Two days later, the Andersons took a car to 21 Charles Street, where Albert's grandparents lived.
The Andersons visit the grandparents every year. Albert always comes to stay for a few days during the summer holidays.
"Dad, we're here to see you."
"Albert, come here, let me see you!" Luke completely ignored his son and walked over to stare at his grandson. "Herb said you got a letter from Hogwarts. That's great. If there's anything you need, you can ask me..."
"Dad, I already took Albert to Diagon Alley in London to buy things." Herb looked at his father helplessly, cleared his throat and said, "I also brought you a gift."
"I'm not a child. I don't need a present." Luke looked up at his son and took Albert's hand. "Come inside and tell me what magic you've learned."
"Luke has been excited for days, like a little kid." Sansa said to Herb and his wife, "He never told me about this before. I only found out a few days ago. It's been so long. Nia, have you missed me?"
"My elder brother doesn't even let me touch his wand. He's always on guard against me, like I'm a thief." Nia immediately reported to her grandmother.
"Herb, keep an eye on Tom. Don't let him run around." Daisy picked up the package from the car and asked her husband to carry the cat cage, so that the cat wouldn't run away as soon as it was out of the cage.
"Can Albert really do magic?" Sansa thought it was interesting that her grandson was a wizard.
"Yes, he can make his wand glow and he practises every night in his room." Nia took her grandmother's hand and scolded Albert, "He also said that if I took the wand, I would blow up the house."
"Mum, you don't know how dangerous that wand is. I tell you..." Herb followed the two women with the cat carrier, and started to tell them about what he had seen in Diagon Alley.
"Albert believes that experimenting with magic is dangerous." Daisy added that she had read about the History of Magic and knew what had happened in some parts of the magical world, so she had some understanding of the magical world.
"Come on, Daisy, you're making a bigger deal out of this than it really is."
"No, Mother-in-law, even in the Wizarding World, they don't let children play with wands." Daisy was completely on Albert's side. Their son was reliable.
"How do you know that?" Herb asked curiously.
"If you read the books, you would know." Daisy looked at her husband reproachfully. "Can't you be more concerned about Albert? He's our precious son."
"Don't worry, Albert has never needed us to worry about him." Herb knew his son well. Albert had always been a model son.
"Even so, you should be more careful." Daisy came in with the package and closed the door behind her.
Tom, who had been kept locked up for the whole journey, was let out of his cat basket and began to run around wildly. Sansa and Daisy went to the kitchen to prepare the sweets and tea, while Luke listened to his son and grandson tell him about Diagon Alley, and the two of them would fill in the gaps.
Luke, of course, knew that the portrait of the Wizard moved and knew something about Dumbledore.
He put the chocolate frog that Herb had brought in a large glass jar and placed it in the living room as a decoration.
"I even wrote to Dumbledore to ask why I hadn't received an invitation." Luke had come to terms with it over the years. "Because I was unable to cast spells, a so-called squib, I was sent away at the age of 11 and entrusted into the care of an ordinary distant relative."
"How could they do that?" Herb was very puzzled and angry. He thought his father's family had gone too far.
"A squib is a disgrace to a family of Wizards," Luke whispered, "They would try to hide the secret as much as possible, and even pretend that the person didn't exist."
"It's okay, it's okay." Nia reassured him.
"After all these years, I've let go of it, and completely cut off contact with that part of the family," Luke picked Nia up and put her on his lap. He smiled and said, "But Albert becoming a Wizard was a bit of a surprise. When Herb didn't receive an invitation, I had already given up."
During the conversation, Albert showed them some magic, such as the illumination charm, the repair charm and the cleaning charm, as well as the unlocking charm. These were the four types of magic he currently learned, thanks to the Wizard Bloodline that had been upgraded to level 2.
Although he was not very skilled at it, it was still quite surprising to see the cracked teacup slowly repair itself and the spilled tea on the table dry up without warning.
"I want to do it too." Nia looked at her grandfather coquettishly and complained in a low voice, "I want to learn magic too. Albert is too mean."
Luke looked at his grandson and asked for his opinion. He knew that Albert had his own thoughts and that he wouldn't do something just because he was told to.
"You'll do exactly as I say." Albert looked at his younger sister. He was actually curious to see if Nia had any talent for magic.
"I will, I promise." Nia nodded like a chicken pecking at rice.
"Promising so easily? Let's forget it. You're not even listening to what I'm saying." Albert stared at his younger sister and said seriously.
"No, I listened carefully." Nia quickly refuted.
"Repeat after me: Lumos."
"Lumos." Nia quickly repeated after him, knowing that it was a spell.
"Repeat it slowly a few more times. Don't get it wrong, otherwise no one will know what's going on." Albert said, "I'll lend you my wand later. Don't point it at people, don't use it on people, don't say the incantation carelessly, and don't get angry even if you can't use magic."
"I know." Nia said impatiently.
"What did I just say?" Albert suddenly asked.
"Don't point the wand at things, don't..." Nia forgot what he had said and pouted, "I'm not you, how can I remember all this stuff?"
"If you can't remember, I can't give you the wand." Albert said seriously.
"But... okay, can you tell me again?" Nia relented.
The Andersons all laughed as Albert took Nia in hand. Children are always mischievous, and Nia was no different.
However, Albert had a way to deal with her mischievous behaviour.
After Nia had memorised his words, Albert gave her his wand.
Nia took the wand with excitement, but Albert gave her a glare and she calmed down. She obediently recited the spell and tried to use the illumination charm, but the spell did not work.
"Take a deep breath, concentrate, and try again." Albert put his hand on Nia's shoulder and said softly.
The illumination charm is one of the simplest spells, and if she can't use it, it could mean that Nia doesn't have the talent to become a Wizard.
"Lumos." Nia tried a few more times, but it didn't work.
"You're getting anxious. Take it easy. The more impatient you are, the more likely you are to fail." Albert stroked his younger sister's hair and looked over his shoulder at his grandfather.
Luke shook his head at him, and Albert knew what that meant.
"Am I not talented enough to become a Wizard?" Nia looked heartbroken with a sad face.
"I don't know either." Albert reassured him, "Maybe it's just because you're still young and worried."
"Damn it, Albert always tells lies. I definitely don't have the talent to become a Wizard." Nia dropped the wand and ran away.
Albert looked helplessly at the wand, then looked in the direction Nia had run off in, and prepared to chase after her.
Children are a real pain.
"I'll go talk to Nia." Luke stood up and followed Nia. He understood how Nia must be feeling.
