to be fists flying very soon, Antonio quickly rushed in to tear them apart.

Guys! Please, no fighting!" Antonio pleaded as he pulled his cousins apart from each other. "I just got an idea! Two words that can solve all our crystal hunting problems!" They all looked at him expectantly. "Time Share!"

Clay slapped a hoof over his face and sighed as Jade had a dull look on her face as she tapped Antonio on the head, getting his attention.

"You're not quite ripe yet." Jade said, plainly.

"You know, if you guys don't wanna take this as seriously as I do, then I quit! I'm done! Through! Adios!" Sunray snapped, turning away and walking back to where they came from.

Sokka reached out his hoof to stop him when Chase made no other move to do so, but Trini put a hoof over his chest and shook her head. Sokka looked down at his hooves, helplessly defeated.

"Oh, boy. Ugh." Chase said with an annoyed groan. He then turns to Sokka. "Sokka, can you at least try to get him not to go over his head? If he's gonna get caught by the Lurkers…"

"Sure, let's just hope he doesn't screw this one up." Sokka said with a sigh as he flew off to find Sunray.

"Come on, guys." Chase said to Clay, Jade, Trini, and Antonio as he took the lead again.

"Yeah." Jade, Trini, Antonio, and Clay replied back simultaneously.

"Do you really think Sokka will find Sunray and get him to understand?" Chase asked the others as they continued onward. "Why's Sunray so difficult right now? I know that he's upset I haven't been back for a long time, but it's his temper that has been jeopardizing our mission from the start."

"Don't worry, Chase." Jade said gently to her brother. "He'll catch up with Sokka. We just gotta focus on what's important."

"Yeah, we find the crystals before the Lurkers do." Clay added with a determined look.

"I just hope Sunray doesn't react too quickly to this." Trini said with concern.

"You and me both, Trini." Chase said with a sigh while taking the lead.

Soon the five went down further through the passageways, unaware that they were being watched by one of the Gorilla Lurker soldiers before he growled silently and disappeared into the shadows.

(Scene changes)

Back with Sunray, he was walking back to the platform while grumbling angrily and frustratingly.

"Stupid Chase with his stupid leadership. I'm sick of him bossing me around. I should've been the leader of this team, but Grandpa insisted that it was supposed to be him." Sunray said angrily when Sokka caught up to him.

"Sunray, what are you doing?" Sokka asked sternly as Sunray turned to him with a glare.

"Getting along fine without you and the others obviously." Sunray replied back, walking away to get back to the surface.

"Oh, come on, buddy. You can't just turn your back on us. Look, I know you're upset that Chase hadn't come back since the defeat of the Quinkan, but you shouldn't let your anger get the best of you." Sokka said insistently, not wanting Sunray to go over his head. "I sometimes get into fights with Fluttershy too, but friends and family don't turn their backs on each other."

Surnay just growled back in reply with an angry look.

"Save it, Sokka! I am done with you and the others for good!" Sunray said angrily, making Sokka stop in shock by what he heard, and continued walking back to the platform.

"Oh man. You weren't like this since the Blue Dragons started to take Manehattan." Sokka said, referring to the events of the fifth season.

"Well, it's been a long time coming. I can tell you that." Sunray said bitterly when a Gorilla Lurker jumped down on the edge of another platform, catching the two ponies by surprise.

"What?" Sokka said in surprise as another showed up and used a crossbow to fire an arrow attached to dynamite right at Sokka, making Sunray scream in fright as it zipped past the pegasus stallion.

It exploded against the wall, throwing Sokka against the other side as he grunted in pain.

"Sokka!" Sunray cried out as more Gorilla Lurkers showed up with glares they sent to their two enemies with growls.

Coming out of the shadows were Bruter and Babak as they smirked down at Sunray and Sokka.

"Oh no! The Lurkers! They followed us here!" Sunray exclaimed in shock as five Gorilla Lurker soldiers took aim with their crossbows at the two stallions.

"Fire!" Brutter shouted as he pointed at Sunray and Sokka.

The five Gorilla Lurkers fired some more flaming arrows at the two ponies, who dodged out of the way, but then one of the soldiers threw a bola at Sokka, getting him caught in it as he grunted in pain.

"Sokka!" Sunray said in alarm. "Are you-"

Suddenly a Gorilla Lurker comes down behind Sunray and swats him aside against the wall as he grunts in pain.

"Take care of that unicorn stallion." Babak ordered as the soldiers jumped down onto the ground and charged at Sunray as Babak and Bruter remained on the edge.

Without hesitation, Sunray lit his horn, stood on his hind legs, aura hands replacing his front hooves, and charged at the soldiers as well.

Once they were in contact, Sunray performed a spin kick to the first one, sending it on his back, and double kicked two on the face as they fell down.

Getting his hooves out of the bola, Sokka joined in the fight as three more soldiers surrounded him as one of them tried to swat him, but he reacted quickly punching him aside and landed a solid back kick to the second one as he staggered back a bit. Sokka flips over the other Gorilla Lurker to avoid a punch and spin kicks it in the face.

Back with Sunray, he continues to battle the other Gorilla Lurker soldiers as he performed a double phoenix punch one to another and back kicks another aside. He avoids swat from the other and uses his Fire Element to fire a ball of fire at the others.

Just as Sunray powers down his element, another Gorilla Lurker soldier punches him brutally in the face as he grunted in pain and he fell on the ground on his chest.

"Beat him to a pulp!" Babak ordered his soldiers as they immediately began to punch Sunray repeatedly as he grunted in pain.

"Hey, you leave him alone!" Sokka demanded as he grabbed his boomerang and tried hit it against one of the soldiers.

But in response, one of them grabs the other end of the boomerang and snaps it in half, shocking Sokka in the process.

"Uh, hehehe. Oops." Sokka said with a meek chuckle as the Gorilla Lurker soldier, who broke his weapon, growled at him.

POW!

"Yaaaugh!" Sokka screamed at the top of his lungs before he crashed against the wall and grunted in pain, falling on the ground.

Weekly getting up, Sokka saw the soldiers taking down Sunray as the unicorn stallion grunted in pain some more from all of the beating he was receiving.

"Sunray, no!" Sokka shouted as he was about to rush over to help Sunray, only for Babak to fire a tranquilizer arrow at him, making him freeze in place as he fell to the ground.

Losing his conscience, Sokka could only see Sunray getting pummeled before his eyes closed.

Once the Gorilla Lurkers were done beating up Sunray, he was now covered in bruises, his left eye had a nasty shade of purple, and scratches on most of his body.

Babak and Bruter approached him as he grabbed the unicorn stallion by the chest and held him close.

"You really think you can take us down? You should know by now we're a lot stronger than you think. Soon, Talos will have all of the Eco crystals and this world will be plagued by his curse." Babak said to Sunray with an evil smirk.

"We'll just see about that." Sunray said not wanting to give up as he glared at the Gorilla Lurker soldiers. "We're gonna stop you punks and your boss if it's the last thing we ever do."

Then a sinister chuckle was heard as Sunray turned to the other side of the chamber and saw a figure in the shadows.

"Who's there?" Surnay demanded when the figure revealed himself to be Celtic.

"Just the pony who wanted to see you, my dear boy." Celtic said sinisterly with an evil smile.

Sunray dropped his glare with a horrified look as his eyes widened in surprise by the sight of Celtic Shanyu.

"Celtic!" Sunray exclaimed in shock as Celtic smirked at him sinisterly.

"Take care of him." Celtic ordered as Babak lifted Sunray up and slammed him to the ground brutally as he grunted in pain before he fell unconscious.

Babak lets go of Sunray as Celtic approached him with a mocking smile.

"I would've expected more from you, Sunray." Celtic said tauntingly. "But too bad you let your anger get the best of you after you left the others to try and stop us on your own."

He then turns to Sokka as he moans groggily with his eyes closed.

"Take Sokka to the swamp. It would be perfect so we can get the Yellow Eco crystal." Celtic ordered as Babak took Sokka away back to the surface with half of the Gorilla Lurkers and Bruter following him. Celtic then turns his attention to Sunray. "This one's coming with me."

The other Gorilla Lurkers grabbed Sunray as he weakly opened his for a moment as he heard Celtic's words echo in his mind about his argument with Chase.

Oh man. You messed up big time, Sunray. Sunray said in his thoughts before he fell unconscious while being carried away.

Celtic was taking the lead as he smirked evilly, knowing that he was one step closer to ending the Elite Ninja so he could get the crystals for Talos.
